Leena's POV

The elevator stopped but before we could get a move on the damn geth arrived with the Krogan.

"Shit" Cypher and I growled.

I got my guns back out.

"Surrender or don't that would be more fun" the Krogan spoke.

"Is there a reason why you're in the way?" Shepard demanded.

The Krogan eyed Liara first before his eyes went to me.

"We want the Asari as well as the shifter"

Garrus growled at that revelation.

"Now that the energy fields are down hand over the doctor as well as the shifter female"

"Whatever it is you want you're not getting it from me," Liara told the Krogan firmly.

"And why the hell do you even want me?" I snapped.

The ruins were starting to get more unstable.

"Saren wants his female alive and brought to him"

"Over my dead body" Garrus hissed before coming up behind me and he wrapped an arm around my waist and drew me closer to him. "She's not going anywhere with you or near that bastard"

My eyes widened when he spoke those last few words.

Cypher let out a roar before taking flight from my shoulder. While he began to hiss flames at our opponents Garrus let go of me and our group was in another shoot-out. While gunfire was exchanged Garrus never left my side and I watched his back.

We killed the geth easily but a pissed-off Cypher was completely ruthless on the Krogan. The Krogan's eyes were scratched all to hell and bloody. The idiot was too busy trying to find whatever was attacking him since he couldn't see Cypher thanks to his illusion. While the Krogan was distracted Garrus had a clear shot and he took it.

The Krogan fell lifeless to the ground and when one of the Prothean shields faded away our group ran like hell. Cypher managed to land on Liara and used his claws to hang onto her as we hauled ass out of the ruins before they completely caved in.

Back on the Normandy

"Too close Commander ten more seconds we would've been swimming in molten sulfur," Joker told Shepard.

The Normandy was out of Therum and where our next destination was to be determined. All of us were in a group meeting.

"The Normandy isn't equipped to land in exploding volcanoes, they tend to fry our sensors and melt our hull, just for future reference"

"We almost died out there and your pilot is making jokes?" Liara asked in shock.

"It's a coping mechanism you'll get used to it" Shepard reassured the Asari.

"I see it must be a human thing I don't have a lot of experience dealing with your species Commander" Liara went on. "But I am grateful to you, you saved my life back there, not just from the volcano, those geth would have killed me or dragged me off to Saren"

I saw Garrus tense at the mention of Saren's name.

"What did Saren want with you? Do you know something about the Conduit?" Kaidan questioned.

"Only that is was somehow connected to the Prothean extinction, that is my real area of expertise, I have spent the last fifty years trying to figure out what has happened to them"

Shepard politely asked how old Liara was and the Asari said she was a hundred and six years old.

"Holy shit" Cypher stated from his spot on my shoulder.

"Damn I hope I look that good when I'm your age" Ashley added.

The Asari had longer life spans than most of us on board. Shifters such as myself could live to be two hundred.

The meeting continued with talk about the Protheans and how Saren intended to bring back the Reapers. I suddenly saw my dream and how Saren was interacting with me in it.

"Hey, Leena you alright?"

All eyes were on me and it had been Shepard who asked me that.

"Is it alright if I go back to my quarters, I think I need some rest"

This was the truth I did feel tired and I didn't want to hear any more about Saren right now. Shepard nodded and dismissed me. Cypher flew off from my shoulder and said he would keep Liara company. When he landed on her shoulder Liara scratched the area behind his head and the Metal Dragon purred. I think Cypher had a crush on her and if that was the case I would tease him later.

When I got back to my room I took the armor off and took another shower. Afterward I pulled my usual clothes back on and the moment I touched the bed I was out like a light. I ended up sleeping for a few hours and as I was waking up there was a chime letting me know someone was at the door.

I shook my head and wiped the sleep from my eyes as I got to my feet.

"Sorry Leena" Garrus apologized seeing I was still groggy when I opened the door.

"No your fine come on in"

I backed away and let the turian enter the room. The door shut behind him and I saw Garrus had brought me something to eat. I thanked him before eating the sandwich. As I ate Garrus was busy on some pad device. Now fully awake I set the plate down when I finished the sandwich.

"I wanted to see you earlier but I had a feeling you were asleep," Garrus said putting the device he was using down. "I wanted to make sure you were okay"

I decided now was the time to tell him I loved him. I no longer cared if he didn't feel the same way.

"Even if I was dragged to Saren, I would fight my way back to you Garrus"

The male turian now had my attention.

My face was definitely red but again that was irrelevant. I then walked to Garrus and took his hand into mine and placed it where my heart was.

"The one who has my heart is you Garrus Vakarian, always has been"

Garrus didn't speak but instead listened to the words I just told him.

"I love you, you're the only one I want"

"Leena"

Garrus then pulled me into an embrace and I felt myself relax in his arms.

"Do you know why I acted the way I did in the ruins? It's because I love you as well, come hell or high water"

His words made me cry and he took notice. He kissed them away before finally claiming my lips with his mouth. The kiss was sweet and gentle. He was careful not to accidentally bite my lips with his sharp teeth.

When the kiss was over he surprised me by picking me up into his arms and a few minutes later I was beneath him on the bed. I moved my head to the side so Garrus could kiss my neck and even when his mouth touched my skin he was still gentle. He showered both sides of my neck with kisses, followed by a few nips. The bites didn't even break the skin.

"Do you know how long I wanted to do this?" the turian asked. "Do you know how long I wanted you?"

"No idea"

Garrus chuckled.

"It's been some months since I came to realize how beautiful you are, Leena, and to hell, with Saren, because you are mine"

"As much as I'm enjoying this I want to take things slow"

"I know and I will honor your wishes"

Garrus then removed himself from on top of me and he was by my side. Like last night he brought me into his arms.

"You know Cypher is gonna tease us to no end when he learns we're together"

"He was already doing that before this moment" Garrus corrected me.

He was right on that one and I simply snorted while Garrus chuckled and he kissed my forehead.
