Chapter 177 Rescue Reunion

On planet Olympia, Martin was leading Jeff and his group to the Capitol. The little group was a few miles away from the Capitol and Mimi, Jeff, and Lapis starred at it in awe.
"There's the Capitol. It's the safest place on the planet." Said Martin.
"It is indeed. The walls surrounding it are strong and well defended by capable warriors. We should be safe there." Said Peridot.
"We should get there in a couple of hours." Said Martin.
The group headed on towards the Capitol. Mimi cast a look up at the sky and for some reason, she felt uneasy. The sooner the group reached the Capitol the better.
Out in space, Diabolo Dog and Onyx were flying through space, until they reached planet Olympia. Diabolo Dog's nostrils flared as he caught the sent of Mimi coming from the planet. The demon smiled wickedly as he flew down to the planet with Onyx right behind him.
Martin's group was traveling through some woods, when they heard a loud whooshing sound from he sky that made them look up to see a pair of fireballs racing down from the sky and slam into the ground with a thunderous crash a few yards away from the group. The objects kicked up a big dust cloud that blinded Martin and the others.
"What the heck was that?!" Coughed Martin.
Through the dust Mimi and Jeff could just make out two hulking figures with glowing red eyes. Mimi's eyes went wide with terror as the dust began to clear up. A look of panic appeared in Jeff's eyes as he saw the demons standing before him and the others. It only took Jeff a second figure out what the demons wanted Mimi and he quickly grabbed the girl and handed her over to Lapis.
"You need to get Mimi away from here right now! Fly her to the Capitol!" Urged Jeff.
Lapis nodded as she quickly summoned her wings and took flight into the sky. Diabolo Dog and Onyx were fixing to chase after them, but Jeff fired a couple of globs webbing at their faces and blinded them.
"Aaaaa! You stupid spider! I'll rip most of your legs off for this!" Roared Diabolo Dog as he tore at the webbing on his face.
"I'll deal with this lot, you go after the kid." Said Onyx as he managed to yank the webbing off of his face.
Diabolo Dog grunted as he pulled the webbing from his face and took off into the sky after Lapis and Mimi.
"Who are these guys?" Asked Martin.
"A couple of Him's goons. They're after Mimi." Said Jeff.
"You really blew it this time you overgrown bug! The boss is furious about what you did and he ain't happy about you taking his daughter. Your going to regret doing that." Said Onyx with a sneer.
"The only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. I have no regrets about taking Mimi from Him, because he has no right to call himself a father after what he did." Said Jeff.
"Oh so the little spider found himself some courage, ain't that sweet? I'll make sure to stomp a good bit of it out before I take you back to the boss." Said Onyx as he prepared to attack.
Thunk!
A fist size stone flew through the air and struck the side of Onyx making him stagger back and put a hand to his head in pain. The demon turned his eyes to look at Martin, who had just picked up another rock and tossed it between his hands.
"I'll flail the skin from your bones for that!" Snarled Onyx.
"I like to see you try, you oversized pet rock. You mess with the spider, your messing with me." Said Martin before he expectedly tossed the stone and struck Onyx in the forehead.
Onyx roared in anger as he rushed at Martin swinging his clawed hands at him. Martin dove out of the way and scooped some dirt up, before he got to his feet. The demon swirled around to face the human and Martin tossed it into his eyes blinding him. Onyx screamed in pain and stumbled back clawing his eyes. Peridot took this moment to use her powers to levitate a frying pan from one of the bags and slammed it down on Onyx's head knocking him down. Jeff then shot his webbing at the down demon and covered him up and pinned him to the ground.
"Whew! We did!" Said Martin.
"Victory! We took down that clod!" Declared Peridot.
"Thanks Martin." Said Jeff.
"No problem, it's what I used to do, besides couldn't just stand by and watch that jerk clobber you. Your a good guy Jeff and the fact that, your willing to risk your life to protect a little girl, is pretty admirable. I respect that." Said Martin.
"Well thanks for that. Now come on, we have to go deal with the other one and make sure Mimi is ok." Said Jeff.
Before they could get going the webbing that held Onyx began to quiver and then it was ripped to shreds as Onyx shot to his feet looking incredibly enraged.
"You sneaky rats are going to suffer for this!" Snarled Onyx.
Jeff tried to shot the demon with more webbing, but Onyx rushed at him and slammed a fist into the spider, sending him flying and crashing into a tree. Martin grabbed a big knife from one of the packs and leaped onto Onyx's back stabbing him in the shoulder, with the knife. The blade managed to pierce Onyx's rocky hide and into his body. Onyx roared with pain and rage as he stumbled around with Martin on his back. After several seconds Onyx managed to reach back and grab Martin. The human let out a startled shout as Onyx threw him through the air and sent him crashing to the ground a few feet from Jeff. Onyx then turned his attention to Peridot, who was quivering a few feet away. The demon shot out a kick to Peridot's midsection and knocked her to the ground with ease.
"Just a bunch of worthless trash." Grumbled Onyx.
While that was going on Diabolo Dog was in fast pursuit of Lapis and Mimi. The blue gem flew with all her might with Mimi clinging to her in terror. Lapis zigzagged through the trees to try and lose the demonic dog, but Diabolo Dog just simply smashed through the trees with very little effort. Soon Diabolo Dog caught up with Lapis and slammed a fist down on her back sending her and Mimi crashing to the ground below. Lapis wrapped her body around Mimi to protect her as the two of them hit the ground with a thud.
"And so the hunt comes to an end. It was all to easy." Chuckled Diabolo Dog as he landed on the ground near Lapis and Mimi.
Lapis groaned as her grip on Mimi loosened. Mimi looked at her hurt friend in fear and then looked up at the massive form of Diabolo Dog in terror. The demon just laughed at the child's fear as he reached down separated Mimi from Lapis. Diabolo Dog picked the two up and took off into the sky to head back to Onyx.
On the Capitol's walls, a bunch of Spartans had heard a commotion coming from the forest and were concerned about it. Finn came up to the wall to ask what was going on and the Spartans pointed to the woods. Finn said he would go investigate and used his powers to leap off the wall and race off towards the forest.
Onyx was tying up Jeff, Martin, and Peridot, with a black rope he conjured up, when Diabolo Dog arrived with Mimi and Lapis.
"I got the goods. Now call the master." Said Diabolo Dog as he dropped Mimi and Lapis to the ground.
Onyx nodded as he pulled out the magic mirror and Him's face appeared in it. The evil being starred out from the mirror at Mimi. The girl shuddered and Him just smiled and chuckled nastily.
"Well hello daughter. I see that my minions caught up to you and your little spider. I have to say that I'm very disappointed in what you did. First you reject my marvelous gift from your body and then you go running off without saying goodbye or bothered leaving a note for your dear old dad. And I thought your mother raised you better. Well a good thing you killed her, otherwise she'd be here making a scene." Said Him.
Mimi cringed about Him saying, she killed her mother. It brought up a bunch of unpleasant memories for her. Jeff scowled at the mirror.
"Don't you mean, how you poisoned your daughter with evil and made her kill, her mother, because that's how I remember things happening."
"Ah I see that you've grown a backbone Jeff. I'm going to take great pleasure ripping it out, though I must say I was a bit surprised by what you did. I never thought you would be so bold as to remove the devil essence from my daughter and flee my realm." Said Him.
"Well I wasn't going to sit around and watch as you tortured and ruin Mimi's life. Blossom and the others wouldn't want none of the things you've done, for Mimi." Said Jeff.
"Well you can join Blossom and all those other heroes in oblivion, right after you bare witness to Mimi getting a special gift from me. It's the devil essence, though I've increased it's power quit a bit and it's not very happy about being removed from Mimi and getting trapped under a bucket." Said Him.
"Yo red man, you have to be the worst father ever and that's really something if it comes from a deadbeat like me." Said Martin.
"Hold your tongue mortal!" Spat Onyx.
"Oh it's alright, let the fool have his little moment. I'm going to see he suffers, but first on to business." Said Him.
The mirror began to glow red and a blood red fog exited it and made it's way to Mimi. Everyone stared at the cloud in horror and awe. The cloud looked like a ghoulish head with horns, with a mouth twisted into an anguish scream. Mimi tried to escape the cloud of devil essence, but Diabolo Dog stopped her. The devil essence raced towards Mimi and covered her body. The smoke went down her throat and up her nose to spread through her body.
"MIMI!" Cried Jeff, Lapis, and Peridot.
The cloud vanished into Mimi's body and the child just sat on the ground looking pale and weak.
"That stuff packs quit a punch doesn't it? This time I'm going to have you reduced to a obedient little doll that loves evil and the I'll give the devil essence to someone more deserving and just keep you around as a slave." Said Him with a laugh.
"What about us?" Asked Peridot.
"Oh I'll just have you brought to my realm and tortured till you die and then I'll have your souls captured and tortured." Said Him with a cruel smile.
Peridot paled, while the other captives glared at Him with anger and disgust. Mimi just shivered and starred at the ground. It seemed all hope was lost.
"I'll be seeing you all soon." Said Him before his face vanished from the mirror.
Onyx put the mirror up and was fixing to open a dimensional portal, when something came charging out of the woods towards the demons. It was Finn! The young hero ran at Diabolo Dog and dropped kick him in the chest using his powers and sent them the demonic dog flying back and crashing through several trees. Onyx starred at Finn, looking dumbfounded by what just happened. Finn landed on his feet and looked at the others. Mimi seemed to come out of her sickly trance a little and looked up at Finn with a bit of surprise and awe. The girl felt a spark of excitement go through her body as she starred at her rescuer.
"Finn!" Said Martin excitedly as he starred up at his son.
"Dad. What is going on here?" Asked Finn.
"Long story short, I found these people who are runaways looking for a safe place to live, so I deeded to take them to the Capitol, which I knew was safe." Said Martin.
"It's true." Said Jeff.
"Alright then. I'll deal with this other guy and help you to the Capitol." Said Finn.
"Like I let you!" Roared Onyx as he threw a punch at Finn.
Finn channeled his power through his own fist and slammed it into Onyx's fist. The demon's fist shattered to bits and Onyx staggered back screaming in pain as he held his stump with his other hand.
"I'm only going to give you this one chance to leave, so take it or I'll smash you to bits." Said Finn.
Onyx gritted his teeth, but then he turned and ran in the direction Diabolo Dog had been sent flying. Finn went about freeing Martin and the others, while Mimi starred at Finn. Mimi felt her heart beating wildly in her chest as she looked at the men that had just saved her and her friends. The girl's eyes then closed and she passed out on the ground ground. Jeff went over to Mimi and gently placed, her on his back, while Martin began to fill Finn on what had been going on. The group then started to make their way to the Capitol.
