Binding the Galaxy Together

Chapter 8 – Path Unclear

Out in the city, the white haired pro hero kept hopping from roof to roof looking for the next fight to fill her adrenaline. So far today, aside from this morning with the armored truck robbery, it was rather boring. Then again it was a Saturday afternoon. Not many villains are stupid enough to try anything big on a Saturday at all. Mirko didn't care about that. She was just rushing around to try and fill her head with some other emotions to try and push out the ones she was currently feeling.

Ever since she hung up on Ryukyu earlier, the story the dragoon hero told her about their new alien acquaintance filled her with a lot of uncertainty. There was still a LOT of unanswered questions now regarding this girl. Some of them were even bigger than before. Never mind the fact that she's an alien. Never mind the fact that apparently humans exist on more planets other than this one. But apparently there was a whole freaking war going on the next galaxy or two over and this girl fought in it. A full scale war. No. Not even that. Apparently what Earth considers full scale is nothing compared to the shit this girl took part in. Multiple planets were involved in this war. How many? Who the hell knows? What mattered most to the rabbit hero was the mental state of this girl. Right now Mirko could only guess what a swirl of emotions had to be going on in her head right now. Only fourteen years old and she spent the last two years going from world to world fighting and…taking lives. Mirko was in no way the teaching type. She wasn't good with kids. That's why she only very rarely took on interns or work study students. Most of the time they only slow her down and she was not at all patient enough to keep pace with them to teach. But even she knew that taking a kid with no real combat experience into a warzone with multiple guns pointed at you was not a good idea! A blind kid on top of that! Even if she's been taught how to see with some mystical magic power bullcrap that no one on Earth has ever heard of, that doesn't mean you just throw her into a fight of that caliber without any real experience in using it!

It made Mirko's blood boil at the thought. As interesting as these Jedi people sounded, the first impression of how they operated did not sit well with her at all. Taking kids away from their families alone didn't sound OK. But according to Camilla it was with the consent of the parents. So she couldn't argue much about that one. Teaching them how to use their powers and fight if necessary? That was U.A. High in a nutshell. But throwing her into a war when she just barely passed the test to be taken on by a master? There was something very wrong there. She just couldn't get it out of her head. She saw Camilla earlier deflect gunshots and subdue a villain but that was child's play. What got her worried was that this girl had been used to being shot at and didn't even flinch when she realized the villain was armed.

Mirko had seen a few veteran military men and women in her time as a pro hero and even before that. They always talked about war stories and how some of the shit they had seen scarred them. Had Camilla seen anything like that? Or done anything as such? Probably. Or maybe she's done something even worse than all of that. And it sickened the rabbit hero. She almost wished that ship of hers wasn't destroyed so she could go back to this galaxy and tear the Jedi a new one herself.

*ZZZZZT! ZZZZZT!*

The vibrating of her phone however stopped that train of thought temporarily as she planted her feet into the next rooftop she jumped to. Catching her breath, Mirko slipped a hand to her phone and brought it out. A text message from Ryukyu was what popped onto the screen.

"Come back to my agency when you can. Nejire and I may have an idea concerning Camilla. Sending the same message to Tsukauchi."

An idea? That's it? Well so far that was better than no direction at all. Shrugging and now curious to hear this idea, Mirko looked around to see what part of the city she was in and how far away she was before she responded.

"Be there in fifteen."

With that, she began to run the opposite direction and hopped off again, this time in the direction of her friend's building. A couple blocks away, Detective Tsukauchi was in the break room of his precinct sipping on a cup of coffee as he read the text message on his phone from Ryukyu.

"An idea?" He quietly wondered aloud.

Being part of the inner circle for the number one hero had made Tsukauchi quite used to keeping big life altering secrets. After hearing about All Might's quirk, and the dangers that came with that quirk, the detective was pretty sure he had heard everything when it came to superpowers and how they work. Then Camilla had to crash her last night and reveal to Ryukyu about this Force.

From the moment Ryukyu brought that up, that's the part of the story his mind couldn't quite wrap around. A quirkless kid had an amazing power that let her perform a multitude of abilities. And from the sounds of it, not even she knows just how much she can do. It made him quite uneasy and part of him, a very small part couldn't help but see the similarities between this girl's Force and the quirk known as All For One. Sure Camilla may not steal powers but the idea of so many different abilities being inside one body is a scary thought. There were of course many other thoughts that came with this power fear. Like how many other species in her galaxy had power like this? What other powers that weren't the force existed if they weren't quirks? The thought made the poor detective's head ache to the point where he felt like just plain water was needed instead of a coffee….and maybe a nice swig of whiskey later.

Maybe he was getting too ahead of himself. Granted her powers sounded a bit frightening to an outsider but he didn't really know Camilla as a person yet. Hell none of them did. Tossing the empty Styrofoam cup away and grabbing a bottle of water out of the mini fridge, he pocketed it in his trench coat and put his hat back on before heading out.

A matter of minutes later, he was getting out of his parked car in front of Ryukyu's building. Once he was inside he got in the elevator and headed up to floor number three where Ryukyu's office was. There was a small table with two couches on both sides. Ryukyu and Nejire were on one side and Mirko shared the other couch with Camilla. R3 was also there at the head of the table rotating his head back and forth between the two sides. On the table was a pitcher of water with four glasses filled with various amounts and a fifth one that was empty.

"Ah there you are detective." Ryukyu greeted Tsukauchi.

She then reached over and poured some water into the empty glass inviting him to join them. He did so while taking off his hat and placing it next to the glass before sitting down at the opposite end of the table across from R3.

"Alright we're all here. Now what's this idea?" Mirko was ready to get to business.

"Right." Ryukyu nodded to her friend and took a sip of her water. "Nejire actually came up with this idea."

And so both the dragoon hero and her powerful intern began to explain their idea to the three others there with them. It didn't take very long seeing as how there wasn't much at the moment to go over. When they were done, Camilla was looking more confused than excited.

"Let me see if I have this straight."

She looked directly to Nejire.

"You want me to go to school with you."

"Uh-huh!"

Nejire started nodding her head excitedly.

"Where you learn how to be a superhero?"

"Yup!"

"And to do that, I have to pass some sort of trial to get accepted?"

"That's correct." Ryukyu answered that time. "U.A. High is the most prestigious hero school in this country. And given your experience, I truly believe you and the hero course would be a perfect match."

While Camilla was rubbing her chin in thought to this idea, Mirko and Tsukauchi were having different reactions. Both of them were quite surprised this was the idea that Ryukyu and Nejire came up with.

"Uuuuuhhhh…Ryuko are you sure that's a good idea?" Mirko sounded very unsure.

"Why wouldn't it be?" The number nine hero responded. "Do you not think she would thrive at U.A.?"

"Oh hell no I don't think that at all!" Mirko shook her head. "Quite the opposite. I'm sure she would do better than anyone else in her class. That's exactly the problem. With that power of hers she kinda stands out."

"Mirko is right." Tsukauchi agreed. "From what we saw earlier this morning, Camilla is capable of quite a bit with her Force power. And if there's more than that she can do, then it could be quite difficult to write that off as just a quirk. Plus there are her swords. I don't know if those could be considered support items."

"I bet they could be." Nejire spoke now. "Tons of students have a few weapons of their own to compliment their quirks and fighting style. I know because I watched the other two sports festivals I wasn't part of. There were a few kids like that. I bet with the right paperwork we can get her lightsabers approved."

"Uuuuuummmmmm…."

The young Jedi hummed a bit to get everyone's attention. It worked as everyone pointed their eyes at here wondering what it was she wanted to say.

"Yes, Camilla?" Ryukyu urged her to go on.

"Thank you." She cleared her throat a bit. "I appreciate what you're trying to do for me. Truly I do. But before I give what I think about all of this I just need to know a few things."

"Of course. Like what?" Nejire asked eager to answer.

Nodding her head, Camilla held up her hand as she began to list her questions.

"Where am I? How are all of you able to do so many different things? What are quirks? And just what the hell is up with this place? If you're gonna try and put me into a school, just one day after I crash here, then you gotta give me some information about this planet's society works. I have been so many different levels of confused on top of processing mourning and moving on and I think what may evolve into some nightmares down the line. So…I told you about my world and now it's your turn. Tell me about where I landed."

As she went on with her list, the stranded Jedi student sounded a little desperate by the time she finished her little rant. Absolutely all of that was fair enough to the present company. Ryukyu and Nejire both felt a little silly. They jumped the gun because both of them felt good about the idea. They forgot to consider that Camilla had been through a lot in the past twenty four hours let alone the past two years of her life as a soldier. Before anything, they needed to tell her just where it was she landed, what the place was like, and how it got to the point of their current super society.

"I guess it's our turn to tell a story." Ryukyu began before taking a sip of her water.

"Well R3 and I don't have anywhere to be." Camilla replied as she used the Force to pour some water from the pitcher into her own glass.

Everyone else adjusted themselves in their seats knowing a hefty explanation was coming. Ryukyu was the one to start it.

"Quite some time ago, humans on this planet were all powerless. Not a single human out of eight billion people had any supernatural ability. All of that changed with one birth."

Mirko, Nejire, and Tsukauchi all nodded having heard this story plenty of times before. Camilla found herself interested and waited for the dragoon hero to go on.

"No historian or scientist to this day knows just how or why it happened. But nearly three hundred years ago, a baby in another country called China, was born with light radiating off of him like he was a living light bulb. From there on, more and more children were born with each of them possessing some uncanny ability. Some could stretch like they were rubber, others could generate ice or fire, and the list just went on and on. As time went on, the shock and fear over these powers died out while the population of super-humans only grew to the point where we are at now. Right now eighty percent of Earth's population each posses a power of their very own. Those powers are what we simply call, quirks."

OK. So that was one mystery solved. She had heard the word "quirk" so much today she wasn't yet sure what to think it was. It was just what they called their powers. And eighty percent?! That was…wow. That explained so much for the young Jedi. The second she woke up back at the hospital she could feel a huge of abundance of Force energy all around her and she had no clue where it was all coming from. That had to be it. Their quirks were somehow amplifying the Force. She had absolutely no idea how that was even possible but Camilla figured that would be a question to get answered later. Here in this office, she had plenty she wanted answered now.

"Alright so…most of you have a unique superpower. So all of you are heroes?" She wondered.

"Nah. It doesn't work that way." Mirko took a turn here. "See because people lost their shit when quirks started appearing, a lot of political stuff had to happen to make sure these powers didn't hurt anyone. Over time these laws changed to adapt with the times but as it stands now, only registered and licensed heroes or heroes in training are allowed to use their quirks to save others. With a few special exceptions like Tsukauchi here."

"It's not out of exclusivity." Tsukauchi added on. "With so many people with a wide variety of powers, just allowing them to be used all the time without restrictions would be a disaster waiting to happen. All of these quirks vary in power and application. Take mine for example. My quirk is a simple one. It allows me to detect when someone is lying or not. It's perfect for a police officer like me so I have special permission to use mine in my work. Then you have other powers like the three heroes here. Ryukyu's ability allows her to transform into a full scale dragon and give her the strength of one. Mirko's quirk allows her to do anything a rabbit can. It gives her extraordinary strength in her legs and a very acute sense of smell and hearing. And Miss Nejire here can….um….sorry but what is your quirk again?"

That last question went in Nejire's direction. A wide smile on her face, the high school student answered him.

"My quirk is called Wave Motion! It allows me to transform my own life force into super strong blasts of energy! They always come out of me in spirals though."

Nodding, Tsukauchi went back to explaining to Camilla.

"See? We can go from something simple like mine to something like that. And there are even stronger quirks out there that we both know and probably don't know about. The strongest hero I know has strength that if not controlled, could level an entire city block with a single punch. So we need regulations on powers like this. It's to keep people as safe as possible."

While Camilla sat there listening, she did her best to take in everything being told to her. On the one hand it made sense. With so many people here possessing a supernatural power of their own, there being laws to keep improper use of those powers down was a good idea. However, one thing still bugged her.

"What if they can help?" She wondered. "You tried to arrest me earlier today just for stopping that guy from killing another person. Does that mean stepping in to help when you clearly know you can is frowned upon here? Or what if you're backed into a corner and self defense is necessary?"

The four Earth residents looked at each other nervously. They were afraid this subject would come up and her opinions on it would be as they clearly were.

"Yes. There are circumstances in which using your quirk in an emergency is acceptable. Self defense like you said is one of them. However what you did today wasn't. Situations like that with villains holding a hostage are best left to the pros." Tsukauchi explained hoping she would understand.

"But the pros that were there weren't doing anything."

That little line caused Nejire, Mirko, and Ryukyu to look at her with mixed feelings that she could easily sense. Nejire and Ryukyu felt a little upset because they knew she was right. Mirko was more frustrated but she couldn't deny it either. All the three of them did was stand there and look at the guy while he held a gun to the hostage's head. None of their powers were of much use in a situation like that. But Camilla's was and she knew it.

"If I hadn't been there, that lady would be dead right now. So are you going to tell me saving her life wasn't acceptable, detective?"

Tsukauchi had no immediate answer for the blind girl. Inside his head he was stumbling. He had explained this so many times to kids her age who thought they were doing the right thing stepping into the affairs of a pro hero but all of them knew or had some idea how things worked. But Camilla didn't. She had been raised far far away and was apparently taught to step in to end conflict wherever she went. So of course there was going to be resistance in getting her to accept the way things work here. His thoughts were shared by the three present heroines in the room with him.

"Look, we're not saying it's a perfect system. Trust me. We know it's not." Mirko spoke up. "It's just the best we can do right now. The fact of the matter is a lot of these quirks can do a lot of damage if they just go unchecked. So keeping free usage of them down to the professional heroes is the best way to keep that damage to a minimum."

"And for what it's worth, everyone here knows what you did was right. I'm sure the woman you saved would thank you if she ever got the chance to. You just can't be making a habit of it." Ryukyu added.

"That's why we think you going to U.A. would be a great idea!" Nejire now excitedly said.

And Mirko agreed with her.

"Honestly I think it's your best shot, kid. You said the Jedi in your galaxy were keepers of the peace, right? Well training to be a pro hero and getting licensed is the best way to do it on Earth. But there's still a small problem."

Ryukyu and Nejire now joined Camilla to gaze at the rabbit hero.

"I'm sure she'd nail the practical part of the entrance exam. But she just said herself that she's still blind to a lot of things. So how is she supposed to do the written part?"

"….Eh?"

It felt like a record scratching in Nejire's head. She had been so excited about the prospect of having Camilla as a classmate she had forgotten exactly what she had to do to get into the school in the first place. She looked back and took a good look at the milky white eyes of the Jedi Padawan and remembered she had a handicap that didn't allow her to read or even write. Worse than that, even if she wasn't blind, she was still an alien. She didn't know how to read Japanese.

Nejire rubbed a finger to her chin deep in thought. There had to be a way for Camilla to take the test. There just had to be.

"I can see if I can talk to Principal Nezu. Maybe there have been one or two blind people who tried out before."

"Or you can get her started on Braille."

That suggestion came from Tsukauchi. Once the word Braille was said, the three heroes at the table all remembered that was even a thing.

"Braille?" Camilla repeated the word not knowing what Tsukauchi was talking about.

"That's right." He answered her. "It's a language based on touch that we developed for vision impaired people who can't read written words."

The Padawan was surprised. With how far behind this world was in terms of technology compared to her galaxy, a language for blind people came as a welcome reveal. However that was only just another thing to be piled on with everything else that had been thrown her way today.

Then it hit her just how much she was having to process here and just how much information and story about this world was being forced into her brain. Her mind right now was already a blender of different emotions and facts and who knows how much else?

"I was in a war yesterday."

Those six words caused the tone of the room to dim down to a very dark level. The conversation had just been derailed.

"No less than 24 hours ago I was running for my life. And now…I'm here. With you and these…heroes and villains. And this society I don't understand. I've lost my master, my people, my whole galaxy. It's all so much to take in. I told R3 that I wouldn't give up being a Jedi just because I'm alone here but…I don't know. Maybe I'm trying to move too fast again. A bad habit of mine I'm afraid."

She rubbed a hand over her forehead not noticing R3 was looking right at her.

"I greatly appreciate what all of you have done for me so far. Truly I do. But I've still only just met all of you and I have no idea what I'm even doing now. Maybe I can go to this school and try to be what you all are but….I just don't know. I don't know anything and I'm still so scared even though I know I shouldn't be. It's a path to the dark side."

That last line caused a bit of concern to grow in the others listening to her. But they put that aside as they watched Camilla stand up.

"Thank you. Just hearing that all of you want to help me so much means a lot to me. But I don't think I'm ready to give you an answer about any of it yet. I need time to think. And I don't know how long it will be before I give you anything."

The four of them didn't answer her right away because they too were just realizing just how fast they were all trying to go with this. It wasn't just Ryukyu and Nejire this time. Now both of them plus Mirko and Tsukauchi both felt that they were pressuring Camilla a bit too much now with explaining how their world worked and why she should go to school. In their want to instill these same values into her, they felt stupid for forgetting that she had just landed here. Tsukauchi and Mirko both still wanted to find out what she could do but they now realized they had to do that on her time on her discretion. Not theirs. If anything today, Camilla proved herself to be trustworthy and a good person at heart. So they felt that they didn't need to worry about her just bailing on them again. These four were the only people that knew her situation. It made sense for her to stay with them for as long as she could.

Back to the matter at hand, Tsukauchi was the one to break the brief silence.

"I'm sorry, Miss Sharro." He gently said. "None of us had any intention to pressure you. We know throwing you into a new life after you just escaped so much is unfair."

"And we're not asking you for an answer right away." Ryukyu agreed. "Like I said before, you can stay here for as long as you want. You can take as much time as you need to think things over."

The blind Padawan nodded in the direction of the dragoon hero with the faintest hint of a smile on her lips.

"Thank you, Miss Ryukyu." She softly murmured. "If you'll excuse me, I think I'll return to my room now and do just that. I've gotten enough training in for myself today anyway."

Without another word, she began to walk away with R3 popping out his third leg and rolling behind her. The three heroes and the detective were now left alone once they heard the elevator door close. The conversation did not pan out the way they were hoping it would. Nejire was hoping for Camilla to be excited to join up at a school for kids like her who wanted to do some good in the world. Ryukyu and Mirko were both hoping for her to understand the rules of this world without there being much questioning about it. And Tsukauchi was waiting for a chance to ask the girl about her Force abilities and how much she could do. In the end, none of them got what they wanted. All they did was remind the girl just how alone she was even though she found herself on a planet with more humans on it.

They needed to go about this in a different way. They weren't gonna drop the idea of her going to U.A. but they needed to allow Camilla more time to process things. However they knew time waited for no one and the entrance exam would be here before they knew it. They needed to figure out a way to help her that wasn't just explaining to her how things worked and why she should follow the rules. They needed to get her brain sorted out first. Maybe getting her into therapy wouldn't be a bad idea.

Regardless of how the conversation turned out, Mirko and Tsukauchi stood up and told Ryukyu they still had every intention to help Camilla out in whatever way she needed. Then they took their leave making Ryukyu and Nejire the only ones in the office. With their days work done the two of them also retired and changed out of their hero costumes for the day. They didn't see Camilla come out of her room for the rest of the day and decided it would be best to not disturb her. They did however leave a tray of food outside her door when it came time to eat dinner. Nejire smiled when she came back and saw the tray had been cleared of its contents. After that, the night came and soon Nejire, Ryukyu, and Camilla were asleep in their respective rooms of the building.

In the room of the Padawan, the quiet lasted for hours. R3 was in standby mode at the foot of Camilla's bed while she slept. His sensors were constantly active checking for any sign of motion or sound that wasn't supposed to be there. Spending years with her had gotten the droid used to her sleeping methods and knew what to expect and what not to expect. So for hours he remained in lower power mode until he sensed movement from the floor near the bed. Turning back on all the way, he turned his dome shaped head and saw Camilla awake sitting at the edge of the bed and rubbing a hand over her face.

The young Jedi did not sleep well that night. She wasn't even sure what time it was now thanks to her being unable to see the time on the clock. She didn't have any dreams but with what was weighing on her mind, sleep didn't come to her easy. And waking up knowing it was all still there didn't make the process go any easier. Her head ached with all she had to deal with now. Slowly her hand ran down her face until it stopped at her neck feeling a small chain wrapped around it. She followed it down to her chest where she felt the pendant of a familiar symbol in her fingertips. Feeling it only made her feel worse as she thought about the person who gave it to her.

"…Cayden…"

Now with her brother on her mind, meditation she felt wasn't going to help here at this moment. Maybe a walk by herself would.

"R3? What time is it?" She asked quietly.

The droid answered her back. It was early morning and the sun of this planet hadn't even begun to rise yet.

"Well then, so begins day two on this world."

She stood up from her bed and walked over to her clothes that were sorted on the table. After dressing back up in her Jedi attire and putting her belt and boots on, she grabbed her cloak and only her own lightsaber as she headed for the door of her room. As she opened it, R3 rang out again beeping at her to stop.

"Relax will ya? And quiet down. I don't need you waking anyone else."

The series of chirps that rang out next sounded very concerned to Camilla.

"I'm just going for a walk. You stay here. If anyone wants to find me they can call me on this."

She reached into her belt and pulled out her small oval shaped speaker with the small antenna. That didn't seem to go over well with R3 however as he beeped at her annoyed.

"Yes it is so fine! And you have the other one. Master Morlev stored it inside you in case we needed a spare."

The front yellow shaped arm at the top of R3's torso unfolded from his chest and bent down to reach inside one of his own side compartments. When he did, he felt around and pulled out an identical speaker to the one Camilla had in her hand. Satisfied, Camilla clipped her lightsaber to her belt and closed the door.

"I'll be on channel two."

R3 tried one more time to tell her to stay in his droid language but the Padawan wasn't going to listen. The door was closed and the droid was left alone again in the room borrowed from the dragoon hero. All he could do now was stand there and think to himself aloud in more beeping and chirping.

"Why couldn't I have been destroyed in a space battle with some clones or something?"

Quietly, Camilla opted to take the traditional way out of the building this time. Going down the elevator, and a short series of steps led her to the front door. She pushed it. The door didn't budge. Of course. People lived here so it had to be locked of course. Closing her eyes on instinct, Camilla held out her right hand in front of her and let a slow concentrated sight pass through her teeth. Slowly, her surroundings became a lot clearer. The door in front of her most of all as she found the locks. Twisting her hand, the sound of multiple latches could be heard being undone. When the last one clocked, the Jedi tried pushing the door again. This time it opened and the cool air of a spring morning blew into her face. Once she was on the other side of the door and it was closed, Camilla raised her hand again and called on the Force to lock the doors from the outside. After that, she threw the hood of her cloak over her head and began to walk.

The Force was very helpful to her in this situation. She could make out the fronts of the buildings, the street she was walking down, and even the small amount of cars that were passing her by. Some people out for early morning runs passed her in their exercise, and even a few pro heroes she could sense nearby. No one really paid Camilla any mind. They thought her dress sense was weird but they also figured maybe she was a sidekick of a pro. They could tell she wasn't old enough to be a pro herself yet. Blind as she may be her face was still young.

As she kept walking, Camilla's thoughts played back the events of yesterday afternoon in that office. The idea overall wasn't a bad one. And a lot of the reasoning for it made as much sense to her as it probably did to the rest of them. U.A. High Scholl sounded like an amazing place from Nejire's perspective. A place where kids like her train to use their powers together to serve the people and the greater good? It sounded too good to be true. She had found a place almost exactly like what she had been used to with the Jedi. Then again, not every memory with them was a happy one. She grimaced remembering how many times she was teased or written off as some novelty because of her eyes. What if the teachers and kids at this school were like that? She'd have to prove herself all over again.

That wasn't the biggest problem though. She was certain proving herself here wouldn't be a problem. The problem was…well herself. For the past two years she had been in a freaking war. Not just a battle with a bad guy over some money or a hostage situation with a ransom. War. It's a horrible plague that inflicts every planet and this one was surely no different. But the most inflicted are the people who fight in it. The Jedi always claimed to be keepers of peace in the galaxy but the level they were fighting to keep it, some of the things she had to do…the people she ended…was she really worthy of becoming a hero after doing something like that? And what if those feelings overpower her? From what Nejire said some of this hero training is against other students. What if she snapped on one of them there in a bad war flashback or something?!

"Rrrrrgh! Dammit brain! Stop it!"

*SMACK!*

Camilla slapped herself across her face to try and derail the runaway train that was her current thought process.

"…..ooowww…."

Maybe a little too hard she did. As she rubbed her cheek, the young Jedi tried to straighten out her thoughts into something more organized. In all honesty, the idea of her becoming a hero wasn't at all a bad one. In fact she agreed a lot of the training Nejire told her about sounded a lot like nothing she wasn't already used to learning on Coruscant. The Jedi Council now was just swapped with this Hero Public Safety Commission. At first glance she didn't like the fact that people were restricted to using their power to help someone or themselves unless in extreme circumstances or if you were licensed. It just didn't sit well with her. If eighty percent of the people have a quirk and they could help, why couldn't they just be good Samaritans for the sake of doing what's right?

That's what the Jedi were all about. Stepping in when necessary to end a conflict, regardless of if anyone asked or not. That's what Camilla was certain made them so well known throughout the galaxy. Not their power, not their fierceness, their kindness towards life. That's what she wanted to be. Someone who protected people and showed them kindness when they needed it, just like her master did for her and her brother. Going to U.A. did seem like her only chance to do that now like Mirko had said but she was still unsure. The thought of others looking down on her entered her brain again as she kept walking and a smell entered her nose.

A very bad smell.

Putting a hand over her mouth and nose, Camilla had wondered where she had wandered to. She could hear the sound of waves crashing so she was near an ocean but what was bringing in that horrible odor? Was that just how oceans smelled here on Earth? She reached out with the Force again to try and get a guess on what was in front of her. She could see a staircase leading down to what she assumed was a beach but then she picked up the outline of….too many things to register. It felt like thousands if not millions of small things were cluttered up into mountains that were littering this beach. That had to be what was causing this smell. Was this section of this beach labeled off as a trash dump?

The staircase was clear and unblocked so she took a stroll down it until her boots stepped on the uneven surface of the sand. She approached the source of the horrible stench one step at a time and continuously thanked the Jedi for making these cloaks so thick. She walked a little but more inwards and down a sort of path two different walls of trash made. Her curiosity about this place made her confused too. Ryukyu and Nejire had said a lot of this place was beautiful. So what was up with this beach being used as a dump? Was it just some negligence or an accident? Or did she completely miss a "Keep Out" sign back there at the entrance to the beach? She had done that once or twice by accident. It wasn't her fault!

The smell however was getting worse so she decided to turn and head back. Maybe telling Mirko or someone about it will get them out here to clean it up.

"Hurry, young Midoriya! I want to see a good dent in the progress today!"

"I'll do my best, sir!"

Camilla's head turned so fast in the direction of those voices a small crack could be heard in her neck. Panicking and acting on reflex, she called on the Force and jumped up to the top of the walls of garbage and landed on one. She scrambled to find some good foot holds and hand holds. She did but they were not stable in the slightest. She hoped whoever was there didn't stay too long.

Back down on the sand, another young teen had come up the path and turned the corner. He wiped a forearm to his brow to clear the sweat underneath his mess of green hair. Panting a bit, he looked around for a decently sized piece of trash he could haul out from the load and start to clean up.

"Let's see…" He began to mumble to himself. "Maybe I could take a few more tires? No I need to try something heavier. That sink over there looks doable. Yeah maybe I should try that. Then I could come back for those broken shelves and the maybe a few of those television sets. This are of the beach is where I started but I really should spread myself out more to see more of it and see what I'll have in store for myself."

As the boy continued to mumble, he was only bumped out of his distraction when a soda can fell from above and landed on his head. He knelt down, and picked it up before looking around for where it came from.

"Hello?"

*CRASH!*

The poor boy nearly jumped out of his skin and heard a few more metal pieces of junk fall and clatter behind him. He turned around and again saw no one save for the bits of trash that made the sound.

"Uhhh…All Might?"

"Wuh-waaaaaaaah!"

"Huh?"

*CRASH! THUNK!*

Before he could register what was happening, the green haired boy felt a heavy object fall and press him down quite harshly into the sandy ground. Some more trash could be heard clanging against each other around him thankfully not hitting him. As he groaned in a dazed state, he tried to get his hands into where his stomach was to move the object off him, whatever it was. One touch and he felt something not metal at all. In fact it felt rather….soft and leathery.

"Umm…excuse me?"

Did that thing that just fell on him talk? Opening his eyes, he nervously looked down his body to see his hand was currently clasped over the eyes of a girl about his age with ruby red colored hair.

"Why are you grabbing my face?"
