Leena's POV

"Wrex you better step on the gas because that f**king Maw is on our ass!" I suggested.

"I'm trying to lose her Leena!" the krogan male shouted back as he began to drive the transport even faster.

While driving Wrex communicated with Shepard. Kalros was persistent though and I really didn't want to be her lunch.

"Thresher Maw getting closer!" Mordin exclaimed.

"No shit doc!" Cy snapped at the scientist.

"Metal in truck an excellent supplement for maw's diet!"

"Not helping Mordin!" I yelled at the salarian.

Wrex drove the transport for another good ten minutes before he finally stopped the rover and Shepard hauled ass inside the vehicle along with my husband and Saren. Wreav drove his rover off and Kalros seemed to notice and give chase after him.

"Hey babe" I greeted my husband and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Garrus chuckled as Wrex drove the rover in the direction of the Shroud. Eventually, he stopped the transport and we all got outside. In front of the Shroud was a big ass Reaper.

"I don't think we've got a big enough gun to handle that," Garrus said nodding at the Reaper.

"Actually Eve has an idea and it's a pretty good one"

I had the men's attention and I flashed them a smirk before looking at Eve.

"Kalros we summon her to the Reaper" the female krogan explained.

"Would that even work?" Shepard asked.

Mordin mumbled about the Reaper being distracted while he made the finishing touches to the cure. Wrex then explained there were two maw hammers close by and once activated Kalros was bound to show up.

Before we separated Wrex exchanged meaningful words with the Commander before charging forward to deal with some rachni. Mordin, Eve, and I made our way to the lab and the salarian got to work.

"I wanna see how big this maw is," I told Eve and Mordin. "Shale protect Eve, I'll still be watching from the air in case anything comes our way"

Shale nodded as Cypher transformed into his larger self and I got onto his back. He took flight and from the air I got a good view of the lab and the Reaper putting up a fight with the turian airships. At some point during the fighting, Shepard announced he got the first hammer working.

"How's Eve doing Mordin?" I asked the scientist through the commlink.

"The cure is almost finished though Eve's vital signs are dropping"

"I'm okay Leena" Eve reassured me.

I was glad to hear that because I was very fond of the female krogan.

"Shepard get that second hammer going!"

"There's a Reaper in my way Wrex!"

I laughed at the dialogue between the Commander and Krogan. Shepard then announced the second hammer was going and in the distance, I saw something moving. Then I heard the sound of a Thresher Maw and a few seconds later Kalros shot out of the ground and attacked the Reaper.

"Holy shit!" Cy and I said in unison when we saw how big Kalros was.

The large maw was determined to have the Reaper as her prey but the Reaper managed to toss Kalros off of it. Kalros hit the Shroud before retreating back into the ground.

"She isn't done yet" Cypher stated and sure enough Kalros came back out of the ground and this time coiled her entire body around the Reaper. We both watched as the Reaper was unable to fight back and Kalros drug the machine into the ground.

Mordin then said the cure was ready and Cypher landed by the lab. Now that her task was done it was my job to get Eve to safety. Cypher returned to his smaller form and after we wished Mordin luck Eve and I headed on out.

The Shroud was beginning to get unstable and I prayed Mordin would be alright. Eve and I met back up with Wrex and the three of us watched as the Shroud continued to fall apart. Shale then roared before she suddenly took flight and she transformed into her larger self. Cypher protested for his sister to come back but Shale ignored him and flew in the direction of the collapsing tower.

"Shit she'll could get killed"

"Fire doesn't kill our kind" Cypher corrected Wrex. "Metal Dragons can withstand fire hell without it the embryos inside our eggs would die"

The Shroud then dispensed the cure and it was an incredible sight to see. Shale was now at the top of the tower and she seemed to grab something with her claws before flying away as the top of the Shroud exploded. The bronze dragoness returned to where we were and she landed on three legs. She then placed a still alive Mordin onto the ground and I sobbed before rushing over to the scientist and hugged him.

Mordin mumbled something silly before returning the hug and it wasn't long until Wrex and Eve came on over to do the same.

Back at the Hallows

Still Leena's POV

"A long time ago my father betrayed me in this place, his own son, he tried to kill me, so I had to kill him right over there" the red krogan nodded at a spot. "That was what the genophage reduced us to animals but you guys changed that today"

"Now we'll fight for our children and not against them" Eve continued. "And thanks to Shale, Mordin is still alive"

Shale was on Mordin's shoulder and she rubbed her head against his face.

"Uh oh, Mordin looks like you got a girlfriend" I teased the Salarian.

"Not sure what to say" the miracle scientist confessed.

"We're forever grateful for what you have done for our people" Eve went on telling Shepard, Mordin, and I.

"Also let the Primarch know I'll be sending troops to Palaven immediately and when your ready to kick the Reapers off Earth let me know the Krogan are back in business" Wrex added in.

Eve then shook hands with Shepard before she turned to me.

"Leena I've enjoyed being in your company and know that Urdnot Bakara is proud to be your friend"

Just for her saying that I hugged the female krogan and Bakara returned it. We eventually pulled apart and I made sure to hug Wrex as well before Shepard, Mordin, and I left to go back to the Normandy. Once back onboard the ship we found Primarch Victus and Garrus in front of a projection of the weapon that would be used to kill the Reapers. Its name was the Crucible which seemed to be a fitting name.

Now that the Krogan would be helping the turians on Palaven the turians would help the humans. I took Mordin to the medical wing and Shale decided to keep the salarian company. Cypher flew off to find Liara and I rejoined Garrus in the center of the ship.

"Come on my Nightshade"

My husband suddenly picked me up bridal style and it was then I felt exhaustion coming on. We soon arrived in our quarters and Garrus made me go take a shower and I did. Afterward I pulled on some casual clothing and lay down on the bed after brushing my hair out.

Garrus was out of his armor and wore his underclothing. My mate let me rest against him and the turian kissed my forehead.

"I was worried you would be Thresher Maw meat" I joked.

"No thanks I'd rather not"

I rolled my eyes at his comment before feeling my eyes getting heavy. My Archangel kissed my forehead again and soon we were both fast asleep.

I couldn't kill off Mordin guys! He's such an awesome character!
