Leena's POV
Earlier the Commander had received a message from Councilor Valern and the Salarian councilor asked for the human Spectre to come to the Citadel. The Normandy was approaching the space station but Joker wasn't getting anyone to respond for clearance to land.
"I have a bad feeling about this" Cy muttered from his spot on my shoulder. Joker then said Thane was coming through via commlink.
"Shepard the Citadel is under attack," the Drell said. "Cerberus troops are everywhere and have control of the docks"
I swore and Garrus placed a hand on my shoulder. Saren growled dangerously no doubt worried about Rue. Ashley was with the council at the moment and C-Sec headquarters was in trouble. Shepard gave Joker some orders before he turned to us.
"You three are with me"
"Damn straight" Saren agreed. "Those assholes better not have harmed Rue"
The older turian then left to get ready and soon Garrus and I were doing the same. We quickly got our armor on and we met back up with Shepard on the shuttle along with Saren. Noire was perched on her companion's shoulder. Soon the shuttle left the Normandy and was fast approaching C-Sec Headquarters.
While in the midst of the gunfire being exchanged the shuttle stopped and the hatch opened. Immediately both Cypher and Noire took flight and began to burn down any Cerberus troops while the rest of us hopped out of the shuttle.
I let loose using both my Locust and one of my other guns. This attack on my home was not only personal to me but to Saren and Garrus as well. And if any of my loved ones were hurt there would be hell to pay. No one messed with those I cared about period. It took a few minutes to dispatch the Cerberus assholes before it was clear.
"Shit Dani!"
My little sister looked exhausted as she was applying medi-gel to Commander Bailey. The poor guy had gotten shot. After tending to Bailey my sister hugged me.
"I'm okay sis" Dani reassured me after we pulled apart. "So are Mom and Dad, I haven't heard from Owen but knowing him he's held up in the hospital"
"Damn it I hope your right I feared the worst"
"I'm hard to kill big sister" my red-haired sibling smirked before looking at Garrus. "Your father and sister are also safe Garrus"
"Thank you Danielle" my husband replied. "Like Leena, I also feared the worst"
Bailey despite being weakened got the door open and once it was clear we ventured inside. The damn hallway was full of bullet holes and it was trashed. Bailey went to the center console and went to work. He also found a message from Councilor Valern. Apparently, he was here to meet with Executor Pallin. That meant someone big was about to be charged.
"Valern mentioned something about Udina" Saren announced as Noire returned to his shoulder. "I never liked him, if Valern is here he's most likely in the Executor's office"
"Then that's where we're headed," Shepard told us.
Before we left Bailey did something so Shepard could communicate with him using their Omni-Tools. Thane also heard what was going on and was making his way through headquarters in a safe manner. I had Cypher fly ahead of us and in one of the hallways was a large wave of Cerberus troops.
Without doing too much damage Cypher burned them down while we again killed the soldiers with our guns. Noire then roared before taking flight and she joined Cypher in the fighting. Getting to the Executor's office was a slow process due to the large Cerberus waves we crossed paths with.
We finally came to the Executor's office and inside were a couple of dead Salarian bodyguards and a wounded Pallin. Saren hurried over to his fellow turian and gave the poor bastard some medi-gel while we looked around for Councilor Valern. His body wasn't present so he was definitely hiding somewhere.
"Yo I found him!" I alerted the others as I looked out a window. Councilor Valern looked scared shitless but was otherwise unharmed. I then swore when I saw a shadowy figure suddenly sneak up on Valern. Using my Locust I broke the glass and jumped down to the level below me. I had both of my guns pointed at the mysterious human. He was dressed in all black and I recognized the Cerberus logo on his uniform.
"Back off asshole" I growled while approaching Valern.
"Hmm, so you're the Science Fiction Tomb Raider a pleasure to make your acquaintance Leena" the assassin greeted while holding his palm out and an orb glowed in it. Shepard, Saren, and Garrus arrived as backup.
"Shepard he's going to kill us all! Udina is behind this he's planning on handing over the other councilors to Cerberus!" Valern shouted.
"I'll ask again you asshat back off" I hissed at the assassin.
"Now why would I do that when this is fun?" the bastard asked.
However, Thane suddenly appeared behind the assassin, and soon the two fighters were in full battle mode. Thane was about to get stabbed with the asshole's katana when Cypher shrieked and landed on top of the black assassin's left hand and he bit down hard. The assassin swore and Noire used that chance to use her small form to body slam the assassin away from Thane. Cypher let go of his hold on the assassin and joined Noire baring his fangs.
"Damn you" the assassin spat before taking off.
The idiot was going after the other council members and soon we were taking a sky car to where they were. However, the assassin from before suddenly jumped on top of the car. Shepard opened the sky car and Cy flew out of it. He used that moment to transform into his larger form. Using his tail he hit the assassin hard enough off of the car. The assassin managed to get on top of another sky car but he was shit out of luck when Cypher set the whole thing on fire.
"Good work buddy" I praised Cy as he entered the sky car again in his smaller form.
"I need a nap after this" he growled as Shepard drove the sky car where we needed to go. We arrived at our location and we of course had to deal with more Cerberus reinforcements while making our way to where the councilors were along with Udina.
"What the hell?!" Ashley exclaimed when we finally found her along with Councilors Sparatus and Tevos. Udina looked pissed since his plan was up in flames. Ashley had her gun pointed at us while the elevator door closed. The shuttle ahead was on fire.
"Shepard, what's going on?" Ashley demanded
"He's blocking our escape, he's with Cerberus!"
"You're the one with Cerberus you traitorous asshole!" I corrected Udina.
Cypher and Noire growled in agreement.
Ashley looked confused and unsure what to do as Shepard explained Udina was behind the attack on the Citadel. The Councilors looked shocked at this news. Udina scoffed before heading over to the console to override the lock. Ashley and Shepard shared a brief glance before she made up her mind and turned around. She pointed her gun at the human ambassador. I smirked as she ordered him to step back from the console.
Udina ignored her and the door began to be overridden. He even shoved Councilor Tevos aside when she tried to stop him. As Udina drew out a gun Ashley fired a round and it hit Udina right on the mark. He fell to the ground obviously dead and Sparatus helped Tevos up. The elevator door then suddenly opened but instead of Cerberus troops, it was only Bailey and Danielle.
"You two better be glad Commander Shepard and his squad mates saved your lives again Councilors," Danielle told Sparatus and Tevos.
"We are" Councilor Sparatus agreed.
Danielle put her weapon away before walking over to where I was and she hugged me again.
Later.
Saren's POV
"Rue?!" I yelled as I entered our apartment. It has taken hours until the Citadel was deemed safe and the moment things were cleared I hurried home. Noire decided to keep Shepard company.
"You don't need to yell my Moonheart I'm right here"
At seeing my Little Wolf was unharmed I rushed over to where she was and hugged her.
"Spirits I was so worried about you," I told my fiancée.
"I had the day off and when I heard what was going on I locked myself in and had my weapons ready"
She then kissed my forehead and placed hers against it.
"I just hope the damn shop isn't trashed god I'm gonna be pissed if it is" my Little Wolf growled. I snorted in amusement at her remark.
"That's why there's insurance Little Wolf" I teased.
Leena's POV
Mom and Dad were pretty freaked out after things calmed down. I made sure to see them when I was able to along with Danielle and Owen. My brother had been in the hospital and during the whole attack, he kept his patients calm along with his co-workers. Tarquin had been worried too about Danielle and he was relieved when my sister called him.
Thane was back at the hospital and despite a few cuts and bruises, he was going to live for a bit longer. I heard Kolyat was with him at the moment. Garrus made sure to check on Castis and Solana. They were a little steamed the station had been attacked but other than that they were glad to learn Garrus and I were okay. Cypher was back on the Normandy getting some rest with Liara.
"I'm glad we have a brief shore leave," Garrus said while massaging my back. We were in our apartment taking it easy after today's events.
"Agreed, I'm also glad Ash is back too"
It had been some time since I last saw Ashley and she looked well. Before coming home I saw her and James eyeballing the other. Garrus finished on my back and I sat up. Then I stripped my clothes off and gave my husband a smirk before going into the bathroom. I didn't have to wait long until my Archangel joined me in the hot tub. Mind you we simply enjoyed the hot water until we couldn't take it anymore.
