CH 111
Within twenty minutes the staff notice armed feds walking down to both Jim and MacGyver room where they stand outside their doors. One nurse walk over to them
"Excuse me why are you here"
"Protecting a witness"
"On who orders" a doctor said
"the prime minister sir"
"Is this a joke"
"Call commander White sir"
"I will" then the doctor and nurse walk away.
Hours later charge walked down towards MacGyver room carrying a bouquet of flowers when he saw two feds outside her door. He walked up to her door and went to open it
"Excuse me, who are you"
"Charge, chief petty officer Andy Thorpe, I work on Hammersley with MacGyver" he got his ID out and showed the feds. They look at it and then him
"Ask MacGyver, that her navy nickname" One of the feds open the door and step in side
"Mrs Roff there a chief petty officer Thorpe to see you, do you know him"
"charge, yeah" he open the door
"sir" charge step ford then the agent stop him and turn to June
"Let him in, hi Charge"
"MacGyver i brought you flowers on behalf of the crew"
"thank you. Agent Johnson can you ask one of the nurses to bring a vase please"
"Yes ma'am" Charge walked in as the door closed. He put the flowers on the table then sat down on the edge of the bed and hugged her.
"It going to be ok"
"It not" they pulled back
"the doctors told me Jim pronoises. I don't want to believe them"
"He going to make it"
"I'm trying to tell myself that but the scans don't lie Charge"
"don't give up on him, cause we know he won't give up on you, he never once so you shouldn't give up on him. Remember it not the first time he was in a coma and he surprised everyone when he woke up" June thought about it
"Your right"
"you both are survivors you both have been through a lot together and came through it together"
"that true"
"don't worry before you know it one day you both home enjoying that chocolate moose that he talks to you about with that dark chocolate shavings through it"
"He loves his chocolate moose" she said, looking down at her hands just as the door opened, Charge turned to see a nurse with the vase with water in it.
"Wow these are beautiful flowers you got here June"
"Thanks Gail they came from the crew. Charge here brought them in"
"well someone got good taste"
"the florist" he said making Gail laugh as she sorted out the flowers
"He a funny guy"
"I know I work with him for five years oh and he hates rabbit food" she give Gail a wink
"What's wrong with lettuce, carrots cabbage"
"It rabbit food"
"Which is good for you. I'll leave you two alone"
"thanks Gail"
"No worries June" then she walked out the door.
"MacGyver why the security"
"Madeline cruise is out on bail"
"What? how can she get out on bail"
"Murphy looked into it. He came here and told me in person. I think everyone on the floor heard me"
"with your set of lunge i'm not surprised"
"funny and guest who paid for her bail"
"Ray walsman but he in jail, his daughter"
"ISCO paid for it"
"Your joking they are a government agency"
"I know and I don't think that the prime minister would be to happy about it when he finds out"
"no he won't" charge stayed for an hour before letting her get some rest. He walked outside getting his phone out and making a call.
The next day one of the orderly took June down to Jim's room, both agents went with them and June was in a wheelchair. When they pushed her into his room she cried as he pushed the chair closer to his bed. She saw the tubes and wires over his body including bandage around his head. She stood up from the chair and managed to sit on the bed holding on to his hand with both of her hands. She lifted it up to her lips and kissed it as tears fell onto his hand.
"OH Jim please don't die of me, i love you so much" she leaned over resting her head on his chest as she cried.
"Please don't die" the two feds and the orderly watch was what was happening. June stayed for an hour before she returns back to her room after kissing Jim on the cheek
"I love you Jim don't give up, please come back to me, we got to make pots of gold together as you say it takes two" she kiss him again
"I love you" Then the orderly helped her back in the wheelchair and they left the room with the two feds. Soon as she was in bed, she rolled over and cried.
The crew and her inlaw came to see her every day. Kate brought her sea bag and laptop with her three days after what had happened. She was taken down to Jim's room every day and spent an hour with him then returned back to her room.
Two weeks after the bombing MacGyver was able to go home. She had security with her till Madeline cruise trial and Hammersley left port thinking about Jim and June as they left port. June showed up in Jim's room every day, she spent hours with him then headed home for the night.
When the doctor checked on her wounds, he was pleased that they are healing nicely. Jim's parents return back home three weeks after the bombing. They and the family keep in contact with June the whole time.
A Month later MacGyver was leaning on Jim's chest looking at him. The wounds have heard and the bandage has gone from his head. He still had a heart monitor attached to him so the staff can keep an eye on any changes. He has a cat scan done twice a week and showed his fractured skull is slowly healing and plans on doing brain test to find out if there any brain damage done or not.
One day while she was leaning on his chest the door opened. She turned her head to see who it was then turned back to Jim. "June, we got a court date for Madeline trial" She didn't say a thing "It starts monday week. The thing is you will be called in to testify"
"sooner that bitch is behind bars the better and she can rot in hell" June said
"I now your still hurting"
"Too right, that bitch has hurt a number of people and she doesn't care"
"We know… the case starts at nine" she didn't say a thing so he walked out closing the door behind him.
"How did she take the news"
"she is still angry and I don't blame her. Madeline Cruise got a lot to answer for" then he walked away heading towards the exit.
The day of the trial MacGyver didn't show up in court. When the trial started they all knew it was going to be a very long trial with a number of witnesses from both SAS and navy going to be called in to testify. The lawyers spoke to the jury about Ms cruise and it was up to them if she is guilty or not. They started with the SAS. The men called in one by one to testify in what their mission is and what happens to that person.
That took three weeks. By then Hammersly been out on patrol twice. When they return mike, kate, swain, charge and dutchy was called in to testified about what happen, every thing. It was ten weeks since the bombing.
MacGyver was with Jim massaging his legs and arms while listening to the music that they had at their wedding. She just finished his legs, when the door opened.
She turned to see it was agent Murphy "Sorry to tell you June but you've been called tomorrow to testify" She turned and carried on with what she was doing to Jim not saying a word. He walked out, closing the door.
The next morning June showed up to Jim's room early and in her uniform. She stays with him for an hour before giving him a kiss on his lips. "I'm not looking forward to today but I'm going to help put her away Jim, for what she has done to us and others over the past few months. I wish you were awake and with me today. Some of the guys from your team and navy are going to be there to support me cause the next few days are going to be hell. I'll be back tonight, I love you" she gives him a kiss before walking out of his room.
When she walked outside the hospital the agent who picked her up at home drove her to the court house. When she arrived she saw both SAS and navy there in their uniforms line up on each side of the steps. The media was there also knowing that it would be the first time they and the country would get to see one of the two heros in person.
A fed open the door and June got out of the car and put her hat on. She took a deep breath then stepped forward to the steps then stopped and looked up to see where SAS and the navy was. She walked up the steps as they all stood at attention and saluted June which she did in return till she stopped at the top of the steps to see admiral of the fleet and general west from the SAS standing there saluting her. When their arms are lowed he shook her hand
"We are here for you chief petty officer Roff"
"thank you sir"
"SAS included"
"thank you sir"
"shall we" they turn around and walk inside with June between them.
When they reached the courtroom they stood outside and waited for a minute when the double doors opened. They walked inside and saw a number of people there. They walked up till so far then the admiral and general sat down while June took four steps forward then stopped.
She turns to Ms Cruise and looks at her then turns and steps forward and walks to where the chair is where she put her hat down. Once she was swan in she sat down and the beginning of her testimony began. She spent the whole day going over every thing that happened for the first month.
Both lawyers asked her questions which she was able to answer them. By the end of the day she was tired. The agent took her back to the hospital for an hour then took her home where she got changed and crawled into bed and slept. It was the same thing over the next few days.
On Friday morning when a fed went to pick her up, he noticed she didn't come outside. So he went up to her door and knocked on it, there was no reply, he turned around and gave the ones who watched her house an alert signal. They got out of there car and ran over to the front door
"something wrong, she not answering the door"
they looked around and had no choice but to call it in and break a window to get in. Once one of the men got in, he let the others in. they got their guns out and looked around the bottom of the house then two of them went up stairs just as they heard slamming of doors. The one down stairs went and open the front door
"what happened?"
"We don't know Barry and Ross up stairs now looking for her"
Up stairs the two men check each room till one of them open the master bedroom door, and saw where June is "Ross call for an ambulance," he yell out then ran over and crouched on the ground to check her pulse when he heard running footsteps
"what happened" Murphy asked
"Looks like she collapsed must of been last night, she is still in her uniform"
"Is she ok"
"Her pulse is weak" Murphy got his phone out and contacted NAVCOM when they could hear the ambulance showing up.
Mike and Kate was enjoying their sleep in when Mike phone rings "please no crash sail" Kate said as Mike pick up the phone to answer it
"Mike flynn hello… patch him through"
"who is it"
"Greg murphy"
"what" Kate was awake by then and looking at him
"Greg why are you calling me… what" he said in shocked "Is she ok… sure we are on our way" then he hung up
"Mike" she look at him
"MacGyver collapsed at home, she was rushed into hospital"
"oh no" they got up and dressed. Kate called Swain while running out the door behind Mike.
At the hospital it was quiet till a nurse who just hung up the phone, turn to the doctor "sir we got incoming it June roff sir, she found collapsed at home this morning"
"Ok people let's hope the media doesn't get a whiff of this, it the last thing she needs"
When the ambulance arrived they staff work around June removing her uniform getting an IV line in her and hook her up to a heart monitor. One thing that the doctor noticed was how much weight she has lost and knows that she has been in court all week. The staff work around her. He notices how dehydrated she is so he starts rehydrating her.
Then he ordered lab tests to find out if there was anything else wrong but he wanted to be sure. Her heat rate was over the place, like she was slowly killing herself. When everything was done for June. all the doctor could do is wait for the blood work to return. He went to see agent murphy.
"How is she"
"she is a mess, she is dehydrated and underweight, has she been eating at all."
"I don't know. I saw her have a drink at lunchtime yesterday but she didn't touch her lunch."
"Ok thanks."
"doctor the results" she passes him a clipboard. He looked at the result
"Excuse me" then he returned back to June bed where he gave out the order of things he needed.
The feds wondering what was going on. They notice he was injecting something in her Iv line four times, then they roll her over and inject her back side three times then roll her on to her back. When Mike and Kate arrived they walk quickly over to where Gregg is
"what happened?"
"the doctor with her now, she dehydrated and underweight"
"what" mike said in shocked
"We should stay with her. I had no idea how bad she was" Kate said
"We all fail her Kate, we all did, we all should be looking after her, but we haven't this time"
"I know, she has been there for us and we haven't been there for her when she needs us the most"
