Chapter 213 Coliseum Challenge

Link and Midna headed down a hallway together, until they came across the cells Finn and the others were in. The Gerudo and Yiga saw them and raised their weapons. There were a total of six Gerudo and six Yiga guards. Link looked at the Gerudo and sheathed his sword.
"I'm not here to fight you. I wish to simply talk." Said Link as he addressed the Gerudo.
"The only talking you'll be doing is crying out in pain and begging for mercy as we beat you within a inch of your life!" Declared one of the Yiga as he prepared to attack with a sword.
"Wait! I wish to hear what he has to say." Said a Gerudo.
"Who cares what his going to say! His the enemy and he will be dead soon!" Snapped a Yiga.
"The Gerudo are a mighty and honorable race. You were once a traveling band of bandits and desert dwellers, but you have grown to be so much more then what you once were. It's true your ancestors may have started out bad, but that was because they were ruled by cruel evil leaders, who only cared about themselves. Since their fall many years ago you've created a city and established a good relationship with other people. Now those same cruel rulers wish to undo your hard work and lead you down a dark path. I know your a good kind race and I want to help you continue to be the way you are now. I want to help your tribe and I give you my word that I will defeat the the ones who terrorize you." Said Link.
"Oh such nonsense! The Gerudo exist to serve Master Ganondorf and nothing else. They are nothing, but weak willed fools without him!" Declared a Yiga.
"You know it's pretty funny. The guy who is supposedly your enemy treats you all with respect, while your masters and comrades treat you like dirt. I think you people have your enemies and comrades mixed up." Said Ling.
"Hold your tongue prisoner!" Yelled a Yiga.
"You lot charge in first, while we take the prisoner from behind." Said another Yiga as he pointed at Link and motioned for the Gerudo to attack him.
The Gerudo looked at Link, who stood his ground unarmed, with a pleading look in his eyes. The warrior women looked at one another and then they pointed their weapons at the Yiga.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Demanded a Yiga.
"We've decided that we are no longer your comrades. As of now there is no longer an alliance between us. We are helping Link." Said a Gerudo as she and her fellow warriors advanced on the Yiga.
The Ying were backing away nervously from their former comrades. The odds were not in their favor with the slightly larger attacking force and the small space of the dungeon. The Ying had to retreat and quickly inform their superiors. One Ying began to make threats as he backed into Finn's cell.
"You fools will regret this! Once Koume and Kotake hear about this they will utterly destroy you! This city belongs to us and we are the mas-"
CLANG!
THUNK!
The clang and the thunk were a result of Finn reaching through the bars of his cell, grabbing the Yiga from behind to slam him into the bars, and then dropping the unconscious Yiga to the ground. The other Yiga were startled by this sudden attack and a couple of them made a break for it, but Phoebe fired a fire blast through the bars of her cell that created a wall of flames that blocked their escape. The five remaining Yiga had no choice, but to try and fight their way through the Gerudo, Link, and Midna. They charged forward and their blades meet Gerudo steel. Link and Midna charged in to join in on the fight. Midna grabbed one Yiga with her large Twilight arm from her hair and slammed him into another Yiga knocking them out. A Yiga tried to take Link out, but the hero blocked his attack and slammed the hilt of his sword into the side of his enemy's head knocking him to the ground in an unconscious heap. The Gerudo easily dealt with the last two Yiga knocking them out as well. Link then went about freeing the other heroes from their cells.
"I'm surprised you three didn't use any of your powers to escape your cells." Said Link.
"We could have, but we decided to wait to see what was going to happen. Figured the Gerudo and Yiga hated each other, so I decided to try to us them to try and help us escape before showing our powers, but you beat me to it, when you arrived." Said Ling.
"So your really going to fight Koume and Kotake and force them out of our city?" Asked a Gerudo.
"That's the plan. They already set up a public place for us to do it, where the people of the city can see us. We just have to go there and challenge them." Said Link.
"How are you going to do that?" Asked a another Gerudo.
"Simple. Will walk in pretending to be prisoners and then we challenge the sisters to a fight." Said Finn.
"Exactly what I was thinking." Said Link.
"Flipping the tables. I like it." Said Midna with a chuckle.
The Gerudo took out some shackles and pretended to put them on the heroes. Midna hopped back into Link's shadow and the Gerudo threw the unconscious Yiga into a cell before escorting the heroes out of the dungeon and towards the coliseum.
The coliseum was perhaps the largest building in the city. It was also one of the oldest. The coliseum was packed with Gerudo and several dozen Yiga Clan members. Onox and Tyrian stood in the center of the arena with some large columns with chains. Koume and Kotake sat in a skybox overlooking the arena. The plan was to have Link and the other prisoners brought out and have them chained to the columns, before executing them in an extremely violent matter. It would be a wonderful display of power and cruelty that would force the Gerudo to pay absolute loyalty to Ganondorf or they would suffer the same fate. Soon the villains would send word to the guards in the dungeon to bring the prisoners and the festivities would begin.
It was then that six Gerudo marched into the arena with the heroes chained up. Koume and Kotake were a little startle by their sudden arrival, but they were happy to see their prisoners arrive, so they didn't think to much about it. As Link and the others got close to the center, the heroes threw off their shackles and drew their weapons. The crowd was a bit startled by this development, while the villains were outraged.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Demanded Koume glaring at the six Gerudo guards.
"Simply a challenge." Said Link.
"Challenge?" Asked Kotake.
"Yes. We challenge you to a fight for Gerudo City and the people who live in it. You win you get to kill us and keep the city, but if we win you leave and the Gerudo go free." Said Link.
"And why should we agree to this? We can just order our tribe to attack you and kill you." Said Koume.
"You could, but that would be pretty cowardly for a couple of so called strong witches. I think your tribe would start to doubt your powers and leadership skills." Said Finn.
Koume and Kotake exchanged a look and then they glanced at their people who were eyeing them with interest wondering what the witches would do. The sisters realized that they were in a tough spot and that they would lose face with their people if they didn't accept the challenge. They also realized that they lacked a large force to suppress any form of rebellion if the Gerudo started turning on them.
"Fine will accept your challenge." Said Koume.
"Will make it a four on four fight. The two of us will battle you along with General Onox and Tyrian." Said Kotake.
"But first a little punishment must be given to some traitors." Said Onox with a grin as he pointed a hand at the six Gerudo guards that had accompanied the heroes.
The Gerudo began to scream as their bodies were frozen and trapped in crystal prisons. The heroes and Gerudo audience let out gasp of shock and anger, while the Ying Clan members whooped loudly.
"Now the real fun begins!" Laughed Tyrian as he pulled out his blades.
Koume and Kotake flew down from their skybox and floated next to Onox and Tyrian to begin the fight.
"We will burn you to ashes!" Declared Koume as her hair lite up with flames and she unleashed a wave of fire at the heroes.
All the heroes, except for Phoebe jumped out of the way to avoid the attack. Phoebe just flew through the attack and flung herself at a startled Koume. Mot 'so hair became encased in ice and she quickly came to her sister's aid by blasting Phoebe in the shoulder with an ice blasting knocking the princess away from the witch. Phoebe hit the ground with a roll, but quickly jumped back to her feet ready to fight. Kotake laughed as she fired another at Phoebe, who countered with a fire blast that canceled out the attack. While that was going on Onox was swinging his ball and chain in a wide circle at Finn, Link, and Ling forcing the trio to jump and dodge about. Tyrian wanted to join in on the fun, so he charged in to attack Ling, with his blades. Ling managed to counter Tyrian's attacks with his sword and then the two locked blades. Onox who seemed oblivious to the fact that one of his teammates was locked in battle with Ling continued to swing his ball and chain around the area. The ball came swinging at Ling and Tyrian. Ling saw it and quickly dropped to the ground on his back, while Tyrian leaped into the air to avoid the attack. As Tyrian fell back to the ground, Ling kicked his legs up driving them into Tyrian's chest knocking the air out of him and sending him flying back a few yards to land near Onox's feet.
"Aaa! You over grown tin man, you messed me up!" Sneered Tyrian as he hopped to his feet to glare at Onox.
"You just stay out of my way bug, or I'll squish you like the others." Growled Onox.
"Oh I'd like to see you try, but right now I have some other people to kill. Don't worry I'll deal with you later." Said Tyrian with glare before he went charging back at Ling.
Ling decided he needed to get higher up for a better vantage point, so he began to climb one of the columns. Tyrian saw this and began to scale another column to go after him. Kotake and Phoebe were still going at each other with each of their attacks canceling each other out. Koume decided to sneak up behind Phoebe and launch a surprise attack with a fire blast. The attack hit Phoebe square in the back, but instead of knocking her to the ground or distracting the fiery princess from Kotake, Phoebe seemed to absorb the attack and become energized by it. Phoebe flung a fireball at Kotake, who countered with an ice blast, but instead of the attacks canceling each other out, Phoebe's attack burn right through Kotake's ice blast and slammed into the witch melting the ice on her hair a little, scorching her skin a bit, and sent her tumbling back a little before she used her powers to stop herself. Kotake looked at Phoebe and took notice of Koume floating behind her. It took the ice witch a few seconds to figure out what happened and she angrily flew past Phoebe to her sister.
"You idiot! Your stupid attack made her stronger! That girl is clearly made of fire, so fire magic won't hurt her!" Yelled Kotake.
"I thought she just had yellow skin and used fire magic!" Yelled Koume.
"Well clearly you need glasses!" Yelled Kotake.
"Well you need glasses then!" Yelled Koume.
Phoebe watched the witch sisters bicker for a few seconds, before flying forward and delivering a powerful punch to both their faces and sent them crashing to the ground a few yards away from each other. Koume and Kotake groaned as they laid on the ground stunned. The Gerudo applauded for Phoebe, while the Yiga members just booed and hissed.
Meanwhile Ling had reached the top of his column and was looking down at Onox trying to figure out how best to attack him, when a sixth sense told him to duck. Ling quickly ducked as several little bullets flew over his head. The young man turned to to see Tyrian on another column and revealed that his blades also functioned as guns. Tyrian let out an insane laugh before he leapt into the air to attack Ling. Ling leapt into the air to meet his attacker, but as they got close, Tyrian's scorpion tail shot out and struck Ling in the side of the neck! Ling let out a gasp as he felt the poison enter his body and he fell to the ground bellow.
"Have a nice fall!" Laughed Tyrian as he landed on a column and watched Ling crash to the ground.
"Ling!" Cried Link in dismay as he dodged one of Onox's swings and saw Ling crash into the ground.
Link was fixing to rush over to Ling, but Finn grabbed his shoulder and stopped him.
"We need to focus on stopping the big guy first. Don't worry about Ling, from what I know about him, his tougher then he looks and can recover from fatal wounds." Said Finn.
Link looked at Finn and nodded his head in understanding. The two warriors faced Onox and decided it was time to go on the offensive. Tyrian climbed down from his column feeling proud of himself as he prepared to start shooting at Finn and Link.
On the ground a few yards away Ling let out a pained groan. Greed was at work pushing the venom out of Ling's body. The venom was soon pushed out of the puncture wound on Ling's neck and he stood up.
"If its alright with you I'll deal with this one." Said Greed to Ling as he took control of Ling's body.
Greed marched up behind Tyrian and spun him around to face him. A confused and shocked expression appeared on Tyrian's face as he stared at Ling's body. Greed just grinned as he delivered a powerful punch to Tyrian face breaking his nose! Tyrian screamed in pain as he stumbled back clutching his broken and bloody nose.
"Yeah I bet that hurts." Chuckled Greed.
"Your going to suffer for that! You'll be screaming for death, before I'm done with you!" Snarled Tyrian before he struck his tail out at Greed's neck.
Greed quickly armored up his neck and the tail collided with it instead of flesh. The barb of the tail hit the armor and broke off! Tyrian let out a scream of pain and anger as he stumbled back clutching his tail. Greed quickly followed through with a powerful punch to Tyrian's head knocking him to the ground in a dazed heap.
"Nicely done Greed." Said Ling as he took control of his body again.
"Yeah. Yeah. There better be a festival or something thrown for us after this is all over." Muttered Geed.
Koume and Kotake were coming to and they saw Phoebe standing a few yards between them. The two sisters were overcome with rage at the sight of the fiery girl and they both laughed attackers at her. The attacks flew towards Phoebe, but at the last second the fire girl flew into the air and the two attacks flew by each other towards the sisters. Koume with struck by a ice blast that put out the flames on her head and made her feel cold, while Kotake was struck by a fire blast that melted the ice on her head and made her feel hot. Both sisters crashed to the ground groaning.
"Well that takes care of those two." Said Phoebe.
Finn and Link raced towards Onox dodging his swings, until they reached the big armored man and began to dish out blows with their swords striking his armor and body. Onox stumbled back with cuts and scratches on his armor and swung his ball and chain more wildly forcing Link and Finn to jump back. The heroes were fixing to charge at the general again, but Onox came up with a new strategy. Onox pointed a hand at one of the Gerudo he imprisoned in crystal and it floated off the ground and hovered in front of his body. Finn rushed at Onox from the side to strike him, but the crystal with the Gerudo floated in front of him preventing him from attacking the general.
"You cheat! Your using that women as a shield!" Yelled Finn pointing an accusing finger at Onox.
"It is simply strategy. You heroes have a weakness to protect the innocent and I simply exploited it. I will win this fight by any means!" Said Onox with a cruel laugh.
Finn tried to get around the crystal, but it kept floating into his path. Link tried to get at Onox, but the crystal did the same thing to him and Onox managed to keep Finn away from him with a wild swing of his ball and chain. It seemed like the heroes were on the ropes, until Finn decided to do something different. When the crystal blocked his way again, he grabbed it and used his powers to hold it in place to keep it from floating over to block Link's path. Link dodged Onox's attacks and delivered a few powerful blows to the general knocking him back. Onox's rage seemed to increase and he swung his ball and chain more wildly slamming it into the ground creating large cracks in it as he attempted to strike Link with it, but the hero kept moving. Phoebe decided to lend a hand by firing a blast of fire that severed the chain in half. Onox was shocked by the sudden destruction of his weapon and he stared at the severed chain stunned. Link took this opportunity to charge at Onox to deliver a powerful slash to his chest that made the general stumble back and double over.
"Time to end this!" Declared Finn as he let go of the crystal and grabbed the other half of the ball and chain.
Finn's body glowed blue as he swung the ball and chain up and brought it crashing down on Onox's exposed back! Onox let out a loud bellow of pain as he crashed to the ground with his weapon on top of him. There was a large cracking sound as more cracks appeared on the ground around Onox and then the ground caved in under Onox opening up a large hole, which Onox fell through with a shout of dismay as he vanished! Apparently there were some deep caves beneath the coliseum. The crowd was completely stunned by this development. Link and the others turned to the crowd and Link raised his sword.
"People of Gerudo City! You are free now!" Shouted Link.
The crowd cheered with joy. Tyrian came to and stumbled over to Koume and Kotake who were starting to recover. The three villains took notice of the heroes coming towards them.
"You lost the challenge now leave the city." Said Link.
"You may have won the battle, but the war is still on and we will win it!" Sneered Koume.
"Ganondorf will return and then you'll be sorry." Said Kotake.
Tyrian grabbed onto Kotake's broomstick and the two witches and assassin flew off. The crystals holding the Gerudo shattered freeing the prisoners and Gerudo in the stands began to surround and advance towards the Yiga Clan members. The Yiga members quickly dropped smoke bombs and quickly took off running as fast as they could towards the nearest city exits with a bunch of angry Gerudo behind them.
"Well you freed the Gerudo and saved the city. Perhaps there's hope for my people after all." Said Midna as she rose up in her shadow form.

Clap!
The heroes and Midna turned to see Ghirahim standing a few yards away clapping.
"Bravo! Bravo! I must say that was a very impressive show you put on." Said Ghirahim.
"Who are you?" Demanded Link as he pointed his sword at the newcomer.
"Oh I could tell you who I am and what I'm about, but that would ruin the tension and drama. Let's just say I'm a really big player in Hyrule's history that's fixing to make some big changes to the world. Now if you'll excuse me I must be going, but don't you fret my lovelies you'll be seeing more of me soon enough." Said Ghirahim.
Link let out a yell as he leaped at Ghirahim swinging his sword, but as the blade struck, Ghirahim vanished and Link's blade his the sand. The heroes and Midna looked around for Ghirahim, but there was no sigh of him. The battle was won, but there seemed to be bigger things at play in Hyrule.
