Chapter 145 Clone Rescue

At the Peace Protectors's base, Weiss was showing Slippy, Momo, and William the letter she got from Dimentio.
"According to the letter there are a few clones like me and Eria, who refuse to follow Sylvester's orders. Sylvester plans to kill them very soon and I need your help to rescue them." Explained Weiss.
"You can count on u, though we're going to need some extra help since Gearga and Drake aren't with us." Said Slippy as he went to make some calls.
Slippy called Marceline's house and explained the situation. Marceline agreed to help and she showed up at the base with Lance, Henry, and Lucinda. The assembled team decided to head towards the lab on foot avoid detection from the lab's defense system. The mission was on.
Meanwhile at the secret lair, Samantha was in her room, when she heard a knock at her door. The cyborg went to answer it and saw Nyx and Ying at her door.
"Just came by to welcome you Sammy!" Said Nyx with a big grin as she offered Samantha her hand.
Samantha took it and felt a slight jolt from a joy buzzer. The electric shock would have made a normal person shout with surprise, but it had very little affect on Samantha. The cyborg decided to unleash a shock of her own into Nyx. The witch let out a startled yelp as the shock went through her body and her hair stood up. Nyx felt her hair with her hands and then she burst out laughing.
"That's was awesome! You really got me good!" Said Nyx.
"Yeah I did." Said Samantha with a smirk as she was fixing to turn around and head back into her room.
"Wait!" Said Nyx.
"Yeah?" Said Samantha as she turned to face the witch.
"I was wondering if you wanted to hangout or...something. Your new so how about I give you a grand tour of Ooo?" Said Nyx.
"Sure sounds cool." Said Samantha.
"Awesome!" Cheered Nyx.
Nyx then used her powers to teleport herself, Ying, and Samantha outside the lair.
In another part of the lair, Crimson and Demongo were kneeling before the Lich in his throne room.
"What is it that you need me for master?" Asked Demongo.
"We're going to pay a visit to an old friend. I think his essence will make a nice addition to your soul collection and I have a special use for his body." Said the Lich.
"Will this forward the plan?" Asked Crimson.
"It will. You see I'm going to get under the heroes's skin, both metaphorically and literally." Said the Lich with a chuckle as he stood up from his throne.
The three villains then vanished in a flash of light.
Miles away at the cloning lab, Sylvester, Kim, XANGIS, and Luceline were standing behind a window that overlooked the battle arena. Inside the arena several clones were fighting to the death. One clone in particular was going on a killing spree. The clone in question was a humanoid skeletal creature with the head and wings of a fly. The creature was dressed in a black cloak and carried a scythe that it used to slice other clones to bits. A clone that had the body of a bear and the head of Drake charged at the bug clone and swiped it's claws at it, but the claws harmlessly went through the clone, as if it was a ghost. The bug clone swung, it's scythe and the big clone was sliced in half. Soon all the clones in the room were dead, except for the bug clone.
"I like this new guy." Said Luceline.
"Yes we call him Wraith and he has some other useful abilities." Said Sylvester with a crocked smile.
Wraith raised his arms up and a swarm of insects came out of his cloak and began covering the bodies of dead clones. In a few seconds the insects flew back to Wraith and all that remained of the dead clones were bones.
"He cleans to. Very impressive." Said Luceline.
"So how are you doing after the surgery?" Asked Kim.
"Oh I'm doing better. I feel stronger and thanks to the demonic wishing eyes in my heart I discovered I have the ability to suck the souls out of others to increase my power. I tested it out on a bunch of bugs, a few hermits, and a couple of monsters." Said Kim.
"Fascinating. It appears your demon half has those abilities. Marceline must have them to." Said Sylvester.
"I guess so, but she's to much of a goody goody to use something like that." Said Luceline.
A door to the arena opened up and Wraith joined the group.
"Congratulations Wraith, you survived the trail. You are now a member of Pyro's team." Said Sylvester.
"Thank you master I shall serve them well." Said Wraith as he bowed.
"Speaking of clones whatever happened to those four disobedient clones you had?" Asked Luceline.
"Oh I'm going to have them destroyed. There's no place in the organization for trash like them." Said Sylvester.
It was then that a bunch of alarms began to go off in the facility.
"We have intruders at the front gate, they've already busted through and are engaging our security forces." Said XANGIS as he summoned a hovering video monitor.
On the monitor several iron owls, crystal ants, and spartois were fighting the Peace Protectors, Weiss, and Marceline's group.
"Blast! That miserable subject 118, has lead a bunch of heroes to our doorstep!" Snarled Sylvester.
"I estimate it will take them twenty minutes and sixteen seconds to eliminate the security forces and breach the inner sanctum of the facility." Said XANGIS.
"Drat! Will need to get Hive out of here, his not ready to be released yet." Said Sylvester.
"Why not send us to deal with them. I'm pretty sure I'm more then a match for most of those guys and with Wraith and the tin man, here to back me up, will totally destroy them." Said Luceline.
"As tempting as that is, we need to focus on getting Hive out of here and destroying all the files in the facility." Said Sylvester.
"Don't you worry about the intruders sir. I'll deal with them. The Mother Varmint has finished laying all her nest underneath Ooo and she's in need for a bit of nourishment." Said Kim.
"Excellent. You have my permission to unleash her on the intruders." Said Sylvester.
Kim bowed and ran off to fetch the Mother Varmint. Sylvester lead the others to an elevator and they went down to where Hive was kept. XANGIS touched the containment tank and used his abilities to make the machine mobile and he put a teleport device on it. The rest of villains gathered around the device and they were all teleported away.
Elsewhere, Nyx and Samantha were sitting on the back of a giant size Ying as he flew above Ooo. Nyx was pointing at the various kingdoms and landmarks telling Samantha what they were and everything, she knew about them. The little group soon arrived at Castle Lemongrab, which Nyx declared was the funnest place in Ooo. Ying returned to his normal size to sit on Nyx's shoulder and the group went inside. Samantha was a bit surprised to see the carnival, but she decided she was going to enjoy it. The group went about looking at all the attractions and a few people cast Samantha a curious look, but went about their business. Nyx would every now and then cast a little hex spell at a random person, which caused some people to trip, some to stain their clothes with condiments, and started a big food fight between a group of hooligans and another group that appeared to be monkeys dressed as ninjas.
"So I take it your some kind of witch?" Asked Samantha as she watched a monkey smash a cake into a hooligan's face.
"Yep I'm a witch. Are you a witch Sammy?" Asked Nyx.
"No I'm not. I'm a cyborg." Said Samantha.
"What's that?" Asked Nyx.
"It's someone whose part organic and part machine." Explained Samantha.
Nyx still looked confused, so Samantha decided to demonstrate. Samantha made sure no one was paying close attention to her and Nyx and then she raised her right hand up for Nyx to see. The cyborg careful shifted the syntactic skin and muscle on her hand to reveal the machinery underneath it. Nyx starred at the metal hand in awe and wonder. Ying also looked at the hand amazed. Samantha carefully put the syntactic muscle and skin back covering the metal.
"That's super cool! Are you strong to?" Said Nyx.
"Yeah I'm pretty strong." Said Samantha as she saw a high striker game with a mallet.
Samantha headed over to the game and took the mallet with one hand. Then she swung it and struck the lever sending the pallet zooming up to the bell. The pallet struck the bell with a thunderous clang and the bell went flying up into the air and into the sky. Nyx, Ying, and the candy criminal running the game starred at Samantha with amazement. Samantha turned to the candy criminal and pointed at a large stuffed animal behind him. The candy criminal grabbed the stuffed animal and handed it to Samantha. The cyborg then handed the stuffed animal to Nyx, who squealed with delight. The little group went on to see what else there was to do.
Back at the cloning lab, the heroes had just finished off the security forces and we're moving deeper into the facility. The group came across an office with a computer. Slippy and William went over to the computer and tried to see if they could get any useful information out of it.
"Got anything?" Asked Lance.
"No, apparently they deleted all the files about what they were doing here and what they had planned." Said Slippy.
"I did manage to get a blueprint of the facility and locate the room where the clones were looking for are." Said William.
It was then that a bunch of varmints came racing down the hallway and towards the office to attack the heroes. The group battered the crazed creatures away, but more just kept coming.
"Do you have the location of the clones and the blueprints of this place downloaded?" Asked Momo as she blasted some varmints with her blaster.
"Affirmative." Said William.
"Then take Weiss and go get them. The rest of us will deal with these varmints." Said Momo.
"Understood." Said William as he deployed his laser arm and took down a wave of varmints.
The android headed to the left and waved for Weiss to follow him. The other heroes headed out of the office to deal with another group of varmints.
"Ah I see my pets have found you." Said Kim's voice over the intercom.
"Come out and fight!" Yelled Marceline.
"Oh I'm not going to fight you, my extra special pet will. Just head down the hallway and you'll see." Said Kim.
"What should we do?" Asked Henry.
"We need to take care of whatever this creature is. My guess is it's the source of the other creatures." Said Momo.
"Well let's get to it then." Said Lucinda.
The heroes headed down the hallway.
Elsewhere, William was leading Weiss down a different hallway, until they reached a the cell with the clones in it. William opened the door and Weiss peered inside at the clones. There were four clones in the cell. There was a clone that looked like Marceline, with blue hair and skin, with webbed hands and feet, a black furred rabbit man, a clone that resembled Jake with mixes of fire wolf DNA and dragon wings, and a tall wooden skeleton creature with an afro made out of leaves.
"Who are you?" Asked the rabbit man.
"I'm subject 118, though I go by the name Weiss now. That's William and were here to rescue you." Said Weiss.
The clones looked at one another and then back at Weiss.
"Your one of the two that escaped." Said the blue Marceline clone.
"I am. Now why don't you tell me your names and I mean your names not your numbers." Said Weiss.
"Like you we rejected our numbers. I am Usagi." Said the rabbit man with a bow.
"You can call me Circe." Said the Marceline clone.
"I am Broot." Said the wooden skeleton.
"Nice to meet you." Said Weiss.
"I am Broot." Said Broot.
"Is he ok?" Asked Weiss.
"That's all he can say, though I can tell what his really saying. The names Sprocket." Said the canine clone.
"Well it's nice to meet you, now let's met up with the others and get out of here." Said Weiss.
The heroes and escapees headed down a hallway looking for the others.
Momo and her group fought their way through a bunch of varmints and entered a large arena like room, where they saw several more of the monsters along with the Mother Varmint.
"Whoa! That things all kinds of ugly." Said Lucinda.
"Behold the bearer of your destruction. The Mother Varmint!" Said Kim as she appeared standing a few stories up behind a window, with AMO and Shark by her side.
"I don't see what's so special about this thing. It's just uglier then the other creatures we fought." Said Henry.
"Oh you'll see soon enough." Said Kim.
The varmints charged at the heroes and they all used their weapons to smash the creatures to bits. Marceline sliced a couple of varmints to bits and flew at the Mother Varmint. The big monster swung one of it's arms at the vampire, but she dodged out of the way and sliced the arm off! The Mother Varmint roared in pain as Marceline flew underneath it and sliced a few more of it's arms off causing the monster to fall to the ground. Marcline grinned with satisfaction, but then she watched in shock as the Mother Varmint's limbs began to grow back and it stood back up to face the vampire. The Mother Varmint swung one of it's arms and sent Marceline crashing into a wall with a tremendous thud. Marceline groaned in pain as the Mother Varmint charged at her. Just when the beast was about to pounce, Lucinda dropped in front of Marceline, changed into her werewolf form, and slammed a big hairy fist into the Mother Varmint knocking her away. Lucinda changed back into her normal form and helped Marceline up. Lance and Henry began to blast the Mother Varmint with their elemental powers, while Momo and Slippy blasted it with their blasters. After a few minutes they stopped. The Mother Varmint laid on the ground with most of it's limbs missing and a few holes in it's body.
"Yeah that'll show you." Said Henry.
The Mother Varmint's body began to shake as the holes in it's body closed up and it's arms grew back. The monster stood up let out a roar and began to shoot eggs out of it's tail, which hatched and turned into varmints.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Shouted Lance as the newly hatched varmints began to attack.
"We need a way to take down the big one!" Shouted Momo as shblasted a few varmints.
The Mother Varmint was fixing to attack, when a laser blast shot forward and sliced it's front arms off knocking it to the ground. William came charging in with Weiss and the freed prisoners and they charged at the Mother Varmint. The monster's front arms grew back and it tried to snap at William with it's teeth, but he leaped over the snapping jaws and swung his sword at the Mother Varmint's tail chopping a good deal of it off and making it screech in pain. Circe charged at the monster and opened her mouth and unleashed a high scream of solid sound that slammed into the Mother Varmint knocking some of it's teeth out and knocking the monster onto it's back. Usagi then leaped onto the monster's belly and began to deliver several lighting fast punches to the beast's belly making it scream in pain and green liquid shoot out of it's mouth. The Mother Varmint swiped at Usagi forcing him to retreat from the beast's belly. The monster rolled back onto it's arms and charged at it's attackers with a murderous rage. Weiss fired a few of her ice feathers and hit the Mother Varmint in the head, but that only seemed to enrage it. The Mother Varmint saw Sprocket and chomped it's jaws on the clone, seemly eating it in one bite. The monster's body began to glow a faint red and then the air was filled with a burning smell. The Mother Varmint opened it's mouth and spat Sprocket out as it weakly stumbled back.
"I'm never doing that agin!" Said Sprocket as he wiped some green slime from his fur.
The Mother Varmint was a sorry sight, that was just barely alive. It's tail had grown back, but the rest of it's body was in sorry shape. Sprocket had burned the monster's insides and weakened it. The Mother Varmint was trying to get away so it could heal itself, but Broot suddenly appeared in front of the retreating monster and delivered a powerful punch to the creature's jaw knocking more of it's teeth out. The Mother Varmint fell to the ground and Broot grabbed it by the tail and began to spin it around. Faster and faster Broot swung.
"Send that creep packing Broot!" Yelled Sprocket.
"I AM BROOT!" Roared Broot as he flung the Mother Varmint up towards the window that Kim, AMO, and Shark were standing behind.
The three villains screamed as they dove to the floor, just barely avoiding being crushed by the Mother Varmint. Kim stood up to stare at the Mother Varmint who just laid on the ground unmoving, with a few of it's arms missing. The Mother Varmint was dead. Kim decided that it was time to leave and she and her companions quickly teleported out of the lab.
The heroes cheered and went to go meet the freed clones and thank them for their help. Introductions were made and the group decided to head to the Peace Protectors's base. Circe had to change into a tiny blue bat and hide in Broot's afro because the sun was up. The group made it to the base and Marceline called Simon to whip up a sun protection amulet for Circe. Marceline went to the Ice Kingdom and picked up the amulet to give to Circe. The clones we're thankful to their rescuers and Slippy offered them jobs and a place to stay. Usagi and the others accepted the offer and Weiss also became an official member of the Peace Protectors. The heroes soon left to return to their homes, happy that they beat evil agin and recused some good people.
At the secret lair, Nyx, Samantha, and Ying returned with a few stuffed animals, a couple pair of sunglasses, and some hats they won at Castle Lemongrab.
"Man that was awesome Sammy! You totally rule!" Said Nyx.
"You didn't do to bad yourself." Said Samantha.
"Thanks. I really liked hanging with you." Said Nyx with a big smile on her face.
"I enjoyed hanging with you to." Said Samantha.
"We'll catch you later Sammy." Said Nyx as she and Ying went back to their room.
"Later." Said Samantha as she went into her room.
Miles away at Billy's Cave, the great hero Billy was looking at an old photo album that showed old pictures of Billy in his younger days with Canyon and his magical dog sidekick. Billy turned the page and saw a picture of himself clobbering the Lich.
"You know I kind of miss the old days. I wish could go back with what I know now and do some more good with my knowledge. Maybe fix things with Canyon." Said Billy as he looked at the skeleton of his dog.
The dog of course didn't respond.
"I mean we're still good friends and all, but we used to be real close. I guess I lost my edge, since I retired." Said Billy.

"Well I'm happy to know that's there's still heroes out there. That Finn kid is really going to go far and I think he'll one day surpass me." Said Billy with a smile.
There was a faint gust of wind that made the hairs on the back of Billy's neck stick up as he sensed the presence of others in his cave. The hero grabbed his sword Nothung and faced the intruders.
"Hello Billy. It's been a long time." Said the Lich.
"Lich. I see you've come seeking revenge and you brought a couple of your flunkies." Said Billy as he tightened his grip on, his sword.
"Revenge is just a bonus as to why I'm here. I have big plans Billy that involve this universe and many others. Your just a small part of them and soon your body and soul will belong to me." Said the Lich.
"Will see about that!" Said Billy as he charged forward.
There was the sound of a sword being swung followed by a few fiery explosions that lit up the cave. This went on for several minutes, followed by a dying scream, the sound of a body hitting the ground, and then the evil laughter of the Lich. Evil had claimed the life of a hero and an evil plan was soon to be put in motion.
