Chapter 2

It has been a few days since Chika's act in spreading on the news about what happened between Nepgear and the other CPUs whilst also declaring war against Nepgear, The state of gamindustri has become more unstable with constant variety of complaints, riots, rumors and superstition towards Nepgear.

Since Leanbox is in a war state against Nepgear, she had to check if Lastation and Lowee were on the same page. To her surprise, both were neutral, neither taking sides and would rather deal with their own country. Alas, some of the citizens from the two countries were also in similar feelings as Leanbox citizens and Chika.

"I trust that you both can handle the task of the citizens' problems and such?" Nepgear asked both Chika and Kei on the Nepvid Group call in her Work Room with her same attire as before.

"If it's about that then you can leave it to us" Mina replied, she was wearing her short white dress under a red long jacket-like robe worn open with golden linings and buttons

"But we won't help you or Chika either between this war" Kei continued, for her attire, she was wearing a black suit-like outfit with a blue tie and black shorts. "We simply cannot risk our people in it"

Nepgear sighed at that but it was understandable, 'at least there would be less casualties', She thought to herself, knew that she would have to fight Chika and Leanbox sooner or later. It was only a matter of time and she wouldn't want any more unnecessary deaths.

"What of Cave and 5pb? Are they also the same as Chika?" Nepgear asked further because she was curious with what they are doing right now, though Nepgear had a guess on what they were doing.

"Sadly the two of them are also in cahoots with Chika since they share the same sentiment with her" Said Kei as if she was reading Nepgear's mind.

"I suspected as much," Nepgear grimaced, "Guess I have to deal with more than just Chika".

"At least the monsters are not so violent these days" Mina continued "And because of that, we can handle more important things that are happening right now".

"Yeah, you're right," Nepgear said. She had already dealt with a lot of monster problems in the past, though it tires her immensely.

"Anyway, thank you for attending this meeting. I hope that this problem will be over soon, Good bye" Nepgear ended the call as she finished speaking.

She then rested her head on the desk while letting out a big sigh, 'Hah… even with the monster activity having become lesser, it didn't make me more relaxed'. Nepgear wished that the people's problems were the ones in the least of her worries. She had already done her hardest to appease them, but it was in vain since it has increased more than it was initially.

As she rested for a while, Histoire then came in a rush to her room that made Nepgear lift her head up from the desk.

"Nepgear, we got trouble!" Histoire spoke.

"What is now Histoire? if it's about the riots let IF and the other security group" Nepgear replied.

"Thing is, IF got shot by one of the rioters" .

Nepgear was shocked to hear that making the fairy book flinched a little, and then she continued.

"Don't worry about IF, the wound wasn't too critical but it still needs to be tended so Compa is treating her right now" .

"Thank goodness, now tell me where are th-"

"BOOM!" Suddenly there was an explosion and it was smoking on one of the buildings.

"Right there" Histoire said while pointing at the smoking building, specifically it was a certain building that Nepgear recognized.

"Are they freaking kidding me?! That's the console store!" Nepgear growled as she ran to Veranda and then jumped leading to her change into her HDD form flying towards the store.

"Nepgear…" mumbled Histoire as she saw her flying to the scene.

When Nepgear got close to the chaotic scene, she saw some group consisting of around twenty people shouting negative things to Nepgear. It was mostly about her being a demon rather than a goddess, chantings for her death, and so on.

'Is this the people I have to protect? the same people that just forgets what i have done for their sake? REALLY?!'. As soon as her thoughts were done, she immediately knocked out the rioting people using her bare hands in an angry and brutal way while dodging and taking a few hits from their bullets with ease. Leaving painful damage, visible bruises, and some broken bones to the people that riot.

Nepgear then turned to the crowds that were watching, their faces were filled with fear and cowardly expression.

"Let this be a warning for those who disturb the peace, if any one of you do so…..this will happen to those who do so".

She then turned back again to the people that got hurt by her, looking at them with an angry and disgusted face.

"And if I see ANY OF YOU doing things like this AGAIN! I will not hesitate to further my actions in making an example of you lot that would lead to public execution! IS THAT CLEAR?!"

The people couldn't reply with words, especially since they were hurt very badly by Nepgear. But they all did a slight nod to her, meaning that they got her warning.

"Good" Nepgear spoke with their submission, she then called for the medic and the security team "Have the subdued people to be taken care of in the hospital while keeping an eye on them. Also clear this area so that the repair team can fix this….mess" She looked back at the mess she and they made.

'Least i can financially recover from this" She thought to herself, from the looks of it the damage wasn't too severe enough since the building was still intact. Nepgear then thinks this is just another random rioting but with a bit more than the small ones.

When the team she called finally arrived she pointed out which one is the subdued people and the ones that are not, which was easy since the damage was literally visible at first glance.

Nepgear then flew back to the Neptower to get back to her work.

Histoire were worried sick to few things, first it was about Nepgear being extremely violent in dealing with the riots that she had seen from the Nepdrone recordings, second it was about Nepgear's warning that got Histoire shivering, and the third was that they would have to use some money to repair the damage that happened for both buildings and the people.

While Histoire was worrying about those problems, she saw Nepgear flying down to the Veranda and went inside the Tower after transforming back to her human form.

Usually she would not hesitate to caress the Sole Goddess, but after what she had done to the people Histoire hesitated a bit. She then approached Nepgear in her attempt to give her some calming headpats and a hug.

"Dea-"

"UNGRATEFUL PIECE OF SHITS!" Nepgear yelled in rage while slamming her work desk with clenched fists, making the little fairy stop and scared. Almost as if Blanc was here with her usual words that are not befitting of a goddess.

Somehow the desk was still intact.

"Couldn't they just calm down and think this through? They literally set a building on fire AND shot someone, especially IF is the one that got shot! Maybe I should demonstrate a public execution to the people if they keep doing this" Said Nepgear with a slight grin and with a look of someone who had an idea.

Although this was a horrifying idea.

"NO, That is madness!" Histoire shouted from her tiny mouth "To even go to the lengths of such an idea….Neptune wouldn't….." She trailed off as she saw Nepgear glaring at her.

"NEPTUNE IS DEAD!" Nepgear yelled back at her. As she realized who she was yelling at while panting, she took a deep inhale and then exhaled them all making her feel more calm. "Goodness, I-I'm sorry, It's just that with all these problems had risen even further I had to get it all out. Not to mention Leanbox that may attack anytime soon".

"...Don't worry….I understand…even as a CPU there are things that can be done alone, but I sincerely ask you to not think of something like that and also not do something so violent like what you did recently."

Nepgear let out a big sigh and nodded "I get it, I hoped that I wouldn't be like that again" She regretted what she did to the rioters, she thought to herself that she should have done something that doesn't involve violence.

But part of her didn't regret it at all, 'They did cause problems here'.

"Anyway, there is some paperworks that needs to be done. But I'll do them all, meanwhile you take rest dear" .

"Thanks Histoire, appreciate it" Nepgear said as she walked towards her bedroom.

Histoire sighed and looked outside through the window, she could feel the anger and the fear from the people. It affected her a bit but she shrugged it off, then she hovered to Nepgear's work desk and started finishing the current paperwork until it was almost night.

When Nepgear had entered her bedroom, she quickly flopped onto the bed wanting to sleep. She didn't even think about her CPU friends that night, mainly because she was extremely tired both physically and mentally.

But what she did think about is whatever Chika and Leanbox were doing, Nepgear had tried to call her to talk things out or negotiate at least.

It didn't make Nepgear calm as her attempt to call Chika was in vain since she did not get any response. After all that, she waited for Chika to call her instead.

There are two main possibilities that would happen when Chika would call her after so long, one is that Chika wants to apologize but still doesn't accept Nepgear. If it was that she would be okay with and let Chika take her time so she can also apologize to her.

The other possibility was the day of her battle between Chika and Leanbox, she had hoped the first possibility would happen instead of the latter.

After a while, Nepgear had finally slept, readying herself for tomorrow.

Few days later

Nepgear was working at her work desk alone while Histoire was doing her own task somewhere else.

"BEEP BEEP!"

She stopped what she was doing as she heard a beeping sound on one of her channels and quickly approached it. When Nepgear arrived, she pressed the button to turn up the call she was getting. As soon as she was online, she saw Chika on the screen with the same disgusted face and glaring eyes towards her.

"Hello Goddess".

"H-hi Chika..".

"Lemme cut to the chase, It's time for us to settle the score or as in this case, settle this war" Stated Chika, she then continued "Prepare yourself and you army and go to this place, southwest from Planeptune. I'll be waiting…"

The channel was terminated.

'In the end, she chose to fight huh' Nepgear thought, she then spoke up "FINE!, if war and death she wants then she will get it!".

While she had said that, her hands had clenched into fists with her face showing anger. It is time for Nepgear to show them who they are messing with once and for all.

Little did Nepgear know that she had to face something that had been prepared for her, that even she couldn't handle it…..
