A/N: Several years ago on this very day I put out the first chapter of this tale. I hadn't even dreamed of getting the wonderful response I received. So many dear readers/reviewers became actual friends. Sadly the incredible fan base I enjoyed for so long no longer exists. But I'm still truly grateful for the handful of readers that still tune in for the current chapters far more than I can adequately express. A very heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every reader and reviewer who ever responded to this fanfic! Putting in this short chapter just to make it in time for the anniversary I'll be updating soon!

As Turles began the short journey to Kanish he allowed his thoughts to focus on the "chance" meeting he had made considerable effort to bring about. Evidently meeting the Dayogien female once more had meant little to Daiz as he had returned to the ship rather quickly. But then simply putting the pair in the same location had not been a guarantee of any emotional exchange. Perhaps the Kabochan was still reeling from the blue-haired Earth female's rejection and betrayal to entertain the thought of any involvements at the moment.

And perhaps he should stay out the situation entirely but something just seemed to resonate with the former desert planet dweller. Maybe it was the young woman's sheer innocence that made her a better fit than the quick-witted Bulma.

And maybe he sought to atone for taking the woman Daiz was once involved with for himself. The unattainable Turles had been drawn like a moth to a flame to the fiery Kabochan female. What if Daiz had felt the all consuming emptiness the Saiyan presently felt at her loss? If so then he done a great disservice to the crewman who was the closest thing to a friend the brigand possessed since his comrades from Vegeta-sei.

A low growl escaped him. Turles did not deal with emotions well.

The pirate commander's musings were suddenly interrupted by his scouter picking up a transmission.

"What is it, Cratalus?"

"Well Lord Turles, it seems one of the local minor princes of Ardash has declared his intentions to acquire a bride today."

"And why is that any of my concern?" Turles growled irritably.

"Sir, his prospective mate is the Dayogien female you..."

"I'll handle the situation, Cratalus. You've certainly earned your wages today and I'll be extra generous with your payment."

A blue amphibious alien shuddered as his scouter went silent. He'd hate to be the princeling that had incurred Turles' ire. But he looked forward to being paid handsomely by the Saiyan for being his informant.

Turles smiled evilly. No spoiled palace pup was going to interfere in his machinations. Of course the final decision would be up to Daiz. But there was nothing wrong with arranging the opportunity for the Kabochan to cross paths with the Dayogien once more.

The pirate commander barked a few orders into his scouter. With the threat he had just orchestrated the Ardashian prince would most likely scurry back to his palace as fast as his legs could carry him. And if not well there would shortly be one less royal in existence. Now back to the matter at hand...

Aboard Turles' ship:

"Are ya' wondrin' wha' deviltry Turles be plottin'?" Gartoa queried Daiz.

"It's Turles, there's no telling what his devious mind is going to come up with, " his crewmate replied.

"Aye, e's tha' one playin' tha' game an' tha' rest o' us are jus' tha' playin' pieces, " the burly bearded pirate mused.

'That's a very disturbing concept,' Daiz thought.

But truth be told Turles DID usually do as he pleased.

'What ARE you up to this time Turles?' the former prince wondered.
