Death Egg Strikes Back Saga Episode 2: Return of the Death Egg

The Freedom Fighters stare up at the newly Death Egg in shock to see it airborne over the city. Soon, Sonic and Eve realize that everything has been made since. They find it strange how Eggman has been focusing on the Egg Dome, and how Dr. Eggman and Snively haven't been doing any known activities since the Iron Dominion incident. And they can't forget about the increase in the Dark Egg Legion, the refueling station being constructed at the Tundra of the Refueling Station, and what Bunnie's Uncle Baron said, it all makes sense. Eggman has been working on reconstructing the Death Egg the entire time.

"How did we miss it? The Eggdome wasn't just a bunker. He was rebuilding the Death Egg!" Sonic asks, shocked.

"It's easy to miss something of what we weren't even looking for, and none of us could ever suspect that Eggman has been building it," Sally says.

"From what you told us, the Death Egg is dangerous, especially when Eggman's controlling it," Fiona says.

"What should we do?" Cosmo asks.

"We need to get back to the city and head to the airfield," Sally says.

Then Sally brings out her computer pad, "Nicole, I need you to help make sure everyone gets to safety."

"At once, Sally," Nicole answers.

Eve turns to the others, "Maria, you Cosmo, and Galaxina head back home. It's not safe with that thing around."

Then turns to Jazz, "Jazz, you better go with them."

"Chao," Jazz says.

"Okay Eve, please be safe," Maria says.

With that, Maria, Jazz, and the Seedian sisters hurry back to the city.

Then Sally turns to the Freedom Fighters, "All right Freedom Fighters, We need to stop that thing before Eggman uses it. Scramble the F.F. Special and the Tornado! Sonic, Eve, and Tails are with me. Antoine, you lead everyone else, and contact Geoffrey and Hershey, we'll need their help."

"Yes princess, it shall be done," Antoine says.

"Thanks. I'm counting on you to keep Eggman forces busy while my group sneaks into the Death Egg," Sally says.

Then Sally commands, "Freedom Fighters, let's move out."

With that, the Freedom Fighters rush into the city and make their way to the airfield.

In the city, Nicole appears on the big screen and announces, "Citizens of New Mobotropolis, we're on a Code Red alert, please return to your homes or take shelter until further notice."

Hearing the announcement, all the citizens of New Mobotropolis return to their homes and remain inside. Some also take shelter in nearby places as fast as they can and make sure their locations are locked and safe.

Soon, at King Frederick's airfield, the Freedom Fighters arrive and get their aircraft ready. Sonic, Eve, and Sally are on the wings of the Tornado, while Tails is in the driver's seat.

On the computer pad, Nicole says, "Comm-link established, Sally."

"Tornado ready for launch," Sally answers, "What's your status, Antoine?"

In the airshir, Antoine says, "We are ready for ze launch…"

But he and Bunnie are at the deck of the airship.

Then asks, "... And everyone is secured."

In the ship Amy, Geoffrey, Hershey, Fiona, and Nic have their weapons set and ready to fight.

"We're ready when you are," Amy says.

Then Sally asks, "Rotor, what's your status?"

Rotor, Sonia, and Manic are inside the X Tornado, and Rotor is in charge of flying it.

"We're ready Sally," Rotor says.

"Alright, Freedom Fighters, let's take down that Death Egg," Sally says.

With that, the Freedom Fighters take flight into the air and make their way to the newly developed Death Egg.

In the control room of the Death Egg, Dr Eggman is satisfied that his airship is airborne and is over the city as they speak.

Lien-Da looks at the controls, "Chaos Emerald Energy feed is stable. Engines are at optimal burn. Operation: Clean Sweep is charging, and all systems are green."

"Good, good,. Everything is running like clockwork," Eggman says.

Checking the screen, Snively says, "Sir! We have resistance inbound!"

Eggmna laughs, "Ha ha ha! Do the rodents look worried, Snively?"

Snively sighs, "Of course they're not. And neither are their Freedom Fighter comrades."

And on the screen, it shows the Freedom Fighters flying in three different aircrafts.

"Of course those two are too stupid and stubborn to be scared," Eggman says, annoyed.

Then commands, "Commence fire! Blast those Freedom Fighters out of the sky!"

And with that, the Legionnaires set their weapons, and fire at the Freedom Fighters. The Freedom Fighters dodge the attack and begin to fire back. On the Tornado, Sonic, Eve, and Sally hang on as Tails tries to get close to the Death Egg.

"Y'know, I'll accept that he's back after the incident with the Wisp, but I feel really stupid for not figuring out his plan. I mean we searched, all over that stupid place! Multiple times!" Sonic says.

"I don't feel too smart about it either, but maybe that's what Eggman wanted, to throw us off the track," Eve says.

Then turns to Sally, "Any idea on how to get in?"

"So, if that's the North-facing wall…" Sally says, looking at the Death Egg. Then has an idea, "Tails! Bring us around to the back! Aim for anything unusual about twenty degrees down from the top!"

"Got it!" Tails says, giving a thumbs up.

Tails flies the plane to the back of the Death Egg and he uses the computer on his plane to see a weak spot.

"I think I see something," Tails says.

Tails then fires a blaster at the Death Egg's weak point, making an opening.

"How did you know to…?" Sonic asks.

"I figured he would patch our entry point at the last second to maintain his charade," Sally says.

"And now we have our way in," Eve says.

In the control room of the Death Egg.

Lien-Da says, "We have a hull breach in the upper deck!"

"Of course we do. They got there a little faster than I expected," Eggman says.

"Do you want them to ruin everything before…?" Lien-Da questions.

"Tch-tch-tch, not now," Eggman says.

Then turns to Snively, "How goes Operation Clean Sweep?"

"Stage One will be ready in five minutes. Stage two is at seventy-five percent," Snivelty says.

"Ah! I love it when a plan comes together!" Eggman says, excited.

Then says, "Stay on course. I'm going to personally oversee the activations."

With that, Eggman rides on his Egg Mobile and takes off.

Lien-Da angrily slams her fists on the controls, "That crazy bloated idiot! He's setting himself up to fail, just like last time! I don't understand how you can stand working for him."

"I can't, really," Snively answers, bluntly.

Back outside, Sonic, Sally, and Eve are ready to board the Death Egg.

Sally turns to Tails, "Sonic, Eve, and I are going ahead. Have the others do everything they can to draw attention away from us!"

"Roger that!" Tails says

"Hang on guys, this is going to be a rough landing," Eve says.

With that, Sonic picks up Sally, and he and Eve jump off and fly through the opening inside the Death Egg. They both are able to make a perfect landing. Then Sonic places Sally down.

Sonic turns to Sally, "So where to, Sal?"

"I'm not sure," Sally says, removing the goggles, "Eggman hid the lower decks from us perfectly. We also have to consider the hallways we searched before as just decoys…"

Suddenly, they hear a slamming sound and turn their heads to see an estranged legged robot patching up the hole that has been made, and uses the laser to blend the metal together.

"Looks like Doc insists we stay for dinner," Sonic says.

"And it cuts us off from any chance at back-up," Sally says.

"Looks like we're on our own," Eve says.

"Or I could, y'know, smash that robot, it's kind of my thing," Sonic says.

But Sally says, "No. This is classic Robotkin Egotism. He's inviting us into his trap, and we'll use that to our advantage. We don't know exactly what he's up to yet."

Sally types her computer pad and asks, "Anything Nicole?"

"Just as before, Sally, nothing," Nicole answers.

"And how are things going in the city?" Sally asks.

"All the civilians are inside, and I've put up the protective bubble," Nicole says.

"Keep me updated. And how are the others…" Sally asks.

Suddenly, a door suddenly opens, surprising them.

"Is that… an elevator?" Eve asks.

"Looks like it," Sally says.

Soon, the three walk inside the mysterious elevator.

Sonic shouts in frustration, "This is adding insult to injury. I searched this hallway how many times, and this stupid elevator was here all along?"

"Focus Sonic. Be ready for anything," Sally says.

Moments later, Sonic, Eve, and Sally reach a different floor. They walk out to see some strange capsule with a strange metal egg inside.

"What in the world is all this for?" Sally asks.

"It's Eggman. Does he really need a reason?" Sonic replies.

"I have to agree. Now where's…" Eve says.

Suddenly, Eggman's voice echoes around the room, "Welcome! Welcome! It feels like it's been ages since our last get together!"

"I'll admit, I miss kicking your wide butt. Very easy on the ol' sneakers," Sonic says.

Then Eggman says, "It's refreshing to know your battles with the Iron Queen and at my Amusement park didn't dull that obnoxious streak of yours. In a masochistic way, I mean."

"Nothing's changed, doctor! Why don't you just come out so we can kick your keister " Eve says.

Suddenly, Sally hears something, "Sonic, Eve, something's coming up the elevator."

Eggman laughs, "Ah-ah-ah, rodent! To earn an audience with me, you've got to prove you've still got it!"

With a ding of the elevator, the doors open to reveal a giant robot that looks like Sonic, but three times Sonic's size, and it's a silver color with similar looking shoes.

Sonic is excited, "Oh, Sweet! It wouldn't be a Death Egg without another me in the fight, and Silver Sonic is a good idea."

"Uh Sonic, that Silver Sonic looks more fierce than Metal Sonic," Eve says, concerned.

"Yeah! And the original nearly smashed Eve and me into chili-sauce. This is going to be awesome!" Sonic says, eagerly.

Worried, Sally says, "This isn't something to celebrate!"

Just then, the giant Silver Sonic curls up and begins to spin dash at them.

"Look out!" Sally cries out.

Everyone quickly moves out of the way.

"Are you kidding me? Look at it!" Sonic calls out.

"Sonic, stop messing around and get that thing!" Eve calls out.

"Right," Sonic says.

Sonic then spin dashes towards Silver Sonic, but Silver Sonic catches him. Sonic then speeds off from Siler Sonic. He scales the wall as Silver Sonic chases after him.

Eggman laughs, "Ha ha ha! That's it, Sonic! You're putting on quite the show!"

Sally calls out, "Sonic! It's just stalling us! We've gotta move on!"

"Now, now, princess, don't ruin his fun…! After all, you made this possible," Eggman says from a different room. "Remember it was your charity that left me in Snively's care when I had my… little episode. Had you been ruthless enough, you couldn't have ended me right then and there. I suppose you inherited that weakness from your father. After all, if he hadn't taken in that poor overlander all those years ago, none of this would've ever happened! You had your minor victories, to be sure, but only because you had Sonic and Eve's superior ability to make up for your weaknesses. And you…"

Snively appears on the screen, catching Eggman by surprise.

"Sir, stage one is fully charged and ready," Snively says.

"Marvelous!" Eggman says, and leaves his seat.

Snively calls out, "Th-this will affect us all, you know…"

"Oh, grow up. You won't feel a thing," Eggman says.

In the other chamber, Eggman says, "It's been fun, children, but the weapon is armed, and I must get to firing it. Farewell!"

Eve calls out, "Sonic! We're out of time! We've got to move!"

"Sorry, what? Just a second! I'm not done with 'tiny' here," Sonic says, still fighting Silver Sonic.

"Looks like Sonic has his hands tied with that Silver Sonic," Eve says.

"We better go ahead," Sally says.

Eve and Sally hurry to the hallway.

Sally brings out her computer pad and says, "Nicole, can you track where his voice is coming from?"

The two reach the hall, but suddenly a hatch opens from the side of the wall.

Followed by Eggman's voice, "Ah-ah! That's far enough!"

And coming out of the wall is a machine gun. Blaster.

Eve quickly gets in front of Sally and calls out, "Chaos Bubble!"

Eve creates the Chaos Bubble and protects herself and Eve from the blaster.

Hearing the noise, Sonic cries out, "Sally! Eve!"

Then Silver Sonic hits him under the jaw.

In a different room, Dr. Eggman pushes a button to be ready for his plan as he holds a glass on the other. And suddenly, a strong pulse of light activates from the Death Egg and sends it all over Mobius. And then, something strange begins to happen. Almost like, everyone is disappearing in some strange white light. Sonic rushes over to see Eve is holding back the blaster as hard as she can as she protects herself and Sally. Sonic begins to rush over to stop the blaster and save his sister and girlfriend, but suddenly, everything black out…
