Chapter 185 Forgiveness

The screen went dark as the movie ended. The group stared at the blank screen in both sadness and anger, when suddenly the room was lite up with a blue glow. Phoebe turned towards the source of the glow and saw that it was Finn using his powers. The young man's body glowed intensely as he clenched his teeth together and balled his fist.

"Those people were a family that supported and loved one another. They were all heroes and Him killed them and tortured Mimi like it was all some kind of sick game! It's messed up and that monster needs to PAY!" Declared Finn.

Atalanta put a hand on her son's shoulder and gave him a firm squeeze.

"Calm yourself my son. Your desire for justice for what we have just witnessed is understandable, but there is nothing we can do at this time. Him is in another universe, one that you cannot reach and even if you could get there, you wouldn't be able to beat Him, with your current level of power."

Finn seemed to calm down a little as he stopped glowing.

"It's...just messed up. The injustice of it all." Said Finn.

"I know what you mean. Finn you must understand that there are many acts of justice and injustice committed throughout the multiverse. You cannot stop every crime or villain in the multiverse. Sometimes the problems of the other universe appear before us with hurt and damaged people and the only things we can to do them is to help comfort and heal them. Then we can help deal with the problems they have back home." Said Atalanta .

"I...guess your right. I'll focus on making myself stronger and trying to help Mimi heal and recover." Said Finn.

Atalanta smiled a little at her son.

A few hours later Martin had worked up the nerve to ask to speak to Finn and Atalanta in private. The three of them met on a balcony on one of the upper parts of the palace. Martin stared at his wife and son, who looked back at him.

"Thank you both for agreeing to come see me. I know right now we have a bunch of stuff going with the invasion and Mimi having an inner struggle with that thing inside her, so I'll make this quick. This is something I owe both of you for a long time. I want to say...I'm sorry for being both a bad husband and a bad father. Finn. Atalanta. You are the two most important things in my life and your more then a deadbeat like me deserves. The two of you are so kindhearted and powerful and people follow you and love you. You both faced many tough things in your life, but they weren't anything compared to what I did to our family. I hurt both your trust and your feelings. I teleported Finn to Earth, when he was just a baby and I refused to tell Atalanta where was to try avoiding getting sent to the Citadel. When I made it to Earth I found Finn and took his trust and love and took advantage of it. I got him hurt in one of my schemes and almost wished he was never born! I know now what I did was wrong and that there's so excuse for what I did. If I could go back in time to stop myself from breaking our family apart all those years ago, I would do it in a heartbeat. Not to prevent myself from going to prison or from becoming the most hated person on Olympia or Ooo, but to give you two the mother and son time I stole from you and keep you from experiencing the pain I put you through. I am truly sorry...for what I did to you and I want you to know I love you both so...very much and I just want to make things right between us." Said Martin as a few tears fell from his eyes.

Finn and Atalanta stared at Martin stunned. They could tell that he was truly sorry and they could see that he meant every word. Finn stepped forward and without a word, he embraced his father.

"I...forgive you dad." Said Finn.

"As do I. It took you some time to finally apologize and admit your mistakes to us, but I'm proud you did. I forgive you Martin and I want us to be a family again." Said Atalanta as she stepped forward kissed Martin on the cheek and then she joined in on the family hug.

Finn was between his mom and dad as they hug and he realized for the first time, his family was back together. This made the young hero smile happily. It was a tender moment.

Elsewhere, Mimi's body was resting soundlessly in the medical bay, however her mind wasn't so restful. Mimi found herself in the black and white version of the city she used to live in facing Nega Mimi.

"You know the only reason you got knocked out was because, you thought about your mother, when you saw those two fire women together. You let your emotions cloud your judgement and they mad you lose focus. Forget about your mom, she's dead. If you didn't exist your mother and all those other people, who got killed would still be alive. Your a cursed child with an evil destiny and there's nothing you can do to change that." Said Nega Mimi.

Mimi fell to her knees staring at the ground as tears fell from her eyes. Nega Mimi, was right. Mother and the others would still be alive if it wasn't for her. It was only a matter of time before Jeff, Lapis, Peridot, and all the other people she recently met, faced a similar fate.

"You know I can make all the pain go away. All you have to do is willing give yourself over to me one hundred precent and all your worries will be gone." Said Nega Mimi as she offered Mimi a claw.

Mimi looked up at Nega Mim and was fixing to reach out and grab the claw, when something unexpected happened.

BANG!

There was a loud gunshot and something flew by Mimi's head. Mimi watched in stunned amazement as a bullet struck Nega Mimi in the forehead striking her chakra gem. The bullet made a loud dinging sound as it struck the gem and Nega Mimi stumbled back. The projectile didn't enter Nega Mimi's body, it just smushed against her gem and clattered to the ground. Mimi turned in the direction the bullet had come from and was startled to see Chi standing holding a smoking pistol in her righthand.

"You stay away from my friend you ugly wannabe, because your not taking her." Said Chi as she pulled out another pistol with her lefthand and she pointed both guns at Nega Mimi.

"Chi?" Asked Mimi.

"Nope just a memory of her, but like the real thing I care about you just the same. And trust me, when I say you shouldn't trust this creep." Said Chi.

"But out of this! Your just a powerless memory of a powerless demon. You no nothing about what Mimi wants and needs! I'm the only person she needs!" Declared Nega Mimi.

Chi just scoffed and began to fire both guns at Nega Mimi. The princess's aim was true and several bullets slammed into Nega Mimi, but they did no harm to her and simply smushed against, her skin and clattered to the ground. Nega Mimi just grinned and dusted herself off, while Mimi backed away with her eyes growing wide.

"That all you got?" Asked Nega Mimi with a smirk.

"Yeah, but I was only a distraction." Said Chi with a grin.

"Distraction?" Asked Nega Mimi.

A fire hydrant then explode and a jet of water transformed into a giant arm that slammed right on top of Nega Mimi slamming her into the ground. The water arm picked Nega Mimi up and slammed her into a parked van. Nega Mimi let out a frustrated groan as the water hand released her, but before she could try to escape a dump truck, suddenly levitated into the air and slammed itself into Nega Mimi and the van with a loud crash.

CRASH!

"That should buy us a little time." Said Peridot as she and Lapis stepped out from the shadows of an alleyway.

"Lapis. Peridot." Said Mimi with a grin.

"We're your memories of your friends." Said Peridot.

"We all came to lend you a hand and to stop you from making a big mistake." Said Chi.

Mimi looked at her friends confused.

"That evil version of you is a virus and if you had agreed to give yourself to it, then you would have been consumed and the current you would have been erased and replaced by a fully evil version of yourself." Explained Peridot.

Mimi went pale and then, she glanced over at the wreck and pointe at it with. Lapis seemed to get what Mimi was saying.

"I'm afraid that Nega Mimi is only temporary down. We are only memories and we lack the power to beat Nega Mimi and remove her from your body, mind, and soul. You are the only one who can truly beat her Mimi, but first there are some people you need to see and something important you must do in order to take Nega Mimi on and get your life back."

A shadow rose out of the ground and Raven appeared before Mimi. Raven took down her hood and gave Mimi a small smile.

"Hey Mimi, come on there somewhere we need to go." Said Raven as she offered Mimi, her hand.

Mimi took Raven's hand and glanced back at Chi, Lapis, and Peridot, who waved and smiled back at her. The two girls were gone in a flash of darkness. The wreck Nega Mimi was under, suddenly exploded and Nega Mimi hovered in the air glaring down at Chi and her two gem companions. Nega Mimi let out a snarl as she fired red lasers from her eyes at the trio, but it just went through them and did no harm. Chi just laughed as she stuck her tongue out at Nega Mimi as she, Lapis, and Peridot became transparent and faded away. Nega Mimi gritted her teeth and let out a roar of anger. The evil entity then used her power to sense where Mim was and took off flying towards Mimi's former home the hero headquarters.

Mimi found herself being lead down a hallway of her old home. Raven held Mimi's hand as they walked.

"You've been through a rough time this year. You lost both your parents, me, your aunts, and all your other friends. You were infected with an evil essence, you had your hands were cut off by that horrible devil, and you were force to live in a hellish place full of monsters. It's been tough and your probably wondering what's the point in going on. Why bother fighting? Why not give into despair? It would feel easy just to give up, but listen to me when I say you must never give into despair. If you allow yourself to go down that road then you surrender yourself to your lowest instincts. In the darkest of times, hope is something you have yourself. That is the true meaning of inner strength." Said Raven.

Mimi looked up at Raven with awe.

"I used to think destiny was something that couldn't be changed or challenged, when I was growing up. I believed that because of my father that I was nothing more then a tool destined to bring destruction onto the world, but then I made some friends, who treated me like family and they didn't see me as some kind of monster. They showed me that my destiny was something I had control over, not my father. You have the power to control, your destiny Mimi and it's time to take the first step." Said Raven.

Mimi found herself smiling a little at this. Raven lead Mimi into a large room full of computer screens. There was a loud explosion from above as Nega Mimi smashed in from above.

"Found you! Now it's time for you to surrender yourself to me!" Declared Nega Mimi.

Mimi looked up at the evil entity nervously and then she glanced over at Raven, who faded away.

"Ha! Well isn't that rich another of your so called loved ones abandoned you. They say they care about you, but in actuality they didn't. Your friends and family only pretended to love and care about, because they feared your powers. Even your more recent friends and allies will eventually abandon you." Sneered Nega Mimi with a sinister grin.

"Oh I beg to differ." Said Dexter as he suddenly appeared next to Mimi holding a remote.

Dexter pressed a button and all the computer screens turned on. Each screen showed a different memory of Mimi spending time with her friends and family. The images were of happy times and Mimi could tell that not a single person from, her past was pretending to love her. The love that was shown was genuine real love.

"How...can you love HER?! She isn't even your child!" Spat Nega Mimi as she pointed a claw at Dexter.

"We might not be blood related, but Mimi is still my daughter and I have loved her since the moment I first laid eyes on her. Mimi has shown that she is very kind and smart. You on the other hand are very weak and rely on lies and deceit to be strong. You don't have to be as smart as me to see that Mimi's going to beat you and do a bunch of amazing things with her life." Said Dexter.

Nega Mimi just gritted her teeth and snapped her claws with rage, before she let out a howl and charged forward, only to bounce off a force field and crash through a wall.

"Now then there's one more person, you need to see and then you can beat this." Said Dexter as he turned to Mimi.

Mimi felt someone lay their hands on her shoulders and she turned to see her mom behind her smiling.

"Ma!" Cried Mimi happily.

"Hey sweetie, I've missed you." Said Blossom as her daughter turned and they embraced.

"It's good to be back together again." Said Dexter as he went over and joined in on the group hug.

Mimi then thought back to her mom's death and she began to cry. Blossom brushed the tears out of Mimi's eyes and looked, her daughter straight in the eye.

"Mimi what happened that day wasn't your fault, you had no control over what happened. I love you Mimi and you need to stop blaming yourself for what happened and forgive yourself."

Mimi blinked her eyes and stared at her mom.

"The thing that's been truly weighing you down is your refusal to forgive yourself. In order for you to heal and beat this virus. I want you to move on and have a happy life Mimi." Said Blossom.

"Now go forgive yourself." Said Dexter as he pointed to the right.

Mimi turned to see another her sitting on her knees crying. Blossom and Dexter faded away as Mimi headed over to the crying child.

"My fault! My fault!" Cried the child.

Mimi stared at the child and then, she wrapped her arms around her and hugged her.

"What...?" Asked the child looking confused.

"Not your fault. I forgive you." Said Mimi with a smile.

The other Mimi stopped crying and smiled. Mimi watched as the other her began to glow and then vanish before, her eyes. It felt like a huge weight was lifted from her back. Mimi felt great and then color began to appear in the black and white world. Nega Mimi smashed through a wall and stared at the colors and Mim, with both shock and and anger. Mimi looked at the evil entity's eyes and she saw traces of fear in them.

"I don't know what, you did, but it won't change a thing! You will submit to me!" Declared Nega Mimi.

"No." Said Mimi as she glared at Nega Mimi.

"What?" Asked Nega Mimi.

"I will not submit." Said Mimi.

"Oh really?" Asked Nega Mimi.

"My destiny is mine. Not yours." Said Mimi.

"Oh will just see about that!" Snarled Nega Mimi as she lunged at Mimi.

Mimi just punched Nega Mimi in the face and knocked her back. Nega Mimi stumble back dazed and Mimi leaped forward to deliver a couple more punches that knocked the evil entity to the ground.

"Vacate." Said Mimi with a glare.

"Vacate? Oh I'm afraid not." Said Nega Mimi with a nasty grin as her body turned into red mist and went through a crack in the floor.

The building began to shake, then an entire section of the building was yanked off and Mimi found herself facing a giant monstrous version of Nega Mimi's head, which just floated above the ground, with it's hair slithering around it like tentacles. Nega Mimi laughed as her hair shot out and grabbed Mimi.

"I own your mind, body, and soul! There's no place you can hide that I won't be able to get to you!" Laughed Nega Mimi as her hair lowered Mimi to the ground and she began to sink into it.

Just, when it looked like Mimi was fixing to go under, Blossom appeared and grabbed Mimi's hand pulling her out of the ground. Nega Mimi stared at Blossom in shock.

"Girl has no need to hide." Said Blossom.

"I'm stronger then you think." Said Blossom and Mimi in complete unison.

Blossom got behind, her daughter and then several people appeared behind Mimi. There was Dexter, Bubbles, Courage, Hoss, Irwin, Buttercup, Raven, Jeff, Martin, Mimi's grandfather Professor Utonium, Chi, Lapis, and Peridot. Mimi glanced back to the group behind her and smiled. She wasn't alone all the people she cared about were giving her support. Nega Mimi let out a roar as her hair shot out and tried to strike Mimi down. Mimi flew forward dodging and blasting though the hair, until she reached Nega Mimi's face and slammed both her fist into the evil entity's forehead. Nega Mimi screamed and exploded into red mist. A chunk of the red mist came together to form a normal size Nega Mimi, who flew forward and swung her scorpion tail at Mimi. Mimi caught the tail between the fingers of her lefthand and then she punch it with her righthand. The tail shattered to bits like it was made of porcelain and Nega Mimi screamed in pain.

In the real world Mimi's dinosaur tail fell off and turned to dust.

Back in Mimi's conscious, Mimi was pounding away at Nega Mimi. The evil entity desperately tried to fight back, but Mimi was to fast and full of determination. Nega Mimi swung her right claw at Mimi, who countered it with her fist and made Nega Mimi's arm shatter to bits. A few more blows and Nega Mimi's led arm was soon shattered to bits as well. Mimi reared her fist back and then slammed it into the right side of Nega Mimi's face, shattering it and knocking the evil entity's head off. The body of Nega Mimi crumbled as Mimi went over to the head and picked it up. Nega Mimi looked at Mimi fearfully.

"Now...Mimi let's talk about this. I only wanted to help you. If...we work together we could accomplish anything. We...could turn on dad and beat him and have Universe 622 all to ourselves! Don't remove me from your body!" Pleaded Nega Mimi.

Mimi stared at Nega Mimi for a few seconds.

"No vacate." Said Mimi.

"Oh thank you. You see we can work things out." Said Nega Mimi.

"Imprisonment." Said Mimi with a wicked little smirk on her face.

"Wait, WHAT?!" Cried Nega Mimi not liking the sound of that.

Mimi slammed the head into the ground and it sank through it vanishing from sight. Blossom and the others appeared before Mimi and she smiled at them.

"Thank you all." Said Mimi.

"Your welcome sweetie, now go wake up and live your life. Your destiny is yours now and we're proud of you." Said Blossom has she kissed Mimi's head.

Mimi smiled and nodded before, she woke up in the real world. The devilish features on Mimi were gone and her clothes were back to normal. There was a tiny red spot on the small of Mimi's back that had a face that looked like it was screaming in dismay It was the devil essence trapped in Mimi's body, but other then that Mimi's appearance was back to it's normal self. Jeff was overjoyed to see Mimi awake and she explained what happened through some writing and some pictures. After she was done explaining Mimi, asked Jeff to get her some new clothes and to get Phoebe.

An hour later Mimi was dressed in a pink dress that has a black stripe in the middle with a pink short skirt, white tights, and a pink bow. Mimi in a way resembled her mother, when she was 11. Phoebe showed up in the medical bay and faced Mimi.

"I'm sorry." Said Mimi.

"Hey it's ok. I get you have a crush on Finn and I know you had that devil essence stuff in you and it mad you act crazy. Jeff told me what happened to you and we saw this movie about your history. I want us to be friends Mimi and I wand to help you out in anyway I can." Said Phoebe as she offered Mimi her hand.

"Ok." Said Mimi with a smile as she shook Phoebe's hand.

Mimi planed to move forward with her life, from that point on.
