Rise of the Grandmasters Saga Episode 2: Trouble in Paradise

On a bright and sunny day in the Mobian Ocean, Tails is driving in the Sea Fox with Cosmo to take the married couple, Bunnie and Antoine on a special honeymoon that is long overdue. Bunnie and Cosmo are having fun riding in it, but Antoine is a little nervous.

Tails turns to Antoine, "You can put down the windshield if you want!"

Nervous, Antoine says, "N-no, that is okay. This is…" he gulps and adds, "Thrilling."

"I'm sorry there isn't much room. The Sea Fox wasn't really meant to be more than a two-seater," Tails says to Bunnie.

"Oh, shush. We appreciate you takin' us all the way to yer private li'l island for our honeymoon," Bunnie says.

"It's my pleasure! You two have been through so much lately. It's high time you went and got a break," Tails happily says.

"And we sho' needed it, sugah! You could use some time abroad for yourself, too. And I do mean the workin' kind," Bunnie says.

"Yes. I think we've been working really hard lately, after the Iron Dominion incident," Cosmo says.

"Yeah. I'm glad that we get to relax," Tails says.

"I agree. It's nice to also invite your girlfriend to come with you," Bunnie says with a grin on his face.

Tails and Cosmo begin to blush as they look at each other. Then turns away with their cheeks turning more red.

Cosmo soon looks ahead and happily smiles, "Look there it is."

The three friends turn ahead and look to see their island destination.

"Here we are! Cocoa Island and its…" Tails says.

But notices something off, "Three sister islands?"

"There a problem, hon?" Bunnie asks.

"I don't think so," Tails says, and presses a button to make a hologram of the island appear.

However, the hologram shows that Cocoa Island has two sister islands, not three.

"It's just that I only remember there being two smaller islands. The third one is't on my map!" Tails says, confused.

"Ah, but where did you get ze map?" Antoine asks.

"I made it myself. Nobody else knows about this place!" Tails says, scratching his head.

"Zen perhaps you had not gotten to eet yet?" Antoine suggests.

Confused, Cosmo says, "But to miss a whole other island…? That seems rather odd."

Tails thinks a bit, "Hmm, I guess I was too focused on Cocoa Island itself."

Then Tails says, "Oh well, I'll land us on the beach ahead."

"Sounds good!" Bunnie says.

"Oui, that is sounding very, very good to me right now," Antoine says, a little excited.

As Tails drives the Sea Fox is sailing towards the beach, he and his friend are unaware that the suddenly third island has already had some residence. A periscope peeks from the grounds of the island to see them landing in the sand.

"What in the world is that?" Someone asks in shock.

Somewhere in a secret base of the island, there are two bird Mobians who have the Freedom Fighters monitor as they land on the island and unpacking their things. They are rather curious about what they're doing.

Bird Mobian one says, "I dunno. It looks like a boat… sorta."

"But why are they out here? Nobody is supposed to know about this place!" The Second Bird Mobian says.

The first one says, "We should tell the Battle Lord about this…"

But the second one panics, "No! If he realizes we've been found out he'll blow a gasket!"

"We'll just lob some missiles at them and…" The first bird suggests.

But the second one panics, "Are you crazy?! Unauthorized ordinance will get us plucked, executed, and demoted! IN THAT ORDER!"

However, a green lime green bird mobian with a yellow beak and red eyes. He is wearing a green helmet, brown and red goggles, red scarf, brown flight harness, brown gloves, and brown boots.

The bird looks on the screen and says, "What you two are going to do is sit down, and what we are going to do is observe these interlopers."

"Y-yessir!" the two bird mobians answer.

On the beach of Cocoa Island, Antoine and Bunnie have finished setting things up for their honeymoon. Tails and Cosmo have their things together and ready to head out.

"Now, yer sure you won't be fine by yourselves?" Bunnie asks.

"We'll be fine. I've got some pet projects in my workshop," Tails says.

Cosmo says, "And I'll keep Tails company and help him out."

"What about you guys? You won't get bored out here, will you?" Tails asks.

"Do not be worrying, mon ami," Antoine says.

"We'll be fine," Bunnie says.

And the couple take each other's hands.

"Okay. If you change your mind, my workshop is at the top of the cliffs!" Tails says.

"We'll give y'all a holler if we come a-callin'!" Bunnie says.

"You will please do the same, oui?" Antoine adds.

"We will. See you later," Cosmo happily says.

Tails and Cosmo then head off to Tails' workshop to work on some projects and possibly have some fun. Now, Bunnie and Antoine have the whole beach to themselves.

Antoine turns to Bunnie, "'Will we be bored,' he asks."

"You hush. He's still a youn'un," Bunnie says, and takes Antoine's hands.

Climbing on the trail, Cosmo and Tails are heading to a log cabin that is on top of the hill.

"That's a very nice Cabin, and you build it all by yourself," Cosmo says.

"Yeah. I ever get tired of seeing the ol' workshop. My little home away from home. My own special place," Tails says.

"That sounds nice. How did you find this island?" Cosmo asks, interested.

"Well, it's been a long time since I met you and your sister. I came across it when I was giving the upgrades of the Sea Fox a test run. I took some time off after one of our bigger missions. Getting to know the island and building my workshop was a lot of work, but it was worth it," Tails says.

"That's amazing," Cosmo says.

"Yeah. At first, it used to be my own little secret since I didn't think I'd be allowed to keep it," Tails says.

"Why?" Cosmo asks.

"Well, back then, my friends worried about me being off on my own so much. But now… I think they fully see me for the Freedom Fighter that I am," Tails says.

"I'm really glad," Cosmo happily says.

"Yeah. Want me to fly us there?" Tails replies.

Cosmo happily nods her head, "Sure."

Tails then picks up Cosmo, turns his twin tails like a propeller and flies himself and carries Cosmo to the workshop. Unknown to them, the bird mobians are still spying on them, and make a shocking face to see Tails flying, like they're going to blow a gasket.

The two blue bird Mobians panic, "Did you just see… It just took off like…! It's not even a bird, but a…! How can its tails even do that…?! How…? Why…? I don't even… can't possibly… even legal?"

As the two birds continue to panic and wonder how Tails can fly and such, the green bird Mobian glares at the screen, mainly at Tails.

And says in thought, "The only Mobians meant to enjoy the skies are the birds."

The commands the birds, "Continue to monitor them, I will meet with the Battle Lord."

Throughout the day, Tails and Cosmo have been in the workshop and have been cleaning it up since it hasn't been used in a while. Tails also works on his projects like making a robotic dog, and other inventions for the Freedom Fighters. Cosmo also makes some food and helps Tails out with his inventions. When they are done, Tails and Cosmo walk in the forest, smell the flowers, and have some fun.

Meanwhile, Bunnie and Antoine have been setting up their tent, swimming in the water to have some fun. They also make a fireplace for the night and light it up when it's late in the evening.

Soon it's night, and the D'Coolette are relaxing in front of the fire to watch the moon bright in the night sky with the stars twinkling.

Antoine turns to Bunnie,"Bunnie?"

"Mm?" Bunnie replies.

"Do you… do you ever worry we married too early?" Antoine asks.

"He says this on our honeymoon, no less," Bunnie remarks.

Antoine waves his hands in defence, "Zat is not what I meant! I-I just…"

"Oh shush, sugar-twan. Ah know what ya meant," Bunnie says.

She then lifts her robotc hand up to reveal her engagement ring, "We're still pretty young, all things considered. If this was before the Great War, folks prolly would say we rushed into things."

"Oui, that is what I worry you may sometimes think," Antoine says.

"Sho,' it's crossed my mind. But this ain't like those days. We've been fightin' for the world since we were li'l, and we've had to grow up fast," Bunnie says, and romantically smiles.

Antoine shows the same expression, "Oui, zat is how I reasoned eet as well. I just want to be sure you are content with us!"

"Ah couldn't be happier. So you've got nuthin' to worry about," Bunnie says.

And so the couple continue to have a romantic night together. Unaware that they are about to get some unexpected visitors to their honeymoon.

Meanwhile, Tails and Cosmo are fast asleep in the workshop. Sleeping with them is a small robotic dog that has Tails' fur color scheme. They are happily asleep when a loud FWA-BOOM sound wakes them up in a fright.

"What was that?!" Cosmo panics.

Tails looks outside the window and panics, "Oh, no how? Why here?!"

Cosmo looks outside and is shocked to see the place is up in flames.

"Oh no! What is happening?!" Cosmo asks, shocked.

Tails says concern, "Bunnie and Antoine! We've got to find them!"

"You're right. They could be in trouble," Cosmo says worried.

Back on the beach, Bunnie and Antoine are in trouble. They see the fire and run into the soldiers.

"Why is ze jungle competing with ze bonfire?" Antoin asks in a panic.

"If this is some sort of attack, hidin' in the jungle ain't an option now," Bunnie answers.

Antoine turns to the ocean, "I am not thinking your legs can extend enough for us to escape to ze sea."

Then mutters, "Not zat I would want to, mind you!"

"No, and there's too much smoke to fly safely! We're bein' trapped!" Bunnie says.

She then begins to make a run for it with Antoine behind her.

Bunnie says, "C'mon! We gotta get Tails and Cosmo, get to the Sea Fox, and get outta here!"

Suddenly, they are stopped by multiple bird Mobian soldiers that have blasters, machines with flamethrowers on them.

"I am thinking we are surrounded," Antoine says.

"Looks like!" Bunnie says.

"How unfortunate for them, non?" Antoune questions.

"You got that right," Bunnie says.

Antoine and Bunnie soon begin to fight back, surprisingly Antoine. He is not happy that they attack him and his wife while they're on their honeymoon.

He brutally attacks them as he shouts,"Zis was ze first night of our honeymoon, you imbecile! We are already late having eet! Eet was starlit and romantic and everything!"

One of the robots fires a blaster at Bunnie, but Bunnie uses a protective shield so they can't hit her.

"Y'all sure got some fancy tech…" Bunnie says

But then slams her robot arm through the machine, "But mine's bettah!"

Back at the workshop, Tails, Cosmo, and the little robot pup hurry out the cabin to help.

"C'mon, Cosmo, T-pup! We've got to help!" Tails says.

"Yes!" Cosmo says.

The robotic dog, T-Pup says, "Yip Yip."

Little T-pup retracts his legs into his body and makes a propeller appear on his back. Tails then picks up Cosmo and flies in the air.

Tails turns to T-pup, and says, "That's it! This way!"

The three hurry to the beach to find their friends, but are quickly surrounded by the soldiers that attacked them.

One of them angrily says, "That's far enough, freak."

Cosmo panics, "Tails!"

"Don't worry, Cosmo, just hang on!" Tails says.

Cosmo hangs on to Tails as Tails takes to the sky. The Mobian birds fire their flamethrowers at them, but Tails quickly dodges the attack. Tails is able to reach close to the ground and is able to gently place Cosmo on the ground floor. Tails then flies up and strikes directly at one of the machines. He then doubles back and quickly picks up the two soldiers from the machine.

Each of them yelp, "HEY! He's… too… fast!"

Tails then zips past two more soldiers and makes them fire their machine guns at each other.

"Your aim is terrible! Did you set the jungle on fire by accident?" Tails remarks and laughs with a smile on his face.

Suddenly, something green swoosh right past them. Tails turns his head to see something double back and flying towards them.

"Wow! That was fast!" Tails says.

Unknown to Tails, the source of it is the Green Mobian bird from before.

Tails then flies towards him, "Okay, pal. Let's just see who the better flyer is!"

Tails tries to attack, but misses because the Mobian bird is flying so fast. Then strikes at Tails and attacks him hard, making Cosmo gasp in shock.

Back at the beach, Antoine is able to grab one of the enemy's firearms.

He points it at the enemy, "Stand down! Do not make me use zis!"

Unknown to him that one of them has a machine and flamethrower behind him.

Bunnie intervenes with a powerful punch, "Behind you, hon!"

"I am missing my sabre!" antoune says.

"And I can't keep going at this rate! Where are they all comin'..." Bunnie says.

But Bunnie hears something, "...From?

They both hear loud stomping sounds and turn their heads to see a large robot coming towards them. Antoine then fires at the enemy, but it bounces off.

Bunnie panics, "Get behind me!"

Antoine quickly gets behind Bunnie as the blast from the blaster bounces off. Bunnie then uses her protective shield to protect them. Just then, the robotic arms extend fast and bashes into the married couple. In the matter of seconds, the two are laying on the ground unconscious.

One of the soldiers turns to the one controlling the robot and gives him a thumbs up, "Nice work, Big M!"

Two more soldiers walk to the unconscious couple.

"Criminy… who are these people?" One of them asks.

The other one says, "With that kind of skill, they've got to be special ops!"

"Yeah, but who knows we're out here?" The soldier wonders.

Then the other says, "Maybe one of the rogues got mouthy? I dunno, man. That's why we're taking them prisoner!"

With the two unconscious, the other Bird Mobian soldiers carry the unconscious couple to their base to be their prisoners.

One of the soldiers looks up ,"Should we call it in to…?"

"Nan. It looks like he's got his hands full!" The other soldier says.

The first soldier says, "That, or he's having fun."

Up in the air, Tails is having a brawl with the mysterious green Mobian bird who has attacked him.

Tails tries to fight back as he shouts, "Who are you guys? Why are you doing this?!"

The bird flies away as Tails gives chase.

Tails shouts, "Are you a Dark Egg Legion Chapter? Some kind of Mercenary Group? Answer me!"

We didn't even do anything to…" Tails says, trying to grab him, but the bird Mobian zips away from his grasp.

Then Tails receives a hard bash on his head from the Mobian Bird's shoes. Tails then falls down from the side, bounces off the roof, and crashes into the ground.

"Tails!" Cosmo, worriedly says and runs towards him.

Tails is able to sit up and rubs his head as Cosmo hurries over to him.

"Are you okay?" Cosmo asks, worried.

"I think so. My head…" Tails says, feeling the pain on his head.

Just then, the Mobian bird lands in front of them and angrily says, "Here is all you need to know! I am Speedy, the Sixteenth Battlekukku of the Battle Bird Armada! And I am your end, FREAK!"

This night has just gotten bad for them, Tails and Cosmo have been cornered by a Mobian bird, Speedy of the Battle Bird Armada, and the soldiers have captured Bunnie and Antoine. How do they plan on getting out of this mess?
