Rise of the Grandmasters Saga Episode 5: Stuff of Heroes

Tails, Cosmo and Antoine are able to infiltrate the Battle Armada's base and find Bunnie. However, Speedy learns that Bunnie is a Freedom Fighter and with the help of Dr. Fukurokov, they have a special robot built to get rid of them. Now Tails, Cosmo, and Antoine are in front of Dr. Fukurokov's latest creation.

The mad owl scientist maniacally laughs, "Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! That's right, you flightless fiends! Cower before my unstoppable fighting machine… the MOLE MECH!"

Seeing Bunnie walking to them and holding her robotic arm, Antoine asks in concern, "Bunnie? You are up-holding?"

"Yeah, sugah, I'm 'holdin' up. That sucker packs a punch!" Bunnie answers.

Tails angrily calls out towards the bird, "It doesn't matter. We can take it!"

"Um yes. We can fight that robot," Cosmo says.

But the mad doctor laughs, "Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! On no you can't!"

With that, the Mole Mech begins to fire at them. Tails flies up while Bunnie, Antoine, and Cosmo quickly jump out of the way.

Watching the event, Dr. Fukurokov removes his glasses and cleans it with a cloth, "I've built my fair share of machines for the Armada, but that is the finest in my long list of creations!"

He puts it back on and says, "One days soon, the world will tremble at the name of Dr. Fukurokov!"

Hearing from behind one of the crates, Antoin whispers to Cosmo, "Perhaps, but zey won't be able to pronounce it…"

Cosmo covers her mouth and says, "I think you're right."

Meanwhile, Tails is flying in the air as he dodges the lasers of the Mole Mech.

Tails calls out, "Bunnie! We need it blinded for a minute!"

"Got it!" Bunnie answers, and acts first.

She gets an insight of the robot and blasts it, making the robot lose it's focus.

Bunnie hurries to where the others are hiding, "That'll buy us a few seconds at best…"

"That's all we need. Here's the plan…" Tails says.

Then explains his plan, "Remember those areas I pointed out before? You three hit those and I'll take care of the Mole Mech!"

"That sounds very dangerous," Cosmo says, deeply concerned.

"That's brave of you, hon. But how do you expect to take that thing yourself?" Bunnie asks.

T=Pup then gives Tails a wrench and a hammer as he says, "With this Wrench, and with the demolition charges I took from those Birds and stored in T-Pup!" and pets T-Pup.

The little robotic puppy wags his tail with glee.

Then Tails gives Cosmo the hammer, "You'll help Bunnie and Antoine."

"Okay. I'll do my best," Cosmo says.

Seeing the Mole Mech's robotic arm tangled in the chain above, the mad owl scolds, "Stop embarrassing me and destroy them!"

Meanwhile, Tails gives the others the details, "Bunnie, you fly to these higher regions! Antone and Cosmo, that Armada-issued saber should be strong to cut through to these groups of cables!"

Unknown to them, the Mole Mech pulls the chain, sending the leaver crashing down.

Dr. Fukurokov panics, "Gahk! Don't damage my fortress either, you tactless fool!"

Seeing what is happening from the hiding place Antoine says, "I am thinking we are out of time!"

"Then we must act fast," Cosmo says.

"Yo be safe," Bunnie says to Tails.

"I will. Good luck, guys," Tails says.

All four put their hands together and perform the Freedom Fighter handshake.

Then Tails shouts, "Let's go, Freedom Fighters!"

And so, they set Tails' plan into motion. The Mole Mech stretches his robotic electric arm at Tails, but with his quick flying, Tails is able to circle around the robotic arm before it strikes. Then the Mole Mech then fires its lasers, but Tails is too fast for it. Unknown to the Mole Mech, T-Pup is flying over it and drops some of the bombs in the robotic arms, blowing it up.

Seeing what is happening Fukurokov shouts in rage, "Stop marring my beautiful killing armor, you…"

He then hears a loud wham, and turns his head to see Bunnie has smashed her robotic hand through the wall. Then with her speed, runs her arm through the fortress.

The owl scientist panics, "Gahk! Cut that out!"

Meanwhile, Tails is using the wrench to unscrew the Mole Mech's parts while T-Pup catches the robot's attention. Continuing with the distraction, Antoine uses his sword to skewer the weak spots of the base and Cosmo uses the hammer to smash some of the weak spots as well. Tails continues to fly around the Mole Mech as he unscrews the supports.

Soon, Tails is able to get the last one, "There!"

Tails then flies away and T-Pup joins him.

T-Pup whines, and Tails pets him, "It's okay if you're out of ammo, boy! You did great!"

Suddenly Dr. Fukurokov screams, "Stop tearing up my beautiful… eek!" and Tails flies to him with the wrench in his hand.

He angrily says, "It's over, Doctor Fooboo!"

"It's pronounced…" The mad owl says.

But Tails shouts, "I don't care! Now listen, from one builder to another, if you want your Mole Mech to stay in one piece, you need to call it off!"

Suddenly, the robotic arm zips past T-Pup, knocking him down, and grabs Tails.

The mad Doctor says in remark, "You arrogant brat! Nothing can destroy such masterful craftsmanship!"

"Oh, yeah?" Tails says, and throws his wreck at the Mole Mech and it hits the drill of the nose. In the matter of seconds, the machine begins to fall apart and collapses to the ground. Soon, Tails is set free from the robot's grasp.

The mad doctor panics in dismay, "No! No! Inconceivable!"

Seeing his machine destroyed, the mad doctor repeats, "... Inconceivable… Inconceivable… Inconceivable…"

"You keep saying that word. I don't think you know what it means!" Tails replies.

Suddenly, they begin to hear an odd sound, and it doesn't sound good.

Soon, Dr. Fukurokov begins to run away, cursing at Tails, "You've earned my hatred for life, boy!"

"You're not gonna…!" Tails says, begins the chase.

But soon hears someone say from the machine, "... wait…!"

Tails quickly stops as he lands on the catwalk.

He turns around and wonders, "That thing had a pilot in it this whole time…?"

Tails looks to see a brown gloved hand reaching out of the opening of the machine.

Tails soon realizes, "It's gotta be him!"

Tails flies down and open the hatch.

The hatch is heavy, but Tails continues to pull it up as he says, "Hold on!"

When Tails opens the hatch, he can see the controller of the machine is Speedy who is coughing due to the smoke.

Tails picks up Speedy, "I've got you."

Then begins to fly him out of the machine, "Are you okay?"

But Speedy doesn't say anything.

Tails asks, "Which way to your medical bay?"

Again, Speedy doesn't say a word.

"Speedy…?" Tails asks, concerned.

Soon enough, Speedy is able to wake up.

He turns to see Tails and says, "Nice moves back there, kid."

Seeing Speedy is okay, Tails is able to place Speedy down. Speedy is able to get up.

"My name is Miles Prower, but you can call me 'Tails." Tails says, offering a handshake to Speedy.

"Heh. Right," Speedy says, and gives Tails a handshake.

"Y'know, I can look past the insults from earlier. We can try to be friends," Tail says.

But Speedy slaps Tails' hand away, "I don't think so, FREAK!"

Tails steps back and holds a frown on his face as he sees Speedy about to leave.

But before that, Speedy turns to Tails and says, "You and your friends better get out of here soon!" and flies off.

"Why? What's happeneeeeng?!" Tails turns and begins to panic.

Tails becomes shocked to see sparks flying all over the place and a fire is breaking out.

He panics, "Oh, no! T-Pup!"

T-Pup whimpers and whines in reply.

Tails reaches T-Pup and comforts him, "Don't worry boy. We'll get you out and fixed up in no time!"

"Tails!" Cosmo worries and hurries to her Twin Tail friend.

Bunnie flies over as well with Antoine in her arms.

Bunnie calls out, "Tails! Cosmo!"

Tails turns to see the others, "Good1 You're all safe!"

"Not id ze awoogas and rumbling are any indications!" Antoine says, worried about what is happening.

Tails picks up T-Pup and Cosmo, "Follow me! We're going back to the under-tunnel!"

Tails takes the lead with Cosmo and T-Pup in his arms while Bunnie follows with Antoine in her arms. Meanwhile, the Armada are making a run from another direction.

"Um… Tails?" Antoine asks.

Tails says, "Trust me!"

Just then, the elevator shaft enters their floor to reveal the Battle Armada's soldiers. Soon, the bird soldiers begin to run away in a panic. The Freedom Fighters are able to push their way into the elevator shaft.

Tails hurries to the controls, "Hop on! I'll take us down!"

The others hurry to the elevator.

"Perhaps we should be following ze birds? Zey seem to know something we do not!" Antoine replies.

"Other way around! We know something they don't know we know!" Tails says.

"We know what they don't that we know-know-know…" Antoine says, confused.

But begins to panic, "... No-no-no! Non! We must go up!"

"Sugar-twan, keep the faith. Tails knows what he's doin'!" Bunnie says.

"Bunnie's right. We should trust Tails," Como says.

Suddenly, the elevator comes to a stop.

Bunnie lifts the door, "Or rather, Tails bettah know what he's doin'!"

"Elevator's failed!" We'll fly the rest of the way. Follow me!" Tails says, picking up Cosmo and T-Pup.

The Freedom Fighters travel out of the elevator and down into the underground cavern. As they travel down, water begins to gather through some of the openings.

Tails smiles with confidence, "Yeah… perfect!"

Seeing the danger, Bunnie begins to panic, "Darlin' I hate to be second-guissin' you at this point, but have you lost your ever-lovin' mind?!"

"We are under ze ocean! If ze island is sinking we'll be buried alive and drowned and possibly at ze same time!" Antoine adds in fright.

"We're not sinking, and this isn't an island!" Tails says.

Then points uo ,"Wait for it…"

Just then, the cavern's walls begin to burst as Tails shouts, "Now!"

The walls collapse and to everyone else's surprise, they are not under the water, but…"

"We are up?!" Antoine exclaims, surprised.

"Sho, nuff!" Bunnie adds.

"The Island is flying!" Cosmo says, surprised.

With that, the group jump off of the flying cavern and are happy to get out of wherever they are and are looking in the air. To the group's surprise, they see the mysterious, fake third island is flying in the air and the grass areas, ground floor, and debris are falling into the sea.

"The whole durn island was a flying fortress?" Bunnie says, surprised.

"Sure was! I figured it out when I looked over those schematic you gave me!" Tails says.

"Y'all only looked at them for two minutes, at most! That's amazin'!" Tails says, impressed.

"Aw, well… not if you know what to look for…" Tails says.

"And you did a great job, Tails," Cosmo happily says.

Tails blushes and says, "Thanks, Cosmo."

Suddenly, Antoine asks, "Can we be draising Tails on ze ground s'il vous plait?"

Back in the Battle Ship, The Armada calls Speedy and Dr. Fukurokov to give their report. Hearing the result, and what has happened in the fortress, the Battle Lord is not very pleased.

The Battle Lord firmly says, "... The next time we have a Freedom Fighter in our midst, I expect to be told immediately."

Then turns to Speedy and scolds him, "Is that clear?!"

"I didn't think you… I was trying to intercept…" Speedy says.

But ends up saying, "Y-yessir!"

The Battle Lord then turns his attention to the mad owl doctor, "And as for you, Doctor…"

"Since you love to build so much, you'll be pleased to know you're in charge of getting this base operation again," The Battle Lord says.

He then grabs the owl's beak, "By yourself."

"Y-y-yes… um… th-thanks…" Dr. Fukurokov nervously answers.

He then lets go of his beak and walks away as he says, "This was a miserable failure, gentlemen! The Glorious Battle Bird Armada is better than this!"

Then look on the screen to see the list that has 'Tracked Rogues' and it has Jet, Wave, and Storm's picture on it.

He then says, "But we could be better still. My authority is cemented. It's time we rounded up the wayward members of our flock!"

"Once at full strength, we will cast off the Eggman Empire! Mobius will kneel to our might!" The Battle Lord says.

He then takes out a device and it shows a holographic image of Tails, "And this little brat will pay most dearly!"

"His name is Miles Prower, sir. His friends call him, "Tails'" Speedy says with his arms crossed and with a smug face.

Unknown to the Armada, the Babylon Rogues' air ship is flying behind them.

Storm is the first to see it, "Buhhh-boss? We found the Battle Fortress, but it ain't at the island like you said…"

"They're dropping a lot of debris and seem to be venting fuel," Wave answers.

Then turns to Jet, "It could be that the island and the ruins weren't as secret as they thought. Do you think another band of rogues beat us to the punch?"

Jet smirks and says, "Who cares? Nobody touches the Relious of Babylon but us Rogues. Let's go remind our old buddies why that is."

After the event full day and late in the night, the group are inside Tails' workshop. Cosmo has finished making some hot chocolate for everyone and is serving them to her friends.

Antoine looks at his new sword, "... and while it is ze bit heavy, I am liking it."

"Uh-huh," Bunnie replies.

"I am thinking perhaps I will start ze collectioning," Antoine adds.

"Whatever floats your boat, sugar," Bunnie says.

Cosmo then gives Tails his mug.

"Thank you, Cosmo," Tails says, taking the mug.

"You're welcome," Cosmo happily says.

Then Cosmo serves herself a cup of hot chocolate.

"Ah suppose all's well that ends well. Y'all did especially well, Tails. You too, Cosmo" Bunnie says.

"Thanks, Bunnie," Cosmo says.

"Thanks," Tails says.

But adds, "But we couldn't have done it without you two!"

He then raises his cup, "Here's to us! And here's to having a real vacation!"

The others raise their cup and say with Tails, "To a REAL vacation!"

And so, Tails, Cosmo, Bunnie, Antoine, and T-Pup continue the rest of their vacation after their wild adventure against the Battle Bird Armada.
