Death Egg Strikes Back Saga Episode 1: The World Can Wait… Or Can't

One bright sunny day in New Mobotropolis, everyone is living peacefully and doing their everyday activities. Suddenly, Sonic begins speeding across the city and seems to be in a hurry. Everyone gets caught by surprise as Sonic zips through the city.

Sonic says in thought, "The kid's gotten faster!"

A little ahead, Tails is flying as fast as he can go with T-Pup close behind. He seems to be holding something in his hand and flying through the crowd.

He flies across the city as he says, "Excuse me! Coming through!"

Everyone becomes surprised to see Tails flying over them with the little robotic pup close behind.

Tails looks back to see Sonic and says, "He's seen me! I don't know if I'll make it!"

Sonic then bounces off the building and catches up with Tails.

"Weaving through the crowd to throw me off… smart," Sonic says in thought.

Soon, Sonic reaches one of the buildings and sees Tails flying up.

Tails reaches his hand up and says in thought, "Almost there! Almost-!"

Sonic then uses his speed to scale the building as he runs towards Tails who is heading towards the top of the building.

Finally, Tails reaches the top as he shouts, "Base! Base!"

And Sonic grabs hold of him as he reaches the top, "I totally caught you!"

And the two managed to land on the top of the building.

"No way! The flag is officially captured!" Tails says.

"Barely!" Sonic says, and takes the flag. "Best three out of five? I'll hide it this time."

"How about somewhere less obvious?" Tails replies.

"Obvious?" Sonic questions.

"Yeah. Some place that isn't Chuck's diner or under your bed," Tails says.

"Maybe I am in a bit of a rut…" Sonic says. He then smirks, "...Or… Am I lulling you into a false sense of security."

"Gee, I wonder…" Tails rolls his eyes, "Shouldn't you be getting ready for your date with Sally?"

Sonic waves the flag at Tails and says, "Aw, that's not 'til tonight. We don't get enough time to just goof off. Don't worry, I've got plenty of time."

"If you say so," Tails says.

"Relax, Sally and Sonia aren't going to be from Stormtop Village for a little while. We still have time for one more game," Sonic says.

"Alright," Tails says.

Meanwhile, at Stormtop Village of the Dragon Kingdom, Sonia and Sally are with Ken to check on how things have been going.

Ken continues to explain, "And aside from the usual Yagyu Raids, things have been going well.

"The other clans have been cooperating?" Sally asks.

"Oh, they're still bickering and posturing and blah, blah, blah!" Ken answers.

"Politics are never easy," Sally says.

"Yeah, yeah, but the free people are living in peace, so I can't really complain. Dulcy and the others are doing the best they can to find any signs of what's left of the Iron Dominion," Ken says.

In the prison, the Iron Queen has a scowl expression on her face to hear Sally, Sonia and Ken's voices.

"And the Iron Queen?" Sonia asks.

"Obnoxious, but she's not going anywhere," Ken answers.

"But you didn't come here just to check up on the Dragon Kingdom," Ken says.

"We do care, but after the incident with Eggman's theme park, Eggman hasn't been seen. We don't know what he's up to," Sonia says.

"And we were able to recover after the Mother Wisp that almost attacked the city," Sally says.

"Indeed. Knowing the doctor, he might show up again, and has some plan that could lead to trouble," Ken says.

Sally then brings out the Warp Ring, "We better be going. I have a date with Sonic." and tosses the ring to open the portal.

"I sometimes forget that it's daytime where we're at," Sonia says.

"Yes. I do hope you come back soon," Ken says.

Sonia says, "I'll come back as soon as I can."

Then takes her leave, "Goodbye Ken."

"Bye Ken," Sally says.

"Goodbye Sally. Goodbye Sonia," Ken says.

Sonia and Sally then leave through the Warp Ring and reach back to New Mobotropolis. And the Warp Ring closes soon after.

"So Sally, are you ready for your date tonight?" Sonia asks.

"A little, but also nervous," Sally says. "I just need to figure out…"

And suddenly, Sonic, who is trying to hide the flag, crashes into Sally.

Then the two fall to the ground.

Sonic helps Sally up, "Whoa, sorry, Sal. Didn't see you there."

"No, I'm sorry, I… might be a little late tonight," Sally says.

"S;cool," Sonic says.

"Thanks," Sally says.

Then turns to Sonia, "I have to get going Sonia. I'll see you around."

"Bye," Sonia says.

Then Sally notices Tails, "Hi, Tails. I've gotta run!"

Sally then hurries to Acorn Castle to get ready for the night out.

Sonic sheepishly says, "... I totally lost track of time."

"I told you so," Tails says.

Sonia sighs, "Why am I not surprised?"

Sonic then zips back to his house at top speed. He soon ends up meeting Uncle Chuck, Eve, and Jazz.

"Hey Sonic, how was your little game with Tails?" Eve asks.

"Doing good, but I'm in a hurry," Sonic says.

"What's up, Sonny-boy? Eggman back?" Uncle Chuck asks.

"Not this time, Uncle Chuck. I'm going to be late for a date!" Sonic says, and zips into his room.

"Chao?" Jazz replies, confused.

Eve walks into Sonic's room to see Sonic polishing his shoes,

Eve asks, "Nervous?"

"Me? Nah. I just want this to go right for Sal," Sonic answers.

He rushes to the mirror to check his quills, "No worrying about the nanite stuff. No worrying about Eggman…"

Then says, "I want this to go perfectly for her. Just… chilling out like old times."

"Sonic…" Uncle Chuck says, walking to Sonic.

He places his hand on Sonic's shoulder and says, "Just relax and act the way you always do. Just like the old times."

"No worries, unc'. I'm always cooler than cool," Sonic says.

Soon, Sonic and Uncle Chuck do a fist bump.

Then hurries out the door.

"Bye girls, see you later," Sonic says, and runs out of the house.

"Bye Sonic. Have a good time with Sally," Eve says.

And soon, Sonic rushes to the Castle Acorn to meet Sally.

Meanwhile, in her bedroom, Sally is looking over her clothes and has no idea what to wear. Her mother, Alicia walks in to see Sally is having trouble.

Sally asks, "What am I going to do, mother? I have no plans for this!"

"I'm afraid I'm of no help, dear, dating was… different… in my days," Alicia says, holding one of the dresses.

Sally checks the dresses and wonders, "formal? Casual?"

"How serious is this date?" Alicia asks.

"I dont know!" Sally answers in a panic.

Then quickly sits down in front of the mirror to check her hair, "What about my hair? Up? Down? Do I have to ask Bunnie?"

"Sally…" Alicia says.

Then turns her around and says, "Be yourself. That's the girl he fell for."

"I'm not sure I know how to be that, but thanks…" Sally says, and hugs her mom.

Soon… Sally leaves the castle and meets up with Sonic.

"Sorry for the delay!" Sally says.

"Aw, don't worry about it. Ready for dinner?" Sonic says.

"Sure. Chuck's diner sounds good to you?" Sally replies.

"Normally, yeah, but I got us reservations at Creme De La Creme," Sonic says.

"You did?" Sally asks, surprised.

"It's our first date in forever, so I figured we'd do something fancy. But if you'd prefer Chuck's…" Sonic says.

"No!" Sally quickly says, "That sounds fine."

The two then link arms and begin to head to the restaurant.

Sally says in her thoughts, "It is a serious date. And I came like this. I blew it alright."

As Sonic says, "Antoine recommended the place. Said that they don't use margarine, or something like that…

And so, Sonic and Sally arrive at the Creme De La Creme.

"Reservation for two, under 'Sonic.' Sonic says to the waiter.

The waiter checks the list and says, "Ah yes. I have your reservation. Right this way."

Soon, the waiter escorts Sonic and Sally inside the restaurant. Soon, Sonic and Sally are seated down to have a good night together.

Suddenly, they hear, "Hi Sonic. Hi Sally."

They turn to the table behind them and see Mina and Ash.

"Hi Mina. Ash. You guys are here too?" Sonic says.

"That's right. Mina and I are on a date tonight. You guys are too?" Ash replies.

"We actually are. It's been a long time and we could use it after all the work we've been doing," Sally says.

"That's understandable. After fighting Dr. Eggman all the time, you both could really use this," Mina says.

"Couldn't agree more. Things have been pretty quiet around lately. No Eggman, no robots, or monster attacks," Sonic says.

"And you're not the only one who is out for dinner tonight. Hershey and Geoffrey are sitting over there," Mina says, and points to see Geoffrey and Hershey are having a night out as well."

"Yes. I feel that tonight is a good night for couples," Sally says.

Sonic blushes and says, "Yeah. I guess so. And we deserve this after a long time."

And with that, the two begin to enjoy their night out at the restaurant. It truly is a good evening for couples.

Later in the night, Sonic and Sally are walking at the Lake of Rings as many Chaos are flying around, having fun, and swimming.

Sonic turns to Sally and says, "Tell me something, Sonic."

"Hmm?" Sonic replies.

"Were you waiting for me all this time?" Sally asks.

"Nah," Sonic answers.

"Such charm. Be still, my heart," Sally says.

"I knew you wouldn't want me to, we've all got our own lives to lead. We've got to live them the best we can," Sonic says.

"You're right. Besides, there's no use telling Sonic the Hedgehog to stop moving," Sally says.

"Nope," Sonic replies.

Sally laughs, "And you are always moving fast." and pushes Sonic with laughter.

"What can I say, I'm always moving fast with my speed," Sonic says.

"Well, don't get too much further ahead," Sally says.

"No? Why not?" Sonic asks.

"Because I want to be at your side," Sally says.

"Really? Think you can keep up?" Sonic asks.

"If you let me," Sally says.

"Yeah… I guess I can slow down for now," Sonic says.

And with that, the two continue to have their wonderful night together.

The next day, at the Eggdome… Eggman's 'abandoned' base… Eggman seems to be up to something.

Eggman says to Snively, "Snively! I want you and your Egg Mobile prepped and ready for launch in ten minutes."

"Yes sir," Snively answers on the screen.

"I'll meet you at the command room. Ten minutes!" Eggman commands.

Soon, Lien-Da walks in, "Sir."

Eggman turns the chair around to see the female Echidna, "Ah! Grandmaster Lien-Da! How is my favorite patched-together lacky?"

"Fine. All systems are finished and on-line. The hull damage has been repaired and we're ready for launch… provided your mission actually succeeds," Lien-Da answers.

"Oh, it will. And then the real fun begins!" Eggman says with an evil smile.

At Freedom HQ of New Mobotropolis, the Freedom Fighters are having an important meeting to discuss Eggman's earlier activities and the recent non-activites Eggman has been lately, well ever since the incident with the Wisp planet.

"Alright everyone, we're here to discuss mysterious activities Dr. Eggman and the Dark Egg Legion have been doing," Sally says.

"We know for sure that Dr. Eggman has been recruiting different Mobians from all over Mobius, and we know that he is keeping whatever he has hidden," Sally says.

"He's also been very quiet since the incident at his Amusement park," Tails says.

"Yes. Still, what else do we know," Sally says.

"We know that Eggman had the Walrus including Rotor's family work as laborers and security for some refueling station," Manic says.

"And my uncle said that he's using the oil station for something to gather a lot of oil," Bunnie says.

"And said that the refueling station was used for something big," Eve says.

"And who knows what Eggman has been having the Dark Egg Legion do while we were dealing with his amusement park," Nicole says.

"Eggman has been very silent lately," Nic says.

Then turns her eyes away, "And I don't like it."

"I don't like it either. Ever since the Amusement park incident, we haven't had any sightings, and it's making me very worried," Sally says.

"Whatever Eggman is doing, it must be something big," Tails says.

"And very bad," Cosmo says, worried.

"If we don't find out what he's up to. I shudder what his latest plan is," Sally says, growing deeply concerned.

Meanwhile, at the Eggdome, Eggman's bunker… Eggman is working on another one of his evil schemes. Eggman gently places the Chaos Emerald on to a containment chamber.

"And with one little Chaos Emerald, the preparations are complete," Eggman says.

Then the machine inside clamps onto the emerald, and keeps it in place.. Then the machine activates and charges the emerald's power.

"How are the reading, Snively?" Eggman asks.

"They're incredible! All systems are already charging by five percent!" Snively says.

Then Eggman flies off from the chamber on his Eggmobile, "Very good. I'm on my way to the command deck. Begin Launch preparations."

Shortly later in the command deck, the Dark Egg Legion are hard at work on the computers and checking the data and setting up the program.

Soon, Eggman returns to the command deck and his Eggmobile is set down at its station.

Eggman says, "Snively! Lien-Da! Report!"

"All systems are online and engines are fully powered," Snively answers.

"Stage one of 'Operation Clean Sweep' is charged to fifteen percent," Lien-Da says

"Marvelous! Simply marvelous!" Eggman says, satisfied.

Then commands, "Begin the countdown!"

"Are you sure?" Snively asks, "Shouldn't we wait until stag one is at least…"

"Shut up, Snively," Eggman says, "It's time to remake the world in my image."

And with that, the countdown starts from 10 minutes.

Still in Freedom HQ, the Freedom Fighters continue with their meeting and they continue to ponder on what Dr. Eggman could be up to, and what his latest threat might be.

"Still, what could Eggman be up to by building those places?" Manic asks.

"Oui. Eggman usually makes his plans known, except when zey are so important that it needs to be hidden away," Antoine says.

"You're right. So Eggman must be working on something big. And it must be bigger than the other plans he came up with," Sally says.

"I sure want to know what he's up to. Cause if we don't have any clue what it is, this could mean trouble when Eggman decides to make a move," Sonic says.

Back at Megaopolis, 3 minutes of the countdown. Something begins rising from underneath the city. And soon, the strange something begins to unfold itself and fly up.

Lien-Da types on the computers it says, "Nasal sensory array deploying… Ocular shutters opening.. Ventrals engines beginning preliminary burns…"

Soon, the strange craft does what the controls indicate and begins to rise out of the grounds of the city.

The time continues until it reaches 1 minute. Something continues to rise out of the grounds underground in the city. Soon, the engines begin to escalate and charge up for launch. When countdown ends to zero, the mysterious aircraft launches into the air, causing a loud boom and making the ground floor shake rapidly.

Back in Freedom HQ, the meeting continues until the ground begins to shake, startling everyone and are shocked to hear it. The ground shakes rapidly that objects fall over and some even fall out of their seats.

Sally asks in shock, "What in the world was that?"

"That was hectic!" Sonic says, shocked.

"I'm not picking any signs of underground vibration or shifting within Mobius," Nicole says.

Manic sits up after falling to the floor, "Dude, what was that?"

"Was that an earthquake?!" Fiona asks.

"I don't think so. If anything, something shook Mobius with great force… and probably from a distance," Eve says.

"Whatever it is, it would have to be something big," Sally says.

"What could have caused that?" Cosmo asks, worried.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Eggman has something to do with it," Eve says.

"I think so. He's been quiet for a long time, maybe…" Sonic says.

Suddenly, Maria and Galaxina hurry into the meeting room.

"Sonic! Eve! Sally! We've got big trouble!" Galaxina panics.

"What's wrong, girls?" Sonic asks.

"There's some giant aircraft that looks like Eggman floating outside towards the city," Maria answers.

"A what?!" Sonic, Eve, and Sally exclaim in shock.

Back at New Mobotropolis, everyone continues to do their daily routine. But suddenly, something begins to overshadow the city, which catches the eyes of everyone in the city. Seeing it has everyone in complete shock, striking fear on everyone's faces. Soon, everyone begins to scream and panic. Some runway while others are petrified in fear. Meanwhile, Sonic, Eve, and the rest hurry outside and gasp in shock at what they see.

"No…" Sally says, stunned.

"It… it can't be…" Eve says, shocked.

Also shocked, Sonic says, "I think it is…"

What they see is a large floating aircraft that resembles Eggman. To make matters worse. This looks exactly like the Egg Dome. Realizing what it is, this spells trouble for the citizens on New Mobotropolis and Eggman's evil plan has begun. The floating aircraft before them is really…
