Several Months Later.

Leena's POV

"I wonder why Saren asked you to leave work for the day" Cypher said from his spot on my shoulder.

"Who knows buddy" I answered the Metal Dragon. "Maybe it's something about Garrus"

I missed my mate terribly and it killed me that I didn't know where he was. But I trusted my significant other and I would wait until he came back home.

Saren had asked for me to meet him at his office and I was in the elevator heading up there now. The older turian was waiting for me when I got off of the elevator.

"What is going on Saren?" I asked my friend.

"Its better to show you" he responded before nodding for me to follow him. Cypher and I looked at one other before following Saren to his office. When the older turian opened the door I felt my eyes widen and Cypher squawked.

Standing in front of Saren's desk was none other than Commander Shepard!

He was alive!

Saren's POV

Immediately Leena's body went limp and I was quick to catch her. Cypher was now on my shoulder and worried about the unconscious black panther shifter in my arms.

"Is she alright?" Shepard questioned coming over to me.

"I think she's just in shock"

With ease I scooped Leena into my arms and carried her over to the sofa and lay her there.

"She should be alright but let's wait for her to wake up before making any decisions" I advised Shepard.

The human Spectre nodded and after Cypher calmed down did he flap over to the Commander and the human male caught the Metal Dragon in his arms.

"You owe us an explanation human" Cypher reprimanded the Spectre after sharing his relief the Commander was alright.

"Oh I will buddy, let's just wait till Leena wakes up"

Leena's POV

I opened my eyes and I saw Saren hovering above me. He had a glass of water and he helped me sit up. I definitely wasn't dreaming because Shepard was close by with Cypher perched on his shoulder. I thanked Saren for the water and took a few sips before getting to my feet. Then I hugged the Commander and the human returned it.

Afterwards he made me sit back down and I did as he asked. Shepard explained that after the Normandy crashed he had actually died from asphyxiation. His body had been recovered from a group called Cerberus and through something called the "Lazarus Project" he was brought back to life.

Apparently human colonies throughout the galaxy have been disappearing and Shepard was being asked to investigate by Cerberus. When I heard there was a new Normandy I thought I was going to have a heart attack and Cypher gave another squawk but this one was joy.

"I plan on recruiting the whole team again and I knew you would be here on the Citadel" Shepard said.

"Well you don't need to ask me because I'm in" I replied with a grin.

"As am I" Cypher added.

"I'm glad to hear that Leena, I missed the science fiction Laura Croft"

I stood up and gave the Commander a playful smack on the shoulder. I then turned to Saren.

"Now I understand why you said I should finish work for the day"

"I'll let your boss and colleagues know about what's going on" the older turian promised. "Shepard's next destination is Omega, there's been reports of some being called Archangel that has caught his interest"

"How soon can we go?" I asked turning to Shepard.

"As soon as you are"

I smirked before telling the Commander all I had to do was go back to my apartment and pack. Cypher chose to remain with Shepard while Saren walked me out.

"When I'm gone try to score some more dates with Rue"

Due to their busy schedules Saren and Rue hadn't had another chance to get together for drinks again. It was obvious there was an attraction between him and the she-wolf.

"Trying to play match maker Leena?"

"Sort of but you deserve a chance with someone Saren and it's obvious from the look on your face you like Rue"

"Perhaps" was all the older turian said.

When we got to the elevator I gave him a quick peck on the cheek before getting inside. An hour and a half later I was being given the tour of the new Normandy and she was damn beautiful. I wasn't surprised to see Joker and we both exchanged pleasantries. Shepard also introduced me to Miranda Lawson and Jacob Taylor.

Both worked for Cerberus but would be with us for the time being. Miranda thought Cypher was cute and the Metal Dragon enjoyed having an affectionate scratch behind his side fins. Shepard then took me to my quarters and the room was a little bigger than my old one from the previous Normandy. Hell it even had a fish tank in it.

"Thanks for rejoining my team Leena" Shepard said to me in private. Cypher was already on the bed snoring away.

"I wouldn't have it any other way Commander I'm just glad your alive"

"I'm sorry I scared you and Cypher but the safety of my crew was what mattered to me when the last Normandy was attacked"

"I understand so no apology needed"

The human Spectre gave me an affectionate pat on the shoulder before leaving so I could get some rest. It would take some time to get to Omega so I decided to get some sleep. As I lay down my thoughts went to Garrus and I prayed he was alright.
