Chapter 148 Local Encounters Part 1

Marceline and her group arrived at Gravity Falls and entered the town. A few towns folk glanced at the newcomers, but didn't seem to pay them much mind. The group walked down the street taking in all the sights.
"Well this is new, you know just walking down the street in a virtual world full of humans that are digitized." Said Marceline.
"Kind of makes you...think about how the world used to be, when it was just humans." Said Lucinda.
"Yeah it does. Brings back a lot of memories from my childhood, before the war." Said Marceline.
"Mine to." Said Lucinda.
"You two have never talked much about your childhood." Said Lance.
"Well there's not to much to say about it. Both our childhoods were fairly normal, we had no idea who our father's really were and that we were both more then human." Said Marceline.
"Then the war came hard and put an end to the old world. We survived and we had to go through some hard times. Eventually we both came in contact with a monster that changed us. I was bitten by a werewolf and Marceline was bitten by a vampire. Those monster bites mixed with our blood and gave us a bunch of powers. It also gave us immortal youth and allowed us to live on and see a new world be born from the wreckage of the old one." Said Lucinda.
"Sounds like quit a rough experience." Said Lance.
"It was rough, but it wasn't all bad. If it weren't for that vampire bite I would have never met you, Lucinda, or any of my other friends and family." Said Marceline.
"Just goes to show you that life moves on, even after something traumatic happened. It may seem bad at first, but things will get better at one point or another." Said Lucinda.
"So how do you think these people are going to take it, when they find out their lives have been nothing, but a computer simulation and that the world they knew is long gone?" Asked Marceline.
"I predict that there will be a bunch of panic and denial, before anyone comes to accept the truth of the situation. The people will need a lot of therapy and help, before they can adjust to the new world." Said William.
"Well I hope we can help them, but we should keep quit for now about this world being fake, we don't want to start a panic." Said Lance.
"Yeah hopefully we can figure out what that Bill guy is up to and stop him." Said Marceline.
"Until then I guess will explore and see what we can learn about the people here. Might as well take in the sights of this place." Said Lucinda.
Marceline spotted a sign advertising the Mystery Shack.
"Well this might be a good place to start. Might be fun." Said Marceline.
Lance found a little pamphlet dispenser that gave directions to the Mystery Shack and the group headed towards the location marked on the pamphlet.
At the Mystery Shack, Thompson had just dropped off Wendy, Samantha, Nyx, and Ying. The girls and bird went inside and Samantha and Nyx joined up with a small crowd of people, while Wendy headed off to the gift shop to start her shift. A old man wearing a tux, a fez, and an eyepatch approached the group and introduced himself as Stan. Stan began to show the group several different attractions, which was basically just some junk, some taxidermy animals with horns and antlers glued on, and an invisible man, which was just a hat and some glasses being suspended from the celling with some string. Samantha knew that the Mystery Shack was just a tourist trap, with a bunch of low level attractions to get people to come in and buy stuff. Stan for the most part was interesting, he was obviously a bit of a conman, but he was good with impressing people with his showmanship. Samantha gave Stan credit for his little performance of trying to make every object in the Mystery Shack, seem like a big deal and worth seeing. Nyx seemed to be enjoying the tour. It was then that a young boy and girl came into the Mystery Shack, with a pig.
"Oooo a piggy!" Cheered Nyx excitedly as she ran over to the pig and began to pet it.
The pig seemed to enjoy this and rolled onto it's back to get his belly rubbed.
"Ah Waddles likes you." Said the girl.
"Oh that's a cute name for a pig." Said Nyx.
"Can I pet your bird?" Asked the girl as she looked at Nyx.
"Sure thing. Just lift your arm up and he'll fly over to it and land."
The girl did as she was instructed and the bird landed on her outstretched arm. Ying sat on the arm and let the girl pet his back.
"That's quit a trained bird you got there." Said the boy.
"Thanks." Said Nyx.
"I'm Mabel and that's my brother Dipper." Said the girl.
"I'm Nyx and the cutie bird on your arm is Ying and behind me is my stepsister Samantha, though I just call her Sammy." Said Nyx.
"You enjoying our Grunkel Stan's tour?" Asked Dipper.
"What's a Grunkel?" Asked Nyx.
"Oh it's a grandparent/uncle. Stan our grandmother's brother, so we call him Grunkel." Explained Mabel.
"That's a good name." Said Nyx as she called Ying back over to her shoulder.
"Thanks." Said Mabel.
It was then that a man that looked like Stan, except he was dressed in black pants, a red sweater, and an old brown coat came in through the door, with a young man with stocky features wearing a brown cap and a grey greenish shirt with a painted question mark on it. The two men were carrying a crate into the building and every now and then the crate, would buck around. Stan went over to the man that looked like him and they began to have a whispered discussion.
"So whose that guy who looks like your Grunkel?" Asked Nyx.
"That's our other Grunkel. His called Ford." Explained Dipper.
"What's up little dudes?" Said the man with the question mark T-shirt.
"Not much, we just meet a couple of new people and their pet bird." Said Mabel.
"Names Samantha." Said Samantha.
"I'm Soos."
"I'm Nyx and this is Ying." Said Nyx.
"Whoa you kind of remind me of an anime character I saw in an anime called Wandering Witches. You even have a little pet to, which is pretty cool." Said Soos.
Nyx was a little startled, by this thinking that Soos had somehow figured out she was a witch. Samantha put a hand on Nyx's shoulder and gave her a little comforting squeeze.
"Relax, he doesn't know your an actual witch, his just saying you look like one he saw on a fictional TV show." Whispered Samantha.
"Oh." Said Nyx getting it.
"You want me to show you around the place?" Asked Mabel.
"Yeah." Said Nyx excitedly.
"Just be careful alright." Said Samantha.
"Ok Sammy." Said Nyx and Ying ran off with Dipper, Mabel, and Waddles.
Samantha decided to hang with Wendy and Soos.
"So you and Nyx are stepsisters?" Asked Wendy.
"Yeah, we kind of meet a few months ago, but the two of us are getting along just fine." Said Samantha.
"You kind of remind me of this character from an anime called Megabot Fighters. There was this girl who was like a tough tomboy girl that starts off as a rival, but she had a younger sibling she cared about and after awhile she become good friends with the protagonist and revealed herself to be a nice person." Said Soos.
"Well I guess you got me figured out. I'm busted." Joked Samantha.
Samantha hung out with Wendy and Soos as they continue to make small talk.
A few miles away, Marceline and her group were walking across a street, when a limo came down the street and screeched to a stop a few feet from the group. The window in the back opened up and a man with brown hair and a mustache stuck, his head out to glare at the group.
"Ug! You Common Folk always get in the way of everything!" Spat the man.
"It was your limo speeding down the road and disobeying the speed limits." Said William flatly.
"I am Preston Northwest, I'm not bound by the speed limits. Now get off the road, before I calls the cops on you."
Marceline consider just walking over to the limo and yanking Preston out and giving him a nice punch to the face, but Lucinda put a hand on her shoulder and shook her head no. The vampire let out a sigh and she and her group got out of the street. Preston smirked as the limo drove away.
"Man that guys a jerk! His just as arrogant as King!" Said Marceline.
"I agree." Said Lucinda with a nod.
The group continued on.
Miles away in another part of the woods, Bill, Klarion, and Teekl were walking through the woods, when they heard some muttering up ahead. The trio followed the noise to a clearing where they saw a young boy with white hair in a pompadour wearing a baby blue suit. The boy was scribbling something into a notepad, while glaring at a framed photo of Stan, with a big red x on it.
"Curse you Stan pines and all your friends and loved ones! Your constantly standing in my way of my plans and keeping me from what I want! I know your keeping something top secret and powerful in that Mystery Shack of yours. I would give anything to destroy you and take it!" Declared the boy.
"It seems we ran into quit a violent person." Said Klarion.
"It seems like we did. I think we can use this kid to help us out. He might be useful." Said Bill.
Klarion and Teekl watched as Bill floated up behind the boy and then phased through his head. Bill looked through the boy's mind and learned, his name was Gideon and he was quit a greedy boy, who desired power. Gideon believed that there was a key to ultimate power in a place called the Mystery Shack. Bill left Gideon's mind and appeared before him. Gideon starred up at Bill a little baffled and slightly frightened by the strange being.
"Who are you?" Asked Gideon as he calmed his nerve.
"The name's Bill Cipher and I take it you're some kind of living ventriloquist dummy? I'm just kidding, I know who you are, Gideon!" Said Bill.
"W-what are you? H-how do you know my name?" Asked Gideon.
"Oh, I know lots of things! LOTS OF THINGS...Just look what I can do!" Said Bill as he pointed to something on Gideon's right.
Gideon turned to see a deer standing a few yards away. Bill gestured toward the deer and the the deer's teeth then flew into his hand. The triangle demon handed Gideon the teeth.
"Deer teeth! For you, kid!" Laughed Bill.
"You're insane!" Cried Gideon in shock.
"Sure I am, what's your point?" Said Bill as he put the teeth back in deer's mouth.
The deer ran away in a panic. Gideon almost considered doing the same thing.
"Now I think you and I can help each other out Gideon. I and my associates can help you get what you want" said Bill.
"And what do you want in exchange for your services?" Asked Gideon.
"Oh will workout those details later. Do we have a deal?" Asked Bill as he offered Gideon a flaming blue hand.
"We got a deal Cipher." Said Gideon as he shook Bill's hand.
Klarion and Teekl came into the clearing to join Bill and Gideon. Bill chuckled silently to himself as he thought of using Gideon as a tool to serve him.
Miles away, Marceline and her group had just arrived at the Mystery Shack and we're fixing to go Ito it.
Little did they know, they were fixing to come face to face with an enemy they did not know and that both sides were being watched by Giffany. Giffany was observing the intruders for now, but soon she would strike and see what kind of threat the intruders posed.
