The Secret of the Rings Episode 4: Fire Spirit of the Evil Foundry
After being able to travel through the rest of the Dinosaur Jungle, Sonic and Shahra are now standing in front of what looks like a large castle. They look to see how big the place is and wonder if the spirit has already gone inside.
"Well, here we are. This is where the spirit is," Sonic says.
"We must be careful, Erazor Djinn's spirit army could be inside," Shahra says.
"Right," Sonic says with a nod.
The two then begin to walk inside the castle. Once inside and walk down the stairs, they soon see a large sector of the castle that is full of pipes and machines.
Shahra asks, "Is this a castle?"
"Yea, but it's no ordinary castle," Sonic says.
Then says, "Let's go check it out."
Sonic and Shahra begin to explore the strange mysterious castle to see if they can find any clues to the spirit's whereabouts, or perhaps Erazor's Djinn's whereabouts. As they explore, they soon notice a large robotic like being walking around
Surprised, Sonic says, "Whoa, who's this big guy?"
"I've never seen a spirit get that big!" Shahra says, surprised.
"Let's go search around and see what we can find," Sonic says.
"And try to avoid any more spirits or Erazor Djinn. There's a possibility he might be here," Shahra says.
Sonic and Shahra begin to sneak past the giant spirit and explore around the strange castle. They had to scale some of the structure to get to a different hallway and elude the traps. They soon run down the halls and dodge any obstacles, or use his spin dash to knock down any tanks and other spirits that might attack.
Just then, they end up running into one of the large robot- like spirits.
"Oh dear!" Shahra reacts in shock.
"I got this!" Sonic says.
Sonic then uses his spin dash attack to strike at another tank, and it strikes at the spirit. The spirit falls and is knocked down, giving them time to get away. They hurry down the hall and suddenly notice the temperature in the tunnel is beginning to rise.
"Oh! The air is so hot in here!" Shahra says, surprised and feeling warm.
"You're not going to evaporate, are you, Shahra?" Sonic asks.
"No. But the place feels so hot," Shahra answers.
"Yeah. It feels like an oven in here," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra continue to explore through the hot tunnel and are able to dash into a different part of the castle.
Shahra sees trouble up ahead, "Look out, Sonic!"
"I got it!" Sonic says.
Sonic jumps up and spin dashes the enemies in his way. Then Sonic and Shahra continue forward. They continue to wander deeper into the castle and soon find themselves in some hot room full of robotic spirits. There are more machines and some are flowing lava or hot liquid through a ramp and into a pool.
"You know Shahra, I'm starting to think this is no ordinary castle," Sonic says.
"I think you're right," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra continue to explore through the castle, and Sonic has to defeat any spirit as he makes so many different twists and turns. Of course, they soon find more pipes and rams that are flowing the strange hot liquid. Of course, Sonic continues to fight the enemies as he travels down the halls and rooms of the building.
Just then, they enter a different room that has strange presses with air vents. Down below, there is more of the hot liquid, making the room very hot.
"Do doubt it, this place is not really a castle," Sonic says.
"You're right. This place seems more like a foundry if anything," Shahra says.
"And we'll have to get past the machines to get through," Sonic says.
Shahra says, "Be careful Sonic, those machines could hurt you if you're not careful."
"Just watch," Sonic says.
Shahra goes into the ring, and Sonic speeds through the machinery without getting crushed. He runs down the halls, past the machinery, and other areas full of machines, traps, and evil spirits. As they travel through the foundry, the rooms feel like they're even hotter than the last.
"You're really fast, Sonic," Shahra comments.
"I know," Sonic says.
Shahra then notices, "Look out Sonic, it's more of those giant spirits."
Sonic looks ahead and comes to a halt to see the spirits.
"Quick Sonic, you must strike them on the head to defeat them," Shahra says.
"Thanks Shahra," Sonic says, liking the advice.
Sonic jumps and spins dashes the robotic spirits on the head. He then spin dashes three or four more of them. Once they're defeated, Sonic continues forward with Shahra inside the magic ring.
After traveling through the mysterious castle, which turns out to be a strange looking foundry, Sonic and Shahra reach the center of the building. Floating over the large round opening full of fire and hot liquid, Erazor Djinn is in front of them, surrounded by a purple circle and sparks. Whatever Erazor Djinn is up to, it can't be good.
Seeing him, Sonic calls out, "Shahra! It's him! What's he doing here?"
"He's calling more spirits!" Shahra says, shocked.
"Spirits?!" Sonic asks, shocked.
Erazor speaks an ancient summoning spell, "Ifalas zaras I e zaraq. Ifalas zaras I e zaraq."
Then, a magical pattern appears as Erazor Djinn continues to chant, "Come forth from the fiery depths of Jahannam, ye condemned by Iblis! Iz Afrit!"
And suddenly, a hot liquid gushes out of the giant hole. Coming out of the large hole is a fiery robot with glowing red eyes comes out of the hot liquid
The fiery robot lets out a mighty, "Roooaarr!"
"That's...!" Sonic says, shocked.
Shahra says, "It's a djinn that controls fire... It's called an Ifrit?"
The fire spirit called Ifrit continues to ride and the whole area begins to shake.
Erazor says, noticing the two, "I have already carved up half of the pages that make up this world."
"Then why do you need to call forth a creature like that?" Shahra demands.
Erazor maniacally laughs and says, "I've decided to let the Ifrit burn whatever pages remain in the book." Then says to Sonic, "You, blue RAT! Have you gathered the seven rings yet?"
"And enough of that RAT stuff... seriously! I'm a hedgehog! HEDGE-HOG!" Sonic shouts, deeply offended.
"All you filthy vermin are worthless just the same…" Erazor says, "At any rate, you'd better hurry it up!"
Just then, the flame that is on Sonic's chest is beginning to burn out.
"Dang!" Sonic says, gritting his teeth.
"With only half of the flame left, only half of your life force remains," Erazor says, and disappears in the purple circles.
Sonic calls out, "Wait!" and places to go after him.
Sonic starts running after him, but Ifrit gets in front of him as it, "Roooaarr!"
"Hey, you! Get out of our way!" Sonic says.
Sonic then performs his Spin Dash attack, but to no avail.
Sonic is shocked, "What the...? That didn't work!"
Then Shahra cries out, "It's no use, Sonic! Your life is tied to the flame! You cannot fire with fire!"
"Oh yeah? Just watch me!" Sonic says, determined to beat it.
But soon notices the danger, "Oh, this does NOT look good!"
Then Sonic rubs the ring on his finger, "Shahra! Lend me your power!" And calls out, "Time Break!"
The Ifrit prepares to grab Sonic, but just then, time has stopped and even the fire spirit stops.
Then Sonic says, "Sorry, but we've got to run! Don't worry - I'm sure we'll get the chance to play again real soon!"
With that, Sonic and Sharha quickly dash off before the fire spirit can move again.
Outside of the castle like foundry, Sonic and Shahra are able to escape out of there in the nick of time.
Sonic quicks in relief, "Phew, what was way too close."
"Yes. That was far too close for comfort," Shahra says, looking worried.
"Yeah," Sonic says, and looks at the flame on his chest, "And I'm afraid I don't have much time.
"Yes. We must return to Sand Oasis and try to figure out another plan to defeat the Ifrit," Shahra says.
"You're right. Let's pick up Scheherazade and get back to the city," Sonic says.
Soon, Sonic and Shahra continue their adventure through the part of the Dinosaur Jungle, to pick up one of the creators of the Arabian Nights.
Meanwhile, Scheherazade is waiting patiently for the two to return. In a matter of seconds, Sonic and Shahra are able to meet up with her.
"Sonic. Shahra. You both are back. Are you okay?" Scheherazade asks in concern.
"We're alright, but we had a giant fire spirit called the Ifrit," Sonic says.
"Oh dear," Scheherazade says, worried.
"Do not worry, we'll find a way to defeat it. For now, let's return you to the palace. King Shahryar must be very worried," Shara says.
"Of course. We must return to the Sand Oasis," Scheherazade says.
Sonic picks Scheherazade up and says, "Alright then, next stop, the Sand Oasis."
Sonic then dashes off with Shahra and Scheherazade back to the Sand Oasis, which isn't very long at all. They soon reach the palace where Sonic and Shahra drop off Scheherazade. King Shahryar is very relieved that Scheherazade has been returned safe and sound.
Scheherazade bows a bit and says, "Thank you for rescuing me. I wish you luck on your journey."
"No problem. Shahra and I have to get going. Make sure you two stay safe and don't have any more run in with Erazor Djinn's minions," Sonic says.
"Farwell," Shahra says.
With that, Sonic and Shahra take their leave to find out a new plan.
Scheherazade turns to Shahryar and asks, "Your highness, do you think Shahra told him about his origin?"
"I'm not entirely sure, but she'll have to tell him about Erazor Djinn sooner or later, it might give him a clue on how to defeat him," Shahryar says.
"You're right. Only they can find a way to stop Erazor Djinn, or the Arabian Nights will cease to exist," Scheherazade says, deeply concerned.
After leaving the palace, Sonic and Shahra are now walking around town and trying to think of an idea.
Sonic begins to recap on what happened at the foundry, "Okay, so we need to find a way to defeat that fire spirit. Since my uh, life is tired to the flame, none of my attacks work on it."
"Hmm, if only there is a way to weaken the fire spirit," Shahra says.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar voice, "Oh, hello again."
Sonic and Shahra turn to see Ali Baba, Tails's counterpart walking towards them.
"Oh hey. You're uh, Ali Baba, right?" Sonic asks.
"Yes. Uh, sorry I don't think I caught your name," Ali Baba says.
"Right. I'm Sonic, and this is Shahra. She's a Genie," Sonic says
"Hi," Ali Baba says, "I couldn't help that you two seem to be in a bit of trouble, do you need any help?"
"Actually, we kind of do," Sonic answers.
With that, Sonic explains to Ali Baba about how they had to rescue Scheherazade from one of Erazor Djinn's spirits, how they travel through the Dinosaur Jungle, them finding the mysterious castle that is actually a foundry, and how they barely escape the fire spirit within the foundry.
Sonic concludes, "...then we escaped back here."
Ali Baba thinks, "Hmmmm." and understands the problem Sonic and Shahra have on their hands.
Then Ali Baba says, "Well, let's see... My friend Sinbad might be able to share some of his worthy knowledge with you."
"So, where is he?" Sonic asks
"Well, according to rumor, he was fighting some pirates when he was taken by the Rukh," Ali Baba answers.
"The Rukh…" Sonic replies.
Ali Baba explains, "It's a giant bird. Well, not exactly a bird. It's more like a living fossil.
"Huh. Well, okay," Sonic replies.
Then asks, "So then where is this, er... bird thing?"
"I think the Rukh flocks someplace out in the skies to the west," Ali Baba answers.
"The skies, huh?" Sonic replies.
Then says, "OK! Hey, Shahra!" And rubs Shahra's ring.
Soon, Shahra appears and asks, "O Master, what is thy wish?
"We need that magic carpet! We've got ourselves a Rukh track down!" Sonic answers.
Soon, Shahra uses her magic to make a magic carpet appear before their eyes.
"Thanks Shahra," Sonic says, and climbs on the magic carpet.
Shara then sits next to him.
"Come on, we have a Rulkh to find, and an adventurer to save," Sonic says.
With that, Sonic and Shahra ride the magic carpet up into the sky to find Sinbad and the Rukh that has captured him.
