Binding the Galaxy Together

Chapter 10 – First Steps

Another Monday comes around thus another collective groan can be heard from every working person and school student in the world. Though he loved his job, Detective Tsukauchi was one of them whenever this particular day of the week came around. Not this one however. Today he had off to do whatever he pleased. No police work unless it was an emergency. Just him and all the time to do whatever he wanted. Maybe he could call All Might and have lunch with him or something. Catch up. It had been a while since the last time they spoke. It would be a nice change of pace from the last few days at work. An alien he now had to keep under wraps along with knowledge of a whole other galaxy. Not what he expected to happen during his weekend but luckily thanks to Ryukyu and Mirko, as well as the former's intern Nejire, things were handled remarkably well. All they had to do now was wait and see if Camilla would give them an answer about going to U.A. to become a hero.

As he leaned up in his bed to stand up, a yawn groaned out of him and the taste of coffee sounded pretty good right about now. A nice hot cup of coffee with a bit of vanilla cream in it. Before he went to turn on the coffee maker, he grabbed his phone and unlocked it to see if there were any unread notifications. There were a few. Nothing emergency level or anything. That was a relief. A few unread emails, some app updates, and a text message from Ryukyu. Scrolling down to that last one, he opened it up and rubbed his eyes so he could be sure he was reading it correctly.

"Call me back when you get this. Camilla said yes."

He read it twice to make sure he saw that right. He did. So it was happening. The Jedi was gonna be a hero. That meant the process of getting her integrated into this world's system was about to begin, which also meant that Tsukauchi suddenly had plans for the day. First things first. He wanted that coffee and breakfast. Then he would make his way over to Ryukyu's agency to talk to the girl more about her power like he had been wanting to for days. Every time he tried to bring up her abilities with the Force, they always got sidetracked or interrupted. Now he was gonna make sure there was none of that. Just a straightforward talk and maybe a couple demonstrations of the full range of her power currently should be enough to form up a quirk registration form for her.

He hoped at least.

This was a quirkless alien with a power beyond standard comprehension. Any discovery of it by the wrong person could spell disaster. So if they were going to give her an identity and a cover, it had to be airtight so the truth could only be brought to light by those who were deemed worthy of knowing it. Being one of those selected few by All Might regarding One For All had made Tsukauchi quite familiar with the concept. Now adding in life from beyond the stars to his list of huge secrets felt like a lot to take in. But he could do it. He was certain of it. He would be even more certain as soon as that coffee being strained through the filter hit his lips in just a couple minutes.

While the scent of fresh made coffee started to fill Tsukauchi's kitchen, the scent of something else was filling Mirko's nose. And that was the smell of excitement. Every time she jumped through the air with her legs and felt the wind rush against her face, she could feel her adrenaline pumping, excited for the next fight she could find. Ever since her days as a student she couldn't get enough of it. The thrill of the fight, the satisfaction of kicking in some moron's teeth, it was what she lived for. Just her and the villains who were stupid enough to think they could get past her. What a life.

She was excited alright. The call she got earlier from Ryukyu got her stoked beyond all hell ever could. Camilla agreed to go to U.A. High. That meant there was gonna be nine months worth of training to cram down her throat. Getting her acclimated to the laws and systems of the world? Lame. Let the detective and maybe that intern do that. Mirko wanted more to be part of combat training and sparring. Just seeing a glimpse of this Force made her want to go up against the kid even more now. Finding out the limits of one's power was a good step into training it. Mirko was gonna go looking even if it meant hurting Camilla. But she was confident the alien could take it. If she could survive a war, she could live through a few kicks. In fact she planned on dulling a few of those out on her later. For now she was gonna keep patrolling. What better way to get warmed up for a fight against an alien than a few fights against some lowbrow villains?

Back at Ryukyu's agency, the dragoon hero herself was at her desk on the phone trying to see what pros were available to cover her patrols for the day. A few were thankfully in the area and agreed to cover her day. It was easier than she was expecting it to be. Being the number nine hero did have some perks. She hung up the phone and sat back in her chair as she thought about what was to come. So Camilla agreed. She was gonna be a Jedi and a hero in one. The idea in the long run had great potential. She could imagine her rising up to be a top hero one day and having her alien heritage revealed to a welcoming public. The first bridge between Earth and the stars. But such a path needs to be trekked very carefully. One wrong move and it could all go to hell. For now, it was best to focus on it one step at a time. She could help her as much as she could. Nejire could probably help too. Ryukyu chuckled as she imagined the reaction her intern would have once she read the text message she sent her this morning. She was going to call but she remembered she was probably still sleeping. Best to let her rest and get ready to go back to school.

One floor down, the Padawan herself was sitting on her bed cross legged again meditating on her decision hoping it was the best one. Out of the very few ones she had, it was indeed the best. Izuku helped make that clear for her. Being a hero in this world was the best chance she had to be any kind of Jedi now. So she would put herself through what every other kid on this path does and work hard for her goal. She wouldn't have to do it alone either. She would have R3 and her new support group with her as much as they could be.

As Camilla sat in thought, a string of beeping snapped her out of it causing her glazed over eyes to open up again. She turned to her droid as he spoke to her regarding this idea of hers and his apparent thoughts about it.

"Look I know it's not exactly like the temple on Corsucant. But come on you and I have been through a lot worse through the wars. We can make life here work."

R3 responded again beeping and chirping to his owner like a nest full of baby birds.

"Come on, R3. You're supposed to be the reasonable one here. The fighter is wrecked and long distance space travel is nowhere near the level as we're used to back home. So like it or not we're stuck here and we gotta make the best of it. Mirko was right. Me training to be a hero here on this world seems like our best bet."

What he said next caused Camilla to roll her eyes.

"Well the next time you see her don't say things like her ears are bigger than her brain, you big lug nut. Seriously what were you thinking saying that to her?"

"Well it's not like I can't fully disagree with R3's sentiment."

Both the blind Jedi learner and her droid turned their heads to the door when Ryukyu's voice could be heard in the room. Camilla couldn't tell, but the pro hero was wearing a smile on her face.

"Brash as Mirko is, she does have a good heart and is a wonderful hero. There's a reason she's as popular as she is."

"I trust you on that." Camilla's thoughts went back to the first day here on Earth.

She remembered when Mirko gave up chasing her to rescue that man from his vehicle. A short fuse the rabbit hero may be but her priorities are properly sorted. That much was clear.

"Did you need something, Miss Ryukyu?" She asked as she uncrossed her legs.

The dragoon hero nodded gently in response.

"I just wanted to let you know Tsukauchi is coming shortly to have a talk with you. We need to learn a few more things about you and the Force in order to get you properly registered."

"Registered? In what way?"

Ryukyu came in all the way again and decided to explain a few more small things before Tsukauchi arrived.

"Would I be correct in assuming you don't want people on this planet knowing about your true heritage? Or about the true nature of your power?"

Camilla nodded.

"Then one of the steps we need to take when putting you into Earth's government database is going through quirk registration. We're going to have to pass the Force off as a quirk, like the rest of us have. Normally the specifics about it don't have to be fully detailed. But if you're aiming for U.A., then I'd imagine the teachers, especially the principal, will want to know as much about is they can without knowing the whole truth."

The Padawan agreed with the logic. Divulge the abilities she can do with the Force but keep the fact that she's quirkless under wraps.

"Are you sure the detective will be able to do all this without getting in trouble with his superiors?"

Ryukyu nodded again, sure of the answer.

"Positive. Detective Tsukauchi is a trusted ally and a very respected policeman. I trust he will do what he must to get what you need."

The young Jedi bowed her head and let loose a soft sigh.

"I said it already, but I can't thank you enough for your help. Yours, Mirko's, the detective's and Miss Nejire's. You just discovered a few days ago life beyond your world is real and you just…took me in. Most people wouldn't do such a thing."

Ryukyu did agree with that statement.

"Well luckily for you, we're not most people." The number nine hero said gently. "Now come on. Tsukauchi will be here in ten minutes. I'll make us some tea."

Tea did sound good right about now. The Jedi stood up and R3 followed her out of the room and back up to the third floor to wait in Ryukyu's office. While Ryukyu made a pot of tea, Camilla sat on one of the couches and her droid stopped rolling when next to her. Ryukyu came back with a fresh pot and a couple teacups for the two of them. As they waited, the two conversed more over tea. When Camilla was poured a cup and took a sip, she reeled back at the taste in amazement.

"Oh wow. That's good." She commented. "What kind of tea is this?"

The dragoon hero smiled, pleased that Camilla liked it.

"It's called Longjing tea. Otherwise known as, Dragon Well tea."

"Well it's delicious."

She took another sip and set it down while the elevator dinged and the doors opened up. Tsukauchi came in with a cup of steaming coffee in his one hand and a pink box in the other. The fresh sweet scent that entered the room did not go unnoticed. Camilla perked up her head and followed it with great interest before locking on to Tsukauchi.

"What is that smell? I want to eat whatever is making it."

The detective gave a small chuckle then placed the box down on the coffee table in front of them.

"They're called donuts, Miss Sharro. They're what people here eat for breakfast some days when they want to treat themselves."

Tsukauchi opened up the box and Camilla leaned over to get a better look. So to speak at least. She reached out with the Force and could make out the shape of a dozen things inside the box that looked mostly round and ring shaped. She picked one out of the box and looked it over. She couldn't tell but Ryukyu and Tsukauchi watched her hold a pink frosted one with sprinkles on it. She sniffed it a bit more and took a bite, analyzing it like she did yesterday with the tamagoyaki All Might got for her. If he and Izuku were in that building right now, they could testify that the face Camilla was making right now with that donut, was the very same she made the morning prior. Her blind eyes were wide open and her cheeks turned pink as her tongue celebrated the sweet flavors it tasted.

"This is so tasty!"

She could hardly contain her joy in while she proceeded to devour the rest of the donut in record time while Ryukyu and Tsukauchi watched on and did their best to not burst out laughing at an alien going nuts over a pastry. It was just too funny. The mystical knight soldier had a sweet tooth. In ten seconds, that donut was crammed into the Jedi's mouth and swallowed with a few traces of sprinkles on her lips.

"Earth's food so far has been an upside to crashing here." She commented.

"Well I'm glad you're able to find the good side of things." Tsukauchi took a seat next to Ryukyu looking across the table to Camilla. "Choosing to go to U.A. only further cements that."

Camilla wiped a napkin over her mouth before going on.

"Right. That's why you're here. To get the process started."

"That's right. But do remember it's not gonna be so easy, Miss Sharro. I can get you an official ID so it looks like you were born here. But that's only going to be one step towards getting into U.A. High School. We're also gonna have to get you enrolled in Braille classes so you can read and write to some degree. It's not all gonna be physical training in that school. There's going to be written tests too. With any amount of luck, the principal and the teachers will be willing to make some adjustments for you. Then there's going to be your quirk registration. We'll have to pass off your Force as a normal quirk here and that means getting as much information on it as we possibly can. At least to the extent that you can use it. From there we should be able to form something."

The Padawan nodded the whole way through the speech agreeing with what Tsukauchi was saying.

"For now though, let's just take it one step at a time." The detective reached into his back pocket and took out a notepad. "Let's just start with the basics. Getting all your info down for standard ID reasons. First age and date of birth will be needed. You told Ryukyu a couple days ago you just turned fourteen years old. So we can work out a birthday from there."

As the conversation went on, miles away, a familiar blue haired second year skipped her way down the streets as she made her way to her first day of school back from her internship. She couldn't wait to hear stories from Togata and Amajiki about theirs. Amajiki was sure to have loads of good stuff to say about Fatgum. He always did have a story or two to tell ever since he began his time with him last year. That is, when he wasn't dumping on himself. She wished he would be more confident but maybe that kind light step nature of his would make him an even greater hero. At least she hoped. Either way, Suneater the hero in training was as strong as any pro as far as she and Togata were concerned.

Speaking of U.A.'s premiere exhibitionist, the fact that he got on board with Sir Nighteye of all people was beyond astounding. To get a chance to work with the same pro hero who was once the sidekick to All Might himself was a huge chance for any student. You'd have to be an idiot to say no to that. Thankfully Mirio Togata was no idiot. He was a jokester who always wore a smile into his fights just like the number one himself. Lemillion. The hero who would save a million people was destined to be a pro with a name like that. With his power and technique over his quirk, he had more than enough support to back that up.

Then Nejire got to thinking about what she and Ryukyu went through this past week. She couldn't wait to tell her two friends all about it. Well, certain things and a Jedi excluded of course. That reminded her, she had meant to call Ryukyu earlier and ask how Camilla was doing but never got around to it since she was in a hurry to leave. Now that she was walking she could use her phone. She fished it out of her backpack and opened it up to see she had missed a notification from her. She opened it up to read a text message that made a smile spread across her face that seemed like it go on forever.

"EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeYES!"

Nejire threw her arms up in the air more than excited about being future classmates with Camilla. She didn't even mind the weird looks that were being sent her way after that little outburst.

"Well someone sure is happy."

Turning around, Nejire smiled again when she saw her favorite blonde phaser walking up to her.

"Aaaah Togata! Going without seeing you and Amajiki for a week was killer!"

She reached him in record time and threw her arms around him. Mirio returned the hug with a smile of his own.

"Well I saw you. A few cell phone videos on the internet put you in a good light."

Nejire took a step back wondering what he meant. Figuring that out, Mirio took out his phone and opened a tab on his browser to show a news site with a video from a bystander's phone below the headline. It was a small article about the armored truck robbery. The thumbnail of the video had her standing next to-

Oh no.

Tapping play, the video opened up to the villain holding the bank teller hostage and firing the bullet. Then the bullet stopping and the camera panned over to see a hooded Camilla with her arm stretched out and moving the armored car. Then came the lightsaber blocking the bullets, though now it looked like they just broke into pieces with that camera zoomed in on her. It replayed the entire encounter and ended with Nejire blasting the villain and knocking her out could.

When the video ended, Mirio placed his phone back in his pocket.

"I wanted to call you but Sir kept me busy and I figured you were too. So how did it feel to take a villain down? And who was that person in the cloak with the weird green sword thing?"

Nejire took a breath in before answering.

"Just be cool, Nejire. Tell the truth. Just like Present Mic said, half truths are always more acceptable than pure lies."

"She was a lost girl actually. She comes from far away and ended up here by accident. She helped out but only because she didn't know it wasn't OK to just jump in. Miss Ryukyu is currently making sure she has a place to go."

Well that was certainly true. Nothing more was needed to be told than that. Luckily, it seemed to appease Mirio. Although inside he was indeed wondering just how isolated someone had to be to not know about the standard regulations for vigilantes.

"Well wherever she goes, I hope she considers being a hero. With that power and skill, she'd probably one of the best ever."

"Well you never know what the future holds, Togata. Now where's Amajiki?"

While Mirio began to explain that Tamaki was five minutes ahead of them, back at the agency of the number nine hero, Tsukauchi looked over the first page of his notepad to make sure he had everything right.

Name: Camilla Sharro

Age: 14

Date of Birth: March 12th

Hair color: Red

Eyes: Gray

Sex: Female

Quirk:

That last detail he would have to come back to until he got more into the Force, which he was about to right now. He flipped the page in his notepad over to show a blank one and readied his pen again.

"Alright, Camilla. Now for your power." Ryukyu murmured. "We already know the Force grants you basic psychic abilities like moving things with your mind. But tell us, how can you see? What can you see?"

She figured that explanation was gonna come. Honestly Camilla thought she would have to give it sooner but they never touched it until they needed to. Now was that time. She adjusted herself in her seat and finished her third donut before talking again.

"Alright. When I first brought to the Jedi temple and they discovered I was blind, I was taught to see through the Force. Now while this does allow me to do things for myself and not be assisted all the time, there are still limitations to what I can make out. Take this room for example. I can make out the table in front of me, the tea, and the donuts but only because I'm putting effort into sensing their shape. With the two of you in front of me though and all other living creatures, it's a lot easier for me. I can make out the shape of your bodies but beyond that I can't see much else about you. It's like I'm looking at a silhouette. I can see you but I can't make out any defining details like your eyes, noses, mouths, hair color, clothes, and other things like that."

Tsukauchi was writing like crazy.

"The way I'm able to tell you apart believe it or not is through your connection to the Force. Even if you're not a Jedi like I am, every living thing has a Force connection. The way I see that connection is by a little light inside your bodies that represents it. The stronger the connection, the brighter the light is. Ryukyu I can see your light is very bright and yours detective, while there is a dimmer one. And a different color."

Through Camilla's vision right now she could see Tsukauchi in a hunched position and next to him sat Ryukyu with a leg over the other. All she could see of their bodies was a black shadow shaped to their bodies with a light where their hearts are. Ryukyu's was a greenish yellow color and Tsukauchi's was a dimmer blue.

"So you can see our bodies but not our faces. But our connections to the Force, what could those be?" Ryukyu wondered.

"Your quirks."

Camilla was quick to answer. Now Tsukauchi was looking up to the girl with more interest.

"I don't have a clear answer yet, but I think this planet being so densely populated with super powered people is what's giving this world such a strong link to the Force. It's almost like your powers are mutated variants of Force abilities that have evolved over time into what they are now. It sounds crazy. And I highly doubt that's the clear answer, but it's the only theory I've got. The only abnormality is…All Might."

Ryukyu didn't notice this, but Tsukauchi's breath became caught in his throat for a moment at the mention of the number one hero. If Camilla saw people by seeing their power, then just what did she see when she looked at All Might? And when did she even see him? A bit nervous, the detective did his best to hide it.

"When did you meet All Might?" He asked her with a straight tone.

Camilla did sense some odd tinge of fear coming off Tsukauchi a moment ago. She wasn't sure what it was about, but she had a funny idea she would find out soon enough.

"Yesterday." She answered. "I was out for a walk and I bumped into him at a beach filled with trash. He took me and Izuku to breakfast."

"Izuku?" Tsukauchi repeated.

"A student under All Might's wing." Ryukyu replied to him now. "Funny. I never would have guessed All Might to be a mentor after what happened between him and Sir Nighteye. But I digress. What did you see, Camilla?"

Tsukauchi took a moment to process this before he redirected his ears to the Jedi. All Might had taken on a student? For what purpose? A moment later he felt silly for not thinking of it immediately. It looks like the number one hero finally found a worthy successor to bestow One For All upon. But how much did Camilla know?

"When I looked at All Might I didn't just see one light showing his Force connection. I saw eight."

Now this was something that Ryukyu seemed to have difficulty wrapping her head around. Tsukauchi next to her only grew more nervous with every word that came out of her mouth.

"Eight lights?" Ryukyu repeated not understanding at all.

"One brighter than the rest right were his heart is. The others were dimmer and spread throughout the rest of his body. The sheer amount of power I could feel radiating off him…he was like a sun. I was afraid if I even so much as touched him my hand would burn."

That was indeed the impression most people got after seeing All Might in action and witnessing his power for themselves. For this girl to be able to tell that with no demonstration but just by being near him, this was indeed a useful skill the Force granted her. But once again, they were focusing too much on one unrelated thing and not sticking to the topic at hand.

"All Might's power aside, we need to learn more about yours." Ryukyu said back.

"I agree." Tsukauchi was desperate for a subject change. "So you can see to a limited degree, you can move objects of various sizes with your mind, you can sense emotions and you can jump high. Is there anything else you can do that we should be aware of?"

Camilla ran her hand over her chin and thought for a moment. From what they saw a couple days ago, they did already see the majority of the Force powers she uses the most often along with a glimpse at her saber skills. She did then remember another one she had been learning to use more effectively and paled when she recalled just who she used it on.

"Ooooooohhhh…" She mumbled out.

Ryukyu and Tsukauchi exchanged confused looks with each other before turning to the Padawan again.

"'Oh' what?" Tsukauchi asked.

"Well….." Camilla gave a nervous chuckle and rubbed the back of her head. "You two remember Doctor Aoki? From the hospital?"

"Yes. Why?" The dragoon hero replied.

"I may owe her an apology."

Ryukyu started to not like where this could potentially be going. She remembered now. She said Doctor Aoki gave her back her stuff at the hospital and then went home. But why? What did Camilla do to her?

"Just for the record though, this isn't an ability of mine I use regularly. Only in the most dire of circumstances. And keep in mind at that time the lot of you thought I was crazy."

Her words did have a bit of truth in them. Ryukyu never believed Camilla was crazy in fact she was the one to figure out she was an alien first. But with Tsukauchi questioning her back there, and given his response to her answers initially, her thoughts we valid.

"Camilla what did you do?" The number nine hero wanted to know.

So Camilla told her.

"I planted a hypnotic suggestion inside the doctor's head. It's called a Jedi mind trick and we only use them unless absolutely necessary."

Telekinesis, emotion sensing, sight with no eyes, and now hypnotism? Just how many different psychic abilities did this one girl have?! Immediately Camilla could sense the shock coming from both Ryukyu and Tsukauchi in front of her.

"Well you're certainly right. You do owe her an apology." Tsukauchi sounded stern in his voice.

Camilla deflated a bit. She knew he was right.

"I'll go back to the hospital tomorrow."

Both the adults could get behind that idea. Ryukyu even volunteered to accompany her. Now that that was out of the way, they got back to it. So far the list of Camilla's Force abilities were at 4.

"So what else can you do? Or what were you training to do?"

Ryukyu felt that could be a wider range of answers here. Boy was she right.

"Precognition was also a common thing for Jedi to learn. Being able to see things before they happen is a great asset to us in a battle. It's how I'm able to use my lightsaber to block shots fired at me. I knew where they were going to be."

From there it just went on and the two were more enraptured with the possibilities the Force could give to just one person who trained hard enough with it. Camilla was now up to five different psychic abilities and that was all she had learned. The only other power she had good enough experience in was Force speed; the ability to augment the Force to give her a short burst of enhanced speed. That was a total of six for now. But how many more could she learn? She went on to say there were many other powers more experienced masters could learn with decades of time. Even the most basic ability could be strengthened into something more powerful. Precognition for instance could also be used to see far into the future rather than just moments before.

All in all, Ryukyu and Tsukauchi were doing a pretty good job keeping their composure together as Camilla listed off more and more abilities she hadn't attempted. She was too young and inexperienced a Jedi to try and move onto new powers until she had full mastery of her current arsenal. The pro hero and the detective were glad she didn't seem to have the mindset to try something dangerous without real knowledge of it. They just hoped she stayed that way.

With all the information he had on his notepad, Tsukauchi flipped back to the first page where she had her basic info. The quirk name was still blank. Based off everything he had heard Camilla spout off about the Force and the powers that can be used, it was all very psychic based. So what name could be used?

"Hmm…coming up with a convincing quirk name isn't easy. If it were just one thing that would be simpler but for a whole thing like this, what to do?"

"How about, Martian Power?"

The three present plus R3 turned to the elevator to see Mirko walking out of it and plopping her butt down next to Camilla. She took a donut for herself and then proceeded to take a bite.

"She's not a Martian, Rumi." Ryukyu rolled her eyes at the joke.

"Whatever. What did I miss anyway?"

Tsukauchi and Camilla gave the rabbit hero a brief rundown of what they just went over regarding the latter's power. When they were finished, Mirko was looking up and down this girl from head to toe, once again stunned by what the hell kind of impossible power was pumping through her veins.

"Holy crap, kid. Brainwashing people and seeing the future on top of all the other shit we've seen? Your brain has to be swelling under that hair of yours."

Camilla shrugged at the…compliment?

"I highly doubt that's the case." Ryukyu contended. "But we're nearly there. We just have to name her power as a quirk and that should be the end of it. Let's see here."

She brought a hand up to rub the bottom of her chin to think.

"Well what are the names of your quirks?" Camilla asked.

"Mine's 'Rabbit'. Ryuko's is 'Dragon", and detective here is….what? Lie Detection?"

"Yup." Tsukauchi replied. "And by the way, I think I got it."

"A name?" Ryukyu put her hand down as she looked over to the notepad.

The detective in kind held it up for her to get a better look.

"Yeah. What do you think of that?"

Looking over the quirk name for the Force, Ryukyu replayed it a few times in her head and then mouthed in with her lips before they turned up into a smile.

"I think that will work fine."

"Well don't leave me in suspense. Let me see." Mirko was leaning on the edge of her seat.

Tsukauchi moved his arm so now the notepad was in front of the rabbit hero's face. The bottom line was where the name was written and Mirko smirked. Tsukauchi did well.

"I like it. Not a mouthful, covers everything, and it can sound intimidating."

"What? What does it say?"

When Mirko said it out loud, Camilla found herself nodding a couple times out of pure thought. What the rabbit hero said was true. The name was quick, to the point, and it said everything about her power without saying the parts that had to be hidden. She hoped it wouldn't have to be forever but for now, it would be perfect.

"I like it."

With all four people in the room smiling, the first step of turning Camilla Sharro into a fully fledged Earthling was officially taken. Now the rest of that path had to make it clear. Though there were already a few signs planted in that road telling where to go.

"Alright, we got her basic info down. So now we gotta get her more familiar with our world." Ryukyu stated.

Mirko and Tsukauchi nodded knowing that was a big part.

"Not to mention learning how to read and write. I'll look into a couple blind outreach programs. It shouldn't be too hard to get her into a Braille class."

Right. The Braille. Camilla remembered that being mentioned as a language for blind people. Honestly she was quite excited to learn a way for someone like her to read. Yeah she could see books but the words printed on them were unseen.

"Hold it."

Suddenly the tone of the room seemed to shift as the dark skinned buff woman in the room stood up and looked down to the Jedi next to her.

"You and me. Rooftop. Now."

Mirko's tone was flat and a bit stern sounding to Camilla. Tsukauchi and Ryukyu both looked a bit nervous now because they knew what the rabbit hero wanted.

"Why, Miss Mirko?"

The two other humans on the couch across from her were happy Camilla couldn't make out facial features. Because the grin that was now on Mirko's face was probably wide and feral looking enough to scare off every kid within a one hundred meter radius.

"I wanna see what you can do. Up close."

While Camilla couldn't see her face, the amount of excitement and aggression mixing together she was sensing did not sit well at all.

"I've got a bad feeling about this."

Tsukauchi let the notepad fall to the table knowing there was about to be a spar. Before he got up though, he glanced one more time at the details he wrote down.

Name: Camilla Sharro

Age: 14

Date of Birth: March 12th

Hair color: Red

Eyes: Gray

Sex: Female

Quirk: Forceful Mind

It was hours later when the middle school bells rang and let the students free for another night. They scattered like ants from the hill only minutes after they were allowed to go. Deep in thought, a young girl was making her way down the street to her home with a couple of her friends as they talked about what they wanted to do in the future. Since it was their last year of middle school, high school was pretty much a portal into the future. For this brown haired girl, there was no thought to her future. She had known what she wanted to do with her life since she was very little.

She looked down at her hands taking extra notice of the pads at the tip of her fingers. She had so much hope and a big dream staked on what was to be an even bigger gamble. The U.A. High entrance exam. The test everyone who wants to be a hero both looks forward to and fears at the same time. That test was known as the crusher of so many hopeful heroes' dreams. She could only hope with her quirk and her tenacity, she could beat the odds and become what she needed to be to help her parents. She clenched her fists, resolving right then and there for probably the fiftieth time in her life to give it her best shot.

"Hey, Ochako!"

The girl snapped her head back up and looked to her right at her friend who called her.

"Oh. Sorry!"

"You were thinking about U.A. again weren't you?"

The friend didn't need an answer. It was all Ochako ever talked about whenever they got into the subject of career goals.

"It's always on my mind." Ochako answered. "Just think, by this time next year I could be in one of those classrooms learning how to fight and be an amazing hero."

"I think you're a shoo-in to get in there by your quirk alone." The other friend commented. "You're lucky you know. Not many of us in our class have quirks that would be useful at all in a crisis situation."

"Maybe, but I just hope it's enough. I can do a lot with it but-"

"But it totally makes you puke all over the place whenever you use it too much."

Ochako's cheeks puffed out and she suddenly had the urge to pinch her friend's arm or something for reminding her of the big drawback of her own quirk.

"Maybe that's how she'll get in! She'll hurl so much the other applicants get grossed out and just leave."

The two friends just laughed while Ochako grumbled as she walked. While they were walking, they didn't notice they were walking by a familiar agency building. None of them really noticed until someone pushed past them and brushed against Ochako's shoulders.

"Oh excuse me!"

Ochako waved her hand and was about to say it was alright but the blue haired girl she saw just rushed through the door of the building she was next to before she could get a word out.

"Hey this is Ryukyu's agency!" One of the friends shouted.

Ochako looked up and down the building now caring not about who bumped into her and more about where she was. A place she hoped to be one day. A good agency that would pay her well. Ryukyu was an incredible hero. Anyone that got to learn under her was definitely lucky.

"Man this is definitely what a pro's agency looks like." Ochako said with a bright smile. "Hopefully one day I'm at a place like this."

"Well good luck. I hear a lot of heroes like Ryukyu really put their sidekicks to the test. Not just out in the city but in training too."

Ochako did agree with her friend's thoughts. Of course the heroes put sidekicks through harsh training. Being a pro was a harsh job so the training had to be the same right?

Meanwhile upstairs in Ryukyu's office, a red haired girl was laying down on the couch with an ice pack on her back.

"Come on, Martian Girl. I didn't hit you that hard."

Camilla very much begged to differ.

Right after they got done getting her basic info down, Mirko had taken it upon herself to spar with Camilla to get a better idea of what they needed to work on with her so she'd be as prepared as possible for U.A. A good idea but like in all of her fights, Mirko tended to get a little too into it. So they had taken her up to the roof to get a good match in. Ryukyu, Tsukauchi, and R3 all went with her to supervise and make sure things didn't get out of hand.

The fight a few days ago with the villain was a good glimpse but Mirko wanted an up close and personal demonstration. The only rule to this was Camilla wasn't allowed to use her lightsabers for attack. Only defense. Those things could be dangerous and swordsmanship wasn't Mirko's or Ryukyu's strong suits. So if Camilla wanted to go offensive, she had to use either the Force or hand to hand skills. Both the pro heroes as well as the detective wanted to see how Camilla used her powers in a fight. Since Ryukyu didn't want any of the equipment in her training room destroyed, the roof was the best bet. There was still some construction equipment and materials left behind from when the roof got overhauled last fall. Plenty of ammo for Mirko to work with.

Camilla had only her weapon in use. Her masters she kept clipped to her belt at all times and didn't try to use it once. Swing after swing, her saber chopped in half cinder blocks that were thrown at her by Mirko. The two halves rolled to the ground with part of them now burnt and melted. Scattered around the floor were even more chopped up bricks and other non essential pieces of metal from the air conditioning units. A series of pants wheezed out of Camilla as she looked in Mirko's general direction. She got the rabbit hero wanted to test her but this seemed a little bit overkill.

Mirko wasn't easily impressed. But when she was, boy did she show it by getting more aggressive. It started out by jumping the kid from behind when they first got out to the roof. She threw a strong roundhouse kick right at Camilla's back to start things off. The young Jedi was barely able to duck it before she jumped back using the Force a bit and calling her lightsaber into her hand. From there, Mirko went fully on the attack while also being careful not to damage the rooftop of Ryukyu's building too much. Whatever she did damage she could front the bill for. She went straight for the bricks and immediately started chucking as many as she could at the girl. Camilla moved out of the way of the first two, then rolled into a swinging chop with her saber, then dodged again before catching another one with the Force and throwing it back at Mirko. From there it just went on for hours keeping up the same motions.

It wasn't just dodging thrown objects Camilla had to deal with here. She also had to deal with keeping Mirko back when she got close. She had to be careful to not use her saber and accidentally chop off a limb, or one of those big ears of hers. She was good at evasive maneuvers but she wasn't perfect. The pain in her back was a testament to that. More than once Mirko had gotten in a good kick to her gut and sent her flying into one of the AC units, leaving a sizeable dent. If this was what training was gonna be like at U.A., better she get used to it now than later she supposed.

Finally after two hours of going nonstop, Ryukyu stepped in and said enough was enough. She could tell Camilla was tired and Tsukauchi couldn't stick around all day. Despite it being his day off he still had other things to do now that their plan to instill Camilla was underway. So while Camilla limped back down to Ryukyu's office, Tsukauchi left. But he did leave the donuts behind for the Jedi to enjoy. She took that as a win for her.

The lingering pain in her back and the ice pack she could do without though. A soft groan could be heard out of her as she finally answered Mirko back.

"You consider all that you did up there, 'not that hard'?"

Mirko just gave a firm nod.

"Yeah."

She was insane. Camilla was sure of it. Training for the test alone was gonna end her faster than the Clone Wars could. Sitting down with another cup of tea, Ryukyu couldn't help but look at that tired Jedi with some sympathy.

"You didn't have to go so hard on her and you know it." Ryukyu scolded.

"Ya see? This right here is why I never take on any interns like you do. If kids are such pansies when it comes to someone like me training them then they aren't worth my time if you ask me. Besides, she can heal herself with that blue shit she has."

After being in that position for the past twenty minutes, Camilla leaned up and sat back up straight on the couch. She then fished into her belt and pulled out one of the vials of her blue healing solution.

"Yeah that." Mirko pointed at it when she saw it. "What is that crap anyway?"

"It's called bacta." Camilla answered. "It's a powerful healing substance. When it makes contact with an injured part of the body, it can re-grow tissue, including nerves, skin, and muscles."

That sounded right to the rabbit hero. She remembered vividly how that stuff worked when she injected it into that guy's shoulder. It was only a few seconds that passed before that gnarly cut on his shoulder was closed up and healed as if it wasn't even there at all. That bacta probably saved him from getting stitched and a scar being left behind. Even some of the best healing quirks couldn't do everything. The best one she did know about worked exclusively for U.A. High. That thought got Mirko grinning. Just wait until Recovery Girl got a look at this bacta shit and watch it make her obsolete.

"So why don't you shoot yourself with it now and fix that back of yours up?" She asked the sore Jedi.

R3 answered her before Camilla could in a series of chirps that could only be described as annoyed.

"Calm down, R3." She grunted again before answering. "But he's right. These few vials in my belt and that small case I have in my bag are all the bacta I've got with no access to more. A sore back is hardly a reason to waste one of these."

Emergency use only. Both pro heroes could understand that. Ryukyu didn't like seeing the young girl in pain but did agree a sore back didn't warrant her wasting one of the vials of what she now knows is a severely limited supply. Mirko was grinning again liking the Jedi's attitude. Taking the pain like a true hero and working through it she was. It was kind of refreshing to meet a kid who could take a punch. Or rather a hella hard kick.

Camilla put the vial away and was about to lie back down but the elevator ding stopped her. Was Tsukauchi back? No. She looked over and sensed the familiar perkiness of one Nejire Hado exiting the lift. Mirko and Ryukyu both noticed the obvious smile on her face.

"I got the message and I had to come by! I'm so happy you-"

Nejire's cheer was cut off when she looked at Camilla and noticed the banged up shape she appeared to be in.

"What happened to you?" She asked.

"Her." Both Camilla and Ryukyu answered in unison while both pointing to Mirko.

"Me." Mirko just raised her hand with a grin, happy to take credit for it.

Nejire looked back and forth between the three of them before sitting down next to Camilla and putting her arms around her in a gentle hug.

"Well whatever! I'm just glad you decided to go to U.A.! I can't wait til you're there and you and I are classmates!"

"The kid's strong but she still has a long way to go." Mirko commented.

No immediate reply was given to the rabbit hero. They knew she was right. But a few seconds later, there was a reaction from Nejire. A few breaths in through her nose caused her to notice something that she couldn't believe she hadn't noticed before this. Her cheeks puffed out and her eyes began to water as she pushed Camilla away from her a bit harder than she meant to and jumped off the couch.

"OH SWEET MERCIFUL LORD!"

The Padawan got back up and looked back to Nejire more than annoyed at the shove.

"What?! What's wrong with you?!"

"It isn't me!"

The blue haired girl turned to show her face again. It was kinda flushed green and her hand was over her nose and mouth.

"Camilla when was the last time you bathed?!"

Suddenly the two adults nearby felt incredibly stupid for not taking hygiene into account when taking care of this girl. They weren't exactly sure how they had missed the smell before. Maybe they weren't looking for it. But now that Camilla had quite loudly pointed it out, there it was. It lingered in the air. Quite the stench coming straight off of Camilla's body and quite possibly her clothes.

"Let's see…" She actually had to think about her answer. That wasn't a good sign. "It's been three days since I crashed here….a week ago."

"A WEEK?!" Nejire was sure she had to be kidding. "You haven't been clean in a week?!"

"Like I said before, I was in a war. Cleanliness wasn't exactly the first thing on my mind." Camilla replied again.

"Well it's the first thing on my mind! Let's go!"

Partially holding her breath, Nejire grabbed Camilla's arm and began to pull her off the couch and to the elevator.

"H-hey! Where are you taking me?!" She demanded to know.

"To the showers downstairs! You need to get clean same as your clothes!"

"But I don't have any other clothes!"

"I'll give you some of mine! Just move!"

This went on into the elevator and their voices could still be heard as they went down.

"Stop trying to take my clothes off! I can do that myself!"

"Well then do it faster!"

"I'm not getting naked in front of you!"

The office was now only occupied by the two pro heroes and the droid. Both the heroes were grinning, amused at the scene that just unfolded before them. If R3 could do that too, he would be. Watching his owner get pulled away like that was quite funny to him. A few more beeps could be heard coming from him catching the attention of the two pros.

"I have no idea what you said, tin can." Mirko said to the droid. "But your intern does have a point. If Martian Girl is gonna be an earthling, she does have to dress like one."

Ryukyu nodded in agreement seeing a shopping trip in her future. Nejire could be a big help in that department being a fashionable teen herself.

Things were in motion now. All they could hope for was a smooth ride.
