Act II: Grimbard
Percy Jackson drifted in and out of consciousness. One moment he was burning in the midst of a fireball, the next he was freezing as he floated through a cold and empty vacuum.
So this is dying, Percy thought somewhere in the back of his mind. Truly dying. But why could he still think and feel?
Nobody had ever fallen into Chaos that anyone knew. A goddess as old as Akhyls ought to know her lore well. If she said Chaos dissolved any and all that fell in, that's what happened. And yet, Percy's survival directly contradicted that. Not that he really knew he was alive. He didn't know he was barreling through space like a meteor, shot out of Chaos in a stream of light.
The son of Poseidon would not know exactly how he arrived in an entirely different galaxy for a long time. But one thing was for certain: he had been thrown not into a realm of nothingness, but into a portal to another world. He was no longer a demigod. His physical confrontation with Tartarus had called forth his hidden power, transforming him into a hybrid immortal. Part human, part god, part primordial.
This enabled him to survive his journey through the cold vacuum of space. When he entered the atmosphere of the purple planet, Percy almost awakened. He dreamed of his old life. The good, the bad, the fucked up, and the heart-warming. That was all gone. It would take time before he accepted that though. For now, the natives of this new world watched wearily as a streak of fire crashed into their warm waters.
A/N:
Hello all! This is Act 2 of the Half-Blood God. Whereas Act 1 was full of death and betrayal and heartbreak, all told from various perspectives; this next part is all about exploring this new galaxy Percy's fallen into. It deals with Percy getting a job, Percy finding purpose, Percy finding new worlds and meeting new people! That's a lot of dialogue and character/world building so make sure this is your type of shit. We're not even touching Earth for a long time, if at all, so don't expect me to switch perspectives to any other character you're used to. Annabeth, Nico, Coeus, Zeus...their stories are done for now. I'll let you all make predictions for the future.
I admit, the first chapter of this act (not including this one) is a little slow. I'm hoping to build pace with the next one. But it's important for you guys to give me feedback. If you like it, drop a favorite. You got thoughts, leave 'em. You hate the style, let me know, I might switch it up. I got no problem doing rewrites. I'm not looking to write perfection but I do want to write effective and easily digestible chapters.
