Leena's POV
Garrus and I were enjoying our honeymoon. The first few days when we weren't making love we explored the woods, watched television, and lounged on the beach. Turians weren't good swimmers so while I swam my Archangel would enjoy his lounging on the shore.
Now the two of us were on our way to my parent's house for dinner. My brother and sister were also going to be there. I just hoped my siblings didn't tease me. I was close to both of them but hell the three of us liked to give each other a hard time. Garrus wore casual turian attire that was comfortable for him while I wore jeans and a blouse I liked.
"You don't seem nervous," I told my husband as I drove the sky car.
"I was nervous crossing the damn ferry, you know turian's aren't good swimmers"
"That ferry got us onto the mainland" I reminded my mate. "But I understand your nerves while crossing"
Eventually, we arrived at my parent's place, and no sooner had I put the car in park was my sister running over in excitement. My little sister had red hair that went past her shoulders and the same colored eyes like mine. She didn't hesitate to bear hug me when I got out of the car.
"Ack! Dani, you're squeezing a little tight!" I shouted.
"Sorry but it's been freaking forever since you were last home"
She loosened her grip and I made sure to give my younger sibling the hug she deserved.
"That was one hell of a greeting" Garrus joked as Dani and I separated. My husband then held his hand out to my sister. "Garrus Vakarian"
"It's nice to finally meet you Garrus" Danielle responded shaking my beloved's hand. "I hope you're enjoying your time here on Earth"
"I am, thank you"
"I knew you would glomp Leena the second she pulled up," my older brother Owen told Dani in a scolding tone.
Owen was a doctor and he was well known in the medical field. He and I shared the same hair color but his eyes matched our mother's which were hazel. My brother ended up picking me up into his arms and he spun me around while Danielle and Garrus watched in amusement. Afterward, he and Garrus shook hands before we all went inside.
"Hey, kid welcome home" Mom greeted me the moment I came through the door. Mom had a habit of dying her hair in many colors and right now it was a mix of blue and green. She was what other people liked to call the "Cool Mom".
She then hugged me and it felt good to see her again. When we pulled apart Mom eyed Garrus.
"Well shit honey you weren't kidding when you said you found a handsome Turian"
"Mom!" I protested blushing.
"Well I'm not going to lie, sweetheart, Garrus I'm glad to finally meet you in person, Leena has said many good things about you"
Garrus chuckled.
"I'm glad to finally meet your family Hyacinth, and thank you for our wedding present"
"Vashon Island is a beautiful place but I wouldn't want to live there" Mom responded. "I prefer being on the mainland"
"Love even after being married and mated for close to three decades you should reconsider Vashon's beauty"
Mom shot my father a glare as he came up beside her. Dad had black hair and shared the same jade green eyes with me and Danielle. Dad gave me an affectionate pat on the shoulder before shaking hands with Garrus.
"I hope your hungry Garrus, we have the food meant for your people to eat as Leena explained"
"That's very much appreciated and it smells delicious"
Though he wouldn't admit it out loud Phillip Burke loved to cook. And he didn't disappoint this time either. For us the shifters Dad cooked grilled salmon, mashed potatoes, and a salad. For Garrus he cooked some sort of turian meat along with some sides. My husband was blown away and very much enjoyed his dinner.
"Garrus you used to be in C-Sec on the Citadel?" Danielle asked my beloved.
"Yes but I got fed up with their crap, I take it you wish to work as a cop?"
My sister smirked.
"Yes all my life I wanted to help people and put those away who do bad stuff, I have a few more years until I can apply for a job on the Citadel though"
"She's also a good shot" I added taking a sip of my wine. "Love I think Dani can kick your ass in a shooting match"
"Pssh doubtful sis" Dani replied. "From your emails, Garrus seems to be the better shooter"
"Well when you want I wouldn't mind a shoot-off, my sister and Leena had one and it was a tie"
That was true before leaving the Citadel my sister-in-law and I had a shooting contest and it was a tie.
"Danielle is also dating a turian" Owen blurted out.
Dani smacked our brother on the arm while I arched an eyebrow in interest.
"Since our brother decided to be a big mouth yeah I'm dating a turian, we've been dating for a year and a half"
"What is his name? I might know him" Garrus wondered.
Dani blushed for a moment before answering.
"His name is Tarquin Victus"
"I'm familiar with his father Adrien Victus" Garrus went on. "His entire family has been in the military since the Unification War, the Victus family are good people"
"We've met Tarquin on several occasions when he comes to visit Danielle, he's very sweet" Mom explained. "Though Owen I was hoping you would find a mate by now"
"Hyacinth"
"Dad it's fine" my brother reassured our father. "I'm in no hurry to find my mate"
"Well, the galaxy has plenty of candidates" Garrus chuckled. "When you find him or her, you'll know"
"That is true" Dad agreed. "Though sometimes it can be a bitch to wait"
That got all of us to laugh and the rest of the evening went well. It was late when Garrus and I returned to Vashon Island.
"I like your family," my husband said when we got back to our cabin. "Very nice people and your father did one hell of a job on cooking my food"
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself tonight, my family is everything to me"
Garrus chuckled before wrapping his arms around my waist.
"They're also funny too"
My mate then lifted me upwards and threw me over his shoulder.
"Babe I'm not in the mood for sex tonight" I pointed out as the turian walked up the stairs leading to the second level.
"I know I just felt like carrying my bride over my shoulder"
And that's the end of Part 2 guys! Part 3 is when the damn Reapers show up.
