This is my take on Mr. Sinister and Gambit’s relationship, as father and son, and Gambit’s trauma induced by him. Gambit joins the x-men as a last resort to keep him from the clutches of his father, who now wants to bond with him, Nathanial Essex, and is experimenting on him for the “cure” for his powers, specifically the New Sun part of him.
