We don't need to go that far

Let's hold on to where we are

If it's real we'll make it through

Cause all I need is you

-The Click Five "All I Need Is You"

Closing her eyes, Elizabeth just let herself feel the kiss. Nathan's kisses were different than Jack's. They were more cautious and slow. Jack's kisses, though full of passions, always seemed rushed.

She couldn't say which she liked best. Instead, she just enjoyed the moment.

"Goodnight, Elizabeth," Nathan said softly, when he broke away.

"Goodnight," she whispered back.

Elizabeth stood in the doorway watching as Nathan walked up the little row of house into the darkness. How she longed for the time when he wouldn't have to leave. When they could say goodnight but stay under the same roof.

Of course, Nathan had to get around to asking her to marry him first. Thinking about how long it had taken him to ask her out, Elizabeth knew she shouldn't hold her breath. It could be quite some time before Nathan got around to asking her that special question.

She knew it would be wrong to rush him. Nathan did things deliberately. He needed to think things through. Needed to know that what he was doing was for the best for all involved. She knew that he loved her. That was never in doubt. Nor did she doubt that eventually he would get around to asking the question.

It just might be a year from now or longer.

Elizabeth hoped it would be sooner. Planned on subtly nudge him into moving faster. In the end though, Nathan would ask when he was ready to.

Perhaps, that knowledge was what was important. Knowing that she loved him and was loved in return. Knowing that eventually they would share all aspects of their lives together. She just needed to be patient.

~Too bad Nathan seems to have most of the patience in this relationship,~ Elizabeth thought with a smile as the darkness finally enveloped Nathan. With nothing else to watch, she stepped back and closed the door.

It was nice knowing that she was loved once again.
