Chapter 151 Monsters

Henry and Slippy were still exploring by the lake, when they heard a weird sound.
"What was that?" Asked Slippy.
It was then that the Gobblewonker came charging out of the water roaring at the two heroes. The Gobbelwonker opened it's mouth wide and tried to chomp down on Slippy, but Henry tackled him and knocked the frogman away from the beast's jaws. Henry pulled out his collapsable trident and leaped at the Gobbelwonker, intending to stab it in the side and force it back into the lack. The trident struck the beast with a dull metal thud, but didn't seem to harm the creature at all. Henry was startled by this and the Gobbelwonker, took advantage of the mutant's surprise to slam his neck into Henry and knock him into the lake with a loud splash. The Gobbelwonker was fixing to turn it's attention back to Slippy, when a burst of water slammed into the side of it's head and forced it to turn towards the lake. Henry was back to his feet in waist deep water facing the beast.
"Come and get me ugly!" Shouted Henry before he dove into the water and began to swim deeper into the lake.
The Gobbelwonker let out a roar and dove into the lake after Henry and the Chase was on! Henry dove under the water and just barely avoided the Gobbelwonker's snapping jaws. The mutant and the beast went dipper into the water and came across an old sunken fishing boat. Henry swam through a porthole and the Gobbelwonker slammed it's head in after him, but couldn't fit the rest of it's body through the porthole, so it ended up stuck. The Gobbelwonker let out an enraged roar as it violently shook it's head from side to side smashing it into the sides of the boat. Henry quickly swam out through another porthole as the Gobbelwonker's violent trashing began to tear the boat apart. In a matter of seconds the boat was destroyed and the beast was freed. The Gobblewonker looked around in confusion trying to find Henry. The mutant was a few hundred yards away waving both his arms in the water using, his powers to create a whirlpool that surrounded the Gobblewonker. The beast was confused by this and tried to escape, but the pull of the whirlpool was to strong. Henry made the whirlpool rise up and to the surface.
On the surface, Slippy watched in awe as a spinning spout of water rose from the lake. The frogman could make out the bulky shape of the Gobbelwonker being spun around in the watery tornado. Soon the Gobbelwonker reached the top of the whirlpool and was spat out towards land. The beast crashed into the ground a hundred yards away from Slippy and laid there. Henry soon returned to shore and he and Slippy carefully approached the monster. The Gobbelwonker laid unmoving on the ground as the heroes approached it. Henry poked the creature with the shaft in of, his trident and it made a dull clunking sound. Slippy went over to the beast and gave it a kick making a dull metal sound.
"This thing is some kind of machine." Said Henry.
"Yeah, but who built it?" Asked Slippy.
It was at that moment that a hidden hatch on the Gobbelwonker's side opened up and out stumbled an old man with a long white beard with a band-aid on it. He had a large, pink nose with a few warts on it, blue eyes and a cast on his right arm. The man wore an old brown hat and brown overalls. Around his feet, he wore white bandages. The strange man was also missing several teeth.
"Ah you wrecked my Gobbelwonker!" Complained the old man.
"You...built that?" Asked Slippy pointing to the wrecked machine.
"I sure did. I wanted to gain attention. My son is embarrassed of me and doesn't want to spend time with me, so I figured the best way to get him to feel proud of me was to build me a mechanical monster and terrorize the lake." Said the old man.
"And you came up with conclusion?" Asked Henry.
"Well I reckon in hindsight, I could have come up with a better idea, but this one sounded good." Said the old man with a shrug.
"So who exactly are you...and why aren't you freaked out by our appearances?" Asked Slippy.
"People call me Old Man McGucket and I've seen a bunch of wacky things in my time that are much stranger then you fellows. I've seen cow people, short bearded men, dinosaurs, mere people, and a bear with multiple heads. You two seem alright unless you plan to lay eggs in my spleen or take me to be a sacrifice to a kraken."
"Well you have our word that we have no plans to do either of those things." Said Henry.
"Well that takes a mighty load off my mind." Said McGucket.
Henry and Slippy turned to look at each other and they began to whisper to each other.
"So what do you make of this guy? His not freaked out about our appearances and it sounds like his seen a bunch of weird things." Said Said Henry.
"Well I'll admit he does seem crazy, but he claimed he built that lake monster. McGucket might be a mad genius and who knows, maybe he might be aware that this world isn't what it seems." Said Slippy.
"You guys ever wake up and think that your whole world is fake? I do sometimes and I one time had a dream that I ate my shoes one time and I woke up to find out I did." Said McGucket.
"You don't...say. Um McGucket how many times have you woken up and thought. Your whole world was fake?" Said Slippy.
"Oh I say a dozen times or so. I also have these weird about a computer and getting zapped in the head repeatedly, but that could have just been an alien abduction." Said McGucket.
"Hey McGucket why don't you take us to your place and tell us more about these thoughts and visions." Said Henry.
"Oh doggies, company! I like the sound of that." Said McGucket with a bit of a hop skip.
McGucket turned around and headed into the woods with Slippy and Henry following him.
In another part of the woods, Gideon, Bill, Klarion, and Teekl had just reached a large clearing, when some bushes began to rustle and out stepped several large hairy, muscular, horned creatures wearing loincloths, who surrounded Gideon and the others.
"I told you I smelled something unmanly." Said one of the creatures.
"Who are you guys supposed to be?" Asked Gideon.
"I'm a manotaur! Half man! Half...uh...half taur! I am called Chutzpar." Said a red furred beast.
"So what do you guys want?" Asked Bill.
"Your trespassing on our manly land. We don't allow no sissy boys around here." Said Chutzpar.
"That goes double for the skinny kid with the cat." Shouted another manotaur.
A frown appeared on Klarion's face as he gave the Manotaurs a glare.
"You want to deal with these chumps?" Asked Bill.
"Yes. I'll take them on alone, unless these guys aren't man enough to fight me." Said Klarion.
This angered the Manotaurs, especially a big hulking one with fist for nipples named Testosteraur.
"Not MAN enough!? Not MAN enough! I have three Y chromosomes, six adam's apples, pecs on my abs and FISTS FOR NIPPLES!" Declared Testosteraur as he marched up to Klarion.
"Well I'll say your brave enough for being the first one, who gets taken down." Said Klarion as his right hand glowed red and he flicked Testosteraur in the face with a finger.
Testosteraur went flying through the air with a wild shout, over the heads of his fellow Manotaurs and crashed into a tree. The Manotaurs were momentarily startled by this, but they quickly recovered and charged at Klarion. The witch boy grinned as he raised both his hands and pointed his fingers like guns at the charging Manotaurs and began to fire red energy blast at them. Several of the charging beast were immediately knocked to the ground in a matter of seconds. A couple of Manotaurs managed to to reach Klarion and attempted to punch him on either side. Klarion just teleported at the last second and the Manotaurs ended up punching each other instead. Another group of Manotaurs hurled one of their own at Klarion like a missile, but the witch boy just waved his hand at the thrown Manotaur causing him to stop in midair, spin around in the opposite direction and crash into the Manotaurs that threw him. In a matter of minutes all the Manotaurs were on the ground groaning.
"Well that takes care of that." Said Klarion as he dusted himself off.
The woods began to suddenly shake and the air was filled with a huge stomping sound. The Manotaurs that were still conscious began to laugh.
"Your in for it now! That's are leader Leaderaur! His going to put the hurt on you." Declared one manotaur.
The stomping grew louder and closer as a manotaur that was the size of a building stomped into the clearing. Leaderaur was covered in dark fur and had red eyes. He looked at his defeated forces and then glared down at Klarion.
"Skinny scarecrow, you have injured my tribe's pride and manly honor! For that I will destroy you! I am Leaderaur and your death will be painful and it will be the closest thing you get to an honorable death!" Boomed Leaderaur.
"We'll bring it big cow! Show me what your made of." Said Klarion.
Leaderaur took a deep breath and unleashed a blast of fire from his nostrils at Klarion.
"Well that's nasty." Said Bill as he watched the fight.
Klarion and Teekl vanished in the flames and after a few seconds Leaderaur stopped his attack and let the smoke clear. The smoke vanished and revealed that Klarion and Teekl were safe, behind a red dome of energy. Leaderaur let a fierce snarl as he slammed both his fist down on the dome. The dome cracked a little, but held. Klarion waved his hands and unleashed an energy wave that made Leaderaur stumble back. The witch boy rose into the air and Leaderaur yanked a tree out of the ground and swung it at Klarion. Klarion teleported out of the way and appeared behind Leaderaur and hit him in the back with a fireball. Leaderaur let out a savage snarl as he turned to face Klarion. The witch boy opened, his mouth and unleashed a blast of red mystical flames that slammed into Leaderaur's face knocking him to the ground with a shout of pain.
"I'm getting board with you now, so I'm just going to finish this quickly." Said Klarion as he raised both his hands and unleashed a large magical energy blast that resembled a bat at Leaderaur.
Leaderaur had managed to stumble to his feet, when the blast hit him and exploded! The explosion sent Leaderaur crashing into the mountain behind him creating a huge crater in it. Leaderaur let out a groan as he collapsed to the ground and a pile of rocks fell on him covering most of his body. The Manotaurs starred at their defeated leader in shock. Klarion walked over to Gideon and Bill, with Teekl.
"Now that's out of the way let's move on." Said Bill.
"Right." Said Gideon as he starred at the defeated Manotaurs, awed by Klarion and his powers.
The group continued towards the mountain.
Deep within the virtual world, Giffany had watched the villains beat the Manotaurs. This confirmed that they were a threat to the people and the system. Giffany was going to need to take extreme action against the intruders, she went about summoning her security programs and making plans to deal with the intruders in the town. It was time to get serious.
