The Secret of The Rings Episode 8: The Skeleton King Solomon's Dome
Sonic and Shahra continue to travel through the desert and soon reach a canyon-like area. Their destination is to find King Solomon at the Skeleton Dome. However, to their surprise, what seems like snow begins to fall from the sky.
"Snow?" Shahra questions.
She looks at the snow and says, "No… it's something else."
"If it's not snow, then, what are they?" Sonic asks.
"I'm not sure," Shahra says.
Sonic and Shahra continue to speed across the area. Of course, Sonic fights off the spirits, but something seems different to them. The spirits look like they're made out of bones. What's more, the area they've arrived in also has bones scattered around.
Sonic looks around and says, "These bones are giving me the creeps."
"We can probably use them to climb up some of the areas," Shahra says.
"That might work," Sonic says.
Sonic does that and uses them to climb up some of the areas to dodge the traps and spirits around. Sonic continues to run across the mysterious bone scattering and snowing land, and of course defeating any of the spirits that are in the area. Of course, it doesn't help that Sonic and Shahra continue to see different skeletons and bones in the area.
Soon, the two run through the tunnels that are full of gates in their ways, and spirits who are trying to stop them. When they reach the other side of the tunnel, they come across a strange cavern with pillars and platforms and not very sturdy bridges on them. Down below, there is a large body of water.
"This place feels really cold, and the water looks icy cold down there," Sonic says.
"And the bridges around it don't look like they will hold for very long. You'll have to be extra careful walking across these bone-like bridges," Shahra says.
"Yeah. I have to be extra quick about it," Sonic says.
Sonic then speeds across one of the bridges that quickly collapses. Luckily, his speed gets him to another platform. Sonic continues to his speed carefully to get across the bridges, and stop at the platforms when he reaches the other side. Finally, Sonic and Shahra are able to get to the other side of the large cavern and reach the tunnel. Sonic and Shahra quickly run through the tunnel, despite having run into trouble with the spirits and traps being set up. It's good that the tunnel isn't as cold as the cavern, and has torches hanging on the walls for sight. As they run down to a different area of the tunnel, they end up seeing two skeleton spirits with swords.
Shahra calls out, "Watch out for the two-handed sword!"
"Got it!" Sonic says.
Sonic quickly dodges the swords being swung at them. Then Sonic jumps and spins dashes at the skeletons and they break into pieces. And notices that their attacks aren't that fast, more like slow.
"You think you can hit me with a slow attack like that?" Sonic questions in remark.
Then Sonic spin dashes at more of the skeletons and they break into pieces. Then Sonic and Shahra continue onward through what they find themselves in a building. More skeletons show up and Sonic spin dashes all of them, causing them to scatter to the ground. Sonic and Shahra continue onward, facing the spirits, dodging the traps, and searching around the building to find King Solomon. They continue to head down and deeper into the building. After their long run, they reach the bottom of the trail and find themselves in a different hall. Soon, at the end of the hall, they reach some strange looking platform with a skull floating over it that has red eyes.
"What is that?" Sonic asks.
"I believe it is a magical teleporter. It might lead us to King Solomon," Shahra says.
"Okay then, let's see," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra walk on the platform and are soon teleported to a different location. Of course, there are more skeletons walking around and swinging their swords.
"Huh, talk about instant transport," Sonic says.
"And we have trouble up ahead," Shahra says.
"No problem," Sonic says.
With that, Sonic accelerates his speed and ram the skeletons like they're nothing. Then spin dashes some of the spirits that appear. Once defeated, Sonic and Shahra continue on. They run down the halls and see a similar teleporter.
"Sonic, go through there," Shahra says.
Sonic does just that and goes through the teleporter, and they end up in another location. Sonic and Shahra end up in another location and continue forward, dodging traps, defeating the skeletons and spirits, and pressing on triggers to open the gates. Soon, they end up coming across two teleporters. One of them has red eyes and the other has white
Shahra notices, "There's something strange about the eyes in the skill…"
"Let's go through the one with the red eyes," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra go to the skull with the red eyes and they end up in another location. They continue to travel through the cavern and spy three more teleporters. Sonic and Shahra soon understand and suspect the skeletons with the red eyes are the ones that will teleport them further, and hopefully to where the king is. This time, they end up in what seems like a treasure chamber with gold, jewels, and treasures scattered in the area.
Shara happily says, "We hit the jackpot!"
"Literally," Sonic says
Shahra soon notices, "Sonic, there's another teleporter at the end of the hall."
"Then let's go! Speed Break!" Sonic says.
And with that, Spin speeds faster and reaches the teleporter with ease and are soon in another location upon entry.
Sonic and Shahra continue forward and see that the place seems different from the others.
Sonic asks, "Is this a tomb?"
"It looks like some kind of arena," Shahra replies.
"Maybe," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra continue forward and run down one of the halls; there are treasures scattered in the area. Of course, there are traps and spirits, which Sonic is able to get away quickly.
Shahra says, "Quickly! We must find the king!"
"Then let's pick up the speed!" Sonic says.
Then calls out, "Speed break!"
Sonic uses his speed to go faster and soon, they reach deep within the chamber. Sonic and Shahra soon arrive in the dome, and in front of them is a chair with a large skull on it. And it's wearing a golden crown with purple beehive
Sonic says, "It looks like we might be a little late."
Suddenly a voice says, "I should say so!"
Soon, the skull begins to float, catching Sonic by surprise, "Whoa!"
Shocked, Shahra asks, "King... King Solomon?"
"Indeed! I am the great and powerful King Solomon!" The skull, King Solomon answers.
"If you say so…" Sonic replies
Not too happy, King Solomon says, "Don't think I'm happy looking this way either! The Erazor Djinn did this to me! He resurrected the 40 Thieves as evil spirits and sent them to attack me here."
"And that's how you ended up... like that?" Shahra asks.
"Precisely, my dear," King Soloman answers, "And that being the case, could I ask you a favor? Might I beseech you to track down the rest of my body? I'd also be grateful if you could do something about the 40 Thieves, as well."
"Hah! No problem!" Sonic says, eager to help and eager to fight them off.
Sonic then dashes off with Shahra close behind.
Sonic shouts, "All right! Time to rumble!"
"Don't get too careless!" Shahra calls out.
"Don't worry, I got this," Sonic says.
Shahra looks ahead, "I hope so, because there are some of the forty thieves now."
Sonic looks ahead to see some of the Forty thieves up ahead. Sonic acts fast and dodges them as they swing their swords. Then Sonic spin dashes them until they're defeated. Sonic is able to defeat at least six of the forty thieves and he continues to search around for King Solomon's body.
Shahra looks around the area and says in amazement, "Wow, this place is huge!"
Sonic looks to see the skeletons around and says, "So, this is why they call it the Skeleton Dome."
Sonic continues to explore around the dorm, and each time, he ends up running into some of the forty thieves, so he spin dashes, punches, and kicks them all. At the same time, he dodges all the traps and obstacles that are in the area. With his quick speed and agility, sonic is able to defeat all the forty thieves in the area.
Suddenly, a white glowing ring falls from the sky and straight to Sonic's hand. This time it was a white one.
Amazed, Sonic says, "Hey, look at this."
"It's a white ring. One of the seven, I'm sure," Shahra says.
Sonic then grabs the ring and sparks come out from it, "Uh! Definitely one of the World Rings!" Looking at it, Sonic says, "It feels... it feels like light. To think this thing... could cause so much trouble."
"You mean... the ring?" Shahra asks,
"Such great power can bring people either happiness of misfortunes," Sonic says.
"There are many such stories told of in the Arabian Nights," Shahra replies.
Then Sonic says, "For instance, this ring seems to be filled with 'desire.' That could mean aspiration, or maybe it could be great and ambition."
Shahra remains silent after hearing it.
Then Sonic asks, something that's been in his mind for a while, "Just what does Erazor want by collecting all of these rings?"
Shahra turns away and is looking deeply concerned. Sonic turns to Shahra and notices the distress she appears to have.
"Shahra, are you okay?" Sonic asks.
"I'm okay. I'm just deep in thought of something…" Shahra says.
"Are you concerned about Erazor Djinn and what he's been doing?" Sonic asks.
Shahra remains silent, but also nods in reply.
"I get it, but don't worry, we'll stop him and return the Arabian Nights back where it belongs," Sonic says.
"Of course," Shahra says.
Then Sonic looks at the ring, "With this ring, now we've found six of them so far."
"Which means, we only need to find one more, and then, we'll have to face the Erazor Djinn," Shahra says, showing even more concern from the statements.
"Come on, let's go search for King Solomon's body parts," Sonic says.
Shahra nods her head in reply.
With that, Sonic and Shahra head off and go through one of the teleporters up ahead. When they land on the platform, they find themselves in the upper floor, back to the hall they went through earlier
Shahra notices, "Sonic, there is it."
Sonic and Shahra look to see a large bone with some design on it.
"That must be it," Sonic says.
"One of the King's body parts," Shahra says.
Sonic then grabs it and continues running. They go through the teleporter and appear at the other hall. Sonic battles against the skeletons and spirits in his way, and soon, they both find the second body part and go through another teleporter ahead. They appear in another location and Sonic fights off the skeletons until they're defeated. Sonic then notices large brocks in the way. Sonic spin dashes them for them to be destroyed. And soon, he found three more large bones.
"It appears we recovered all of them," Shahra says.
"Come on, let's get this back to the king," Sonic says.
Sonic and Shahra hurry down the halls and into the hall they've been through before. They hurry as fast as they can, dodging the traps and defeating the spirits. They hurry past the arena, the treasure room, and the places they've been before. Sonic then uses Speed Break to get them there faster.
Sonic and Shahra soon reach the throne where the King's head is.
Sonic then presents the bones, "Here you go, Solomon. We found all your body parts."
Just then, the bones begin to float towards King Soloman and by magic, King Solomon is back together again. He is now wearing a white robe with golden and purple trims, black, purple, golden, dark green, red, orange and blue waist cloth, and various jewelry.
Having been put back together, King Solomon explains to him about the situation with spirits and how Erazor Djinn is connected to it.
King Solomon continues, "...and many such spirits were driven to madness. It is my fault that they became the minions of the Erazor Djinn. However, by carving up words that make up our world, new spirits have also appeared. His power is nearly godlike."
"Godlike, huh...?" Sonic replies, "Well, that's a problem, then."
"Even so, supernatural beings like the Erazor Djinn always have weak points, that are told of in stories," King Solomon says.
"Huh?" Sonic says, confused.
King Solomon then explains, "In truth, he is a Genie of the Lamp. Somehow, though, he has escaped. If we had the lamp he belongs to, it could be possible to seal him away again... forever."
"Lamp, huh?" Sonic replies.
Hearing that, Shahra gently turns her head away.
Then King Solomon says, "Hmmm... There is one problem, though. Returning the lost stories to their original state requires greater power than we have. It would take a miracle."
"Leave it to me. That's why I'm here, after all," Sonic says, confident.
"I see," King Solomon says, and leans his head close to Sonic, "So, then you are the legendary blue hedgehog… A great curse had been placed upon you. I can see your eyes, the grim fate that awaits you."
"Hey, quit staring. You're giving me the creeps!" Sonic says as he steps back.
"Hm," King Solomon replies, "I am a bit hesitant to put this upon you, but... I will tell you this. You can find the Erazor Djinn in his palace, up in the sky. Show me that your part of this legend can come true."
"Thanks…" Sonic says, "Now it's time I make a legend for myself, then!"
Then King Solomon says, "Hold the White Ring up to the palace gates, and they will open."
"OK! Thanks for your help," Sonic says.
With that, Sonic and Shahra take their leave, leaving King Solomon alone in his throne room. King Solomon watches as they leave in silence.
Then King Solomon says, "I sense death approaching…"
