Leena's POV

I did end up getting scars from the Husk attack but they weren't that bad. I spent at least two days in the medical ward and by the third day, my wounds had pretty much healed. However, until we stormed the Collector Base I was going to stay out of missions.

The geth that was brought aboard turned out to be harmless and it joined our team. Its name was Legion and for a machine it had manners. While I had been recovering Shepard aided Legion on its own mission which seemed to go well.

Garrus rarely left my side when I was in the medical wing. The other crew members came to see me as well and they were glad I was on the mend. When Saren visited I actually hugged him because if it hadn't been for his quick thinking I could have died. The older turian had returned the hug and made a joke that made me snort in amusement.

At the moment I was in the cockpit of the Normandy keeping Joker company. Shepard and everyone else minus Saren, Cypher, and I had to leave the Normandy for a quick mission run. The IFF wasn't ready to be used.

Before leaving Garrus came to check on me and once he felt comfortable I was in good hands did my husband leave.

"Damn Leena your one lucky woman," Joker said as I watched Garrus go. "When you were unconscious Garrus was out of his mind with worry"

"Duh of course he was," Cy told the pilot. The Metal Dragon was lounging on Saren's shoulder.

I gave Cypher the bird which got Saren to snort and Joker to laugh his ass off. My right shoulder was still bandaged up and I hoped they could be removed soon. Instead of my Lara Croft outfit, I wore black sweatpants and a purple tank top. On my feet, I wore casual tennis shoes that felt comfortable.

Joker turned his attention back to his current task and he told EDI that her readings were off.

"I have detected a signal embedded in the static" the AI announced. "We are transmitting the Normandy's location"

Saren and I shot each other an alarmed look.

"Transmitting? To who?" Joker inquired.

Then out of freaking nowhere a goddamn Collector ship emerged over the Normandy.

"Aww shit!"

"Aww, f**k!" I added as I made sure I had one of my guns on me.

"Did the IFF have a virus EDI?" Saren demanded from the AI.

"Yes it's in the ship's computers" she answered.

She then told us the Normandy could be spared but in order to do so she needed Joker's help.

"Give me the ship" the AI advised Joker.

"What?! You're crazy? If you start singing Daisy Bell then I'm done"

"NOW ISN'T THE TIME TO ARGUE!" I yelled.

"She's right we need to get the Normandy's systems free of the virus" Saren agreed as he prepped his own gun. "Leena and I will cover you"

To lead us to the AI core EDI had the emergency lights flashing in the direction where we needed to go. The pilot sighed before giving EDI control of the Normandy and he stood up. Saren got in front of Joker while I stood behind him. Saren nodded at the pilot and Joker began to walk as fast as he could relying on the emergency lights to guide us.

"Shit, shit, shit" Joker muttered.

In the meeting room, the doors opened and one of the Collectors pounced on one of the crew, and gunfire was emitted. Saren and I were able to get Joker into the next room. However, a Collector took notice of us and Saren fired his gun at it while Joker made it to the maintenance shaft and began to climb down and I followed him.

We made it to the lower level safely and Saren joined us a few seconds later. This time the older turian and I had to stay behind Joker and while following him one of the crew members was thrown against a wall and a Scion dragged a screaming Kelly Chambers into the elevator.

I then swore when another Scion surprised us and the damn thing grabbed my ankle and pulled me onto the floor. However, Cypher launched himself onto the Collector and began to bite and claw the damn thing while I shot a lethal round into the ugly ass alien. When it fell I got back up and Cypher flapped over to my left shoulder and I hauled ass to where Saren and Joker were.

In the midst of the chaos Saren had successfully gotten Joker to the AI Core and the pilot listened to EDI's instructions and the room went dark for a minute before everything came back on. Now we had to go to Engineering so the primary drive could be reactivated.

"Ugh, you want me to go crawling through the ducts again" Joker growled.

"I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees" EDI replied. Joker didn't say anything. "That was a joke"

"Not a good time for jokes AI" Saren reprimanded EDI.

"Ditto on that" I agreed with the older turian.

EDI apologized before the three of us made our way down the ducts once more. We had to stay still because the damn Collectors were in Engineering. Once it was clear we followed Joker into Engineering and once more he followed EDI'S instructions.

While he worked EDI notified us she would be opening the airlocks so any Collectors left on board would be killed.

"What? What about the crew?" the pilot questioned.

"They are gone, the Collectors took them" EDI replied.

"Son of a bitch!" I spat and I punched a nearby wall in anger and Saren only growled in displeasure.

We made our way into the engine room and EDI sealed us in. The AI told us to hang on and Saren made me go to a railing and use it to hold onto. He then hurriedly did the same with Joker and no sooner did the two men grasp the rails did the Normandy move violently as it sped away from the Collector ship.

We didn't let go of the railing until the engine room stopped shaking.

"Damn it" I growled.

"Send a message to Shepard and tell him what happened" Joker instructed EDI. She did as he asked before asking if we were alright. Physically we were fine but emotionally that was a big fat no. Sometime later the Commander and everyone else returned to the ship and some of us were in the briefing room. Garrus had immediately rushed over to me so he could make sure I was okay.

"Everyone? You three lost everyone? And damn near lost the ship too?"

"With all due respect Miranda, back off," I told her.

Saren, Garrus, and Cypher glared at the human female.

"It's not their fault Miranda" Jacob defended us. "It could have been worse"

"Yes, it could have" Saren agreed.

"I'm taking Leena back to our quarters" Garrus announced.

"Go ahead"

I shot the Commander a grateful look before my husband escorted me out of the room. Cypher decided to stay with Saren. The moment we got back to our quarters Garrus drew me into him.

"I was scared when Shepard got the message, I thought the worst"

"I know babe, but I'm still here"

"Yes you are and I couldn't be more proud of you Leena, you kicked ass"

He then scooped me into his arms and lay us on the bed.

"We'll be going through the Omega 4 Relay soon, so let's get some sleep my Nightshade"

I was a little tired and it wasn't long until I was asleep in the arms of my husband.
