A/N: I do not own anything related to Dinosaur King. Just my OCs.
In the Amazon rainforest, a heavy downpour had arrived. As rain fell, hard rocks began to erode and turn to mud before they soon collapsed into the large river. As some did, a capsule fell from a cliff and began to float along the current until it got caught between two rocks. Soon the capsule opened up, containing a single card. And as the rain fell onto it, the card activated.
From a blue glow, a Saltasaurus emerged with a roar. He had a green neck, legs, and tail while his head and armored back was dark brown. As the sauropod raised his head and lightning flashed behind it, a lizard that was hiding in a nearby tree hissed at the arrival of its ancestor.
As the sun set around Zeta Point, the large map of the work began to blink. Something Dr. Z immediately took notice of.
"A dinosaur!" He cried with stars in his eyes, "The Alpha Scanner has detected a dinosaur, so let's get a move-out!" he ordered.
"Yeah, give us a minute," Ursula said.
The 'king' turned around angrily to see she was in a chess match against Zander while Ed was watching and eating chocolate sticks, "So I guess it's my move, right?"
"Yes, it still is," Zander answered, grooming his long hair, "I thought you said chess was a game of quick thinking?"
"Yes! But I meant for you, not for me!" Ursula looked down at the board, "What am I supposed to do when all of your men have surrounded my beautiful queen?"
Sure enough, the board was full of black pieces -Zander's side- and only one white piece that conveniently looked like Urusla.
Ed, who was watching in amusement, commented, "Don't worry, 'cause no matter what you do you're going to lose anyway." He took a bite of the chocolate stick he was eating and laughed to himself.
Ursula snatched the snack away from him, "Who asked you?!"
"Hello! Am I talking to myself here?! I need you three bozos to go out on a mission now!" Dr. Z intervened, having grown impatient at his recon team's antics.
"Yes, sir!" Ursula saluted as she stood up, "Your fearless team stands ready for action." Without looking, she kicked the table behind her, "There. I made my move."
Surprisingly, all the pieces fell off the board, except for Ursula's piece.
"Amazing," Zander commented as he and Ed looked at the results in awe.
"How'd she do that?" Ed asked no one in particular.
"Oh, look at that! I won!" Ursula cheered.
At the Snipes household, Tyler quickly ran down the stairs and hid in the closet below them. As he did, his friends and their partners walked on the scene.
"Uh, hey, Tyler? What are you doing in the closet?" Cole asked.
Tyler quickly opened the door to quiet his friends down. "Shh! Quiet! I'm testing out Henry's sense of smell." He said as he looked up, waiting for the Triceratops to come down.
"Why would you do that?" Cy asked.
"Because it's fun. I want to see if he has a good enough nose to find me," Tyler answered before he heard footsteps at the top of the stairs "Quiet! Here he comes." He said before quickly closing the door.
Soon the chibi Triceratops landed at the bottom of the stairs and began sniffing around, "All right, now where are you?"
"Looking for something, Henry?" Tony asked.
Henry didn't pay any attention to the anky as he continued sniffing before catching a familiar scent. "Gotcha!" He cheered before running to the closet door and began to paw at it.
"Way to go! You found me!" Tyler cheered and leaned down to hug Henry, only for the Triceratops to jump out of his way. Tyler looked to see Henry pulling a large bag out of the closet. "You smelled dog food?"
"Huh? Oh, hey, I found you!" Henry said before turning his attention to the bag, trying to get it open. Despite it being dog food, it was actually a new type of food that Fiona created. It was made of plant materials, making it more suitable for the herbivores. Ms. Snipes didn't seem to care that Henry required this kind of dog food over the regular kind since it meant she wouldn't have to drive to the store constantly, she could just ask Fiona to make more.
Cole and the others giggled as the scene played out in front of them, "Good nose! At least he'll never go hungry."
"That's right," Kierra added, "Looks like your smell test was a success."
"Yeah, he'll smell you if you have that dog food smell," Cy said, "Herbivore noses are better at smelling plants since that's what they eat. Carnivores could smell meat a lot better, so me, Tate or Simon would have better results."
"Yeah, but Henry's my partner." Tyler said as he began shaking the bag trying to get Henry off. Soon the blonde sniffed the air and smelt a familiar scent. "Speaking of smells." He said to himself before looking over the counter. Sure enough, sitting there was one of his favorite meals of all time.
"Hamburgers!" He cheered as he ran over. "Your hamburgers are the best, Mom!" He cheered before putting his hands together in a praying manner. "Don't mind if I do," he said before the plate was snatched by Maria, Tyler's mother.
"Nice try. You know you have to wait until dinner time," She said with an all-knowing smile. She expected Tyler to sneak one early.
"Please, Mom!" Tyler pleaded.
"You have to wait for everyone else," Maria answered sternly.
"I'll take one to my room and eat it," Tyler bargained.
"No, Tyler," She said, moving the plate away from her son.
As that happened, Henry kept trying to open the dog food bag and the others watched. "When it comes to food, those two are almost alike," Tiffany commented.
"Yeah," Anderson said. He knew Tyler was a foodie but having a pet that was just as obsessed with food was more than enough. At least he didn't have that kind of issue with Tate.
Soon the Dino Holder began beeping and everyone looked at it. Even Tyler stopped to see what was going on. "Oh!" Another card had appeared.
Everyone soon gathered at the D-Lab while Fiona prepared the transportation. "The signal is coming from the Amazon Rainforest."
"Ah, the Amazon," Spencer said with a dreamy expression. He currently had a backpack and was holding tons of supplies, "The world's largest rainforest, home to countless exotic plants and animals. Oh boy, what I wouldn't give to be able to come along."
"You say that everytime, Dad, but you can't," his son said with a deadpan expression.
"Leave everything to us, Dr. Merlos," Cole assured him.
While this made Spencer feel slightly better, he decided to give the kids his supplies so they wouldn't get harmed on the mission. "Now listen: take this for insect bites, use this for stomach ache, use this one for snake bites, and this is to keep piranhas away, and this one is for bad breath."
As he gave the supplies to Anderson, the brunette began juggling all the objects in his hands so they wouldn't fall out. "OK, Dad." He said underneath all the sprays while gaining balance.
"We better get moving, people. Unless you want the Alpha Gang to get there before us," Simon said.
"Right," Anderson agreed, "See ya, Dad." The three kids pushed a button and soon all twelve began to teleport.
"Be careful, kids!" Spencer warned before they finally left. When they did, the treatments and supplies he gave Anderson soon fell to the floor. "Gah! All of the treatments didn't transport!" He said with concern and began picking them up, "Maybe I should-"
"They're fine," Fiona interrupted, "Tate and the others will protect them."
"Not from bad breath," Spencer said underneath his anime-tears as he cried.
Sunlight made its way through the canopy as the teenagers arrived at their location. Once they did, Anderson began to walk around.
"Now which way to the dinosaur?" He asked.
"Well, the transporter puts us in a general location, but it doesn't tell us which way," Cole said as he scratched his head.
Tiffany looked around to see and saw no signs of the dinosaur either, "Hear anything, Peyton?" She asked her partner who had the best hearing out of all of them.
The hadrosaur concentrated for a few seconds before shaking her head, "Mm-mmm, sorry."
"I'm not getting anything from my nose," Tate said as he had his nose in the air, "Must not be in this area."
"OK, then, let's start looking," Tyler declared, "Remember, this is a dangerous jungle so be careful every-WHOA!" He soon found himself sliding down a muddy hill into a puddle below.
"Tyler!" His teammates yelled before they slid down the hill, much more controlled and met him at the bottom. "You OK?" Tony asked.
"Yeah," the blonde said as he whipped the mud from his body, "See what I mean." He said trying to cover up his mistake.
"Could've been worse," Cole said, helping him up, "At least you didn't land in quicksand."
"That cliff really needs a sign on it," Simon said.
Before Tyler could respond he noticed something important. "Guys, where's Henry?" He asked. The group looked around, and sure enough, there was no hide or scale of the little Triceratops.
Said Triceratops was walking around the jungle aimlessly looking for the rest of the team. "Guys, where are you?" He asked as he looked around before stopping as he had a realization.
"Oh, you're still testing my smell, aren't you guys? Not the best place to do so, I'm game." He said before followed a butterfly he found in the jungle.
Unfortunately that was the wrong realization.
After Tyler got out of the mud, he and the others soon started looking for both dinosaurs.
"Henry?!"
"Where are you?!"
"Three horns?!"
"Vegetables are disgusting!" Tony looked at Simon questionably.
"What does that have to do with our situation right now?" He asked the spino.
"If I say something that offends him he'll come out and get his revenge," Simon explained with a smug expression, "I saw it on TV so it's full-proof."
"Is he always like this?" The anky whispered to Cy and Peyton.
"More or less," the dinos answered.
"... Meh, I can get used to it," Tony said before continuing to look.
Tyler soon sat down to rest his legs, "We're never going to find him in this place. Poor Henry." He said as he began to fear the worst.
"You know what, Tyler," Cole told him, "I think he's still playing right hide and seek."
"Wha-" Tyler soon remembered the game they played right before they started the mission.
"He must think it's your turn to find him, or that you're playing another round," Cy theorized.
"This isn't exactly the ideal place to have hide and seek," Simon said, "It's too big, insects everywhere, quicksand, rivers, too many hiding spaces-"
"I know that!" Tyler exclaimed as he grabbed his hair in frustration, "That's why I need you guys to help me find him." Soon the six teenagers went in different directions to cover more ground with their dinosaur partners except Simon who was still busy listing the dangers of playing hide and seek in the Amazon.
"Jaguars, giant otters, caimans, electric eels- wait where did everyone go? Oh right, splitting in the Amazon. Good idea!" He said before running in a different direction.
"This place is huge. How am I ever going to find Henry in the Amazon?" Tyler asked himself as he searched through the jungle. Just then an idea clicked into his head. "Of course! The Dino Holder should be able to locate him!"
He began pressing buttons on his Dino Holder to get Henry's signal, but the screen remained blank. "Oh, it's dead," He groaned, "Must have gotten wet." This day was getting worse and worse by the minute.
"Henry, where are you?! Come out, now!" He yelled angrily as he stomped through the jungle, not realizing that he was lost himself.
The other five teenagers and their partners, sans Simon, had regrouped at the side of a river. "Any luck?" Anderson asked.
"No," the others said in unison before Tiffany noticed something, "Hey, Anderson, where did Tyler and Simon go?"
"What? I thought they went with Cole," Anderson said.
"I thought they were with Kierra," the Latino defended.
"Wouldn't Simon have gone with Jackson," the female brunette responded.
Just then, Simon came out from the water, "Oh, there you guys are!"
"Simon, where were you?" Jackson asked his partner while picking him up from the river.
"Well, if we were playing hide and seek ourselves I would have found you all but since I see a lack of Tyler I'm going to guess we have lost him," the spino said.
Just then, everyone realized they screwed up.
"Tyler!"
"Ok, everyone remain calm," Cy said, which didn't help as Anderson panicked.
"Remain calm?! At a time like this?! We are in the Amazon!"
"Which is why we are sticking together from here on out," Cole said, easing the young Merlos' behavior.
Just then, the sound of trees falling filled the air. "Let's go!" Anderson told them as the team went towards the direction of the sound.
High in the air, a giant blimp that had to be rowed for propulsion was being driven by the Alpha Gang.
Or rather Zander and Ed since Urusla was 'supporting' them through a megaphone.
"Stroke! Stroke! And stroke! Come on, you two! Pull that oar! Let's go, guys! I'm helping the best that I can," Ursula said cheerfully.
Zander rolled his eyes as he looked around. Soon he noticed something sticking out of the jungle. "Ah! One spiky-back Saltasaurus dead ahead!" He announced and pointed in its direction.
Ursula looked where he was painting and, sure enough, there was the sauropod's head and back poking through the canopy.
"Oh, yes! That's a good one, too!" She cheered, "Lucky I found him." Her expression soon changed to annoyance, "Why haven't we landed yet! I want gasbag on the ground right now!"
"Yes, captain," her two lackeys droned before a devious idea entered their heads.
"Hey, she really wants us to land this in a hurry, huh, Zander?" Ed whispered with a small smile.
"We'd better give the admiral what she wants," Zander replied with his own smile.
"Ok, here it goes."
Ed and Zander let go of the oars, chuckling quietly to themselves. Ursula paled instantly, seeing when the oars stopped rowing.
"Uh-oh."
Immediately the blimp began falling from the sky at an accelerating rate. "Are you two insane?!" She yelled at them.
"Well, you said you wanted it landed immediately!" Ed retorted.
"You know what I meant you, morons!" Ursula snarled before the blimp made a crashing landing.
On land, the teens made it to where the dinosaur was. "There it is! A Saltasaurus!" Anderson idenitfied.
"You're right. I can tell 'cause of the boney plates on his back," Kierra confirmed.
"A today's dinosaur is... Saltasaurus," Simon said with the illusionary words in the air,"Word of advice, those plates do not contain salt."
"And you know this how?" Tony questioned.
"... I would… rather not discuss how I know," Simon whistled, not looking the anky in the eyes.
"Lucky for us he's another plant-eater and not a predator," Peyton said quietly.
"No kidding," Tiffany replied.
"Ok, Tate, it's time for you to go to work," Anderson said as he got his Dino Holder out. The rex got into a fighting stance and was ready to battle.
The sauropod didn't notice the humans and miniature dinos before and continued on his way. But he was shortly stopped when a yellow glow appeared.
When the glow died down, a Torosaurus with magenta colored frill and yellow like flames down his hide roared.
Soon the jungle turned into a battlefield. Tyler noticed this and quickly turned around when he heard the Saltasaurus roar. "What was that?"
As the two dinosaurus stared at each other, the rest of the teens and their dinos arrived on the scene.
"So unless Henry can both grow on his own and turn into a Torosaurus now, that's not him," Simon said.
"A new dinosaur?" Kierra realized like Slasher.
"Where did that one come from?" Tate roared in annoyance. Just another dino to stand in their way.
"And if that pattern is a symbol of anything, that means-" Cole was cut off by the Alpha Gang announcing their presence.
Zander and Ed were both rubbing large bumps on their heads made by Urusla after crashing the blimp while Zander had the scanner he used to call out the Torosaurus in his hands. Ursula laughed maniacally before addressing the brats, "I hope you didn't forget us. Need I to jog your memory; Ursula, Zander, and Ed. Hi."
"Great. The old lady," Tiffany frowned.
Which set off the 'old lady.' It took both Zander and Ed to keep from killing the Grass Stone user where she stood. "Would you stop calling me old! I'm not old!"
"She said bold lady, not old!" Ed told her.
"Right: bold, strong, brave!" Zander backed up.
This managed to calm down Urusla, "Oh." She simply said as she believed she misheard. Then she went back into her leadership position. "Alright, Major, get in there and tear them all to pieces!" She commanded.
"Yes, ma'am!" the Torosaurus said with a military like tone. "Ten hut, maggot! You are about to be recruited into the army of the Alpha Gang! This is your audition so impress! Or perish at the might of Major!"
"Why did Trenton have to make him such a drill sergeant," the trio muttered.
Major roared before charging toward the sauropod. The Saltasaurus got into a defensive position as Major lowered his horns. He bashed horns first and tried to knock the Saltasaurus over. The 'lizard of Salta' responded by hitting him with his plated back causing the enhanced ceratopsian to be knocked back. He backed away before roaring at him.
"Go! Hit him again!" The Alpha Gang yelled at the same time.
"I don't think we want to put Tate and the others out there," Anderson suggested as his friends nodded in agreement.
"Come on. We can handle those guys," Tate complained as he wanted to battle the new dinosaurs.
"Tate, no," Anderson scolded him.
The rex could only growl as he had to sit on the sideline for this fight.
Tyler was having a lousy time himself.
"I can't find Henry. I can't find the new dinosaur. I can't even find myself in this jungle without my Dino Holder." Tyler ranted to himself. He kept pushing buttons trying to get anything to happen.
"Why won't this dumb thing power up. Come on!" He groaned. He then sighed and sat on a fallen tree. "It's hopeless." His stomach then growled, adding on to the list. "Man, I'm hungry. I wish I had a couple of those hamburgers." Tyler then got a worried look on his face. "I bet Henry's hungry too, wherever he is." His expression soon turned to upset one as he began calling for his friend again.
"Hey, Henry!"
The miniature ceratopsian was currently walking through the jungle looking for Tyler. Although he still thought they were playing a game.
"All right, now if I was Tyler where would I hide?" He said as he looked around. "Hmm, normally in these games don't we swap positions? You'd think we'd go over the rules before we-"
Henry stopped his self-talk before a realization hit.
"Oh my gosh, WE AREN'T PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK AT ALL!" He screamed to the top of his lungs which would definitely attract a predator, one that would definitely make a meal out of him.
Henry was too busy panicking to realize his other mistake, "This is bad! I've wandered off from the herd! That's the worst thing that could happen in a situation like this! Why did I have to be so stupid?!"
Just then, the water erupted and a crocodile emerged.
"Whoa!" Henry cried as he dodged the snapping jaws. He soon recovered and got into a fighting stance, glaring at the modern day reptile. The croc roared and charged with its jaws wide open.
This whole jungle was turning into a giant battlefield.
Birds took to the sky as the battle between the Saltasaurus and Major continued.
"Damn it! The maggot's armor is too tough to take on directly," the enhanced Torosaurus said, "I'll have to attack from below!" Major charged forward, this time aiming for the belly. The Saltasaurus responded by swinging his neck, knocking him back.
As the fight went on, the chosen Stone users watched in amazement. "Wow! That Saltasaurus is incredible!" Cole said, bewildered by the sauropod's performance.
"It looks like he's going to win!" Peyton cheered.
The Alpha Gang, on the other hand, weren't having such joy. "Urusla," Zander told her, "Just give it up already. Throw in the towel."
"That thing is kicking Major's butt. And it's his first battle," Ed added.
"I am not losing!" Major defended himself as he overheard them, "I'm just… looking for a weak-point! And besides, I'm letting him win."
Ursula turned away in disgust, "Thank you for your confidence," she said before smirking, "I still have a trick up my sleeve." She said pulling out the Move Card with a Lightning symbol on it. "Remember our little trump card?"
"Oh, yeah. The Move Card," Zander said.
"But you don't have any sleeves," Ed said, eyeing her outfit.
"It's an expression!" Ursula snapped, causing the two to cringe in fear. "Swipe the card! Let's catch a dinosaur!" She said as she tossed the card to Zander.
The tall man pulled his scanner back out and slashed the card right through it. "Go, Torosaurus! Lightning Strike!"
Major let electricity flow to his horns condensing into a single ball. The Saltasaurus didn't know what was happening but he still got an offensive position.
"Aah! Saltasaurus, get out of the way!" Jackson cried. Neither of the teenagers or partners weren't familiar with that move and it didn't bond well with how the Torosaurus was about to use it.
"Hang on, why do they get that move?" Simon said to himself.
The 'lizard of Salta' didn't listen to the African American's warning and charged headfirst.
"Lights out, maggot," Major said before rearing up and firing the ball of electricity that hit the sauropod directly in the chest due to the fact he charged in headfirst. The Saltsaurus was pushed back, unearthing the ground, and was now on his side.
"You held on maggot! That will come in handy when we charge into battle once more!" Major said, advancing forward.
"No! Get up! Get up!" The heroes cried, hoping the Saltasaurus would listen.
"This battle is over," Ursula simply put it. "All right, Major, finish it with one last shot! Come on!" She cheered as she and Ed pumped their fists.
"You can do it," Zander said through the scanner as Major got closer and closer.
Meanwhile, Henry and the croc were still staring each other down. The crocodile charged at Henry again. The little Triceratops responded by jumping over the large reptile and attempting to grab its tail. The modern day reptile swung his tail causing Henry to slam into a tree.
Henry struggled to get back up before continuing to glare at the croc. "I don't have time for you!"
Both reptiles jumped at each other but the tricera jumped onto its back and ran away, leaving the crocodile behind.
The very hungry and angry crocodile.
Major picked up his pace and began to start charging at the Saltasaurus, the Alpha Gang had hopeful looks on their faces while the Stone users had looks of fear. The brown-green sauropod panted heavily as Major got ready to finish the fight.
Suddenly, a green tail smacked the enhanced ceratopsian in the face, causing to stop his charge.
"What in tarnation?!" He roared before diving back in, only to be greeted by another tail smack before the Saltasaurus started hitting him repeatedly with his tail.
Ursula looked like he was about to fall apart, "I can't take the pressure anymore! Get in there, Major, and finish them off!" She yelled.
"Uh, Ursula?"
She turned to Zander who was holding a blinking red scanner. "This means his energy is low. Maybe he skipped breakfast?" He suggested.
"The most important meal," Ed simply commented.
"What are you talking about?!" Ursula shrieked before beginning to panic. Sure enough, Major collapsed and returned to his card, unable to continue fighting.
"Hey, he returned to the card," Tate pointed out.
"Yeah, and Pebbles' is leaving," Kierra pointed out. Sure enough, the Saltasaurus was back on his feet and was continuing his quest.
"Oh, no! Let's go after him!" Cole told them.
"Right!" the others said before giving chase.
"What went wrong, Zander?" Ursula asked as they went to pick up Major's card.
Zander put on an innocent smile, "Well, now, why don't we ask Major himself." He said as he swiped the card again. Major materialized and collapsed on the ground again."
"OK, Major, explain why you lost," Ursula demanded as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Well, ma'am, an army marches on its stomach. So maybe if someone fed me this morning, I would have more energy!" Major snapped before grabbing a plant right next to him. He munched with a satisfied expression as Ursula shrunk down since it was her turn to feed the dinosaurs.
"Told you he needed breakfast," Zander said before laughing at Ursula's embarrassment.
The 'old lady' ignored him and growled, "Those brats haven't seen the last of me."
"Tyler's log. Day 5. I haven't seen any sign of hope for the last 2 minutes. My hunger is starting to get the best of me. I might have to eat my own hand to survive." Tyler said to himself. He was currently walking through a shallow river with his Dino Holder strapped to his head by two vines, he was also fanning himself with a large lead he found. "I feel I'm starting to descend into madness."
"As if you weren't there already," Tyler told himself.
"Shut up, me!"
"Never! Mwahahahaha!" Tyler laughed maniacally.
Just then the bushes near him began to rustle.
"Is that you Henry?! I've been looking everywhere for you!" he asked hopefully to check the bush. Soon, a small head popped out, one of a lizard.
Tyler fell over in defeat. "Never mind, it's just a lizard." Suddenly, a roar came from behind him as the ground started to shake. He turned around and saw the Saltasaur's head emerge from the trees.
Immediately thinking the worst, Tyler bolted out of there. "Ahh! Why are you chasing me?! You eat plants, and I'm a boy made of meat!" He cried, trying to reason with the Saltasaurus. Despite this, the large herbivore continued on chasing Tyler. Unaware of the true reason.
The rest of the team was by the riverside. They were looking across at the Saltasaurus, who was picking up speed. "Where is he going now?" Cole asked.
"I don't know. Looks like he's chasing something," Jackson theorized.
"What would a sauropod chase?" Tony asked, "All they care about is food. And their food doesn't run away."
"Ever heard of tumbleweed?" Simon quizzily said.
"First off, those are in deserts. Second, I doubt a sauropod would chase after that," the anky said.
"Maybe plants have evolved to have a flight response," the spino replied.
"Help me! Someone!"
"Since when do plants speak?" Simon asked.
Anderson, however, recognized the voice, "Wait a minute, that's-"
"Tyler!" Everyone cried at once when the brunette came into view. He was currently running along the side of the river while the Saltasaurus was walking through part of it.
Once he heard his name, the blonde turned towards the sound and saw his friends. "Huh? Hi!" He said cheerfully while waving before the Saltasaur's foot blocked his view, prompting the fleeing boy to speed up. He hoped the dinosaur would lose interest and he could meet with his friends. Maybe they even found Henry.
"We need to get across this stream, now!" Anderson declared. Again, no one saw Cy slightly flinch at hearing the word 'stream.'
"But the current's too fast. If we go in we'll be swept away," Peyton said as she looked down at the water.
"Well, where are we supposed to find a boat," Simon said, now realizing his running-talking plant idea was absurd.
Just then, a lightbulb went off in Jackson's head. "That's it!" He said, smacking his hands together. "We need something like a boat to get across."
"But we don't have a boat with us," Cole pointed out.
"No. but we do have dinosaurus," Jackson said before he pulled out his Dino Holder.
"Row faster!" Ursula barked as the trio made their way across the stream in a boat they somehow got. If it was from the blimp, that was highly doubtful since they crash-landed it.
"Renting this rowboat was a really good idea, glad I thought of it," Ursula smugly stated.
She then turned to notice the 'brats' and their dinos on the other side of the river. "Oh, look, it's those kids again." She then proceeded to mock them, "Why so glum? Up a creek without a paddle?" She laughed maniacally and got relaxed. Zander and Ed just wanted to go home at this point.
Though the 'old lady' was unaware of what Jackson had planned.
"DINO SLASH! SURFS UP, SPINOSAURUS!"
In a dark blue dimension, Simon spun around in the air before he started to transform. Bubbles grew both of his legs, and then his spine before they finished at the eyes. Simon roared before striking his pose and continued roaring to singal the finished transformation.
The 'spined lizard' landed in the water right behind the Alpha Gang, causing a large wave to send them further down the stream, past their target. "Whoa!" They screamed as they lost their target again. Once the boat returned to its previous speed, Ursula grabbed her hair in frustration. "Why me? I try to be a good villain, and they always set me up for a fall."
"A fall! A fall! A fall!" Ed cried as the two men tried switching direction.
"Yeah, I already said that," Ursula told them, oblivious to what he really meant. She then looked up and saw what he really meant.
"Uh-oh."
"No, I meant waterfall!" Ed told her before the boat went off the edge. They tried to use the oars to float down, but it proved useless as the boat soon fell through the steam with a screaming Alpha Gang in tow.
"Wahahaha!"
Jackson looked proud at his idea working. "Well, guys, let's get going." He said before he climbed onto Simon's back, followed by others. The gray spinosaurid swam near the edge of the river so they could get onto his back easier. Although room was a problem given their numbers and most of Simon's back was a spine not meant for riding.
Once they were all board, Simon made some announcements, "All passengers, please keep arms, legs, tails, and personal belongings in the vehicle at all times. Please make sure you have your life vests ready in case of-"
"Get going already!" Cy, surprisingly, snapped. Everyone looked at the miniature carno in confusion.
"Party pooper," Simon muttered before swimming forward to catch the Saltasaurus.
Tyler continued running until he ended up at the edge of the waterfall. "There's no place left to run." He said gloomily as he looked around. Soon the Saltasaurus arrived on the scene. The lizard from earlier followed Tyler the whole time and stuck its tongue out at the Saltasaurus, to which the large herbivore replied by doing the same. Tyler took this as likcing his lips before dining into a meal and closed his eyes waiting for the end.
"Stop right there!"
The 'lizard of Salta' turned to see Simon coming out of the river. "I have a question for you: what's the vampire's favorite circus act?"
The Saltasaurus didn't respond as Simon charged forward and answered, "The jugular!" He leapt and latched onto the sauropod's neck as a battlefield appeared.
The sauropod responded by swinging his neck around trying to get Simon off him. The wind caused by the speed of Simon's body getting swung around was enough to fall over the cliff.
"Gaaaah!" He said before latching onto the edge.
"Tyler!" Everyone shouted before trying to run over. They were blocked by Simon landing right in front of them, still grabbing onto the Saltasaur's neck before being lifted up again. This made it too dangerous for the group to pass without getting smashed.
Tyler tried to pull himself up but his grip was failing. He decided to do the only thing he had left.
"HEY, HENRY!"
Henry was already running around the rainforest once the battlefield appeared again when he heard Tyler's cry for help. "HEY, HENRY!"
"Tyler!" He quickly realized, "I'm coming, buddy!" he said as he charged towards the direction of the sound. However he was soon stopped by the crocodile from earlier, who wasted no time in charging towards his escaped meal.
"I don't have time for you!" Henry roared before hoisting up the croc and tossing it into the river behind him. He shook his head briefly before continuing on his mission.
Soon Simon's grip was starting to weaken. With one last swing of his neck, the Saltasaurus slammed Simon into the ground. This caused the piece of ground Tyler was holding onto to separate from the earth. "Aaaaah! Someone help!" The blonde cried as he fell.
"No!" Everyone cried as it seemed their friend was about to meet his end.
Soon, out of nowhere, Henry burst from the bushes, jumped over the Saltasaur's back and grabbed Tyler's hand. "Henry!" Tyler said with tears in his eyes.
"Heh, sorry I took so long," Henry said before pulling Tyler back up.
Once he was able to stand back up, the Lightning Stone user reached for his Dino Holder and decided to do another test. "Come on, please work," he pleaded before the screen soon lit up. "Yes! Now let's help Simon, Henry!" He said before returning Henry to his card.
"DINO SLASH! GO, TRICERATOPS!"
Simon looked up weakly to see the Saltasaurus charging towards him. "You may have my body," the spino weakly said, "But my spirit remains intac- OOF! HEY, LET ME FINISH!" He cried in both pain and annoyance as the sauropod made contact with his stomach.
"I think my insides just rearranged themselves," Simon panted from exhaustion and pain.
"Hey, longneck!" The Saltasaurus turned around to see Henry pawing the ground. "Leave my friend alone!" He roared before charging forward. The Saltasaurus used his back to counter the attack. The Triceratops responded by backing up and clashing with him again, sending shockwaves that made ripples across the lake. The Saltasaurus then lowered his head and bit onto Henry's frill.
"Hang in there, Henry!" Tyler cried out.
Simon tried to bite and swing his foot at the Saltasaurus to help Henry out but was too weak to do any damage. The spino collapsed on his head and returned to his card.
Henry swung his head, getting himself free from the sauropod's grasp. As he slid his horns across his back, sparks flew off. "Woah! It'll be hard for Henry to get through those spikes." Cole observed.
"Watch out! He's coming from behind!" Tiffany warned.
Sure enough, the salta used his tail to knock his opponent off his feet and sent him sliding across the dirt. Henry grew tired as his eyes grew heavy. "I… don't think… I can take… another," he wheezed out.
"Uh, come on! Don't let him beat you, Henry! Get up!" Tyler urged.
Henry heard his friend's cries of worry and struggled to stand. As he did, the Saltasaurus charged forward. "I need a way to counter, but what?" He thought as the armored sauropod got closer. The Triceratops then suddenly remembered his fight with the crocodile a few minutes ago. "That's it!" He thought as he charged forward.
Everyone's eyes widened as the two looked like they were ready to clash again. Suddenly, Henry lowered his head and catapulted the Saltasaurus onto the air, leaving his belly exposed. "Now, Tyler!"
Tyler nodded and ejected the card, "Right! Let's finish this! Electric Charge!" He swiped the Move Card and Henry activated the attack. Henry then leapt up into the air and struck the sauropod's belly, where his armor wouldn't protect him.
"Direct hit!" Tate cheered. Henry landed on the ground as the Saltasaurus kept floating in the air, twitching from the move.
Soon, he landed in the water and glowed blue, returning to his card. "Alright…" Henry cheered to himself before he returned to his card.
"Way to go, Three-Horns! He clobbered that Saltasaurus!" Tate cheered once more.
Henry's card continued floating as it landed right as Tyler's feet. "You've fought so hard you returned to a card, huh, Henry?" The foodie said to him before he summoned the miniature version of him. The little Triceratops stood up and looked at Tyler before he was hugged by the blonde.
"Ya did it, Henry, you won." He told him "It's great to have you back. Let's never get separated again, OK?" Tyler nuzzled Henry's cheek.
"Yeah," Henry agreed as he gently bit Tyler's cheek.
"Tyler, Henry." They looked to see Anderson approaching them with the card in his hand. "Here. You guys totally earned the credit for this one."
"Thanks," Tyler said as he grabbed the card. Soon his stomach started to growl again. "Oh, man, am I starving." He said as he put Henry back onto the ground.
It was then the lizard came out of hiding. "Look at this," Cy said as he nudged the lizard with his snout.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot about that lizard." Tyler realized.
"Where'd did you find it," Cy asked as he, Tate, and Simon started to chase the lizard.
"It was running from the Saltasaurus like me," Tyler told them.
This made Cy stop in his tracks at the realization, only to have Tate and Simon bump into him from behind. "Wait, then he didn't want you…"
"He wanted the lizard?" Cole phrased.
"Why? Again, sauropods only care about food," Tony told them.
"We'll ask him when we get back home," Tyler declared.
"Listen up, you beastly brats!" They all looked up to see a damaged blimp, complete with bandages and everything, slowly rowing away. The Alpha Gang was inside, completely drenched and possibly used their rented boat as a new propeller. "You may have won this round. But mark my words, the Alpha Gang will return!" Ursula addressed them through a megaphone. "With a big, fat bill as well for all the damages you caused this blimp!" She added.
"And my dry cleaning bill, too! I'm sweating like a pig here!" Zander commented.
"Whatever he said!" Ed finished as he pointed in Zander's direction, too tired to think of a threat.
"All right, now let's stroke!" They all said as they picked up speed.
"That old lady never quits, does she?" Tiffany asked Peyton.
"I told you before that I'm not old!" Ursula shot back, making the group wince a bit.
Back at the D-Lab, the newly named Pebbles was looking around in his home. "Well, it's a little empty." He told the tema, who were in the control room, mimus Tyler and Henry. "But still this is a nice place." He said as he laid down on the ferns.
"There'll be more eventually. Just be patient," Cole assured him.
"So, why exactly were you chasing Tyler?" Spencer asked. How the sauropod and humans could hear each other was unknown.
"I wasn't chasing the blonde one," the Saltasaurus clarified, "I was chasing the lizard. I was always fond of them back in the old days, so seeing one in this new, strange world just made me feel more comfortable."
"Interesting," Fiona said as she jotted down what they were told. She could obviously tell Spencer was excited by her notes as this opened a new door in the knowledge of dinosaur behavior.
"Speaking of the boy, why aren't he and the Triceratops here?" Pebbles asked them as he stood up.
"Let's just say those two both think with their stomachs a lot," Anderson said before snickering.
Said duo was, in fact, having their dinner at the moment. The minute Maria set the plates of food, Tyler and Henry gorged themselves with their food.
"My goodness, where are your manners?" Maria asked the hungry duo. "You both are acting like you were raised in a jungle."
Tyler took a break from his hamburgers and rice and looked at Henry, who paused his dinner. "If only she knew, huh?" He whispered before winking at the Triceratops, who in turn winked back before diving back into his dinner.

Another chapter down.
And the final member of the Alpha Gang's starting line-up: Major the enhanced Torosaurus. His personality is basically a strict military instructor. A commander like how Toro is in Drew's story. And a bit boastful.
Of course, the Alpha Gang will get a new member during the mall episode, but who? Wait and find out
Anonymous: I like your dinosaur and name suggestions. I will keep them in mind. As for space pirates, it's too early to decide.
