Chapter 166 Dark

Dominator soared through the sky on her D.A.T.E.R.V, with a captured Phoebe. The villain summoned her ship and ordered it to enter the atmosphere, so she could board it with her prisoner. Dominator didn't want her prisoner dying in the cold vacuum space, since she needed her to get Finn. The ship entered the atmosphere and Dominator flew up into it, dismounted her vehicle and called a couple of her robots to take Phoebe's body to a holding cell. The Black Cube floated over to Dominator and she smiled at it.
"I have the body and soul of Finn's little girlfriend. Now all I have to do is make my demands. Finn will give in and soon after a few alterations to his mind he'll be my boyfriend and my servant. I am really on fire today!" Said Dominator as she headed to the command bridge with Black Cube.
The soul of Phoebe woke up to find herself on a grey rocky platform in the middle of a vas darkness. The princess blinked her eyes in confusion trying to figure out what was going on and then she recalled being sucked into the strange black cube.
"So...I was captured by that Dominator creep...and the next thing I know...there was a second me...that was sucked into that was sucked into that weird cube...and now I'm here inside...it." Said Phoebe as she looked around.
Phoebe spotted a few other floating platforms out in the distance and she thought she could make out some people on them. The princess decided to go check it out and she used her powers to fly up into the air.
"Well my powers still seem to work, so that's good." Thought Phoebe as she flew through the void towards the other platform.
Phoebe's flames cast very little light in the darkness, which seemed to swallow up everything. The fiery girl soon reached the other platform and was met by three strange individuals. There was a white humanoid creature dressed as a mime, a fat lizard creature dressed as a fry cook, and a dog man dressed as a cowboy.
"Looks like a new one got sucked in." Said the dog man.
"Um...hi I'm Phoebe." Said Phoebe.
"Don't bother telling us your name or anything like that. That info is useless." Grumbled the mime.
"Aren't mimes not supposed to talk?" Asked Phoebe.
"Yeah...but there's no point in that. We're all stuck in this black void forever." Said the mime.
"Excuse him, his really moody." Said the lizard creature.
"Sure. So can any of you tell me exactly what this place is?" Said Phoebe.
"This is the black void. It's the inner darkness of the Black Cube and there's no way out." Said the dog man.
"No...way...out?" Asked Phoebe slightly stunned.
"Yes. The Black Cube was once a being so filled with evil, that his own evil power destroyed his body and transformed it into a black cube of pure evil. Now he roams around the universe and sucks in the souls of the unlucky and banishes them to here." Said the mime.
"How exactly did the three of you get banished here?" Asked Phoebe.
"I annoyed the Black Cube." Said the mime.
"I put pickles on his burger, when he said no pickles." Said the lizard.
"I tried to arrest him." Said the dog man.
"How'd you get banished here?" Asked the mime.
"A villain called Dominator captured me and then she had the Black Cube suck me in." Said Phoebe.
"Well that's new. You better get comfy, because you could be spending the rest of your afterlife here." Said the lizard.
"No! I'm going to get out of here! I'll figure something out or my boyfriend and friends will rescue me!" Declared Phoebe.
"Yeah you keep telling yourself that." Grumbled the mime.
"You'll see." Said Phoebe as she starred out at the void.
On board Dominator's ship, Mental Mouse had teleported over carrying a round helmet device with a few flashing lights on it. Dominator met with Mental Mouse on the command bridge.
"So whose the person you want me to brainwash for you?" Asked Mental Mouse.
"Oh his not here yet, but he'll be here soon. I have someone he cares about and I'm sure, he'll be more then willing to trade his life for hers." Said Dominator.
"Who is this person anyway?" Asked Mental Mouse.
"A young man named Finn." Said Dominator.
Mental Mouse recognized the name and he asked Dominator to contact the Shard to tell the other villains her plan. Dominator agreed and she called the Shard. Hookocho's face appeared on the screen and Dominator told him her plan. A big grin appeared on Hookocho's face as Dominator finished explaining her plan.
"I must say Dominator I'm very impressed. You captured a powerful fiery being and you plan to use her as leverage to get Finn to come to you, so you can brainwash him. That's brilliant! Not only do you add a powerful being to our ranks, but now we have Queen Atalanta's son on our side. Atalanta will be helpless against us, with her son by our side and she won't lift a finger to fight him. Finn is the perfect tool for the conquering of planet Olympia." Said Hookocho.
"Well Dominating is kind of my thing and I'm glad you approve. I'll be sending a message and a pod for Finn very soon." Said Dominator.
"I look forward to it." Said Hookocho before his face vanished from the screen.
Meanwhile on the planet below, Jeff, Mimi, Peridot, and Lapis were hanging out. The little group of runaways had only met a few days ago, but already they were becoming close friends. Mimi had become closely attached to Lapis and Peridot. Peridot was at first unsure about Mimi's affections towards her, but then she learned that despite her age and lack of verbal communication Mimi was incredibly smart and good with understanding things. As time went by Lapis and Peridot told Jeff and Mimi their story and Jeff explained a bit about his and Mimi's history.
Jeff told the gems that he and Mimi came from another universe and that their home planet was Earth. The spider then told how a bunch of heroes and various super powered beings and scientific minds joined together to form a peacekeeping organization. The group was lead by a powerful and intelligent women named Blossom and her super smart scientist husband Dexter. The heroes defended the planet from many threats then one day the most evil being in their universe, a being who simply went by the name Him made a deal with Blossom. Him wanted a child of his own to inherit his evil empire and he wanted Blossom to be the one to produce that child. At first Blossom outright refused to do this, but then Him talked about going to visit various other women and forcing all of them to each give him a child. Realizing that a bunch of innocent people were in danger and that a whole bunch of new threats would rise up from Him's actions, Blossom agreed to have Him's child on the conditions that Him not produce anymore children. Him agreed and thus Mimi was conceived.
"Was Dexter mad about Blossom doing this? And was he mad that Mimi wasn't his child?" Asked Lapis.
"No...Dexter was very understanding about the situation and he loved Mimi like she was his his child. Blossom and Dexter both loved Mimi very much and for a time everything was good, until Him came to take Mimi." Said Jeff.
Jeff then explained that Him had launched a major attack against the heroes and succeeded in killing all of them. In the end Him captured Mimi and Blossom and then he infected Mimi with an evil substance called Devil's Essence and made Mimi kill Blossom. Him then cut off Mimi's hands and replaced them with claws to torture her and make Mimi more like him. Jeff then told the gems how he had removed the Devil's Essence from Mimi and how the two of them had fled to this dimension and planet.
Peridot and Lapis were shocked by this and they asked, how Mimi could have held up after all that had happened. Jeff simply said that Mimi was strong willed like her mother and that she was not going to let what her father did beat her. The gems were impressed by this. Later on Mimi had taken Peridot's tablet and it looked like she was fixing to throw it in the river. Peridot had panicked and desperately stretched her arms out to the device as Mimi threw it. However instead of hitting the river the tablet just stopped in midair and floated there. Peridot starred at the tablet in confusion, while Jeff turned to look at Mimi.
"Are you using your telekinesis?" Asked Jeff, knowing that Mimi possessed that power.
Mimi shook her head and pointed at Peridot, who still had her arms stretched out towards the tablet.
"I'm...doing this?" Asked Peridot looking confused.
Mimi nodded her head. Peridot looked at the floating tablet and she began to reel her arm back in a circle causing the tablet to float back to Peridot, who caught it.
"You knew something like this would happen?" Asked Lapis in awe as she looked at Mimi.
Mimi nodded her head.
"I have the power to control metal!" Declared Peridot as she made the tablet float in the air.
"I'm glad you helped Peridot learn her power Mimi, but next time you should tell us what you plan to do ok." Said Jeff.
Mimi nodded her head in understanding.
"That's a good girl." Said Jeff with a smile.
Mimi smiled back.
At the Capitol, Finn had returned to the palace with a defeated look on his face. Atalanta and Sarah headed over to Finn with looks of concern on their faces. Finn explained what happened and tears of frustration began to pour from his eyes.
"I...watched Dominator...use the Black Cube to steal...Phoebe's soul and then she flew off into the air with Phoebe's body. I...tried to leap and grab Dominator, but...she was just out of reach." Said Finn.
"It's ok Finn will get Phoebe back." Assured Atalanta as she hugged Finn.
"My daughter is strong Finn, it'll take more then a villain and a dumb cube to do her in. I just know she's going to be ok." Said Sarah.
This cheered Finn up a little bit. A few hours later the alarms on the place went off and Finn and the others gathered outside the palace. A small ship and a Dominator robot were flying down from the sky towards the palace. The bot bared a white flag, to show that it was coming in peace. The ship landed and the bot floated up to the heroes. A hologram of Dominator shot out of the bot and stood before the heroes. The hologram of Dominator stood before the defenders with a hologram of Phoebe sitting in a chair next her. Finn starred at the hologram of Phoebe and saw how lifeless and unresponsive she looked. The hologram Dominator smiled at the defenders.
"Greetings defenders of planet Olympia. As you should all already know, I'm Lord Dominator. I have recently captured this girl here and I've taken her soul out." Said Dominator.
"Monster!" Shouted Sarah with rage.
"You should know that no harm has come to this girl...yet and I plan to return her soul to her on one condition." Said Dominator.
"What is this condition?" Asked Atalanta.
"I want the young hero, who goes by the name of Finn to get into the ship I sent. The ship will take him to my command ship, where we will meet and talk more about the freedom of my prisoner." Said Dominator.
"I'll do it." Said Finn as he stepped towards the ship.
"Finn...don't. This is clearly a trap of some kind. Dominator wants you." Said Atalanta as she got in her son's way.
"I...know that it might be a trap, but we have no choice. Phoebe's body needs it's soul back. I failed to save her, but I will not fail her again. I'll save her and escape Dominator's ship... somehow." Said Finn.
"Very well...then. Save Phoebe...and please return safely. I don't want to lose you." Said Atalanta.
"I give you my word that'll I'll return with Phoebe. I love you mom." Said Finn as he kissed his mom on the cheek and gave her a quick hug.
Atalanta smiled and released Finn. The young hero went over to the ship as the hatch for the cockpit popped open. Finn jumped inside and the hatch closed.
"Pleasure doing business." Said Dominator's hologram before it vanished.
The ship took off with the bot flying right behind it.
"I'm coming to save you Phoebe." Vowed Finn as he saw Dominator's command ship up ahead of him.
