Barbara jumped into a side-turned position pointing at the alternate Barbara. Her "image" in the mirror jumped into similar position after a second of hesitation.
'The spider man meme!'
Not the brightest first thought when seeing your alternate-self under influence of the Goa'uld dressed in intricate Egyptian-inspired clothes, but…
"So you are still there…" murmured Barbara. She heard as the soldiers behind her were moving, pointing their weapons at the mirror. She could see the AU Barbara tracking something on her side of the mirror. A hand that landed on her shoulder startled her.
"Barbara," it was Carter. "Remember, she has a Goa'uld inside of her."
"I know," dejectedly whispered Barbara keeping her gaze on the mirror. The AU Barbara curled her index in a beckoning motion and Barbara found herself moving before catching herself before crossing the mirror border.
Her counterpart frowned before motioning for someone out of the field of vision to come closer to the mirror and both the females saw their Jack O'Neill being threatened with a Zat'nik'tel gun.
"I think I must go," confirmed Barbara as she and Carter kept looking at Barbara's counterpart threatening O'Neill.
Wadjet knew that Kawalsky and Samantha will be back through the mirror and had positioned her Jaffa around the room, warning them not to let their guard down. After all, she knew what SG-1 was capable of. And what a good job her men did! They had managed to capture the illustrious team, without suffering any wounds!
The Child of God knew not to let her guard down. SG-1 was famous precisely because they could flip the tables and the odds and get out of any situation. She couldn't get cocky. This Is what led to the downfall of all the villains.
Wadjet ordered her Jaffa to disarm the captured team. They went even so far as to force the team on the floor to their knees to present before her. They spoil her so much.
As she stood there studying the faces of her captives, she couldn't help but notice a small surprise on Daniel's face, furrowing of brows on Jack's, dropping of shoulders in both Kawalsky and Samantha. The alternate version of her Father's Prime, Teal'c, was stoically still. But she could see how his buccal muscles rolled slightly as if he was grinding his teeth. Was it really that awful to stand on his knees before the Child of God? Was this team so used to help from Barbara that they had forgotten how to be themselves?
"Jaffa, the mirror remote and the device they brought with themselves," ordered Wadjet, glad that she could overcome her host. It was a nightmare in the beginning as the host only spoke that gibberish that not one of the Jaffa could understand. She had to work relentlessly to force her host to be able to speak the Goa'uld language, and even later she could speak only the Gibberish and the Goa'uld, not able to speak the human language.
With the device in hand she looked for the alternate reality the SG-1 came from. She kept changing the realities until she stumbled on one where an alternate her was standing with a Carter and a group of soldiers behind her. Something stirred in her as she observed the AU Barbara who jumped in a pointing position. A picture of men in red and blue suits pointing at each other flew unbidden in to her mind. A moment of hesitation and she is in same position.
Her alternate self moved her lips.
Still there?.. Ha, only I am here!
Wadjet beckoned her AU-self. She did expect the hesitation from her counterpart and without hesitation ordered.
"Be prepared to shoot O'Neill."
Barbara shuddered as she emerged from the mirror, her hands in the air as one of the Jaffa present raised his Zat-gun and trained it on her.
"Hello there," she greeted the assorted company, focusing on her alternate-self.
"You may call me Wadjet," forced out Wadjet, unused to speak the Ancient language.
"As in the Protector Goddess of Lower Kingdom of Egypt?" interrupted Daniel. For his knowledge he was rewarded by a hit of Zat'nik'tel after Wadjet twitched one of her fingers. He slumped forward on the floor, his head hitting the floor heavily.
"What was it for?" O'Neill and Kowalsky cried together but the in turn were whipped with the respective weapons their Jaffa had.
"So that he would know better next time than to interrupt his betters," sneered the girl, her eyes flashing in reminder that she was a Goa'uld. "But no. Wadjet as in the Daughter of Apophis."
Nobody said a word after that. The humans unsure how to continue, the Jaffa having no need to say anything and Barbara...
"So, I guess you didn't find a way to wake up?"
This was not a question Wadjet expected to hear first.
Oh, don't get her wrong. She did figure a way her host could wake up. But let's be truthful. Who would like their host to die immediately after acquiring them. When her host had figured out that she knew the way she tried to end her life miltiple times. To stop the attempts all she had to do was flood her host with endorphins whenever she didn't try to think of suicide attempt. And voile! Her host was trained to stop thinking of suicide thoughts. Brilliant application of Pavlov's classical conditioning.
Although, she could give this Barbara a crumb of information to nudge her in the right direction.
After all, she didn't really need her or her device.
This universe was already derailed from its Fate with her arrival.
After all, she would take everything she needs with her own hands.
"I can neither confirm nor deny," Wadjet took pleasure at the view of slumped shoulders of the AU Barbara. Maybe she would have use of her. After all, she had to find a new way to torment her host. "But I do know that destroying the phone doesn't affect much."
Her alternate self was weak. No other conclusion came to her as the girl fell on her knees. Wadjet was ready to bet that the girl suspected that titbit of information, but wasn't really prepared for the alternative solution. The Child of God then glanced at the mirror that still was on. There, on the other side Carter was held back by some of the soldiers and General Hammond who had a worried look in his eyes.
Wadjet just couldn't help herself. She waved the soldiers in the mirror, a crooked smile on her lips, before cutting off the connection.
Daniel came to himslef in the Command room. He could clrealy see the rest of his team, in same predicament as he. Apophis was listening to something one of his Jaffa was narrating. If he focused he could pick up a few words.
"... happy to give... opportunity... Jack O'N... happy to present... with... Shol'va... but... defected..."
It would have been better if he remained unconscious.
"What of my Child? Will she not join me?"
"She had retired to her rooms," followed the prompt answer of the Jaffa. The False God hurrumped before turning to the group standing on their knees before him.
"Get information where their leaders fled from him," the Goa'uld pointed at the beatten form of General Hammond. "For the rest you are free to kill them."
Yeah, it would have been better if he was unconscious.
