Hello readers, Sorry for the late update, I been busy finalize my dragon book. Plus I closed the poll, it ended with a tie. So I will decide if Saphira will get a parasitic form in this chapter or not. I also like to thank the authors for their support of this fanfiction. Anyway I just wanted to share that.
Chapter 8
Saphira's Parasitic Form And Vloikasrexz
After Eragon's embarrassing moment, Saphira returned with my deer. Saphira was quite mad at me, so while I was eating my food. Me and Saphira didn't talk for the rest of the night, after I had finished eating my deer I fell asleep with Sxydrav following my explanation. The next morning I lazily woke up to hear Eragon grunting in pain. Saphira and Sxydrav were already up, as I saw Brom cooking breakfast in front of me.
"Good morning, Volkossah/Master." Both Saphira and Sxydrav growled out in unison as I looked to my left and right, to see them looking at each other before turning their attention back to whatever they were doing.
The poor rider felt worse as Eragon woke up in pain with many bruises covering his arms and his body, while he was almost too sore to move an inch. I gave a dragon-like yawn as I just woke up to see the poor rider in pain, If I pity him for having to endure that. Beat from yesterday. My answer is… no not really, I did enjoy seeing Eragon get his ass whipped by Brom.
"Morning you two, what do I miss?" I asked while standing up and began to stretch my legs and wings in preparation for today's traveling.
"Nothing much Master, we both just woke up a few minutes before you do." Sxydrav pointed out as I looked at Saphira seeing her begin to stretch herself, while Brom had finished cooking his and Eragon's breakfast.
"How do you feel Eragon?" Brom asked as he tried to wake up Eragon, while giving a small smirk to Eragon, who just groaned in displeasure. Eragon and Brom ate breakfast silently, while me, Saphira and Sxydrav stayed silent watching them.
A few minutes later, we all were on the road again. Eragon and Brom were walking towards the town, while Saphira, Sxydrav and myself were flying beside them in the morning sky. As Brom started a conversation with Eragon the road widened out, they were close to Therinsford as they saw smoke from the town in the distance.
"You better tell Saphira, Sxydrav and Volkossah to fly ahead. They need to fly to the other side of Therinsford and wait there. They have to be careful here otherwise people will notice them." Brom pointed out as he and Eragon were walking close to the town.
"Why don't you tell them yourself." Eragon challenges Brom to tell us to go there. I know Brom can't order me or Sxydrav around because both of us are wild dragons.
"It's considered ill mannered to interfere with a rider's dragon, plus it's not a very good idea to order around Volkossah and Sxydrav cause both of them are wild dragons. I can't order all of them around because Saphira is your dragon, Volkossah and Sxydrav are not bonded by a rider." Brom examples to Eragon as he was right with that. No one should get into a dragon's affairs, especially a rider's dragon's own affairs.
"You had no problem telling Saphira in Carvahall, plus Saphira and Volkossah make conversion often." Eragon stated as that was true, me and Saphira do have conversions. But not Saphira and Sxydrav, they just met yesterday.
"Eragon, me and Saphira may talk often, but I don't tell her what to do because I'm not her rider. Plus the fact that I'm the last of my kind and she is the last of her kind, beside Sxydrav. It is a good choice to go up against the king. Also Saphira wouldn't listen to my orders, even If I tried to order her around." I pointed out as Sxydrav was quiet listening to me speak out my opinion.
"I heard that Volkossah, me and Sxydrav here may be the last female dragons of Alagaesia. But it doesn't mean that I will listen to your suggestions or ideas, even if you do become a mate for me. I will listen to you and Eragon only, no one else will tell me what to do." Saphira growl, while slightly annoyed by me as I could tell that the sapphire dragon was a little irrational by my words.
Eragon grunted as he looked at Brom, who was smiling at the rider. I could tell that Eragon was annoyed at Saphira and I, while Sxydrav had a fang-like grin for some unknown reason.
"I did what I had to do, in order to convince Saphira to stay put so that I can help you." Brom stated as Sxydrav cut into the conversation.
"The old one is right, Eragon he knows what he is doing, so you do not need to worry about it." Sxydrav pointed out as she was right about Brom. Before Eragon could reply to Sxydrav, Saphira cut in.
"Be careful little one, the empire's servants are everywhere. They could be hidden anywhere in this place, be aware of your surroundings." Saphira is right about this, keeping an eye out for spies or assassins where keeping yourself aware is key to survival in this harsh world.
As me, Saphira and Sxydrav flew around Therinsford to hide from the Empire, Eragon and Brom proceeded into the town to buy horses. While I was flying with Saphira and Sxydrav, I felt Saphira's parasitic darkness react all of a sudden. Causing red and purple electrically to sugre throughout her body, as I hear Saphira growling in pain.
"Saphira, your parasitic darkness is reacting, and not in a good way either." I felt the sapphire dragon's parasitic darkness increase tenfold, causing her to snarl in irritation. While we were almost to the other side of Therinsford, Saphira's wings started to become unbalanced and begin to wobble. As Saphira's fly pattern begins to become unstable, Sxydrav and I know that Saphira's parasitic darkness has somehow increased tenfold. But the question is how?
It was not long before we were in the clear of being seen by the empire. Unfortunately Saphira couldn't suppress the pain as she suddenly dropped out of the sky, I growled in annoyance as I had to grab Saphira before she injured herself permanently.
"Oh fuck my life, really Saphira! Hold on, I got you." I sigh as I dive after Saphira, while Sxydrav is watching from above. I quickly grabbed Saphira before she reached a velocity of 120 mph in a free fall. While Sxydrav hovered in place, I pulled up until I was level with Sxydrav. After that me and Sxydrav flew west from the town that Eragon and Brom are in, with Saphira in my claws. Luckily the sapphire dragon was not unconscious from the parasitic darkness within her, but I can feel Saphira was already transformed into my kind within my grasp during our flight.
Saphira felt a stabbing pain all over her body during the flight as I increased my pace. The pain the sapphire dragon felt was like something was tearing her body to shreds. I know Saphira couldn't take it anymore as I could feel a massive pain all around her body in my mind from our linked connection.
Me and Sxydrav found a clearing nearby the town, as we quickly landed in the area. As I set Saphira down, I moved off of her while Saphira tried to keep from roaring in pain. But the pain had increased so much that the Alagaesia dragon couldn't hold it any longer. I heard Saphira roar in agony as me and Sxydrav both watched the sapphire dragon in pain as her body was on fire. Saphira's roar sounded different, it sounded like a hybrid of a dragon and a phoenix's roar loud screech mixed with loud hiss from a sea serpent. But it kept her standard roar as Saphira jumped up in panic, as I saw her searching for me until she spotted me and Sxydrav. I could tell that she was afraid of what's happening to her.
"Volkossah, what is happening to me?" Saphira asked growling in pain as her body started to change. The first thing that Saphira felt was that her whole head started to lengthen, while that was happening I gave her my answer.
"Somehow your parasitic darkness has increased so much that your parasitic transformation has started. I thought that it was a slow process, but somehow it caused your parasitic darkness to activate." Saphira snarled from the pain as I answered her while her lower jaw began to split down the middle. Causing blood to spill out as new hedges were formed. Saphira's lower teeth including her lower fangs immediately broke, then quickly repaired as new teeth emerged from the inside of the sapphire dragon's new lower jaw.
Saphira tried to say something telepathic, but she vomited out purple blood. The sapphire dragon felt her tongue grow longer and larger like a sea serpent's tongue, as Saphira felt them split into three separate tips as sharp serrated blades grew out of the tips. It was very painful, as Saphira felt multiple teeth grow out of her entire throat and mouth.
About the time that happened Saphira's head stopped lengthening, she then felt something in her throat. It felt like something was multiple teeth stabbing all the way down into the sapphire dragon's esophagus. But in reality, Saphira's neck exploded outward, with multiple tentacles coming out of her neck. I don't know how many tentacles the sapphire dragon had.
But I know it will be a great tool for Saphira to hold her enemies or crush her prey as they were drawing back into her throat, while I saw Saphira's blood coating the ground. Saphira's neck looked like a mouth with massive teeth for grabbing and chewing, another great tool for enemies and prey. I confirmed Saphira, hoping to lessen the pain as I wished Saphira pain would stop, all the while this was happening, purple blood was caking the ground.
Then multiple sapphire blue eyes started to grow out of Saphira's skull, I couldn't count how many there were. But I can tell that she was transformed into my kind, as I could see Saphira's vision had increased above and around the sides of her head. After that happened, I saw Saphira's throat stopped hurting. But not before Saphira ribs started to hurt like hell, like the sapphire dragon ribs were about to explode.
"Volkossah help me! P-p-please." I heard Saphira roar in massive amounts of pain as the Alagaesia dragon pleaded this to me and Sxydrav. Hoping that we would help me out, but I can't interfere with a parasitic dragon transformation.
"Saphira I can't do anything, cause if I did interfere with this. It will result in your death, your own parasitic darkness can absorb you from the inside out." I roared out as this was true. Parasitic darkness is very unprecedented and dangerous this time. Sometimes it can comply and other times it can a bitch to use. New parasitic dragons have to be trained to use it, I was born with it so this will not affect me.
I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard Saphira roar in agony. Her ribs suddenly burst outward as purple blood burst forward like a waterfall. I saw Saphira looked down at her own ribs to find it had opened up with very massive sharp bone teeth, it stopped at her hind legs. Saphira saw a hard thick protective layer of fleshy scales covering her organs. Instead of all of the organs showing at once. I was glad Saphira's mutation does not affect her organs.
Saphira's wing started to split into two pieces, causing her to hiss in agony as blood spilled all over the Alagaesia dragon's back. Her wings were torn in half causing two new wings to burst out of Saphira's regular wings but with the bone sticking out of the torn side, the other side of her wings were perfectly fine just like my wings are. They both share a single wing joint with a total of four wings each per joint.
Saphira's legs started to stretch out to make room for her teeth like ribs, they grew up to two times their normal lengths. As this was happening I looked at Saphira and saw her start to take deep breaths. I saw five hydra heads burst out of Saphira's back, ready to sink their purple teeth into something.
All the while sharp blades started to form on her legs muscles, until both of the blades and hydra heads reacted back into Saphira's body. The Alagaesia dragon's tail split into five separate serrated long-like whips with very sharp blades on the tail tips. They reached a few feet in front of Saphira's face, very good at slashing enemies at a very long distance.
"Saphira are you alright?" I asked Saphira, growing in worry as I felt the pain in her body die down. Saphira was lucky enough not to pass out unconscious from the massive amount of pain that she was in, Sxydrav stayed quiet through this process as she watched it all unfold.
"Yes Volkossah I'm fine, but I'm a parasitic dragon now. Why did this happen to me?" Saphira exclaimed as she looked at herself in worry. I knew Saphira would react this way, so I decided to try to get Saphira in a good mood.
"Yes that is true Saphira, but you are still an Alagaesia dragon at heart. It happened because your parasitic darkness suddenly increased, but maybe it's just a temporary form. Who knows what parasitic darkness can do to a dragon?" I growled as I hoped that this would cheer Saphira up. Before Saphira could reply, Sxydrav cut in.
"Saphira what my master said is true, your parasitic form is likely a temporary form. Hopefully you can revert back to your original form by tomorrow." Sxydrav cut in, purring as Sxydrav agreed with me. Saphira's mood was greatly increased by my servant's words.
"Thank you Volkossah and Sxydrav for cheering me up." Saphira growled in happiness as Eragon called out to us, before me or Sxydrav could reply back.
"Saphira, Volkossah we just got the horses and we are heading your way." Eragon responded happily as I heard him through mine and Saphira connecting. While Sxydrav was lying down next to me as I answered Eragon.
"Okay Eragon, I will let Saphira know. After I tell her I will send you the location." I replied as I proceeded to send our location to Eragon, while Saphira was dealing with her new parasitic form.
"Saphira, Eragon and Brom are heading our way. Do I have your permission to show Eragon our location?" I asked Saphira, while Sxydrav was showing Saphira all about the parasitic race through her own memories. Sxydrav showed Saphira everything about her past and about the once pride race of parasitic dragons. After a few minutes of scrying through Sxydrav's memories, Saphira turned her attention to me.
"That's good to hear Volkossah and yes you can go ahead and show Eragon and Brom our location. Sxydrav showed me through her memories that if a newly formed parasitic shows images to their rider shortly after they become a new parasitic dragon, it can cause their parasitic darkness to severely injure their brain." Saphira gave my permission as she growled in fear. What Saphira said was true about parasitic darkness, it can mess with a dragon's brain by altering or changing their memories drastically. So much that it can cause severe memory loss and even cause death in most cases.
I nod as I push my mind towards Eragon, showing our location to him and the storyteller. While Saphira was testing out her parasitic form with Sxydrav's guidance. As I was showing Eragon our location my parasitic darkness started to go haywire, dark purple and bright red electricity surged throughout my body. I roared in agony as I couldn't hold my roar in pain. The massive amount of pain caused my vision to blur as I fell on the ground, Saphira and Sxydrav to feel my pain. I can barely hear what is being said as I heard a dark and eerie voice, a voice that I recognize from my kind's memory. While Eragon and Brom arrived to see me in pain.
"Do you really think that you can escape me, Volkossah. I've been waiting for you, I Vloikasrexz the Angel Of Darkness and the Unholy Dragon Of Pure Darkness want you. I want you to submit to me and destroy all life, cleanse this world, after all I am your master." I was confused as I felt a powerful and dark, cold voice. It was very distorted and wrapped, so much that I could hear multiple voices speaking out for this dragon.
"I feel you're about to release me with your corrupted energy, you better decide on who you want to keep alive. Because I am coming for you and when I do, all hell will break loose for all of Alagaesia to see." I growled in shock as this presence disappeared from my mind, leaving me stunned beyond belief. I heard of Vloikasrexz. Vloikasrexz is an evil dragon with the intention to use me as a puppet. I snapped out of my thoughts by Saphira.
"Volkossah, Volkossah! Are you okay?" Saphira roared out in fear as I stood shaky, my eyes narrow in fear. Vloikasrexz coming here means the end of Alagaesia, his intention to enslave everyone under his rule. If he does not get his way, he will shroud Alagaesia in pure darkness destroying all life.
"No I'm not, Vloikasrexz is coming and with him is the apocalypse of darkness." I growled in fear as Saphira, Brom and Eragon were confused at my answer. As the afternoon sky was a little cloudy, I feel a windy thunder storm coming our way.
