Rise of the Grandmasters Saga Episode 4: Fake Island Infiltration
"NO!" Bunnie screams as she is forced to watch her husband fall into the sea.
She looks over the ledge to notice something below. That something causes her to smile and understand what is going on. She then closes the hatch and closes it shut.
She then walks away as she says, "Get outta mah way!"
The Avian soldiers look at Bunnie with confused expressions.
One of them asks, "Um… is he…?"
"Yeah. No thanks to you," Bunnie sternly says.
Then walks past them. She soon notices Speedy with his arms crossed and is looking at her with a suspicious look on his face.
He then says, "You seem awfully upset that you lost the men you are only pretending to be in love with!"
Bunnie quickly comes up with an excuse and angrily says, "Ah'm upset because years of work just got ruined! Antoin was a core member of the Freedom Fighters and now ah'm gonna have to do damage control all while havin' to play the 'bereaved widow.' Ah don't have time for that!"
Then angrily turns to the soldiers, "First y'all ambush me without checkin' on my status! Then y'all can't keep one li'l ol' prisoner captive! And then y'all let him jump out into the ocean!"
"Ah'm reportin' to the Battle Lord now. Maybe he's got ideas on how to fix this mess!" Bunnie says with a scowl look as she walks past Speedy.
Speedy turns his head slightly towards Bunnie as he is growing suspicious of Bunnie's identity, or if she's even with a Dark Egg Legion Chapter at all. Either way, he plans to find out just who Bunnie really is.
Meanwhile, Antoine actually lands on Tails and Cosmo in the Sea Fox. That who has seen when he first opens the hatch.
Antoine feels proud of himself, "Zut alors! Zat was magnificent! Your timing was impeachable!"
"Don't you mean impeccable?" Cosmo asks.
"Oui, zat, but oh, what a cunning plan I came up with in just the nicking of time!" Antoine continues.
"Uh-huh," Tails replies.
Then says, "Antoine?"
"Oui?" Antoine asks.
Tails shouts, "Get off of us!"
Hearing Tails' request, Antoine climbs off of Tails and to one of the passenger sides of the Sea Fox.
"Is Bunnie okay?" Tails asks.
"For now, she is pretending to be ze spy, I think. Ze enemy seems to trust her, and I did not want to be blowing her cover. And so I made my darling leap into…" Antoine explains.
But notices the robotic dog, "... what is zat weird little thing?"
"This is T-Pup, a pet project of mine," Tails answers.
"Ah very good then. But now we must be finding our way back into ze lair of ze villains," Antoine says.
"Unfortunately, the Sea Fox took some damage, so we can't use it to attack from underwater," Tails says.
"So then, how do we get inside?" Cosmo asks.
"I do have one idea," Tails says.
Then uses the Sea Fox's drill to drill into the wall of the island. After that, Tails and Antoine bring out hooks attached to the Sea Fox with rope and hammer them into the wall.
"I think I found an underground tunnel that connects to this island's cave network. We'll sneak in through there," Tails says.
"Zat sounds like a solid plan to me. Bravo Tails!" Antoine says.
"Thanks!" Tails says.
Tails then flies Antoine and Cosmo on to land and begins to explore the island to find a way to get inside the Battle Bird Armada's secret base.
Soon, Antoine begins to say, "It does not seem like it was so long ago that you were just ze Junior member of ze Freedom Fighter, and have started making ze grand plans."
Ah, well, I had good training…" Tails says.
Antoine continues talking, "So young, so little, so inexperienced. About as 'etpless as I was in my less glorious days, I will be admitting."
"Right…" Tails says, a bit skeptic.
Then turns to T-Pup, "T-Pup, start scanning for the nearest cavern entrance."
T-Pup barks, "Yip!" and begins to scan the area.
As T-Pup walks and scans the area, Tails, Antoine, and Cosmo follow.
Antoine continues saying with laughter, "Oh-ho-ho! And do you not recall za time you took your Sea Fox with Eve to Downunda?! Little Tails… so growing from ze seed!"
"Uh-huh," Tails replies, rolling his eyes.
Antoine continues, "But of course, you were biting what you could not chew, non? Of course, you did end up helping ze Downunda Freedom Fighters upon meeting them. And there were times Sonic and Eve had to save you a few times in ze past…"
"Antoine…" Tails says, growing annoyed.
"And there were those times when you and Cosmo were truly brave and had to fight with ze Meterax on your own," Antoine says.
That makes Tails blush a bit.
"I am not making ze fun! You have fought bravely and truly and are a big boy now!" Antoine says.
Then ruffles Tails' head, "Who is ze manly man? You are! Yes you are!"
Cosmo can't help but giggle with a smile, and Tails feels more embarrassed. He is so embarrassed that he turns to Antoine as he grits his teeth.
Still gritting his teeth, Tails says, "Antoine! How. About. We. Look. For. A. Way. Into. The. Base. And. Help. Bunnie?"
"Hmm? But of course. That is what we are doing now, mm?" Antoine replies.
Then happily says, "Oh! I am getting it! You are being ze modest hero! I am making you blush!"
"Yeah, right on the money, 'twan," Tails says with a groan and places his hand on his face.
"Oh don't worry too much, I think you both have been great Freedom Fighters, but it feels that I still have a lot to learn. I can't really fight like you can," Cosmo says.
"Do not worry Cosmo, you don't have to fight to be a Freedom Fighter. You've been helpful to us when we were battling the Metrax," Tails says.
"And that is despite all ze setback and obstacles they have brought in our path," Antoine says.
Just then, T-Pup calls out, "Yip yip!"
The group hurry forward to see T-Pup is pointing to a tunnel.
"T-Pup found our way in! Good boy!" Tails says.
"Erm… oui. Good boy," Antoine says, nervously.
Cosmo pets T-Pup with glee, "You were very good, T-Pup."
"Yip!" T-Pup happily says.
Antoine looks in the dark tunnel and asks, "We have to be going in there, yes? There is no other way?"
"That's right. Just follow me," Tails says.
"Oui…" Antoine nervously says.
He gulps nervously and says, "I will be doing just zat."
"Are you okay, Antoine?" Comso asks.
"N-n-never better…" Antoine nervously says.
Then wonders, "But…. zey are birds…. Why are we going underground to find them?!"
Cosmo and Tails shrug their shoulders and begin to walk into the cave. Antoine and T-Pup follow them inside. Even though Antoine is reluctant to go inside, he knows that he needs to find Bunnie and help her.
Meanwhile in a lab that is somewhere in the Battle Bird's base, there is a particular bird or an owl that is working on a device. The owl is named Dr. Fukurokov, but a lot of members in the Armada always have trouble pronouncing his name. He is known as the mad scientist of the Battle Bird Armada.
The owl Mobian has brown feathers and white beard. He is wearing a black pirate hat with the Armada symbol, a red robe, red spiral glasses, white gloves, and grey open-toed shoes.
He continues to work on his device when Speedy walks in and says, "I need to use your computer, Doctor."
And walks to the computer.
Dr. Fukurokov angrily turns to Speedy and shouts, "Oh, sure, come on in! It's not like I'm busy or anything! It's not as though I value some peace and quiet while I do my work!"
Speedy listens to his complaining as he sits on the chair and types on the computer searching on the 'Egg Net DataBase.'
The mad scientist continues, "I swear, I get no respect around here! People don't even call me by my name, just 'Doctor.' I bet you don't even remember it!"
"Of course I do!" Speedy answers.
Dr. Fukurokov approaches Speedy and demands, "Then say it!"
Reluctantly, Speedy tries to say his name, "Fu… foo-foo… Fructo…"
And gives up, "Look, I know it, I just can't pronounce it!"
"No respect! Why do I even bother wasting my genius here?!" Dr. Fukurokov complains.
Speedy suddenly smirks on the screen and says, "Because without it, I wouldn't have found what I was looking for?"
"Eh? What did you find?" Dr. Fukurokov asks with interest.
The two look on the screen to see Bunnie's data, and other information about her.
Speedy reads it and says, "Mrs. D'Coolette, our so-called Dark Egg Legion Double-Agent. She's not part of the D.E.L at all! She was half-roboticized well before there was even a Dark Egg Legion. She was one of the First Freedom Fighters. Ha."
"Bah, roboticization. Nasty, rule-bending, pseudo-science mag-tech malarkey," Dr. Fukurokov comments, disgusted by the tech.
However, Speedy is focused on the real matter, "The Battle Lord is being deceived. What would be the best way to solve the issue?"
He gets off the chair and walks around as he thinks of a solution to their problem.
"Whatever you do, make sure it's quiet and away from here. I have work to do," The mad scientist says, heading back to work.
But Speedy looks up at one of the inventions and says, "Actually, Dr. Foo, I think you have just what I need."
Meanwhile, somewhere in the caverns, Tails, Antoine, and Cosmo are following T-Pup who has his flashlight eyes on.
Tails looks at the map as he says, "Okay, so we should take a left here and go about ten meters…"
Antoin and Cosmo look around to see the caverns look like ruins.
Antoine asks, "Is it just me, or does it look like someone was here before us?"
"Yes. They look like ancient ruins of some kind," Cosmo replies.
"Yeah. I've found a lot of ancient architecture carved into these caves. I don't know who made it, but they're long gone now," Tails answers.
Suddenly, they hear someone say, "Careful with those!"
Antoine is about to yelp, but Tails and Cosmo quickly cover his mouth. Then they quickly hide and look behind the corner to see two of the bird soldiers from before. Tails shushes the others letting them know that they need to remain quiet.
Another voice says, "What? We're blowing up these rocks. What's a few more?"
One of them says, "It's called 'planned demolition' for a reason, stupid! If you blew up the floor here, we'd go falling straight into the under-tunnel!"
"Oh… I guess that's a good reason," The other bird says.
The three turn to each other to hear the information and that gives them an idea.
One of the birds says, "I don't get why we've got to keep blasting, then. I mean, the under-tunnel already leads straight back to base!"
"It's not our place to question the Battle L-..." The second bird says.
Just then, Tals and Antoine perform a sneak attack and punch the two birds into unconsciousness.
Cosmo says, "Guess they didn't see it coming."
Antoine ties the birds up and says, "Zat will make sure these two do not pester us and are at ze safe distance!"
Meanwhile, Tails is setting up the booms for their way in the base. T-Pup helps with the lighting.
"And those should be just enough of a charge to blast us through the other side!" Tails says.
Once Tails set up the bombs together. He places them at the wall, lights up the fuse and quickly runs off with T-Pup in his arms.
Tails shouts, "Fire in the hole!"
Hearing that, Antoine and Cosmo run away from the scene as well. Then the bombs explode, making a hole in the wall. Once the hole is blowin open, and the smoke and debris clear, Tails lower the group down on the ground floor as T=Pup follows.
"I guess this is the 'under tunnel.'" Tails says.
"The under tunnel looks so big, it's like a road or a large path for vehicles," Cosmo says.
Antone agrees, "Oui. There is enough room in here to move an entire army…"
"Hey! You!" Speaking of 'An Entire Army'.
The Battle Bird Armada soldiers with green tanks appear before them.
The Bird in front says, "You're not supposed to be here!"
"Speaking of moving an army…" Tails says, and takes Antoine's hand.
"Oui, we will move zem all down a peg!" Antoine says.
T-Pup answers, "Grrrrr! Yip-yip! Yap-yap!"
Tails, Antoine, and T-Pup charge towards the Army as Cosmo stays back.
Meanwhile, in Dr. Fukurokov's lab, the alarm goes off.
"Oh what is it now?" Speedy says, annoyed.
But soon notices, "Wait…"
Speedy looks on the map to see the 'alert' pointing to one of the tunnels.
Speedy presses the button on the control pad, "Father, I think the two-tailed freak is mounting an assault on our base from our own invasion conduit!"
"I am well aware. I've sent our D.E.L Liaison to deal with the matter. Don't get in her way," The Battle Lord says.
But Speedy grits his teeth, "Grrr… he's only uniting our enemies!"
"Should I stop with the up-grades, then?" Dr. Fukurokov asks.
"No. We proceed as planned. It's not like I could stop you anyway, right?" Speedy answers.
The mad bird laughs, "Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Indeed not! This labor of love will be my finest creation!"
Meanwhile, Antoine and Tails continue to fight against the Battle Birds.
"Keep it up, Antoine!" We've got this!" Tails says, and punches one in the face.
Antoine then shields one of the bird's punches, "I am keeping up ze keeping-up! It has been ze long day, non?"
Soon, a few try to attack Cosmo. Cosmo quickly dodges their tackles, and cause them to ram into each other.
Tails turns to Cosmo, "Are you okay, Cosmo?"
"I'm okay," Cosmo says.
Suddenly, one of the Armada with a large tank approaches them and is ready to fire the flamethrower at them.
"Alright, you land-locked losers! You asked for it!" The bird says.
"You leave mah friends and mah husband alone!" Someone calls out, and a familiar robotic arm slams through the machine.
The group becomes surprised to see the source of the voice and robotic arm is Bunnie.
"Howdy. Y'all miss me?" Bunnie says.
"Bunnie, you're okay," Cosmo happily says.
Quickly, Bunnie and Antoine give each other a strong embrace.
"Every second zat we were apart, mon amour. I am sorry if I worried you with my little act…" Antoine says.
Then Bunnie says, "You gave me quite the start, but ah figured out when ah saw Tails and Cosmo. That was quick thinking, sugah!"
"And ah brought you a little souvenir from the armory!" Bunnie says, and brings out a sword.
Antoine is more than delighted, "Eeee! Un sabre!"
"It's not yours of course, but now y'all don't have to bruise your knuckles anymore!" Bunnie says.
Antonine looks at his knuckles, "Now zat you mention it, zey are a little chafed…"
"And you two…" Bunne happily says, and hugs both Tails and Cosmo. "My brilliant little man! And sweet girl! You saved the day and mah sugar-twan. You got no idea how proud and thankful I am!"
"Ha-ha! All part of being on the team," Tails says.
"We're glad we can help," Comso happily says.
Bunnie then lets them go and brings out a hidden compartment from her robotic arm, "And I brought you a gift too…"
And pulls out a hard drive," Ah managed to down-load the schematics of the base while I was chattin' with their leader!"
"Sweet!" Tails says.
Then calls out, "T-Pup! Here, boy!"
T-Pup happily goes, "Yip! And runs to Tails.
Bunnie kneels down to pet him, "Aww! Look atcha! Did you build this li'l cutie? What am ah sayin'? Of course you did. Who's a cute robot puppy? You are! Yes you are!"
Bunnie pets little T-Pup as he wags his tail with glee.
Tails then inserts the hard drive into T-Pup. Then his eyes project the Battle Bird Armada's lair. Bunnie and Cosmo are surprised to see it.
"This is perfect! Now we can find a place to strike and shut these guys down before they do any real harm!" Tails says.
Antoine crosses his arms with a frown, "Zey ruined our honeymoon. I would be calling zat 'real harm.'"
"I don't think that what Tails means," Cosmo replies.
Bunnie places her hand on Antoine's shoulder, "True enough, but he means the bigger picture, sugah."
Antoine is still not very happy that the Battle Birds ruined his and Bunnie's honeymoon, but understands the bigger situation at hand.
Tails observes the map and points to a specific location, "It looks like if we do enough damage from this storage bay, we could potentially weaken the infrastructure of the entire base. They'd have to spend a lot of time with repairs before they could hope to do anything else."
"Then what are we waiting for? Lead the way, Tails!" Bunnie says.
Tails then shouts, "Alright, Freedom Fighters! CHARGE!"
With that, the Freedom Fighters begin to charge to the enemy.
Somewhere in the tunnel, the Battle Bird Armada are ready to attack.
One of the soldiers commanded the army, "Listen up! We have invaders coming up the passage! We are the Battle Bird Armada! We will not let them breach the base! We will…"
Suddenly, Tails kicks the bird in the face, "Gangway! Coming through!"
The Freedom Fighters are able to slip past the Battle Bird and fly up the elevator shaft.
Soon, they reach somewhere in what looks like the cargo hold.
Tails places Cosmo on the ground as he says, "Okay, guys, this is the place!"
Then T-Pup pulls up the map.
Tails direct them, "Bunnie, if you can start tearing through this wall, you should sever a crucial duct! Antoine, Cosmo and I will start over here and…"
Suddenly, someone says, "You will do no such thing!"
The group looks up on the catwalk to see the mad owl scientist.
The owl scientist continues, "This island base is one of my finest creations! You will not mar its perfection! Stand in awe of the works of the brilliant Dr. Fukurokov!"
"You can't stop us, Doctor Foo… Foo-Foo…" Tail says, unable to get his name.
"Coo-foo-craw?" Antoine says, confused.
"Foo-coo-clock?" Bunnie says, confused.
"Foo-Foo Clov?" Cosmo adds, confused.
T-Pup barks, "Yap!"
The mad doctor begins to feel upset that none of them have say his name right, "It's not that hard… it really isn't that hard…"
Then shouts, "JUST ATTACK THEM ALREADY!"
Soon, the large robot begins to attack them. The robot begins to fire lasers at them. The group run away and try to shield themselves from the attack.
Tails flies to the scientist, "Whatever that thing is, call it…"
"Stop?!" Tails quickly halts before the robotic electric arm can attack them.
Soon, Bunnie, Antoine, and Cosmo are hiding behind some boxes.
Antoine recognizes the robot, "It is ze large robot from ze raid last night!"
"That thing was tough…" Bunnie says.
Then brings out her protective shield from her arm, "... but ah'm ready for ya this time!"
Bunnie comes out of the hiding spot and protects herself from the attack. Then the robotic arm extends towards Bunnie to throw a punch.
"Let's just see who hits harder!" Bunnie says.
She then throws her punch with her organic arm for support. The robotic arms ram at each other with a 'wham!' Suddenly, Bunnie is pushed into the wall.
Antoine hurries towards her, "Bunnie!"
Cosmo quickly pushes Antoine as she cries out, "Look out!"
Cosmo is able to push Antoine out of the way as the lasers fire at the wall.
Tails hurries towards them and asks, "Are you okay?"
"I think so," Cosmo says.
"Oui. Thank you, Cosmo," Antoine says.
Suddenly, the robot begins to approach them, "Lady, gentleman, and children of some age-or-another…"
What they see is a giant round, dark blue robot with gold yellow color on it. It also has large robotic arms, a drill, and the armada's symbol.
"... I give you the greatest war machine ever constructed!" The mad doctor says.
And maniacally laughs, "Hoo! Whoo-hoo! Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-haaa!"
