Hedgehogs Colors Episode 8: An Asteroid Coaster Ride
Having shut down four generators, Sonic, Eve, and the others have only one more left. They soon arrive at the next destination where they need to shut down the last generator. The two leave the station and walk down the hall to see the next plant. To their confusion, they notice a roller coaster track in front of the tunnel.
"What is this track for?" Sonic asks.
Eve looks at the map and reads the info, "According to the map, the Asteroid Coaster main roads are… 'roller coaster tracks?'
Right on cue, a roller coaster train car arrives on the tracks in front of the entryway.
"So, we get to go on a roller coaster ride. Talk about awesome. Even if it is part of Eggman's scheme," Sonic says.
"So cool! I love roller coasters!" Eve says, excited.
"Well, I guess the best way of getting around is to go on the coaster and it could be fun," Tails says.
Reluctant, Maria says, "But um, I've never been on a roller coaster before."
"It's okay Maria, it's not exactly different from when I take you running with me. We go up, down, around, loop-de-loop and all that. It's really not all that different," Eve says.
Maria thinks for a minute, "Hmmmm."
She smiles and says, "Okay."
With that, the group walks and sit down on the roller coaster cars. Sonic and Tails sit in the front of the car while Eve and Maria sit behind them. Tails is also holding Yacker and Eve is holding Jazz. They all buckle their seat belts and the safety bars lower to their laps.
Suddenly, they hear Eggman's voice making an announcement, "Welcome to the Asteroid Coaster, where no one can hear you scream, and where the road is one giant roller coaster. Remember to keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times till it comes to a complete stop. And this ride is not for little children, nor big babies. Enjoy the ride, it's going to be out of this world."
"Metaphorically or literally?" Eve questions.
"Who knows. I just hope this ride is worth something," Sonic says.
They look on the screen to see it comes back down from 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… 0…
Just then, the ride speeds out of the station and out in the wide open space on the tracks. The group scream loud as the coaster goes up and down on some kills. Then make a huge curve around the corner. Then the coaster takes them to a large loop-de-loop, and then goes down a steep hill that makes everyone scream in either excitement or fight. Soon enough, the roller coaster cars come to a stop at a different station.
Eggman's voice appears on the speaker, "Thank you for enjoying the ride. However, this station is not available for visitors, so please remain in your seat and enjoy more of the ride to the next station."
The group looks to see a large factory before them. The factory is dark and seems to be completed by is off limits. There are a few hovercrafts with robots driving them to the factory. The doors open and the hovercraft drives into the factory with Prison Capsules full of Wisps.
"Come on guys, let's get off and check this factory," Sonic says.
Everyone agrees and quickly gets off of the coaster before it leaves again.
"Still, what was really fun," Maria happily says.
"Chao Chao," jazz says with glee.
Eve chuckles and says, "Now that's what I called a wild ride."
"Yeah. It was fun. Now let's go check out that factory Eggman's robots have," Sonic says.
The group then hurries to the factory and hides behind some crates and other supplies to see the robots entering the factory through the large metal door. Sonic and Eve take a peek around the corner to see if the coast is clear. Soon, the robots leave, leaving the door unattended as a hovercraft enters the factory with a trunk full of Prison Capsules. Sonic, Eve, Tails, Maria, and Jazz speed off and hurry inside of the factory before anyone can notice. Yacker however, remains behind and looks around in deep concern. Yacker then flies off to somewhere else in deep concern.
Inside the factory, Sonic, Eve, and the others quickly hide behind one of the large crates to see the robots bringing the Wisps inside. Eve turns to Tails, Maria, and Jazz and signals them to follow both her and Sonic. The two hedgehogs pick up the others and speed off in silence. They speed past the robots who are busy with working on the machines, driving on the hovercraft, and carrying supplies, Prison Capsules, and other essentials.
After sneaking into the factory, Sonic, Eve, and the others arrive down the halls of the factory and soon begin to look around.
"What is this place?" Sonic wonders.
"I don't know, but I don't like the atmosphere of these places. It's giving me the creeps," Eve answers, feeling chills down her spine.
Maria and Jazz look uneasy about this place, and begin to grow frightened.
"This place is giving me the creeps," Tails says.
Eve points down the hall, "Let's see what's down there."
The group then walks down the hall to see if they can find any Wisps to rescue, and to find out more of Eggman's plans for the Wisps. When they reach down the hall, the group gasps in shock.
What they see is a very large container full of purple energy in different capsules. Above, they see conveyor belts with Prison Capsules, having the many Wisps trapped inside. They all are being put into the machine, and having their energy sucked away.
"What is this place?!" Maria asks, shocked.
Then Sonic points out, "Whoa. It looks like he's converting them in some way."
"That machine is what Eggman's using to suck up the Wisps' energy, and modified them to power his mind control device," Tails says.
"And any Wisp that has their energy sucked is being turned to Nega Wisps," Eve says.
"How horrible," Maria says, horrified.
"Don't worry. We'll get 'em out," Sonic says.
Then Tails looks around to notice someone is missing, "Hey, guys. Where's Yacker?"
The group looks around to notice that Yacker is gone.
"Yacker's gone," Maria says.
Eve calls out, "Yacker!"
"Where could Yacker have gone off to. It's not safe with those robots around," Tails says.
"I'm sure he's okay. First, we need to help Yacker's friends," Sonic says.
"You're right. We gotta stop Eggman's factory operation and free the Wisps trapped here," Eve says.
"And then we shut down his generator to free this planet," Sonic adds.
Sonic and Eve soon take their leave to free the aliens. Tails, Maria, and Jazz look at the captured aliens in deep concern. Then follow the others to free the many aliens trapped inside. Sonic and Eve soon free the Wisps who are trapped inside the capsules with their spin dashes. The group continues to look around the factory and soon find more Wisps in capsules to free.
Sonic looks around, "Man, it seems that all the Wisps who were captured are brought here for his mind control device."
"Yeah. We have to free them all and stop that generator from delivering power to the mind control device," Eve says.
Suddenly, they beg to hear some strange noises.
"What's that?" Tails wonders.
Jazz soon notices up ahead and calls out, "Chao! Chao Chao Chap! Chao Chao Chao Chao!"
"What is it, Jazz?" Eve asks.
Jazz points ahead, "Chao Choa!"
The others soon look ahead to see a group of Wisps heading towards then, but they're either purple or violet.
The Purple Wisps have three tentacles that are wide near the middle and end in a jagged point, which stem from their heads, which split into two horn-like protrusions. They lack eyes, unlike normal Wisps, and have a wide, sharp, fanged-like mouth in the style of a jack-o-lantern.
The Violet Wisps don't even have eyes and have sharp black mouths, have somewhat of a sinister appearance. The group quickly recognizes them from Sweet Mountain.
Tails says in surprise, "Those Nega-Wisps are headed this way!"
Then the Violet and Purple color Wisps begin to circle around them and try to talk to them. Some of them look a bit frightening.
"I got a bad feeling about this," Sonic says.
"Yeah. And they don't look like they want to play," Eve says.
Soon, the Violet Wisps begin to talk to them.
Tails looks at his Miles Electric and reacts, "Waugh!"
The Violet Wisp continues to talk to them.
"What are they saying?" Maria asks.
"I don't know! I can't understand them! They're too far gone!" Tails says.
The Wisps soon take offense to it.
"But it doesn't take a translator to tell that they're mad," Tails says.
"Yeah, but they should be mad at Eggman, not us," Sonic says.
Eve nods her head, "I agree. He's the one who is causing all this trouble."
Soon, One Violet Wisp flies to Eve and the Purple Wisps flies to Sonic, catching them by surprise. The two Wisps gather at the two hedgehogs. Soon, Sonic and Eve absorbs the Violet Wisps'
"Sonic! Eve! Are you okay?!" Tails asks, surprised.
Sonic grunts and says,"If they want to play rough... I'll get rough!"
"Yeah. These Wisps are very wild, so we'll have to be wild ourselves," Eve says.
"Let's do it, sis," Sonic says.
With that, the two hedgehogs transform. Sonic has turned into some purple mass with sharp teeth and yellow eyes. Eve turns into some kind of round dark purple vortex with a frightening looking face.
Sonic as Purple Frenzy, charges and begins to chomp at anything in its path. He chomps on some of Eggman's robots, some of the large crates, and at large cylinder pipes around the area.
Eve as Violet Void, charged in the opposite direction. When she comes across the enemies, like Eggman's robots, they end up getting sucked into the void.
Tails, Maria, and Jazz are surprised because the powers of these two Wisps are very different from the powers of the other Wisps. These powers seem dark, and a bit scary.
"So these are the powers of the Nega-Wisps?" Maria asks.
"I think so. That's probably because the negative energy is so wild and rather out of control, that its power changes as well to represent it. I think," Tails says.
"I hope they'll be okay," Maria says.
"Me too," Tails replies.
As the others wait, Sonic and Eve are still at work. They use these new and rather negative energized Hyper-Go-Ons to destroy the factory. Sonic continues to use the Purple Frenzy power while Eve uses the Violet Void power. Along the way, they destroy many of Eggman's robots and free the Wisps trapped in the Prison Capsules. The Purple Frenzy is very effective for beating the robots and destroying Eggman's machines, while Eve is able to have the Prison Capsules pulled to her and they shatter within impact. The Wisps are also free in the process. The two hedgehogs continue the Wisps' negative energy to free the Wisps from their pistons and destroy the robots, machines, and other machinery. Other Nega-Wisps also assist the hedgehog by using their powers when the others are used up.
After all the destruction, and freeing the Wisps. Sonic and Eve soon find Tails, Maria, and Jazz outside of the factory. Once they arrive, the Two Wisps leave the hedgehogs' bodies and are feeling very tired.
"Poor things, they're so tired," Maria says.
"It's probably because they have to use the negative energy they have because their original powers are drained," Eve says.
"And their powers seem wild and out of control," Sonic says.
"And it's more important to get the generator shut down," Tails says.
He then looks around, "I have to wonder where the last generator is."
"There has to be some way to find it," Eve says.
Maria notices something ahead, "What's that?"
Maria walks over with Eve and the others following behind. They look to see a large map area. It also has different stations, large asteroid and rocky areas.
"It's a map of the Asteroid Coaster," Eve says.
"Wow. There are a lot of stops and stations, and other places around here," Sonic says.
Tails points out on the map, "Look, there's the generator. So if we take another ride on the coaster, we should get there after three stops."
"Then it's best we get going," Sonic says.
Tails then says, "You guys go on ahead. I'm going to try to find Yacker."
"I want to help her too," Maria says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz replies.
"Alright, Sonic and I are going to find the generator, and the rest of you will try to find Yacker, and meet us there," Eve says.
"Okay," Maria says with a nod.
Sonic and Eve then speed off in one direction to get to the coaster. Tails, Maria, and Jazz head off to the opposite direction to find Yacker and hope he's okay.
Sonic and Eve head to the coaster, ride on it until they reach the stop where the generator is. They are able to free Wisps along the way, and have to fight Eggman's robots.
Meanwhile, Tails, Maria, and Jazz continue to search and search for Yacker. They avoid the robots and search in other locations to find their friend. Sadly, they are unable to find him. They have to wonder where he has disappeared to, and if he's okay.
Back to Sonic and Eve, they're able to reach the stop on the coaster and find the generator without much complications.
"There it is, the last generator," Eve says.
"Yeah. It's time to shut this thing down," Sonic says.
Just then, a large airship comes hovering over the generator, it looks a lot similar to the airship at the Starlight Carnival. It has a red and black color scheme, and has glowing green lights around the mouth, eyes, and spikes.
"You know, my sister and I don't like what you're doing to my friends in there. It's messed up. So we're gonna mess you up," Sonic says.
The airship barely shows any kind of response to Sonic's threat.
Soon Sonic begins stretching as he says to the robot, "Yeah, that's right. I'm stretching. You got a problem with that? I wanna be able to fully enjoy taking you apart without some pulled muscle slowing me down."
Eve rolls her eyes in response and knows that the airship can't really talk.
Sonic continues stretching as he says, "Okay, now I'm ready. Of course, if you want to run away, please feel free. There's no shame in it...well, maybe a little shame."
So far, the airship doesn't respond at the slightest.
Sonic shrugs his shoulders and says, "You guys don't talk much do you? Fair enough. Don't say I didn't warn you."
"Let's get 'em," Eve says, ready to fight.
Sonic and Eve quickly charge to the giant airship. The airship soon departs and is going to get away. Sonic and Eve stop to see the airship flying away, but Sonic notices a large pink color path close by. They both quickly use it to chase after the airship.
Eve turns to Sonic, "Hey Sonic, isn't that robot the same one as the one from the Starlight Carnival?"
"Sure is. It even looks like it," Sonic says.
Then Sonic smirks, "Which means, it should be like it, with the same construction job."
"Yes. Which means, we should be able to attack it the same way," Eve says.
"Right. You take care of the cannons, and I'll head inside to free the Wisps, and wreck it," Sonic says.
"Sounds good to me," Eve says.
Sonic and Eve then speed ahead to catch up with the airship. They see the firearms bringing out its cannons and guns, and begin to fire at the two hedgehogs. Sonic and Eve then increase their speed to catch up to the airship as it continues to fire its energy bullets at them. When they stop, Sonic and Eve take their chance and spin dashes the machine guns. They continue to spin, dash and smash at them. After multiple smashing, Sonic and Eve are able to destroy the machine guns. Soon, the ship begins to lose its balance and ends up dropping many of the Prison Capsules on board.
"Alright sis, I'll get in and you…" Eve says.
But Sonic and Eve notice the airship is disappearing into some strange vortex.
"What's the…" Eve says, shocked.
Soon enough, the vortex begins to launch out asteroids and meteors at them.
"In coming!" Sonic calls out.
Sonic and Eve quickly dodge the giant asteroid and meteors. Just then, a Yellow Wisp and Orange Wisp, assist the two hedgehogs with their powers. Sonic fuses with the Orange Wisp to become Orange Rocket, and Eve fuses with the Yellow Wisp to become Yellow Drill. They both fire at the space rocks and destroy each and everyone of them in their path. Luckily, the power wears off and the ship comes out.
Acting fast, Sonic and Eve launch the attack directly under the airship with full force. That causes the airship to receive critical damage, and most of the Prison Capsule fall out of the ship and the Wisps are free. They soon catch up with the airship that is firing at them. Sonic and Eve quickly spin dash at them and break the airship apart. Sonic quickly gets inside the airship, and gains power from the Yellow Wisp to get in. Sonic drills around the inside of the airship as he destroys it and frees any of the Wisps trapped inside.
Meanwhile, Eve is outside as she speeds towards the airship and spin dashes at its weak points. Just then, the vortex appears from behind the airship and it speeds inside. Then the asteroids begin to bounce out again. Sonic is able to get assistance from the Orange Wisp, so she is able to blast her way through the asteroids. Then, the airship exits the vortex. Eve sees her chance and is able to fire the Orange Rocket from under the airship and right through it. Soon, Sonic in Yellow Drill comes out on top from inside the airship.
Soon, the ship begins to explode bit by bit, as it begins to lose power. Sonic and Eve land on the path as the Wisp phase out of their bodies. The two hedgehogs watch as the airship goes down to the outskirts of space.
"Alright sis, let's head back," Sonic says.
Eve nods their heads in reply.
Soon, Sonic and Eve land on the ground after defeating the robot, and soon enough, the generator shuts down.
Sonic says to himself, "Whew! that was almost difficult."
"Yeah. That robot was pretty tough," Eve says.
That's when Tails, Maria, and Jazz arrive to see them.
Tails calls out, "Wahoo! You did it guys! That was the last tractor beam."
"Yeah. Couldn't have done it without you buddy," Tails says to Tails.
Then Tails says, "Thanks."
With that, the group of friends begin to leave the planet to check on the Wisps.
Sonic then asks, "So are all the aliens getting free?"
"Looks like it. Once the power went off the locks vanished," Tails says.
Then lowers his head in concern, "I hope Yacker's okay."
"Me too. I'm really worried about him," Maria says.
"Don't worry, I'm sure he's alright. Wherever he is," Eve replies.
"She's right. I'm sure we'll find him," Sonic says.
Then Sonic asks, "You don't think the weapon you were shot with still works?"
"Not without power flowing to it. I think we're all good," Tails says.
"That's what I like to hear," Sonic says.
"Yeah. As long as there's no more power, Eggman can't use that machine on anyone," Eve says.
And so, Sonic, Eve, and the others begin to take their leave to make their way to the elevator back home.
Meanwhile, out in space, without power of the generators, the chains attach to the planets and will soon be going back to their part of the galaxy. Sonic, Eve, and the others soon notice.
"SWEET! The tractor beams are gone! The planets are free!" Tails happily cheers.
"Was there ever any doubt? I mean, really? Great job, guys," Sonic says.
Sonic, Eve, and the others soon arrive in the Tropical Resort where they see all the Wisps happily fly around with glee.
"With all the generators destroyed, we can blow this joint and head home," Tails says.
"We really did it," Maria happily says.
"You're right about that. It took a lot to accomplish this, understanding what the Wisps say, trashing Eggman's robots and shutting down his generator," Sonic says.
"Yeah. We did quite a lot here," Eve says.
Soon, all the Wisps begin to fly around the group of friends, almost like they're dancing and expressing their gratitude.
"Looks like the aliens are happy to be going home too," Eve says.
"Really happy," Maria replies.
"Chao Chao," Jazz says.
Soon, Tails notices them having fun.
Then says, "Uh, I think we're in the middle of a party."
"The middle?" Sonic questions.
Then says with pride, "We ARE the party. I think we're their guests of honor."
"Totally," Tails agrees.
"Yeah. They want us to have the fun," Eve says.
"Yay!" Maria cheers.
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says.
And with that, the group begins to dance and have fun with the Wisps. They deserve a break after rescuing the planets and the Wisps.
However, in Dr. Eggman's lab, Eggman is looking at his monitor, which is showing the status of his mind control device. One of them is completely full, while the others are only two-thirds full.
Eggman laughs, "Hoo ho ho! That fool Sonic thinks he's won just because he destroyed all my generators. Well, the mind control cannon is full enough for what it has to do. I WILL have the last laugh!"
Cubot claps for Eggman.
Confused, Orbot asks, The last laugh? How is laughing last special? Isn't that like being the slowest one to get the joke?"
Cubot says in a gangster voice, "Yeah, I laugh last all the time. People look at me like I'm an idiot. Forget about it!"
"That's because you ARE an idiot!" Eggman angrily says to Cubot.
Cubot thinks as he spins his head.
Then asks in the voice, "You talkin' to me?"
"Yes, I'm talking to you. There's nobody else here, so I MUST be talking to you," Eggman angrily says.
Then demands, "Why haven't we fixed your voice chip yet?!"
"Yo, quit bustin' my batteries over here, I been workin' on it all day," Cubot says, and turns around with his arms crossed.
"What does that even mean?!" Eggman demands.
But decides it's not worth his efforts, "Oh, never mind."
He then presses the button on his console, and the console goes down, and switches with a lever glowing purple on one side.
"In a few seconds it won't matter anyway since the world will only have one thing on its mind," Eggman says.
"What's that, boss?" Orbot asks.
"He he…" Eggman chuckles and says, "Me."
Orbot and Cubot react with shock.
Eggman then pushes the lever forward, activating the device.
Outside of the Egg Mech, the mind control device begins to activate and transform into a cannon. However, the arm that remains stuck in the machine begins to crack, and then explodes, causing a chain reaction that detonates the mind control cannon and sends the accumulated Nega-Wisp genergy flying in every direction. One burst of energy strikes at the moon, coating it with purple smoke. Soon, the energy begins to form everywhere.
Soon enough, Eggan, Orbot, and Cubot feel the whole place rumbling, and Eggman is shocked to see one of his cannons has exploded.
Back on the Tropical Resort, the group of friends, along with all the Wisps begin to feel the ground shaking. The Wisps begin to flee as the group remains to feel the ground shaking. They can tell that this is not good, and their adventure is not over.
