The Secret of the Rings Episode 2: The Creators of the Arabian Nights
Sonic and Shahra have gone through the portal that leads them to the storybook world of the Arabian Nights. Soon enough, Sonic and Shahra find themselves in a large desert area with some trees, bushes, plants, and up ahead is a large body of water.
Sonic looks around and asks, "Where are we?"
"We're in the Sand Oasis. Which means, we're close to King Shahryar's palace," Shahra says.
"Great. Now, which way do we need to go to find them?" Sonic replies.
Shahra looks ahead, "It's a short distance away. As long as we don't run into any trouble. We'll be fine.
"Alright then, let's go find the King's palace," Sonic says.
"Yes, let's hurry!" Shahra says.
And with that, Sonic speeds off through the desert to find the King's palace with Shahra flying close to him. They speed through the desert area to get to the palace. Suddenly, large pillars begin to rise from the sand in front of them.
Shahra cries out, "That pillar is being manipulated by magic! Look out!"
"Got it!" Sonic says.
The pillars rise from the sand and begin to fall towards them. Sonic quickly moves back and speeds forward, dodges left and right to avoid the falling pillars. Then they continue to speed forward. Suddenly, multiple monsters like creatures, seem like smaller genies appear in front of them.
Shahra cries out, "Erazor's henchmen!"
"That guy doesn't waste his time sending his bogies after us," Sonic says.
Sonic then jumps up and spins, dashes everyone and rams at them with his sonic speed. Just then, a red spirit appears.
Shahra cries out, "Watch out! The red spirit can breathe fire!"
And right on cue, the red spirit breathes fire at Sonic.
"Woah!" Sonic reacts in surprise, and quickly jumps over the breathing fire.
Then Sonic spin dashes at the red spirit, knocking it down to the ground.
"Come on, let's hurry," Shahra says.
Sonic and Shahra continue speeding ahead as fast as they can go. And soon enough, they see the palace right on their site.
"Look, there it is," Sonic says.
"King Shahryar palace," Shahra says, relieved. "All we have to do is get through the city and we should be in the palace."
"Yeah. Let's get going before more of Erazor's henchmen shows up," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra continue to make their way to the palace and through the palace entrance. Soon enough, Sonic and Shahra arrive in King Shahryar's palace and are inside.
Sonic looks around and says, "Everything seems quiet around here."
"Yes. Rather, too quiet," Shahra replies.
They both begin to look around and soon find themselves in the throne room. Sadly, they do not see King Shahryar nor Scheherazade.
Sonic looks around and wonders, "Where are they? Are we too late?"
"I do hope not," Shahra says, concerned.
They both begin to look around the area. But soon, a jar falls over and shatters, revealing that someone has been hiding in there. To Sonic and Shahra's shock, they see a man who's been hiding in there.
What shocked Sonic even more, the man looks like Dr. Eggman. Only, he's wearing a Pince-nez glasses with navy blue tinted lenses, Golden finger rings and necklace, Black turban with red feather and jewel in front, Dark-purple robes with yellow edges and lines, and red jewels, White gloves, White scarf, Black shirt with yellow cuffs, Black pants with yellow lines, Red waist cloth, and Pointy black boots with white cuffs and lines, and yellow dishes at both sides of the ankles.
The two become surprised to see the man out of the jar.
However, Sonic questions, "What's Dr. Eggman doing here?!"
Then ends up having an idea and says, "Aha! I knew it! This is all another one of your schemes!" and walks over to the man to confront him.
But the man who resembles Eggman questions, "What is the meaning of this? I am Shahryar, king of this land!"
But Sonic isn't buying it and demands, "Eggman, what are you up to this time?"
However, Shahra gets in front of the man and clarifies with Sonic, "Sonic, wait! You're making a mistake! This is him. This is King Shahryar!"
"Really?!" Sonic asks, surprised.
The man resembles Eggman, who is really King Shahryar angrily says, "Such insolence!"
Then calls out, "Guards! Seize that blue spiky thing at once."
However, no one is showing up.
Shahra asks, "Where are your men, Your Highness?"
"Oh, that's right... let me explain," King Shahryar replies. Then explains, "When the evil spirits appeared out of nowhere, everyone turned and ran. And I was stuck having to hide in that jar."
"What about Scheherazade? Is she alright?" Shahra asks in concern.
"Do not worry," A voice answers, and it's familiar to Sonic.
Sonic turns around and is beyond shocked. What he sees is a hedgehog that looks exactly like Eve. However, she is dressed in an outfit. She is wearing a black crop top revealing her midriff and navel, with sewn-in off-the-shoulder straps, with a matching color puffy pants and black see through fabric skirt over it, along with yellow balagha color shoes. She is also wearing a waistband decorated with black, red, and blue colored gems. She is also wearing a gold headband that has a ruby red gem in the center. She is also wearing a gold necklace with a black heart shaped gem in the center.
"I'm alright so there's no need to worry," The female hedgehog says.
"Scheherazade. Thank goodness you're safe," Shahra says.
"Eve…?" Sonic softly says, shocked.
The hedgehog who is Scheherazade, turns to Sonic, "Hello, who is your friend, Shahra?
"Huh… but… Eve.. it's me. Sonic. Don't you remember?" Sonic asks.
"I apologize, but I have never met you before. I would have remembered," Scheherazade
relies.
"Oh uh, sorry. I uh, thought you were someone else," Sonic apologizes.
"It's quite alright," Scheherazade says.
King Shahryar is relieved, "Ah Scheherazade I'm so relieved to see that those monsters didn't capture you as well."
"Yes. I was able to avoid capture when they invaded the palace. I'm also glad to see that you haven't been captured as well," Scheherazade says.
"Indeed," King Shahryar says.
Then Scheherazade turns to Shahra, "Shahra, I suppose you heard about Erazor Djinn's attack on the palace."
"Yes. The king just told us," Shahra says, nodding her head.
"Indeed. Erazor Djinn has sent his men to capture us. As the main characters and creators of the Arabian Nights, he will do whatever it takes to capture us. We must find a way to stop him before the Arabian Nights are erased," Scheherazade. Says.
"Don't worry, we'll find a way to stop Erazor Djinn. He's not going to get away with anything on our watch," Sonic says.
Suddenly, they hear screeching sounds. They all look out to see some pterosaur appear and fly into the castle. Then begins to dive down towards the king.
Scheherazade cries out, "Shahryar, look out!"
Before the king could react, Scheherazade quickly pushes him out of the way. The pterosaur grabs her with its talon and carries her away. Sonic, Shahra, and King Shahryar rush over to see Erazor Djinn riding on the creature and carrying Scheherazade away.
Shahryar cries out, "Noooo! Scheherazade!"
"We have to rescue her!" Shahra says.
"Don't worry, we'll get her back!" Sonic says.
Then turns to Shahra, "Come on, let's go."
And with that, Sonic and Shahra take their leave to find and rescue Scheherazade from the evil Erazor Djinn.
Sonic continues to crush across the city in order to catch Erazor and his flying monster to rescue Scheherazade.
Sonic looks up and says, "There they are!"
"We have to rescue Scheherazade before Erazor Djinn causes harm to her," Shara says.
"Don't worry, we'll think of something to rescue her," Sonic says.
Just then, they hear someone calling out, "Stop it! Leave me alone!"
"That voice!" Sonic says, confused.
Sonic then speeds off and notches something up ahead. Up ahead, Sonic sees two genie spirits attacking someone. Sonic arrives on the scene and easily defeats them swiftly.
Then the one Sonic has rescued arrives with gratitude, "Oh, thank you! I thought I was done for!"
To Sonic's surprise, the one he has rescued is Tails, but something is different about him. He's wearing a white turban, red vest with purple and yellow trim, green and yellow belt, white gloves and socks with black and golden bands, silver bracelets, gold ring, red and white shoes with pointy toes.
Surprised, Sonic asks, "Tails! What are you doing here, too?"
"...Tails?" The Tails doppelganger says, confused, and introduces himself, "My... My name is Ali Baba."
"Come on, Tails! I know it's you!" Sonic says.
Shahra steps in and says, "I'm very sorry. He seems to have you mistaken for someone else."
"Oh, it's okay!" Ali Baba says. "I'm still very grateful that you saved me. I might not be very strong, but I've still got some kicks up my sleeve. If you ever need help in return. It would be the least I could do to repay you."
"Thank you. If something comes up, we'll be sure to call you!" Shahra says.
"Yeah. What she says," Sonic says.
"Oh course," Ali Baba replies.
Then they both take their leave.
Sometime later, Sonic and Shahra continue to travel through the Sand Oasis to find Erazor Djinn and his monstrous flying creature, and rescue Scheherazade from his clutches.
Sonic sighs, "I wonder if this is what Eve felt when she told me about how she ended up in that other world."
"What do you mean?" Shahra asks.
"Well, it's a long story, but my sister Eve ended up in a different world because of a spell casted by the wizard of that world. She explains that during her travels, she comes across a lot of characters who look like our friends back home. She even told me that my counterpart was the ruler of the land where she ended up," Sonic says.
He sighs and says, "Looks like I'm going through the same experience. Ended up in another world, and met those who I'm close to living entirely different lifes. And they don't know me here. And I was standing in front of my sis, and she doesn't know me in this world.
"It must be hard for you then. Scheherazade resembles the sister you're deeply close to, yet she doesn't recognize you in this world," Shahra says.
"Yeah, but I think I'll get used to it. Eventually. Right now, we gotta rescue Scheherazade before Erazor Djinn does something to her," Sonic says.
"You're right. We must hurry," Shahra says.
Sonic and Shahra continue to travel across the desert to rescue Scheherazade and stop Erazor Djinn's plans. Suddenly, something is up with the sand, and it's turning into some whirlpool that is being formed in the sand.
Shahra calls out, "Sonic, look!"
Just then, some kind of giant Sand Scorpion rises before them from the sand. It has its eyes everywhere on its body. And it doesn't look very pleased to see them.
Sonic looks in front of him and says in surprise, "Whoa! I take it that's not something you see everyday, huh?"
"That must be the monster summoned forth by the Erazor Djinn!" Shahra suspects.
Sonic turns to Shahra and asks, "Shahra! Can't you do something about it with your magic?"
"I'm sorry, Sonic. My magic is no match for that of the Erazor Djinn," Shahra says, apologetic.
"OK then! Guess I'll just have to deal with him the old-fashioned way!" Sonic says.
Then Sonic notices the sad expression on her face.
Sonic reassures her, "And hey, don't look so glum. Shahra! I'll have you smiling by the end of this. And that's not me ordering you as your master. That's a promise from me to you." and gives his pinky finger to Shahra.
Shahra does the same, "Yes... alright."
They both link their pinky fingers together.
"Alright! Let's do it!" Sonic says.
Then Sonic dashes off to defeat the Sand Scorpion before it can attack them.
Shahra looks at her finger and says, "A promise…
Sonic reaches the sand whirlpool to see the Sand Scorpion climb out of the center, and jumps out to land on the solid sand area to fight Sonic.
"Aha, he seems pretty tough," Sonic says.
Then prepares himself to fight, "All right, let's do this!"
Soon, the Sand Scorpion begins to run off as it fires at Sonic. Sonic quickly dodges the attacks and begins to chase after the Sand Scorpion.
Shahra calls out, "The big eyeball on its back seems to be its weak spot!"
Sonic nods his head and chases after him. Then the Sand Scorpion raises its tail.
Shahra cries out, "Watch out for its tail attack!"
Sonic speeds faster and begins to close in on the monster. The monster raises its stinger and throws it to attack Sonic. Sonic quickly dodges the attack. Then the monster raises its other stinger and tries to attack him the same. Sonic quickly dodges the attack. Then the Sand Scorpion begins to launch bombs at Sonic.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelps and begins to dodge the bombs as they fly out at them.
Shahra calls out, "Sonic! Try using the scorpion's tail to reach the eye on its back!"
"Easier said than done!" Sonic calls out.
"Just wait for the sand scorpion to try to strike you with its tail, then use it to reach the eye on its back!" Shahra calls out.
"Thanks for the tip!" Sonic calls out.
Sonic begins to speed towards the Sand Scorpion, but the monster is not going to give up. When Sonic tries to get close, it tries to stab him with it's stingers or throw bombs at him.
"This guy just doesn't give up!" Sonic says.
Just then, the singer tries to stab Sonic on the ground. Sonic acts fast as he jumps in the air, and spin dashes up the stinger's eyes and is able to spin dash the eye on its back.
"Looks like this monster needs another strike to take it out," Sonic says.
Sonic continues to speed as he dodges the attacks on the stingers and the bomb. When it fires the other singer at him, Sonic quickly jumps in the air, and is able to strike another spin dash on the back eyes a second time. Sonic then is able to perform the same trick another time.
"Looks like he can't take much more of this!" Sonic says.
Suddenly, the Sand Scorpion turns around and unleashes what looks like a giant mouth.
"Woah! This is going to get rough," Sonic says.
The monster's mouth soon begins to fly at Sonic and tries to chomp on him. Sonic dodges the attacks, jumps in the air, and spin dashes the eye in the jaws right on target.
Sonic says, "That's it! The eye is its weak point! If I can get it another time…."
Sonic sees the jaws flying at him again, and he dodges the attack. When it flies back, Sonic sees his chance and spins dashes at it multiple times,until it's unable to take the attacks anymore. The Sand Scorpion begins to collapse as it falls to the ground.
Sonic grins and says, "Sorry, but you were in my way."
Soon, the monster disappears into purple dust. After defeating the Sand Scorpion, something is lying on the ground in its place. They rush over to see a glowing yellow ring.
"There it is, Sonic!" Shahra calls out.
"So that's…" Sonic replies, looking at it.
"This must be one of the seven World Rings the Erazor Djinn spoke of!" Shahra says.
Shahra then tries to pick it up, but something is preventing her from doing so. The ring is phasing through her hand.
Shahra becomes surprised, "I can't pick it up…"
Sonic then decides to pick it up. In doing so, sparks come from it.
Sonic reacts, "Ow!"
Just then, Shahra says, "'When darkness descends upon the Arabian Nights - the legendary blue hedgehog from another world shall come.'""
"Me? Legendary? You've got to be kidding!" Sonic asks, feeling a bit surprised and with confidence, "You're gonna make me blush!"
Then Shahra continues, "'When the seven rings that control the world are gathered, the portal between the worlds shall open. But the life of the collector of the rings shall be offered up in sacrifice as the key for that control.'" That is what is written in the newest chapter of the Arabian Nights."
This leaves Sonic in shock, "Say what?! I'm supposed to be a sacrifice?"
"That, I cannot say for sure," Shahra says, "But I do believe that these World Rings hold the key to some kind of mystery. And I think that we need to collect them to get to the bottom of this mystery."
Sonic then points to the Flame of Judgement in his chest, "Well, considering that I still have this arrow in me to worry about. I guess I'm in a pinch either way, right?"
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault that all of this is happening to…" Shahra says.
But Sonic laughs it off, "Hahaha. Hey, don't worry about it. Besides, don't you know how fast I am? Time may fly, but I'm even faster!"
And with that, Sonic and Shahra dashes off as they continue to find Scheherazade and rescue her.
