Binding the Galaxy Together

Chapter 24 – Battle Trial (Part 1)

Everyone has a morning routine. For Izuku, his had been nearly the exact same for a decade. First he gets up, takes a quick shower, gets his uniform on, he eats his mother's home cooked breakfast, then dash out the door to head to school. This year, that routine had a new step after all the others. That was to pick up his alien friend from her apartment complex down the road and then they head off to the train together. Nearly half a year has passed since he and Ochako learned that fact about Camilla and he still to this day had trouble wrapping his head around it. One of his best friends wasn't only a girl, but a girl from another planet in a whole other galaxy far far away. That fact alone, even without everything else about her Jedi upbringing piled onto it, was monumental. An alien was on earth and he was her friend.

As he waited in front of her apartment complex's front gate, he wondered what the day would hold for him and his friends at school. Izuku also hoped to god or the Force or anything out there that could be listening that Aizawa didn't try to pull another rational deception. One was enough to last a lifetime. This was the first "real" day of school. Not another get to know you type of day, the other classes were starting in full swing now. And that meant hero basic training as well. His thoughts got interrupted when he heard the gate's door open and shut.

"Good morning, Camilla! You excited to…go…to…"

He was gonna finish his question but Izuku stopped the moment he saw the young Jedi's face. Even with sunglasses on, Izuku could see the frown on Camilla's face and it didn't point to any good signs.

"Hey are you alright? What's wrong?" He asked.

Camilla's first response was a sigh as she tilted her head up to let the Force read the image of the boy with One For All in his body.

"I don't wanna talk about it. Let's just get going. We don't wanna miss our train."

When Camilla turned to walk away, Izuku stayed right by her side, now with a heavy weight of concern on his mind. The Jedi could easily sense the anxiety but she paid it no mind. She knew it was for her and Izuku was probably the last person she wanted to talk to about this right now. What Katsuki had said to her last night was still fresh in her mind and it was still pissing her off to no end. She didn't want to unload all of that on Izuku. Not right now anyway. They had to get to school. Unsure but unwilling to force her to talk about something she clearly didn't want to, Izuku kept quiet the entire way to school, only speaking again to Ochako when she joined them further down the train ride. When she asked Camilla what was wrong, she was met with the same response. All it did was worry the two of them further.

Sleep didn't come easy to the blind Padawan the previous night. She was having a pleasant evening and then Katsuki just had to go and ruin it by spouting his delusional nonsense. And then the Force just had to go and show her that Katsuki was one of these mysterious twenty figures she was being told to trust. It left her confused. It left her worried. It left her more frustrated than she had felt in nearly a year. The Force works in mysterious ways. Hardly a day went by when Master Yoda didn't remind her of that. But that didn't quench her thirst for answers one bit. She was being shown these people. So obviously they were important to her. What was she supposed to do with them? Save them? Help them? Heaven forbid fight them? What? What was it? Thinking about it more only hurt her head. The only thing she could think to do in order to try and get closer to this mystery's answer, was to make them all take true shape in her vision. So far less than half of them had real shape. The rest were still masses of fog. Maybe today, she would get closer. She had to have hope after all. In Katsuki's case however, she would have to hold out on hope for him. Time would reveal what was truly going on in his head.

The morning went on and normal classes such as math, science, and art went on without much trouble. Camilla was able to follow along easily thanks to the Braille print books and papers she got. She reminded herself to thank Principal Nezu again for even having a printer to accommodate her for that. Also during the time of those other classes, a few minutes was spent getting to learn the names of all her other classmates when the teachers took attendance. So to know the names of all these people with her was very helpful. A few hours later, it was lunch time. After gushing over the pro hero Lunch Rush who ran the cafeteria, everyone in class took their food and sat down to eat. Izuku, Tenya, Camilla, and Ochako all sat together at a table

All day at this point, Camilla had kept her sunglasses on whenever she wasn't in a classroom that didn't have Aizawa. She could tell a few people were giving her funny looks by sensing their feelings alone. Pangs of guilt and unease came every now and again from random people in her class all day. It was clear what happened yesterday during the assessment was still weighing on a lot of people's minds. Though to be honest, for her, it was better sensing that then the untamable rage that was coming from Katsuki.

While everyone else ate at a steady pace, the three of them took notice of Camilla slowly eating hers and just using her power to fiddle with her chopsticks rather than use them to bring food to her mouth.

"Is she alright?" Tenya asked the other two since they knew Camilla better.

"Unclear. She's barely said anything today." Ochako muttered.

Izuku glanced back to the Jedi who was using one finger to nudge her chopstick, and the other to fiddle with her Padawan braid. He had spent the past few hours leaving her be but now they were only minutes away from their first real hero training class. She needed to be in the right mindset and this clearly wasn't it.

"Hey so-"

"I still don't wanna talk about it, Izuku."

But Izuku wasn't going to have it. Not now.

"Camilla, come on. You gotta give us something here. You've been quiet all day and I can clearly tell something's bothering you."

"Is it about the way the class reacted to your eyes yesterday?" Tenya overheard and wanted to help too. "Because if it is, then perhaps-"

"No, Tenya. It isn't that." Camilla snapped a little harsher than she meant to.

The moment she lat that snappy tone through her lips, she immediately regretted it as she sensed Tenya's unease a moment later.

"….sorry….I just promise that isn't it."

"Well then what's wrong?" Ochako begged. "Don't shut us out. We're right here."

The Padawan sighed. Now there were three of them who were determined to help her out of her funk. Sensing a repeat of the speech Izuku and Ochako gave her about bottling her feelings at Christmas, she quickly decided it was in her best interest to just give the two what they wanted. They just hoped they wouldn't react badly to it.

"Katsuki came by my apartment last night."

All three of them reeled back in shock at that one. They didn't have a clue before what was keeping the girl in a mood, but they weren't expecting this to be the reason why.

"Bakugo knows where you live now?" Ochako felt sorry for her friend.

"Kacchan does live near me and her so it makes sense he'd figure it out sooner or later." Izuku felt need to explain to Tenya.

"Understandable. But why would something like that have you in such low spirits?"

"It wasn't a friendly visit." Camilla nearly growled. "He just…said a lot of things that made me mad. And that anger is still there. I just don't know what I should do with it."

As much as she wanted to talk to Izuku and Ochako about her vision, she couldn't now with Tenya being in earshot. Her anger towards Katsuki mixed with the knowledge that the boy was someone the Force was guiding her towards, it just didn't make sense. She wanted answers desperately here and had no idea how to get them.

"That does sound like something Kacchan would do." Izuku sadly admitted. "But what did he say to you to make you like this?"

"Please tell us so we can help you." Ochako pleaded.

"I concur with Midoriya and Uraraka. I know I only truly met you yesterday but as your classmate I do promise to help how I can." Tenya's arm softly made a chopping motion as he spoke.

Camilla turned her head and focused between all three of the people on her side one at a time. Slowly, for the first time that day, a smile crept its way onto her face as she let the words they just spoke process in her mind. First Izuku and Ochako being there like usual, and now Tenya here was thrown into the mix. She could sense his desire to help was genuine. And for the three of them, seeing that little smile was enough to make them feel a bit better too.

"I appreciate that." The young Jedi said to them. "But I won't tell you just yet."

"But-" Ochako was cut off before could fully protest.

"After school." Camilla suggested. "Like you guys said, hero class is next and I don't wanna bring you down right before it. Despite my feelings I am legitimately still looking forward to that class myself."

One by one, the three humans born of Earth smiled at her reasoning. She sounded like she wasn't going to let Katsuki, whatever he said to her, stay in her way for this class. That was good. This was the class they applied to be part of after all. Not only that, All Might himself was said to be teaching for the first time so there was also that to look forward to. A matter of minutes later, everyone got through their lunch and the cafeteria cleared out when the bell rang.

Quickly, everyone in class 1-A filed into their room and took their seats. It took only a couple minutes for everyone to show up and fill every desk in the classroom. But every second of those two minutes felt much longer as Camilla kept sensing pangs of unease from most of the people around her once again. Not even a full day in and she was already tired of it. The only ones she couldn't really feel much from were Izuku and Ochako, obviously. Tenya was OK too since he took the time to actually talk with her after school yesterday. Katsuki was a big ball of rage as per usual. Everyone else, most of them were along the same lines of nervousness and a little pity. Then there was Shoto.

Camilla was seated in the back row where there were five desks lined up. She was in the middle one. Right next to her on the left side, there sat Shoto Todoroki. The boy the Force was guiding her towards before they even met was right next to her now and the young Jedi had no idea how to even get things started when it came to talking to him. She couldn't make out his face, but he didn't say much which sort of gave off the impression that he had a calm demeanor. His thoughts betrayed him however. All that anger towards his father was still there. Was she meant to help him with his issues? Was he supposed to help her with something she didn't know about yet? Add that on to the ever growing pile of things and Camilla was nearly drowned. It wasn't like she could just go, "Hey. I can sense your feelings about your father. Wanna talk about them?" If those kinds of feelings made him angry then maybe it would be considered an invasion of privacy.

"I AM HERE!"

Thankfully a pretty big distraction came in the form of the number one hero bursting through the door with a very dramatic looking pose.

"COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

Just like that, a switch was flipped in nearly everyone's minds as they saw All Might come into their classroom fully clad in a hero suit.

"No way! It really is All Might!"

"He's actually a teacher! This is so cool!"

"Check out his costume! Is that new? I don't think I've ever seen him wear a cape!"

"I think that's his silver age costume. So retro!"

"What a manly entrance!"

With a lot more style than he probably needed, All Might made a show of just walking from the door to the desk. When he was finally behind it where Aizawa would normally be, he turned to view the group of students in full for the first time. Every single one of them looked pumped and excited. Maybe most of that was because of his presence alone but even so, if that were indeed the case, he could use that to keep them that way.

"Welcome to the most important class here at U.A.! Hero basic training! More commonly referred to as Heroing 101! In this class you'll learn exactly what you'll need to make it in the world of pro heroes, and how to fight in the name of good!"

He was only giving a brief description of the class and All Might could see nearly the whole class start to fidget in their seats excited beyond all hell. On the inside he was smiling just as wide as the one on his face in the current moment. Oh how it was to be young and completely unaware of what the years after high school had to throw at you.

"I can tell you're all pumped so let's dive right in! Today's lesson is going to pull no punches!"

With another flair of showmanship, All Might whipped out a card from behind his back with the word "BATTLE" written on it in all capital letters. Once the kids saw it and read it, the mood in the room intensified tenfold. Katsuki especially was growing hungrier by the second for this lesson to get underway now that he knew what it was going to entail.

"Fight training!" The ash blonde had a feral smile.

"Wait. Real combat already?" Izuku was pretty much the opposite.

"But before you all go rushing off, let me remind you! No real pro is complete without their signature look!"

A remote appeared in All Might's hand. With gusto, he pointed it at the nearby wall and pressed a button on it. Not even a second later, a series of briefcases slid out of hidden slots in the wall, each of them numbered 1 through 21.

"These costumes were specifically designed for each of you based on your quirk registration forms and the blueprints you submitted before the start of the school year!"

Just like that, the hype in the whole room was dialed to eleven. This was what so many of them had waited their whole lives for; the chance to don their own look as a hero.

"Now don't just sit there! Suit up and then head out to training ground Beta! I'll be waiting for you!"

"YES SIR!"

One by one, the briefcases were pulled from their places in the wall by the students with the corresponding number on the faces of them. When the path was clear, Izuku, Ochako and Camilla all approached the racks the cases were in together. Izuku had case number 18 while Ochako had case number 5.

"Uuuhhh….which one is mine?" Camilla quietly asked.

Ochako looked back to take a look at what number desk the Jedi sat at.

"Yours should be 15. That one." The brunette pointed to the case in question.

Case 15 was indeed still there at the very bottom of one of the racks. Reaching out her hand, Camilla pulled the case into her waiting hand with the Force and headed out the door with it. But not before she grabbed her backpack on the way out with her. On her way out, she picked up more of those sensations again. Feelings of doubt and pity arose from the classmates who just watched her ask which briefcase was hers because she couldn't see the number plastered on the front of it. She did her best to ignore it but Camilla couldn't fully do it. Even after scoring top of the charts on both the entrance exam and assessment test, there was still a good number of her classmates who thought she wouldn't do well because of her eyes alone.

She wasn't much for crushing. That was more of a Sith thing to do. But today, Camilla had a new objective. Crush the doubts of her classmates and make them see her for who she really is. As a hero in training and a Jedi.

While Izuku went one way, the girls went the other. While she felt the handle of the case in her palm, the Padawan learner thought about what was inside it and what wearing it would mean. And that made her think about the conversation she and Izuku had a few weeks prior to school starting.

"A hero costume?"

Nearly three weeks ago, the day after they had all gotten their test results, Izuku, Ochako, and Camilla were all hanging out together at Mirko's apartment on the weekend. The rabbit hero herself was on another one of her out of town which left the Jedi on her own with her droid. They had wanted to celebrate with each other that they all got into U.A. High. But before they did there were a few things they had to take care of beforehand. Their exam results weren't the only thing that came in that envelope from the school. Among them were all sorts of forms that needed to be filled out regarding basic things like information, emergency contacts, home address and whatnot. One of those forms was for something called a clothing allowance. As Izuku had just put it moments ago, that was what needed to be filled out in order to have your own custom hero costume made.

"That's right." Izuku nodded excitedly as he spoke about it further. "You send in your quirk registration forms on top of any special requests you want to have added into the design. Then U.A. will send those to the company in charge of making you your very own state of the hard hero suit."

Camilla nodded in understanding as she leaned back in her seat on the couch. All three of them had their U.A. paperwork with them sorted out on the coffee table in front of them.

"This is totally something I've been looking forward to for years!" Ochako proclaimed happily while sketching out a few things on a notepad.

"Oh really? What are you thinking of for yours?" Camilla asked.

She was curious to know. These two had been fantasizing about this particular thing nearly their whole lives. It was interesting to hear them talk about it from their point of view as opposed to her own which is someone who hadn't really given it much thought until now.

"Well it was always gonna be spaced themed. That was decided when I was just a little kid. So that's staying the same. As for special requests, I'm gonna see if I can add some gear to it that will help my nausea not be so bad when I use my quirk."

Camilla could agree that was a good design idea. Ochako's tendency to vomit was a big drawback to her power.

"But meeting you and learning how to sword fight caused me to think of some new changes to my idea. I still wanna be a rescue hero but with that little skill I can add in something that will really show I'm a force to be reckoned with."

Izuku raised an eyebrow.

"Force pun intended?"

"I'll never tell!"

All three of them let out a laugh together before they continued right on.

"So what are you going to add in to compliment your sword training?" Camilla wondered.

"That I'm going to leave a surprise." Ochako teased. "But enough about mine. What about you, Deku? Anything specific you're going for?"

The green haired boy flipped through a few pages in his notebook before landing on a rough sketch of his design idea. To the surprise of nobody, the sketch gave off the impression of an idea for All Might merchandise rather than a separate costume for someone else.

"Well, One For All is mostly a quirk that invokes super strength. So that doesn't really involve anything really all that flashy or noteworthy right now. So I'm just gonna stick with something simple for now and see what happens down the line."

"Isn't there anything you can bring to your suit that helps ensure you won't…you know…break yourself again?"

Camilla could hear the pain in Ochako's voice as she struggled to get the last part of the question past her lips. The gravity girl's mind flashed back to images of him on the ground with his limbs busted up beyond recognition. Thankfully for her though, Izuku didn't pick up on that pain so he didn't drag it out.

"Well not yet. But hopefully I can learn to control One For All quick, so then I won't hurt myself at all. For now I like the ideas I have."

It was the best answer he could give at the time. All three of them knew that. Even the droid next to them was smart enough to get that. Izuku was still just a baby learning to walk with this new power. It was gonna take a little pain before he learned to run with it.

"Maybe we should focus more on Camilla though." Izuku suggested. "Help her figure out what she should do for hers."

"That's a good idea!" Ochako agreed with a smile. "Well Camilla? What do you think? Your very own hero costume. Do you have any thoughts?"

Truth be told she had thought about it many times. The idea of her having a hero costume like Mirko's, Ryukyu's, or Nejire's definitely made sense to fit in on this planet. But then again, was it really necessary to go through the trouble of having one made when she technically already had one?

"I considered it but I ultimately decided to stick to my robes. I know I said I'd learn how to be a hero but I still fully intend to be a Jedi too."

Ochako and Izuku would be lying if they said they didn't anticipate this. The girl was devout through and through to the Jedi Code. Whatever way she could stick to them while living here, she would. But some things had to give.

"We understand that, Camilla. Really we do and it's awesome. But Deku and I both think that maybe you should have your own costume made."

"I've seen your robes up close. While effective, they're not very durable in terms of protection. They're mostly just fabric save for your belt and boots. But as archaic as they may look we could transition the overall design and look of them over to a hero costume. It would really work well enough to compliment your fighting style and skills with your lightsabers. Not to mention we could probably…"

Once again Izuku started to dive deep down the rabbit hole that was his muttering spells. Ochako and Camilla both rolled their eyes as their friend started to analyze the specifics of Camilla's Jedi attire. It was amazing. He had the mind of an amazing analyst but most of the time wasn't aware he even had it. Ochako leaned over to nudge his shoulder to break him out of it.

*ZAP!*

"OOWWWW!"

But R3 beat her to the punch by extending out his prod and firing a shock into Izuku's leg.

"R3, what did I tell you?!"

"He was freaking me out!"

"That doesn't mean you just shock him!"

The droid barely cared as his master and Ochako glared at him. Izuku rubbed his leg a bit more before stretching it out all the way to relieve some of the pain.

"It's really cool you have a droid to call your own and all that, Camilla. But R3 can be really mean sometimes." Izuku said. "But anyway, back to the point. I get you wanna go to U.A. as a Jedi. Uraraka and I both think you should too. But using a hero costume instead of your robes, I guarantee you will be the better choice."

He gazed down at the page on his notebook where he had a rough sketch drawn of what looked a lot like Camilla's Jedi apparel. Though there were some not too obvious differences.

"I already thought of some ideas. Just hear me out."

Camilla could grant him that at least. As much as she wanted to stick with her original Jedi garb, she knew Izuku was kind of an expert when it came to practical application of powers. In this case, that included just how well a hero costume could compliment said powers. She and Ochako both had to admit it. A lot of the ideas Izuku had were really good ones. Some of them she turned down thinking they went a bit over the top in terms of look and necessity, but by the end of Izuku's list of ideas, the alien and the space lover were fairly impressed.

"Well….I guess when you put it that way, maybe keeping the robes as backup isn't so bad an idea."

Ochako began to grow a wide smile.

"So does that mean…?"

"Yes. I'll take the dang hero costume."

Ochako and Izuku both smiled before the former took Camilla by the hand into her bedroom so she could get her friend's measurements for the specifics. While they did that, Izuku kept to his notebook and sketched out a few finer details regarding the Jedi's costume.

"Wow you really like sticking to wrappings for underwear don't you?"

"Those bra things restrict way too much."

If only the walls and doors were a little thicker. Maybe then Izuku wouldn't have been left a stuttering mess on the couch until the girls finally came out of the room.

In the girls' locker, room, each of the seven girls of class 1-A had their cases open and examining what was inside them. While various pieces of clothing and gear were pulled out of the cases, Camilla was focused solely on her own. She honestly didn't know what was inside or how it all would look put together, but she trusted her friends and their design inputs. She couldn't draw on her own so she had to leave it up to them. All she could hope for was they didn't go over the top. Before she opened the case though, Camilla unzipped her backpack and brought out her cloak that was folded up and hidden inside. Behind that was her belt with all of her gear, her lightsabers, and a few vials of bacta just in case. A hero costume she may relent to but there was no way she was handing over her weapons or her gear to anyone who wasn't trusted with her secret yet.

Getting her focus back on track and with a wave of her hand, the case opened and Camilla reached down to take her new garb out of the case.

In the entry way to training ground Beta, All Might stood patiently waiting for his class to enter the mock city fully clad in their new costumes. It was a rite of passage every hero student looked forward to. Training in what could be the look that defines them as heroes. It brought back fond memories of his old days at U.A. when he was back in those locker rooms putting on his first costume. Now not only was Izuku taking those steps, but so were Uraraka and Camilla alongside him. That was where master and successor differed here. All Might had been on his own for most of his life both in and out of school. But Izuku already had allies he could trust. That gave him an advantage over some others. But allies won't always be around when you need them to be. That was going to be one of the lessons hopefully instilled in most of these kids by the end of this class. At the very least those who didn't already know it beforehand.

Finally they all came out from the entry tunnel as a group. Class 1-A fully donning their first ever hero suits. The looks of these student ranged in quite the wide variety. As they came out of the shadows one by one, All Might couldn't help but feel more and more excited.

"Most people will say it's the clothes that make the pros and right now you all embody that! So be aware! As of the moment all of you are officially heroes in training!"

Once more he did a sweep of the kids in front of him. A lot of the ideas some of these kids put into their looks were very creative and very well executed by the design team.

"I'm feeling all revved up! You all look so freakin cool! Alright then you bunch of newbies! Let's get started!"

And started he was about to get. But before All Might could fully do that, he took one more look at the class before him and saw that there were only nineteen of them there. Two were missing. Looking amongst the heads he quickly deduced that Izuku and Camilla were the only ones who hadn't arrived yet. But they should be along fairly soon, he figured at least.

While he took a moment to wait, one of the shorter classmates of 1-A, Minoru Mineta, was looking around most of the girls and ogling their choice of costumes. Tsuyu, Mina, Ochako, and that recommended girl, Momo Yaoyorozu was her name he thinks, all of them were wearing tight suits that clung to their bodies like a second layer of skin and showed him everything he needed to see. In the case of Mina and Momo, there was a lot more to see than just the perfect shape of their bodies. The girl with the headphone wires on her earlobes, Kyoka Jiro, looked alright but she was dressed more casually with those baggy pants and that rocker coat.

"This is the best school on Earth. No one can ever make me think otherwise."

When the diminutive boy said that, he was standing near Ochako. The gravity girl didn't really appreciate being talked about like that, especially when she was wearing this damn suit.

'I really should have put more down in my request than just "space themed".'

Apparently the design team for her costume translated them into, "Show as much body as possible without showing any skin." The pattern was good. The pink, black, and white color scheme blended together quite nicely even. But why oh why did they give her a skintight bodysuit? It might as well have been a second layer of skin with how tight it clung to her body. Literally every one of her curves could be seen in all their glory, just concealed by what she hoped was a durable enough material. After bemoaning that, she did take another moment to look over the rest of her gear. While the suit itself wasn't preferable, the rest of it was. The wrist braces, neckpiece and head were all designed to help reduce nausea whenever she used her quirk too much. Hopefully this class would actually give her a chance to see if it worked or not. The oversized boots were very much reinforced and just like Ochako was hoping for. The soles were cushioned and there was a spring in the heel to absorb the shock impact from falling.

Then there was her new add on. Something she never thought that she would carry as part of her hero getup. But here she stood and there they were. Attached to her belt in the same way Camilla hung her lightsabers, there were two cylinder shaped pieces of silver metal a little over a foot in length and two inches wide. They were a little on the heavier side as opposed to Camilla's thanks to the hidden material that was inside the hilts. She couldn't wait for a chance to use them.

All in all, Ochako's costume wasn't exactly what she was hoping for, but it was still a very good one.

The sound of footsteps coming from behind her made Ochako's thoughts turn elsewhere. She spun around and looked down the tunnel she and the rest of the class walked through moments ago. There emerging from the shadows, she could make out what she assumed to be her friends in their new costumes.

"Deku, Camilla! Come on, we're starting!"

"We're here, we're here. Don't rush us, Ochako."

Only a few heads turned to look at the two as they joined the rest of them. Katsuki, Tenya, Tsuyu, and the same purple sphere haired boy that commented so openly about Ochako's suit. He was more than ready to see what the girl who scored highest in the entrance exam would bring into this fray of bodily exposure.

What he got instead was entirely the opposite of what he wanted.

Instead of a tight bodysuit, this costume was much more conservative. Perfect for Camilla. It was just what she had wanted. Her new brown bots fit her feet perfectly and the soles were reinforced and patterned for all types of terrain traversal. The under tunic was a simple black shirt with her necklace hidden underneath. The over tunic and pants were the same grey as her Jedi garb. Instead of a thick fabric coating her, the material that made this suit was much more durable and a bit heavier on her shoulders. A small offset now, but with time and muscle growth, that will fade away. It was also a tad more streamlined with the overall bagginess a lot less than what the common Jedi look is used to. There was something else on the back of her tunic, but her cloak covered it up. Along with said cloak, the belt, the gear in its pouches, and her lightsabers hanging proudly on display remained the only part of her garb that still hailed from Coruscant and her galaxy.

Ochako was smiling as she looked up and down Camilla's costume. Even if most of the class was unaware of it, the gravity girl was proud to be a part of the first class at U.A. to teach a member of the Jedi Order.

The small purple boy had other thoughts.

"The top of the babe food chain…the blind beauty of U.A.! What is she doing dressed like the pope rather than in tights the like other hotties?! Why God?! Why have-GGGGNNXNXXXXAAAAAAAAA!"

Before he could keep going, one of the earphone jacks courtesy of Kyoka had extended over and jammed right into Minoru's ear.

"Little pig." Kyoka grumbled.

The rocker girl was just happy she wasn't the only one of the girls who decided not to go with tights or unnecessary skin showing. Hell one of them was clad in just a pair of shoes and gloves.

As Minoru was dragged away by Hanta Sero, the boy with the oddly shaped elbows, Ochako looked back to the entry tunnel to take a look at her other friend. Izuku's costume looked almost identical to the rough sketch that the verdanette had drawn in his notebook, right down to the "bunny ears" that were no doubt modeled after All Might's signature hairstyle and the mouth cover that was supposed to resemble the famous smile. The suit was green all over with some white trim up the sides and middle. His red shoes could never be left behind in his eyes. Add in some link white gloves and the red utility belt and that was basically Izuku's costume in a nutshell. It looked so simple. But its usefulness would be proven later.

"Wow you two look great!" Ochako closed the gap between the two of them.

"Thanks, Ochako. I gotta admit this outfit isn't all that bad." Camilla said. "Is everything about yours like you wanted?"

"Well almost." The space admirer blushed and rubbed the back of her head. "The gear and support items are all great. But this bodysuit is skintight. It's not exactly what I had in my head. Ya know? What do you think, Deku?"

Izuku was very thankful at this time he had chosen to go out with his mask fully on. Because of that, Ochako couldn't make out the heavy amount of red that had washed over his face. He had seen Ochako up close plenty of times and gotten over being so close to her a long time ago. But seeing her like this, in an outfit that showed pretty much the exact shape of her body, the poor boy's mind was about to explode.

"You….you look really nice…Uraraka."

'So very…very…curvy and nice!'

Ochako only tilted her head a bit confused as to why Izuku was sounding so weird but she smiled anyway.

"Thanks! Yours looks great too! The design company really followed your design to the letter huh?"

"Actually…my Mom made it." Izuku admitted.

"….huh?"

Ochako couldn't think of the words. After all the talks they had together, he's wearing something his mother made and not a costume made by a company that specializes in it?

"Yeah. After all that talk you and him gave me, he ends up going with this. Hypocrite." Camilla teased.

"Hey don't say it like that!" Izuku cried. "It's just…"

Izuku told them what happened the day after they celebrated getting into U.A. and helped Camilla with her costume. He had just gotten off the phone with All Might talking about his quirk registration. After learning he could in fact change it due to him now having a quirk, Inko arrived home with a surprise for her son. To Izuku's surprise, his mother had revealed the same green suit he was now wearing freshly completed and made entirely by her own hands. Inko then went on to explain it wasn't just a gift, but it was an apology for sort of giving up on Izuku after he was diagnosed as quirkless. She then vowed that from there on out, she would support him on his way to being a hero.

"So you see, I couldn't just say no after she went through all that trouble. It would be like-Uraraka!"

The boy suddenly staggered back once he saw Ochako's eyes glaze over with a layer of moisture.

"S-sorry that's…that's just so sweet of your mom!"

Quickly wiping her eyes dry, Ochako stood back up straight. Katsuki looked like he was going to be sick after hearing that story. Before any of them could get another word in, they were called over by All Might to rejoin their peers. Once the number one pro got a look at the costume choice of his successor, he quickly brought a hand to his mouth to cover his laughter.

'Be more obvious, young man?!'

Now that they were all together, the lesson could begin in earnest. After regaining his composure, All Might began to truly teach his class.

"Let's get things started!"

But before he could get another word out, one of the students raised his hand.

"Sir, I have a question."

Izuku looked over to the guy who looked like he was dressed in knight's armor and could tell it was Tenya's voice coming out of it.

"This is fake city where our entrance exam took place. Are we going to be fighting against villain robots again?"

"Not this time, young Iida! I'm going to push you two steps ahead! But before we begin, a question for you all! Can any of you tell me where the most difficult fights with villains take place?"

"Uuuhhh isn't it outside? You know with people around?" Eijiro Kirishima asked as he fiddled with the shoulder piece on his costume.

"While that's true and that is a problem, it is incorrect." All Might corrected. "Most of the battles more commonly seen in the media take place outside! But some of the more intense battles with more dangerous villains take place indoors. Think about it, smuggling rings, back room deals, home robberies! The most cunning of villains will stick to the shadows where they are less likely to be seen. And that's what we're going to simulate here today! You all will be split up into teams of two and be assigned a role of either hero or villain! Then we will have a series of two on two battles!"

Tsuyu touched a finger to her chin.

"Sir, isn't that a little advanced? Some of us have no real fight experience."

"Precisely, young Asui. And the best way to get that experience is through actual application of your skills on a battlefield. But be warned. Like I said, this isn't like your entrance exam. You won't have robots for enemies this time. You're going up against actual breathing people!"

Those implications brought about a new wave of nervousness over most of the class. Going up against those faux villain bots were easy in hindsight. Now they had to deal with enemies who could actually feel pain and with quirks they knew next to nothing about.

"Will you be judging who wins and who loses, sir?"

"How much pain can I bring down on these extras?"

"How are you going to split us up? Or are we just going to pick our teammates ourselves?"

"Is there gonna be another threat of expulsion if we fail?"

"Doesn't this cape look fantastique?"

All Might didn't answer any of the questions thrown his way. All he did was reach behind his back and pull out a tiny booklet and open it up. Ochako stifled a giggle when she saw it.

'He needs a script?'

"Now listen up! The situation is this! The villains have hidden a nuclear bomb inside their hideout. The heroes must infiltrate it and foil their plans. There are two ways to accomplish this. The heroes can win by either recovering the bomb or capturing the villains. However, the villains can also win by capturing the heroes or protecting the weapon from being claimed by them! And just to sweeten the pot, each of you won't have a choice of who your partner for this exercise will be! Teams will be chosen solely by drawing random lots!"

All Might then brought out a box filled on the inside with a bunch of balls labeled from letters A-J.

"Are you certain that's the best choice for how we pick teams?" Tenya's voice rang out from under his helmet.

"And since there are twenty one of us, does that mean one of us will sit out?" Momo asked right after.

Izuku was quick to answer Iida's question first.

"Think about it, Iida. Most heroes don't have that choice either. They almost always team up on the fly so maybe that's why we're seeing that here."

The number one pro smiled at how quickly Izuku picked up on that.

"That's absolutely right, young Midoriya. And if I may add onto it, how many heroes you team up with in those situations will never be truly certain. Sometimes you'll get many, while most other times you'll be lucky to get one. So to answer your question, young Yaoyorozu, no one will be sitting out today. One of the battles is going to be three on two."

That got a lot of kids a bit more interested and a bit divided in terms of thought. Some wanted to be in the three on two match in hopes of being on the team that would start out with a numbers advantage. Others feared it out of dread that they could be the ones outnumbered from the start and lose before the match even truly started. Out of all of them, only two hoped that they would be in the uneven fight and on the team with only two at the start in order to prove their power.

"Now then let's not waste time and draw! One at a time, pick your team!"

And so they did, one at a time, each kid in the class stepped up and drew a ball out of the box in All Might's grip. To Izuku and Ochako's surprise and delight those two had both drawn two balls with the letter A. When Katsuki drew his ball, he saw the letter D and hoped whoever he had to be stuck with wouldn't be a pain in the ass to deal with. Fate apparently wasn't on his side because it turned out it was Tenya who had drawn the matching sphere. Tenya himself wasn't really that fond of the draw either.

Then it came Camilla's turn to draw. Holding her hand over the hole, she pulled a ball out with the Force and held it up for All Might to read since she couldn't see the letter herself.

"Team I it is for you, young Sharro."

"Oooh! Sharro over here! You're on my team!"

That was Toru's voice she heard calling her. Looking over, Camilla saw the girl waving her arm and walked over to join her. Looking up and down Toru's body, it didn't really look like there was anything there. The only things she could make out were gloves and shoes. Was she wearing a skintight suit like a lot of the other girls too?

As she watched Camilla gaze up and down her body, Toru suddenly recalled something about this redhead's power that she exhibited during the exam. Even though most of her body couldn't be seen, this girl could see her. She knew where the wound on her arm was when it got broken during the exam after all. Remembering that caused the invisible girl to slide her arms over her chest covering what not even she could see but feel.

The drawing continued until there was only one student left. The boy with the tail, Mashirao Ojiro, was the only one left to pick a team. When his turn came, All Might put only one of each letter back into the box and shook it up for the boy to pick his team. He drew a third letter I. When Toru waved him down, he realized that not only was he on a team with the naked girl, but the blind girl too. This was…not what he was expecting. It wasn't that he was disappointed. It was just awkward. After what happened yesterday and how sour of a mood if left her in, he didn't really know how to start things off with her. He wanted to get off on the right foot with everyone he could and that included the redhead. Maybe he could figure it out before their match started. The team of three had been decided then. Toru, Camilla, and Mashirao were together. Now the only questioned that remained was, who would they be fighting? Hopefully it would be a good matchup.

"Alright! Now that you're all sorted, let's see who will fight first!"

All Might then brought two more boxes. One was labeled "Heroes" and the other "Villains". Placing them at his sides, he stuck his hands through the holes on the top and fished out a ball from each one.

"The first two teams to be fighting are these guys!"

With a dramatic flair Yuga could appreciate, All Might showed the letters plastered on the balls. In one hand was A, and in the other was D.

"Team A will be the heroes and team D will be the villains!"

Team D is the villains? Izuku looked around and remembered almost a moment later just who was on team D. Swallowing nervously, he turned to see Katsuki aiming a glare right at him. At first Izuku flinched and looked away, but after another moment of thought, he let loose a deep breath and aimed a glare of his own right back to his former friend, challenging him. Katsuki faltered for the briefest of moments but regained his look doubled.

"The rest of you can head to the viewing room and watch the match from there. I'll join you shortly. Teams A and D, follow me."

A chorus of "Yes sir." rang from the class and most of the class began to disperse. But before Izuku could move, he felt a hand come down on his shoulder. Turning, he saw the hand was sticking out of a long brown sleeve attached to a Jedi cloak.

"You're not a stone for him." She firmly assured him. "I know you're strong, Ochako and All Might know you're strong. Now go and make sure this day ends with Katsuki knowing that too."

Leave it to Camilla to give him a pep talk after sensing his feelings alone. It was helpful, but it still left him with a heavy load of nervousness. Still, she was right. Izuku had come far. And he wasn't about to trip here. Turning, he flashed the Padawan a smile and a confident nod. She could only see the latter of those two gestures.

"May the Force be with you both." Camilla nodded back.

Katsuki had stopped and watched the little interaction. He couldn't help but hear the redhead's words and it made him audibly growl. With that done though, Izuku turned to rejoin Ochako and Camilla turned to rejoin her classmates en route to the viewing room.

A short walk later and All Might had stopped in front of the building that would be used for this battle trial.

"Team D, enter inside your lair and begin to work out your plan of defending your weapon while Team A waits out here to devise their own to defeat you! You will all have five minutes to do so! When the timer hits zero, the heroes will be unleashed and the battle will truly begin!

"Yes sir." Three out of the four students acknowledged in understanding.

"And young Iida, young Bakugo, remember, the key to this exercise on your part is to embody evil. You must think from the perspective of a true villain. If things end up getting too out of hand, I'll step in and end the fight."

Tenya and Katsuki walked inside without another word and All Might walked over to Izuku and Ochako to hand each of them a map of the building's layout and blueprints. When the two villain team members were out of earshot, All Might leaned down to his successor and his friend.

"May the Force be with you both." The number one pro bid to the two softly.

Ochako smirked.

"You really like saying that, don't you?"

All Might's response was a chuckle.

"It rolls off the tongue well and it's fun to say! Now then! Do your best!"

On that note, All Might took off for the viewing room leaving Izuku and Ochako alone outside. Being around this many empty buildings reminded Ochako a lot of Mandalore Island. Being out there training with Camilla, feeling her muscles burn and twist as her body got used to the movements of a sword fighter, her hope today was to show that all that work had been worth it. She affectionately traced her fingers over the hilt of her own "sabers" with a smile on her face. Ochako thanked Camilla time and time again for the new skill set, but it never felt like enough. She would thank her again right here by showing off what she could do. As she patted her chest where her scrap metal necklace rested, she looked over to Izuku.

"You still wear your space metal necklace, Deku?"

"I never take it off." Izuku patted his own chest where his pendent hung. "Why do you ask?"

"Just….thinking is all." Ochako replied. "Camilla did so much for me with her and the holocrons' training. I just….I hope I can really show her and everyone else here how good I am."

"Well you'll show everyone except Camilla." Izuku flatly stated. "If everyone is watching us through a screen, then she won't be able to see us fight."

Ochako's eyes widened as it suddenly came back to her that their powerful Jedi friend could only make out a TV screen's shape with her Force vision. She couldn't see the images on said screen.

"Oooohhh….crap I forgot about that." Ochako slumped. "We've known her for close to a year. How do I keep forgetting she's blind?"

"That's…not really what we should be focusing right now, Uraraka."

Ochako didn't need to be Force sensitive to sense the unease in Izuku's voice as he said that. The boy was staring intently on the map in front of him trying the best he could to formulate a plan. The rosy cheeked brunette could easily guess why as she recalled who they were up against.

"Right…Bakugo." She murmured.

This wasn't just going to be a training exercise now. For Izuku and Katsuki, this was going to be a full on grudge match. Ochako was sure of it.

"We can beat him if we work together." The brunette optimistically said. "Right?"

"It's a possibility, however small." Izuku replied still focusing on the building maps. "But knowing Kacchan, he'll probably just come after me right from the start. He won't even bother with you unless you give him a reason to."

Ochako wasn't really sure how to take that. On one hand it sounded like an advantage. If Katsuki was going to be so fixated on Izuku then that means she was in the clear to go after Tenya on her own. Then again, to not even be considered a viable threat by someone because of their tunnel vision was a bit insulting.

"Should I give him a reason to?" Ochako wondered out loud.

Izuku brought a hand to his chin trying to think as best as he could on what lied ahead of them. It wasn't going to be easy. Even if it weren't Katsuki he was up against, he and Ochako were at a disadvantage.

"Since I don't know how to control One For All yet, whenever I use it, I hurt myself. You know this. So right now, I think the most efficient thing we can do is use you as much as possible, but not against Kacchan. Thanks to your swordsmanship training and your quirk, that gives us enough to work with."

It wasn't much of one, but Izuku told Ochako about his plan during the remaining time they had to prepare. By the end of his explanation, Ochako was left feeling very unsure about that idea he just laid out to her. On paper, it sounded at least a little rational. But adding in Katsuki Bakugo to that equation took that rationality away so quick.

"Five minutes are up! Heroes, you are clear to enter the building!"

There was nothing that could be done about it now. The clock was already ticking and they couldn't waste a second. As Izuku turned to walk to the other side of the building, Ochako remained in place while her eyes locked on her friend, filled with worry. She knew getting the handle on a superpower wasn't easy. Far from it. But going into this fight with the idea to use it as little as possible, it almost felt like Izuku was just asking to get hurt. And she didn't want to see him hurt again. Yet again, all she could do was hope for the best, but that was kind of hard given the circumstances. She put her helmet and visor back on, and took off after Izuku.

"Ooooh I have a bad feeling about this."

Up on the fifth floor, Tenya and Katsuki had walked the entire way to where the bomb was without a word. Katsuki was mulling things over while Tenya was merely hoping for a shred of cooperation from the boy who apparently is used to belittling the others around him. When they reached the room with the fake bomb inside, Tenya approached the mock weapon and inspected it.

"Obviously it's fake. U.A. may be the top but even they won't let students near an actual armed bomb."

"Hey."

Surprised, Tenya turned to Katsuki. So he was talking. That was a good sign.

"Do you really think Deku has a quirk? That he truly got in on his own?"

Great. All he was talking about wasn't related to class at all. It was about his issues with Izuku.

"Of course he got in on his own. I was there. I saw him use a piece of a broken villain bot to get himself some points. It wasn't much but he more than made up with it with his rescue points. He earned his spot same as us. That alone proves he has a quirk. We all saw his softball throw after all. But why is this such an issue for you?"

Again he got no answer. Katsuki just stood in his place grinding his teeth together while he mulled over those words. Then more of No-eye's words from last night came back to him.

"Izuku's path is his to determine. Not yours, not mine, not anyone else's. His and his alone."

He began to tremble in place out of his rage.

"Is it cold in here?" Tenya wondered if that's what the shaking was for.

Ignoring him, the explosive blonde boy just stood in place letting his anger grow.

'Deku and No-eyes. Both of you are up to something. And I'm willing to bet Round Face is in on it too. We're the three of you really just tricking me? Pretending to be weak and having a laugh behind my back?! Whatever the reason, all three of you can be sure of this! Deku is getting roasted today! Like it or not!'

He still wasn't convinced what Camilla told him last night was true. There was definitely something being kept from him whether it was about Deku or herself, but he had a new mission today. That mission: Beat the crap out of Deku and remind him through pain where he stands. With any amount of lucky, that will break him out of whatever mind voodoo No-eyes put on him.

"Five minutes are up! Heroes, you are clear to enter the building!"

"And we still need to think of a plan." Tenya realized. "Bakugo, I think we should utilize your-"

"You want a plan? Here it is. You protect the bomb while I go out there and turn those extras to ash!"

Katsuki dashed out the door leaving Tenya alone while ignoring his cries for him to come back.

"What?! Bakugo, that isn't a plan!"

It was futile and he knew it. Katsuki was already well out of earshot by now or just didn't care. It vexed Tenya to no end. This guy was stubborn and cared only about winning rather than real cooperation. If this was a team exercise than failure to show that cooperation would be a hindrance on their grades. Now Tenya was left with a choice. He could go after Katsuki and try to rein in some of his anger so they could work together, which would more than likely result at the explosion user lashing out at him. Or choice number two, he could stay there as he was told and try to salvage this situation the best he could.

Putting his helmet on, he opted for choice two and began to speedily clean the room he was in.

Over in the viewing room, the students had gathered together in front of an array of screens on the wall in front of them. For the most part, each of them stuck to the person or persons they were on teams with to converse with each other about possible strategies during their mock battle. Toru and Mashirao weren't talking yet. More they were thinking. As they stood next to the blind girl who was part of their team, neither of them was really sure how to start a conversation with her. They did kind of mess up with her yesterday. While Aizawa may have been the one to force Camilla into taking her glasses off and revealing her condition, their reaction to finding out about it wasn't a help.

Toru especially was a bundle of confusion. She had known about it since the entrance exam yet she thought afterwards it was just the pain of her broken arm at the time causing her mind to see things. Turns out, that wasn't it at all. But she felt like she had to do something. Out of all of them yesterday, only two managed to clear the air between them and that was Mina and Tenya. Clenching her fists and letting out a nervous breath, she took a couple steps and stood in front of the robed girl.

"I'm sorry about yesterday." She said.

Mashirao was watching and listening closely now to Toru's words. Camilla on the other hand shifted from seemingly disinterested in everything else going on around her, to pointing her lifeless eyes right into where she assumed Toru's were. Through her limited vision, she could see Toru's shape right in front of her and her head of what she assumed was quite messy hair.

"You don't have to apologize, Toru. It wasn't yours or anyone else's fault."

She sounded sincere but Toru still didn't feel like it was.

"Still though, the rest of us could have been a little cooler with…ya know."

The floating gloves gestured to Camilla's face. Something which the redhead herself sighed about. At least this girl was admitting she didn't handle the situation as well as she could have.

"Look, I get it. Alright? You didn't expect me to be blind. It's fine. Really it is. People have treating me like that my whole life. I'm used to it."

"That doesn't make it OK." Toru firmly stated. "Can we just…you know….start over? On the right foot this time?"

Recalling once more back to her vision, Camilla found that forgiving this girl was rather easy. One because the Force was leading them together, for some reason. And two, she did legit sound and feel regretful of her actions yesterday.

"Yeah, alright. I can do that."

"Think maybe you could do that for two of us?"

Upon hearing the tailed boy's voice, both the girls turned their heads to look at him. Only Toru could make out his nervous face while the Padawan sensed his anxious feelings.

"I'm really sorry if I offended you. I swear I didn't mean to. It's just…surprising is all."

"I feel the same."

Once again a new voice rang out as the tall boy with the multiple arms on his body walked over and joined Mashirao at his side.

"We're all here to be heroes right? We shouldn't act like that to one another. I'm Mezo Shoji."

While a mouth at the end of one arm talked, the other arm with a hand on the end was extended out to her. A bit shakily, Mashirao joined him and held out his hand in front of Camilla too.

"My name is Mashirao Ojiro. It's nice to meet you."

That made three people willing to admit their faults. That wasn't a bad start to hero class. Shrugging, Camilla slapped her hands with Mezo's and Mashirao's and shook them.

"Camilla Sharro. Likewi-"

The feeling of skin against her hand vanished along with everything else as the void of her vision overtook her senses once more. In the crowd of gassy balls mixed with people with shape, two of the other fog masses began to reform and take shape. One carried with it a plain white light similar to Toru's while the other was a sky blue colored one. Simultaneously they changed together to form the shapes of Mezo with the blue light and Mashirao with the other white light. Once their shapes resembled the very ones that currently stood in front of her in reality, both of them raised a hand each up to Camilla for her to take.

A small head rush later, and Camilla could feel her feet back on solid ground. To the three classmates in front of her, for a couple moments as the handshake happened, it looked like the blind girl had just shuddered.

"Are you alright?" Mezo asked.

"Do you need some water or anything?" Mashirao offered.

"Hey you did that same thing with Tsu yesterday." Toru pointed out. "What's going on with you?"

"N-nothing. It's nothing I can assure you." The Jedi quickly replied to all of them. "Just uh…grateful. I'm grateful that you apologized is all."

As they kids let go of each other, Mezo and Mashirao shared a look with each other and passed the same one to Toru. All three of them shrugged and decided to leave it at that. Mashirao felt a lot better knowing now he was on a good start with his two teammates.

"Alright then children! Let's begin!"

More thoughts were put on the backburner as the symbol of peace strode into the room with that smile of his never wavering. He stood in front of the plethora of screens on the nearby wall and held a small microphone up to his face.

"I want each and every one of you to pay close attention to these battles. Watching different people utilize different styles of fighting can help you both in the now and the future."

His head turned down to look at a certain Jedi knowing what he was asking was out of her abilities.

"Young Sharro, I shall try to do my best to describe to you what is happening."

"Appreciated, but unnecessary, All Might."

Taking in a breath through her nose, Camilla closed her eyes and focused her mind, allowing her senses to stretch out far beyond the width of this room they were in.

"I have my own way of seeing this fight."

While she wouldn't be able to watch with the same clarity as the others around her, constantly gauging the four combatants' feelings would give her quite the mental image of what was happening. Remembering she could do that, All Might's smile widened. Having Camilla there to sense the feelings of others during the fights she wasn't in would be very helpful. What heroics teacher wouldn't teach their students the importance about being clearheaded on the battlefield?

"Very well then!"

As a few more seconds passed, All Might turned to the screens and held the mic up to his mouth.

"Five minutes are up! Heroes, you are clear to enter the building!"

Just like that, a timer with fifteen minutes on the clock began to count backwards. The first real heroics class was officially underway with this battle.

'I may be rooting for you as your predecessor, Young Midoriya. But as your teacher I must remain unbiased. I will grade you like I would anyone else. Whatever flaws I see in you and young Uraraka, I will point them out.'

The class was already hyped as hell to see the first battle trial really begin. They were hoping for a fight. One of them however, the young Padawan, she was already fearing one was inevitable in Izuku's case. From where she stood, she could sense the emotions of the four people currently in the middle of their exercise. Ochako, Izuku, and Tenya were all doing as best they could to keep a level head. Tenya was more on the frustrated side of things however. She could guess it was probably due to having Katsuki for his partner. They weren't that happy when they found out they were a team. Katsuki however, she could easily sense his burning rage even when she wasn't trying to. Now that she was, it felt just as intense as it was last night on her doorstep. Now he was here in a battle simulation where he was expected to unload his full power onto Izuku.

'Izuku, Ochako…please be careful.'
