Leena's POV
I finally had contact from Cypher and it wasn't good. The Metal Dragon had sent me a mental image that looked like an alleyway in the Wards section of the Citadel. As I made my way towards my destination Cypher sent me another image. He was located close to a club called Chora's Den in the Lower Wards.
A short ride later I arrived outside of the club in question. However, instead of going through the main entrance, I traveled in the opposite direction. I wished I had my guns but I would need to make do with something else.
I stopped in a doorway that seemed to be off-limits to patrons of the club. I looked around the corner and spotted several guards. The room was also dark which made my plan easy but I would need to keep my guard up. I called to the inner cat inside me and a few minutes later I was on all fours in my black panther form.
Using the darkness in the room I slid inside and maneuvered around the bozos on duty. Well, I was doing fine until I was spotted. I took cover behind a bar as I was being shot at. I saw a thug's silhouette coming my way so I waited for the right moment to pounce. When I did I caught my prey off guard and he fell unconscious. In a hurry, I reverted to my human form and swiped one of his guns, and made sure it was still loaded before continuing onwards.
As much as I didn't want to I returned fire on the fools who shot at me. I brought them down and didn't waste my time sticking around to wait for their backup. I felt Cypher was near and I hoped he was alright.
After some more walking around I arrived in the alleyway and in a cage big enough to hold his small form was Cypher. His mouth was bound shut which pissed me off. The Metal Dragon looked mad and I didn't blame him. I made sure the coast was clear before I hauled ass over to Cypher.
But before I could even touch the cage I was suddenly ambushed.
"Put the gun down girl" I was ordered and I obeyed.
A turian male approached and eyed me.
"If I were to guess your the dragon's owner"
"He's my companion, not my pet" I corrected.
"Yo is your name Leena?" another thug demanded.
"And if it is what is it to you?" I growled.
"Aw shit, Saren specifically said your not to be harmed" the thug stated.
"Can't blame the boss she's cute" the turian added.
"Our target is approaching man we can deal with her and the dragon later"
Since I was outnumbered I was dragged to a spot that was out of sight. Why would Saren tell his men not to harm me?
My train of thought was interrupted when I heard a female speak.
"Where's the Shadow Broker? Where's Fist?"
"They'll be here" the turian from before spoke. "Where's the evidence?"
"No way the deal is off" the female replied and there was an explosion. Gunfire then rang out and waiting sucked. But the gunfire didn't last long and the female from before told whoever was with her where I was.
When Garrus found me I wanted to hug him but I kept my composure.
"Leena? What are you doing here?"
"These idiots had Cypher" I answered as the turian helped me stand up.
"Cypher is alright but are you hurt?"
I did my best not to blush and I shook my head.
"Your safe now Leena" Garrus reassured me before bringing me to Commander Shepard, an unknown Krogan, and a Quarian.
"Thank god I was about to lose my mind in that cage," Cypher said the minute he was freed from the cage, and his mouth was unbound. The Metal Dragon flew over to me and he landed in my arms. I hugged him and I intended to give him a lecture later.
"I'm glad to see you are safe Leena," Commander Shepard said to me.
I only nodded and looked at the Quarian.
"You have my thanks as well"
"Of course" the Quarian responded. She then turned to Shepard. "Fist set me up I knew I couldn't trust him"
"Don't worry about Fist he got what was coming to him"
"Then I guess there are two things I need to thank you for who are you?"
Shepherd introduced himself along with Garrus, the Krogan whose name was Wrex and then myself along with Cypher.
"I'm looking for evidence to prove Saren's a traitor"
"The hell?" both me and Cypher said.
I decided to say something else. "One of those guys mentioned I was not to be harmed per Saren's orders"
"Do you know why?" Shepard wondered.
"No, I'm afraid I don't sorry"
Garrus looked annoyed but why I had no idea.
"I have a chance to repay you for saving my life, but not here we need to go somewhere safe" the Quarian explained.
"We could take them to the human embassy, your ambassador will want to see this anyway" Garrus suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea" Shepard agreed.
"Just give me a moment Shepard I want to speak with Leena"
Oh shit, I'm in trouble I thought.
Cypher sighed before spreading his wings and he flew to Commander Shepard's right shoulder. It wasn't long until Garrus and I were alone.
"You really need to tell that dragon to stay out of trouble," the male turian told me.
"I intend to give him a lecture later" I agreed.
"I'm just glad your not hurt Leena" Garrus stated. "However hearing that Saren wants you unharmed bothers me"
Was it just me or was Garrus Vakarian jealous?
I honestly couldn't tell.
"It makes me wonder too" I added folding my arms across my chest.
"Which is why I think you should stick around with me and Shepard for the time being" Garrus suggested. "I'd rather you be safe than dead"
Now that definitely got me to blush. Damn it I hope he wasn't paying attention.
"Alright if you think that's best then I'll go with you, but you know I can protect myself"
Garrus chuckled and nodded.
"Indeed you can but it's better to be safe than sorry"
A smirk came to my lips and the two of us went to catch up with the others.
Garrus is indeed jealous XD.
