A/N: I do not own anything related to Dinosaur King. Just my OCs.
At an outdoor restaurant in Alberta, Canada, a man was currently trying to hit on a waitress. The man is a Caucasian with bleached hair, mustache, goatee, and glasses on his face while he wore a light tan shirt, brown vest, tan trousers, a belt, and brown boots. And the waitress was being more than annoyed at the man's flirtatious attitude.
"So what do you say, miss?" the spectacled man asked with an eyebrow wiggle, "You? Me? A nice date underneath the stars of Canadian outdoors?"
"Sir," the woman deadpanned, "All I asked you was what you wanted to have for dessert."
"Well, what I want for dessert is you," the man said, not taking a hint.
The waitress rolled her eyes before the man's pager started to beep. "One moment darling," he said before checking the pager. Whatever it said on the pager turned the man's attitude from flirtatious to serious in a matter of seconds. "I'll take the check please."
Minutes later, the man hopped into his car and drove off... although he did try to flirt with the waitress one more time, it ended with him getting a fake phone number that he didn't know about yet.
Arriving at a dig site, he exited his vehicle and ran over to meet one of the assistants.
"Here they are sir," a worker gestured to what he informed the man about.
The worker gestured to an exposed fossil of what appears to be a theropod of some sort...
And two unopened capsules.
"Well, I'll be a Gigantopithecus' uncle!" the bleached hair man exclaimed, "I'll have to tell Spencer back at the lab!"
"Henry, don't eat that!" Tyler exclaimed to his partner as the mini Triceratops was inches away from nibbling on a bench. He was making his way to the D-Lab to meet up with his friends but Henry had a habit of nearly chewing everything.
After obtaining his new friend, Tyler had to come up with a lie to get his parents to be on board with him owning the 'dog.' He went with the original lie that his friends had agreed to come up with, saying they were exotic dogs. Thinking about it, they were convinced that they would be their story. Luckily, Mr. and Mrs. Sipes accepted Henry, who would have nibbled at them but Tyler was able to prevent him from doing that. And as a bonus, Tyler wasn't one for vegetables so with a mini herbivore as his pet, he could practically just feed the dinosaur his veggies.
"Why not?" The miniature dinosaur said, "This wood looks tasty."
"Someone built it from wood," the male blonde explained.
"Built from wood?" the Triceratops repeated, "Are you sure about that? Because I remember that trees come from seeds and grow."
Tyler just face-palmed as Henry bit into the wood. The Triceratops found himself in love with the bench's bark and continued to chew at it. "What did you do to this wood? It lasts forever! Where have you been all my life?"
After prying the mini ceratopsian off the woodwork, Tyler arrived at the lab, his friends already inside. The ones that have arrived were Tiffany, and Kierra while Fiona was at the computer typing away.
"Sorry, we're late," the male blonde said, casting a glance, "Someone wanted to try and chew everything on site."
"Well, excuse me for being curious. I never got to full express my chomping habit when I was younger," Henry defended.
"Habits aside," the Lightning Stone user said, "Why did I get a call on such short notice?"
"We are waiting for Mr. Merlos to get here," Tiffany said. No sooner did she say that, Anderson, Cole, Tate, and Spencer rushed into the lab. The renowned paleontologist was running towards a screen with a holographic Earth.
"Where is it? Where is it? Where is it?!" Spencer repeated in panic as he searched himself for something.
"What's up with him?" Tiffany said.
"My dad called him," Cole informed, "Said something about it being urgent."
Spencer continued to check his jacket for a phone before Fiona just handed him it. The paleontologist sheepishly accepted it before plugging it into their holographic Earth screen. The phone transferred into a video call with a man in Canada appeared on the screen.
Spencer smiled, "Ah. Dr. Messinger. Dug up anything new?"
The bleached hair man could only smirk back, "I found a funny bone!" He began to laugh as he gave two thumbs to his old colleague, "Hahahahaha! What's all the fossil about?"
"Mmmmhmmmm! Dinosaur jokes!" Dr. Merlos responded, copied his friend's movements.
The two paleontologists began to perform... an embarrassing yet clearly choreographed dance routine that to the human eyes might be scarring. They even had a 'song' to go along with it.
"What makes di-no-saurs ex-tinct! Not ta-king a bath we think! Dig it!"
The sons and teenagers present were sweatdropped except Fiona as she was busy with other things while Tate and Henry just wondered over to see what was going on.
"Who's that?" The trike asked the rex, who shrugged. "I don't know. Been here for only a few days. Didn't know they had other herd members."
"Think... Stink. Smelly dinosaurs. Yep, that's still funny," Spencer chuckled to himself.
"When will that joke get old for them?" Anderson asked Cole.
"Probably when they're extinct," the Latino responded.
After Dr. Messinger had a quick laugh, he regained his composure, "Anyway, I have new information regarding those dinosaur cards you told me about. More cards have been found."
"What?!" the teenagers exclaimed as they thought they were going to keep this a secret. They smushed to the screen, wanting to know more.
The away paleontologist began to explain, "I'm here at a dig site in Alberta, Canada. Along with some amazing fossils, we also found two more cards." He showed the two cards instantly and their respective Stone holders immediately identified them.
"A Carnotaurus!" Cole recognized.
"And a Parasaurolophus!" Tiffany identified.
Dr. Messinger proceeded to flip the cards and reveal their elements: the Carnotaurus had a Wind symbol and the Parasaurolophus had a Grass symbol.
Henry watched and his tail began to wag as he liked the idea of more dinosaurs joining their herd. Though it had only been a week, Tate seemed pretty nice for a T-rex. The small ceratopsian never considered having a carnivore in his herd but given how so far they are the only dinosaurs they have met -that weren't out to hurt each other-, it would be the best thing. But right now, he was bored and to do something about his boredom, he did what he did best: chomp.
The object: Tyler's leg.
The receiver yelped in pain before falling over and attempted to get his attacker off him.
It was then when Dr. Messinger finally noticed his son. "Ah, Cole!" Is that you, my boy?"
"I've been here the whole time, dad," his son replied with a deadpan tone.
"I'm sure you have been behaving yourself at the Merlos house. Unless... I need to give my speech again?" he asked, leaned up close to the screen.
Cole waved his hands quickly, "No, that's fine Dad." He reassured, before asking, "But could you possibly send the cards over to us?"
"Of course. I'll send them to the lab and you should have them first thing tomorrow morning," the distant paleontologist informed before turning his attention to the other paleontologist, "Anyway, Dr. Merlos, I look forward to your analysis. And Cole, you can learn a lot from Dr. Merlos so pay close attention. OK?"
"Yes dad," Cole nodded.
"Great. I have to get back to the dig now, but I'll send the cards over as soon as I can. Call if you need anything." With that, the call ended and Spencer unplugged the phone.
"I can't believe Tiffany and I will get our own dinosaurs by tomorrow! This'll be awesome!" Cole exclaimed, excited that he gets to have one now.
"I hope I get a really cute one!" Tiffany gushed.
"Yeah, congrats..." Kierra said, feeling left out.
The Wind and Grass Stone user looked at their friend before apologizing, "Oh... sorry, Kierra. We just got caught up with our own dinosaurs, we forge-"
"It's fine, guys," the purple clothed girl said, "I guess me and Jackson will just have to keep waiting before getting our own partners."
"Speaking of which, where is Jackson?" Anderson asked, not seeing the Water Stone user.
"You don't remember?" Tiffany asked. After getting a no, she explained, "He went to Egypt for a family reunion remember."
"Oh yeah," the Fire Stone user said with a sheepish tone, "I had completely forgotten."
Though Kierra wasn't the only one happy not getting a partner.
"What about me?! If anyone should have a dinosaur it's me!" cried Spencer. He grabbed a nearby Dino Holder and began biting into it, trying to pry open the stone compartment. "I just have to figure out the secret of these things!"
"Uh, Dad?" Anderson asked. Meanwhile, Tyler had successfully gotten Henry off his leg.
Fiona intervened by grabbing the Dino Holder from Spencer's hand, unaware she was crushing it, "The stones chose your son and the others because they touched them first. Show a little self control," she exasperated. Sometimes she felt like the only adult that worked in the lab. She then gave the gathered stone users a book each.
"Uh, Fiona? What are these?" Kierra asked.
"Dino Holder manuals," she said. "They're to be used for more than swiping cards. There's a carrier for the stones and extra cards as well."
"This will take a year to read!" Anderson exclaimed. Even Cole, being the studious one, felt this was a little big for a manual.
"You know, you may like sitting inside and studying all day! But some of us like to have fun! Maybe you should try that!" Tiffany defended as she shot a glare at her sister.
"What's reading?" Tate asked.
"Maybe Tiffany can teach you. Since she wants to do something fun," the older blonde replied, causing her younger sister to glare at her again.
While she did this, Anderson leaned forward, almost glaring at his dad, "So, Dad, what's the deal with Dr. Messinger? I thought we were going to keep the whole thing about cards a secret. Did you change your mind and tell every dinosaur expert in the world?"
"No, Dr. Messinger's the only one who knows besides us. He's a close friend of mine and taught me a lot of what I know, so I can trust him," Spencer defended.
Cole folded his arms, "It would be nice having someone who supports us rather than against us as we continue this hunt."
"Yeah. Who knows where the Alpha Gang could be at this point?" Kierra voiced.
Speaking of said gang, at Zeta Point -the Alpha Gang headquarters- Dr. Z was having one of his tantrums about them losing the Triceratops, even if it had been a week since the ordeal.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" he screamed at a lava lamp. "This has been my third attempt in making a Move Card and it still has yet to develop!"
The trio were currently watching their 'king' at work while his grandchildren and scientist stood on the side. The tirade had been going on for about an hour now so Trenton left, having much better things to do than listen to the deranged old man's rant.
"Uh, grandpa," Laura mentioned, "the energy level is too high." The lava lamp began to glow bright like the last time.
"She's right," Rod added, "And the way you pieced the equipment together it could blow any minute."
The doctor didn't hear their concern as he continued to blame the trio for his failure, saying that if he had the two dinosaurs the brats have, he could focus better.
Rod and Laura decided to cut their losses now. "OK, Grandpa, we have to go study," Laura said before she and her brother left the room. Knowing what usually happens, the room should be destroyed.
The trio caught on too late and began making up excuses of their own.
"Uh, I hear Trenton calling," Ursula lied.
"I hear my mother calling," Zander followed.
"I hear nature calling," Ed ended before attempting to leave.
This was met by Dr. Z saying, "Stop right there! You three will stay right here until my experiment is finished. Understood?!"
The A-trio slumped with defeat, "Yes sir." If they count themselves lucky, the blast would kill them in the process.
The lava lamp glowed brighter and brighter which made Dr. Z grin, oblivious to the impending consequence. 'At long last! My TRUE ultimate creation!"
It was not his ultimate creation.
The only thing he created was an explosion that made the whole room vanish. The doctor and his lackeys in their underwear, surprising them that they were still alive.
Things got worse when Helga entered the room, very pissed off. "I'd like to speak with you in private Dr. Z," she calmly yet angrily said. The doctor went rigid when he heard her threat.
"But, in the meantime, I want this mess cleaned up by dinner time or there will be no dinner time for you four!" Helga left with that declaration and the four all had anime tears, not wanting to cry.
Out in the jungle biome, Arthur and Suko looked at the smoking sight before shaking their heads.
"I can't believe that guy claims he will be the king," Suko said as he marched over to a pond.
"Trust me," Arthur remarked, "It's completely stupid. The only good thing he's 'done' so far was finally get us talking again."
Since it had been a week, Dr. Z claimed it was 'important' to hear the dinosaurs' thoughts… after Trenton mentioned it. Of course, the doctor took credit and had his scientist repair the translator on Zeta Point and the Alpha Scanners.
Arthur and Suko heard the stomps of another dinosaur and turned to see their old friend.
"I see you are back," the enhanced Arcocanthosaurus said.
"Psssh!" the dinosaur said with a female tone, "Please. I'm back and better than ever!"
Both named dinosaurus rolled their eyes and both thought the same thing, 'Of course. Still her bragging self."
"So honey, enjoy seeing your relatives?" Jackson's mom asked him.
The African American teenager was looking out the car's window when his mom asked the question, "Huh? Oh, yeah."
He went back and looked out the window again. Only seeing sand, sand, and more sand. They were on a bus ride to the pyramids as an excursion. The family reunion had gone well, Jackson chatting with his cousins of the same age for the most part. He had been able to sneak his Dino Holder into the country through his luggage, so -just in case- he had the chance, he would be notified. He had been able to stash it away in his drawstring bag. But he doubted that chance would come.
Fate, though, was on his side today.
A capsule, just like Tate and Henry's were in, opened up. Inside it were three cards, two yellow and one gray. The desert wind blew against the cards and sent the three flying away from the pyramids and into a city. The cards landed right by a table that two men just finished eating from. One of them bumped against the table and caused his beverage to fall. The cup opened up and water spilled on the cards.
Immediately, the cards started to glow blue and reveal the dinosaur within: a gray Spinosaurus with some purple coloring on his sides and sail.
With a crocodile-like roar, he signaled his appearance.
As night approached Zeta Point, the team were having dinner. Arthur, Suko were eating out dinosaur sized bowls as the A-trio and Z ate at the table. As Dr. Z was moving his silverware under his plate, the Alpha Scanner started blinking red. Instantly, the 'king' lit up.
"Ah! Another one of my darling dinosaurus has been activated!" He shouted with a smile.
"Dr. Z! No toys at the table!" Helga reprimanded.
"I know that, but how can I eat when another one of my cards has been located," the doctor said before ordering his go-getters. "Ursula! Zander! Ed! You're off on another capture mission!"
"Yes, sir!"
"No, you're not!" Everyone immediately shrunk as Helga flared with a red, menacing aura. "No one is leaving until I see every plate is clean!"
The four slumped to defeat again, "Yes, Helga."
"And don't think I don't know about those vegetables you have hidden under your plate, doctor," the maid mentioned with a glare.
Dr. Z quickly denied the claim, "Aah! Those aren't mine, they're Ed's!" Clearly it failed since his mannerisms were obvious with the mad sweating.
"I wasn't asking!" the maid disciplined and smacked the doctor silly.
The two dinosaurs heard the news of a new sighting and shared a look.
"Think she's up for it?" Suko said.
Arthur gave his best impression of a shrug, "Eh. She thinks she's still a hotshot. Worth a shot. Maybe it's the boost we need."
The two carnivores left to get their hot-shot recruit.
At the Merlos' house, Anderson and his family were also having dinner. Cole would normally eat all his food, but today he was barely able to eat any of it. The excitement was eating at him.
"Dr. Merlos, do you know when the cards are going to get here?" The Latino asked.
Spencer thought for a bit before answering, "I believe your dad said he'd ship them Double Express, which means they should be here at about 7:12 tomorrow morning… Give or take a few."
"Awesome! Soon I might have a partner!" Cole said with excitement before freezing as Jessica asked a question.
"What do you mean by partner?"
Cole gulped before Spencer managed to cover for him, "Oh, well, Cole is planning on getting a dog just like Anderson has, right!" The Latino quickly nodded along with the lie.
Jessica noticed their odd behavior but decided to ignore it. "So we'll have two dogs then? Remember who will be taking care of them." She cheered with a smile. Cole only nodded his head and went back to eating.
As they continued eating, Anderson's phone soon started to ring.
"No phones at the table, Anderson." His mom reminded him.
"It's from Tiffany. Let me take this," the son said as he excused himself from the table. He answered and saw a panicked Tiffany on the screen. "What's up?"
"Turn on the news! Hurry up! Don't just stand there, Anderson!"
"The news?" the brunette went to the living room and turned on the TV.
"Immediately, the news flipped on and showed the Spinosaurus wandering the streets of Giza while people fled in terror.
"Another dinosaur!" Spencer whispered astonishingly as he ran up and grabbed the screen. "And this time it's a Spinosaurus!"
The screen soon zoomed out as an anchorwoman appeared on the screen. "We have just received these reports where a live dinosaur had appeared near the Pyramids of Giza."
"No!" Anderson cried.
"In Egypt!" Cole exclaimed as he looked at the screen. Another dinosaur had appeared and now it was further than when Henry was located.
"All citizens have been forced to take immediate shelter," the anchorwoman reported, "But thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries. And now a word from our sponsors."
The news shifted to commercial break as the gathered team wondered what to do now.
The whole team regrouped at the D-Lab an hour later to discuss their plans. Spencer suggested the idea of taking a plane, but that was shot down by the response he got on the phone.
"What?! There are no flights until tomorrow night! You must understand, I have to get to Egypt right away!"
"Any response from Jackson?" Kierra asked.
"No response. From his phone or Dino Holder," Tyler said. This worried them, a dinosaur in his current location and he hasn't responded since.
On the screen, it showed a map of the entire world. On the map, there were two blinking lights: one in Japan and one in Egypt.
"That's where the Spinosaurus is!" Tiffany announced and pointed to the screen.
"Great!" Tate exclaimed, "So let's just walk right over there!"
"It's not that simple," Cole explained, "We can't just walk to Egypt. It would take too long."
"Too long," Fiona thought aloud as she began to press buttons on a keyboard. Multicolored zig zag lines appeared on the screen, connecting the two dots. As everyone leaned in with curiosity, Fiona had a revelation on what this might mean. 'Could it even be possible?' She thought. Suddenly, she got her idea.
Fiona might have found a way to get to Egypt after all.
At Zeta Point, the Alpha Gang was just about to have their ride ready for take-off.
"Are you sure this thing is safe?" Ursula asked as she eyed the aircraft with suspicion.
"Absolutely not!" Dr. Z confirmed. This made Ursula give him a questioning look. Before she could further question him any further, the dinosaur sized door opened revealing Arthur and Suko.
"What took you guys so long? We don't have all day!" Ursula yelled at the duo.
"Well-" Arthur began before the third dinosaur appeared.
"Obviously, they were in need of my awesome strength!" a black and purple, yellow-crested Allosaurus said with a smug tone.
"Who told you two you could bring Alison?!" Dr. Z yelled, walking up to the Early Createcous theropod.
"Please," she dismissed, "They practically begged for me to come along."
Arthur and Suko rolled their eyes at her cockiness. Clearly, they were secretly hoping that the Allosaurus would get a much needed humbling if the kids showed up.
Dr. Z, unaware of what his dinosaurs truly wanted, stroked his beard in thought, "Alright. She can come along. After all, you are fast if I recall."
Alison mentally smiled, "You don't even know the half of it." She was ready to hunt her prey.
Eventually, the Alpha Gang's purple rocket made it to Egypt. The device was shaking a lot and had many bandages, so it was only a miracle that it stayed airborne for so long. Zander looked out a periscope, pointing at the ground to locate the dinosaur. He was soon able to find the "spine lizard" directly below them. "There you are~" Zander announced.
"Perfect!" Ursula declared, "Zander! Drop the bomb!" she ordered.
"Yes, ma'am!" With a press of a button, the Spinosaurus would be seeing daisies. He pressed the button and nothing happened..
Until toast popped out next to where Ed was sitting, "Yay, toast!" The portly man munched happily on his snack.
The other two members looked at each other.
"Plan B?" Zander simply suggested.
"Plan B." Ursula said as she opened the hatch and grabbed her scanner. She pulled out two cards and told them. "All right, you two. Go get that Spinosaurus now!" She swiped them on the slot.
The world turned into a battlefield again as Arthur and Suko landed behind the Spinosaurus. The 'spined lizard' turned around and looked at them. He wasn't sure why they were here but he craned his neck in a pouncing position.
The two enhanced dinosaurs looked at each other before getting into an attacking position. Arthur and Suko roared before meeting the Spinosaurus in a headlock.
The change of battlefield didn't go unnoticed to a certain stone holder.
Jackson, who had been bored out of his mind with his family as he observed the great Pyramids, saw the change in color in the sky.
"A battlefield?" he whispered to himself before seeing a nearby porta potty. "Hey, mom. I gotta go," the African American lied.
"Well, okay, honey," his mom said as she continued to take pictures of her husband 'holding up' the pyramid.
Jackson quickly left and hid behind the portable restroom. He pulled out his Dino Holder and phone, finding it blown up with missed calls from his friends. The Dino Holder, on the other hand, was blinking with three separate dinosaur signals. Jackson didn't need to be told twice and secretly went on his rescue mission.
At the D-Lab, Fiona had just figured out a way to transport them to Egypt in no time at all. The team was standing on a platform underneath a large lamp like a dinosaur mouth, with Spencer constantly running back and forth with supplies, while she explained her working theory.
"So, let me get this straight. You believe you can teleport us to where the dinosaurs are?" Anderson repeated.
"I believe the dinosaur search function and the transport function are linked together," Fiona nodded and explained, "Now all we need to do is a test run."
"Is it dangerous?" Tiffany weakley asked.
"You'll be fine," Fiona said before a quick mutter, "Probably." The younger sister had heard the last minute comment before slumping over. She just had to be the genius, didn't she?
"And don't forget me!" Spencer said as he came over, carrying a multitude of objects like an umbrella and a spear. "I'm a paleontologist! A dinosaur expert could be really handy out there!" He was not going to let any opportunity of a wild dinosaur appearing slip out of his hands.
While the present teenagers rolled their eyes, Anderson smiled at his dad, "Great! Let's go!"
"Yes!" the paleontologist exclaimed, getting himself on the platform.
Anderson pressed a button and soon the outline of the platform began to glow. His friends followed in sync before Anderson, Tyler, Tate, and Henry vanished without a trace as the light died down.
Everyone just stood there, blinking as they looked at where Max was just standing before. "It worked!" Cole exclaimed as he checked to make sure that Anderson was gone. "For some reason, it only works on Anderson and Tyler." The Latino turned to Fiona for an explanation.
Fiona jotted her notes down, "Note to self. Only those with a dinosaur and stone can be transported."
Cole and Tiffany nodded. They would have to wait for their partners to arrive before they could help their friend out. Spencer, though, had a different reaction.
"It's not fair!" he cried with anime tears, "I wanted to go too!" Kierra just patted the crying adult on the back as she was in the same position.
'Hope I get my own partner soon,' she thought.
After almost less than a second pressing the button, both the Fire and Lightning Stone users found themselves in a desert. "So it worked!" Anderson cheered. Now they could teleport to find any dinosaur not within their location.
Tyler immediately noticed the battlefield, "The Alpha Gang must be here already!"
Tate sniffed the air to get his bearings. The sight of the pyramids -if he remembered correctly- were everywhere. He turned his head before seeing another human running towards them.
"Anderson? Tyler?" Jackson said, panting as he ran in the heat.
"Jackson! Boy, is it good to see you!" Tyler said with relief.
"Yeah," the African American said with a hint of confusion, "Quick question. How did you two get here?"
"Teleportation," they said in unison.
"... Normally I would ask how, but given we have a dinosaur on our hands, I can wonder about that later."
Meanwhile, the Spinosaurus was panting heavily while his two opponents looked like they were still full of energy. The 'spined lizard' looked for a method of escaping his adversaries. The gray theropod figured he could probably outrun the Acrocanthosaurus but the Suchomimus might get them. But he had a plan if it came to that. The Spinosaurus turned tailed and ran.
Suko was about to charge before Arthur stomped in front of him. "Hey! What gives?"
"Seems the kids are here," Arthur told his companion as Suko turned to see them himself. "Up for some revenge?"
"Like you have to ask!" With hatred in their minds, they rushed towards the trio of kids.
In the rocket, Zander was watching everything unfold from his periscope. "OK, good news: the Spinosaurus looks like it can't handle much more."
"And the bad news," Ursula dryly asked.
"The brats with dinosaurs appeared and one doesn't have any. Arthur and Suko are attacking them now. Should we let them?"
Ursula only laughed. She waved her hand in a relaxed manner. "Let them have their fun. Besides, it gives us more time to relax in this cozy little rocket of ours." She slumped down in her seat.
Back on the ground, the enhanced theropods were almost at the teenagers.
"Uh-oh!" Anderson alarmed before getting Tate to his card, Tyler following his actions.
"Get ready, Henry!"
Grabbing them, they flashed their cards to look cool, and slashed through the slot, using their battle cry.
"DINO SLASH! FLAME UP, TYRANNOSAURUS REX!"
"DINO SLASH! TRICERATOPS, ROAR!"
In a dimension of electricity, Henry spun around in the air as his transformation began. First, his legs grew with lightning, then his horns. Finally, his eyes flashed and the Triceratops spun around and roared.
The two infamous dinosaurs appeared before roaring. Anderson cracked a smile, "Now we got 'em!"
"Go for it guys!" Tyler cheered.
All four dinosaurs charged at one another: Arthur meeting Tate and Suko matching Henry. Chunks from the earth came up from the ground as the collision shook everything. The Spinosaurus, who was lying down at the time, looked over and began to watch the fight. Part of him was curious as the rex teamed up with the trike but he waited before taking action.
After a while, Tate backed away for a new approach but let himself open to Arthur grabbing his neck and throwing him onto the ground.
"Tate!" Henry cried which caused him to lose focus.
"Bad move!" Suko replied as he knocked Henry to the side with his head. He then went to his stomach and pushed him across the ground. "Never take your eyes off your opponent!" He lectured before ramming him into the Sphinx. While the Suchomimus constantly rammed the trike, Arthur grabbed Tate by his neck and slammed him repeatedly into the ground.
"No! Come on!" Anderson cried as Tyler said, "You can do it, guys!" Their Dino Holders began to blink red and they assumed the worst.
"Wait! Our Move Cards!" Tyler remembered.
"Oh, yeah!" Anderson exclaimed before pressing a button to eject Volcano Burst.
This didn't go unnoticed though.
"Better watch out. The brats are using their Move Cards again," Zander said from his cockpit.
"What?" Ursula asked as she slowly sat up from her cozy seat.
Ed 'filled' her in, "Remember what happened last time? They kicked our butts with those Moves!"
Ursula then had a depressed look on her face, "Oh, gee, I'm so upset," before it switched to a triumphant look, "Not! I have a card, too!" She pulled out Alison's card from her scanner, "Ha, ha, ha! Go!" She cried while slashing it.
Of course, she made an error at the summoning.
"Ursula, no!" Ed cried.
"You can't do that here!" Zander added but it was already too late.
The rocket bulged out until it couldn't anymore. It burst, sending the Alpha Gang flying in all directions as the Allosaurus formed and landed in front of the teenagers.
The impact was enough to make the boys stumble over, the brunette and blonde losing their Move Cards in the process. "Our Move Cards!"
Anderson scrambled to get them before a black theropod foot blocked his view. He looked up to see the Allosaurus.
"Hello," she said with a smug tone, "Were those your Move Cards?"
The three boys growled as they tried to think of something to do. Suddenly something else landed in front of them.
A blue glow appeared and suddenly Alison was hit across the face with a gray tail. The boys looked behind and the Spinosaurus repeatedly smacked the Allosaurus with his tail. Soon he stopped after the third smack and the Jurassic theropod fell down. The gray theropod roared at his counterattack.
Alison got up and was clearly pissed off. "Oh! So you think you can just sit around and wait like you're some fancy saurus just to fight me!" She stomped her foot in defiance. "Get a load of this!" She rammed the theropod in the chest before running away. A hit and run tactic. Alison managed to score several more hits with her agile style until the Spinosaurus fell to the ground, not fully recovered from his earlier fight.
"Hope you like being a card," Alison sneered before crushing the neck of the spinosaurid.
The boys got up and punched the Allosaurus the best they could do. "Leave him alone!"
"Yeah!"
"He's not going with you at all!" Jackson declared.
Annoyed by the attempts, the Allosaurus merely stomped her leg, creating a small tremor. She was able to snare Tyler within her tail. "How about you two leave or the one I'm holding gets eaten," she threatened.
Both Anderson and Jackson could only watch as Tate and Henry were pounded to no end, the Spinosaurus losing consciousness and Tyler being held hostage.
'What now?!' they thought.
Suddenly two bright lights of green and white appeared out of nowhere. The boys and Alison shielded their eyes, the carnivore dropping Tyler to the ground. Out of the glow came two people the boys were both surprised and really happy to see.
"Cole?! Tiffany?!"
The other two looked at the gathered party with worried expressions but those shifted to a determined expression.
"Are you ready, Tif?!" Cole asked, pressing buttons.
"Like you have to ask!" She replied before doing the same.
When Cole pressed a button, a card ejected from his Dino Holder. He grabbed it, struck a pose, and flashed the card: showing a picture of a Carnotaurus. He swiped the card against his slot and wind blustered out.
"DINO SLASH! CARNOTAURUS, BLOW THEM AWAY!"
A miniature version of the dinosaur was soon spinning in the air. Its dark-blue legs grew with a burst of wind. Little bumps all over its back grew, and the yellow horns on its head grew before its eyes glowed. Doing a backflip, the Carnotaurus roared to signal his completed transformation. The Carnotaurus was mostly dark blue with yellows stripes and horns.
All three boys looked with amazement while Tiffany posed and flashed her own card and slid against the slot, grass coming off as she did.
"DINO SLASH! PARASAUROLOPHUS, BLOOM!"
The little herbivore spun around in the air before its back legs grew with a burst of grass, then its forelegs grew, finished by a large cone-like shape on its head before the eyes glowed. The Parasaurlophus reared up on its back legs and roared, signaling her appearance. The Parasaurolophus was a light green with a blue cone, dark green stripe, and a white stomach.
The boys' shock continued at the sight of the hadrosaur. The two summoned dinosaurs immediately charged, ramming the Allosaurus off the Spinosaurus, who immediately regained his breath and rose, now pissed off himself.
Anderson and Tyler regained their Move Cards and rushed back into the fight.
Arthur had thrown Tate on the ground one last time before seeing the Spinosaurus appear and rammed him off the rex.
The 'spined lizard' glowed blue before a whirlpool surrounded himself. The theropod roared, sending tendrils of the whirlpool that consumed the Acrocanthosaurus. The enhanced magenta dinosaur shook his head around, trying to get free, choking on water only to get headbutted by the Spinosaurus.
This distracted Suko long enough to not to see the Carnotaurus sprinting and bashing his stomach. The Suchomimus hissed before running away from his target, going to assist his non-boastful ally.
The Carnotaurus examined Henry. The trike was too weak to open his eyes and the 'meat-eating bull' made his observation, "He's hurt! And bad!"
Tyler had a worried look on his face as he began to fear the worst. A hand was on his shoulder and turned to see Tiffany with a determined look in her eyes. "Don't worry, guys. This should help." She ejected a Move Card from her holder and activated the card.
"Nature's Blessing! Reenergize Henry, Tate, and the Spinosaurus!" She announced.
The hadrosaur glowed green as leaves began to surround her body. The ornithopod roared as a tornado of green energy erupted from her mouth. The energy landed on the targets and soon all three felt their strength back.
The Spinosaurus gave Arthur a nasty bite to the neck, making the latter back away. In the wild dinosaur's mind, he was surprised to have the hadrosaur heal him. Maybe they were on his side? That would be something he would ask one of the mammals later after this fight.
Tate and Henry slowly got up onto their feet. The trika gave a roar as he returned to the battle. He looked and saw who was the one who healed him. A female Parasaurolophus? Instantly, he remembered the two cards from Dr. Messinger.
"What was that?" Anderson asked, bewildered by the move.
"That was one of her moves," Tiffany winked.
"Hey, Anderson! Tyler!" They both turned to Cole, "Let's use all our Moves at once to finish this up!"
"What? You have a Move Card too?!" Tyler gasped in surprise.
The Latino gave a trademark smirk, "Yeah, you two in?"
"Oh, yeah!"
"Payback time!"
The Spinosaurus had clashed with Suko in a headlock before the former glowed blue and landed his Tail Smash attack.
"All right, Tate! Let's take this dino for a spin! Neck Crusher!" Anderson announced as he got his second Move Card out.
Tate glowed red and charged with vigor towards Suko. The spino backed away and allowed the rex to lift the sucho up, spun around and landed a tail smack on Suko's neck. "Not so funny having your neck smashed now, is it?!" He roared at the Suchomimus.
Cole then grabbed his Move Card, "Cyclone!" His summoned dinosaur roared as he glowed white. Clouds began to form as a tornado soon came down over him. Instead of harming him, the navy blue theropod roared and made a barrier of wind. He charged at Alison, who just recovered from being knocked down.
"H-hey now! Let's talk about this!" she stammered, her boastful attitude gone. She planned to run away with her speed but the Carnotaurus managed to grab her by the tail and threw her into a pyramid.
"Electric Charge!" Tyler ended their assault. Henry got his electrical powers again and charged towards Arthur this time. The Acrocanthosaurus attempted to dodge, but was too slow and the trike struck him once again. The theropod was sent flying right into the head of the Sphinx, causing him to card on impact and the statue to lose its head.
The teenagers cheered and the dinosaurs all roared in victory, The two other carnivores reverted back to cards and were swiped in an instant. Anderson gasped and then raced towards Arthur's card but it too was swiped by a long claw that came from nowhere. Suddenly, a camel appeared with three laughing mummies on its back, one of them holding the claw with the cards. Or at least they looked like mummies but they could talk, "Who's your mummy now?" One mocked.
The teens, Henry, and Tate recognized the voices as the Alpha Gang. The Carnotaurus and Parasaurolophus saw their summoners' reaction and assumed they were threats while the Spinosaurus hissed at the trio of idiots.
"Well, I admit," Ursula said, "You caught us off guard with your new dinosaurs but now it's time to initiate our secret attack! Attack, Spinosaurus!"
Said dinosaurs gave a look at the three idiots. As if he was going to attack the ones who supported and defended him from being beaten. He hissed as he stood with the teenagers.
Jackson cracked himself a smile, "Seems like he made up his mind." He patted the leg of the theropod before they both got a blue aura.
The Spinosaurus officially spoke, "Your dinosaurs literally threatened to kill me. Plus you attacked kids which technically makes you bad guys. So… Buh-bye!"
Ursula's face instantly morphed into rage and before she said anything with colorful language, Zander covered her mouth. He and Ed did not want to start a fight when there were five angry dinosaurus in front of them, and they had nothing to defend themselves.
"Well, it's been fun chatting, but now we must be off. Onwards, camel!" Zander said, kicking their mode of transportation. Unfortunately, the camel started to move in a reverse direction, "I said onwards, not backwards!"
"They just keep getting weirder," Anderson mused to his friends, who nodded in agreement.
The Spinosaurus turned his attention to the humans and summoned dinos, "Thanks for the help back there. Not sure I would have been able to take those three on myself."
"No problem," Henry said, "We are a herd. We look out for each other."
"A herd… Never been a part of that before, but in this new world I would rather stick with those I know."
After turning their dinosaurs back into cards, and Henry and Tate into chibi-form, Cole, Tiffany, and Jackson decided to properly introduce their new partners.
"Hey, guys, wanna meet Cy," Cole asked as he swiped the card backwards. A miniature version of the Carnotaurus appeared next to him.
"Pleased to meet you all," Cy said with a bow.
Tiffany swiped her card next, calling out a miniature Parasaurolophus, "And this is Peyton." She crouched down and introduced the parasaur, who was completely quadrupedal in this form.
"Why that?" Tyler asked.
"Well, she's a Parasaurolophus, but I think Peyton is a cute name. Like it?"
Peyton did a little dance on her hind legs, making cute, small noises before noticing the others watching. She soon shrunk back in shyness and hid behind Tiffany. "I like it," she said in a soft tone.
And finally, Jackson swiped his official partner's card, calling out a miniature Spinosaurus.
"And I'll name you… Simon," the African American declared.
"Simon… Simon… Simon," the Spinosaurus said in different tones and accents before accepting it, "Works for me!"
Anderson smiled at his three new teammates. But soon, he remembered something important and his eyes widened in realization. "I just forgot! We don't know how to get back home!"
Tyler's face adopted panic as well before Cole answered them, "It's in the manual. All we have to do is put the Dino Holder in reverse and we should be back home."
The Latino began to admire the location, "Can you believe it? We're really here in Egypt."
His friends except Jackson looked around and realized he was right. With no dinosaurs running amuck or fighting, they now were able to start to fully grasp they were standing in the Pyramids of Giza; one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
"You know," Jackson said, "I should probably get back to my family. My mom is probably wondering where I am right now." He turned Simon back into his card, waved his friends goodbye and left in a rush.
Tiffany then had a smile on her face, "Hey, guys, why don't we stay here for a week or two for some site-seeing?"
Everyone liked the idea except Cole and Cy, the former mentioning, "Tiffany, we kind of have school tomorrow, and I don't know how we would explain our absences. Jackson can't exactly cover for all of us." Cy nodded in agreement, while he didn't know what school was, he did know they weren't prepared to survive in the desert.
The others slumped over in disappointment. "Smart people ruin everything," Tyler muttered to himself.
Cole then smirked, "I didn't say we couldn't stay a little while longer."
Everyone soon got huge smiles on their faces. This was going to be fun. They all ran off in different directions while Cole stayed behind with Cy. He began to recall the multiple places dinosaurus have occurred.
"Tate and Henry were found in our town, Simon in Egypt, and you and Peyton came from Alberta. You think there may be more cards all over the world?" he asked his partner.
Cy paused a bit to think, "It seems most likely. I don't know how much the world's changed, but I do know the more cards we keep away from the Alpha Gang, the more dinosaurus that will be safe."
Cole nodded in agreement. This was more serious than they thought. It was their job to save the dinosaurus from the hands of evil.
Back on Zeta Point, Dr. Z looked into his repaired test tube. Inside were multiple Move Cards for his enhanced dinosaurs.
"Yes!" He cheered. "My Move Cards have finally been completed. Soon I'll have enough of these to make my dinosaur kingdom unstoppable!" He laughed maniacally to himself before noticing something.
"Shouldn't those three fools be back from Egypt?" He asked himself.
The trio was currently having their hands full with a runaway camel.
"Don't desert us in the desert!" Ursula yelled at their fleeing transportation.
"Lucky for us it's a rental, huh?" Ed joked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Lucky for you! We put this camel on my credit card! Get back here!" Zander yelled as they chased the camel into the sunset.
Next time on Dinosaur King: Paleontology Unearthed:
Anderson: You look terrible.
Kierra: Thanks, I didn't get a wink of sleep last night.
Zander: According to Dr. Z, the dinosaur was detected right in this tunnel!
(An Ankylosaurus roars as Kierra stands alongside him against an Alpha Gang dinosaur)
And the third chapter is now done.
Quick notes: I decided to give the Alpha Gang, five starting dinosaurs. One for the fight in the tunnel in the next chapter and another that will be revealing down the line.
Anyways, meet Alison the enhanced Allosaurus. A hotshot, boastful reptile of the team.
And then we have our new partners.
Cy the Carnotaurus is like Ace: calm, collected, and analytical.
Peyton the Parasaurolophus is like Paris: sweet, gentle, and the team's support as of right now.
And Simon the Spinosaurus, the comedic relief of the story.
Changing up the storyline, the Ankylosaurus episode in substitute for Tank's episode. As I mentioned in the first chapter, I will be changing some of the dinosaurs location/episodes. The Ankylosaurus will be the main Earth-type dinosaur.
Drew Luczynski: Yes the dinosaurs talk. Was thinking about not really doing it, but I decided to. And the Alphasaurs are no longer mute. They can now speak thanks to Trenton. As for the herbivore and carnivore dynamic it will be resolved, the two species getting along as you can see with Tate and Henry enjoying each other's company.
DecimalPlace: Thanks for the encouragement. Glad you like my story as much as I like yours. Can't wait for the sequel.
Keep an eye for the next chapter. No flames please.
