Part 10
Caitlin stopped in Jitters on her way to Star Labs in the morning. She was surprised that the line was actually moving rather fast. When she reached the counter she smiled at Iris. While they weren't super close friends they were more of friends then they had been on the old Earth.
"Hey Caitlin." Said Iris
"Hey Iris. Could I get my usual?"
"Sure. I bet that you are happy that Barry is awake."
"I am. It means I don't have spend nearly as much time at Star Labs. I was only going home to sleep. That was because Dr. Wells wouldn't let me sleep at the lab."
"That may have been for the best. I mean how much sleep would you have gotten sitting next to Barry's bed?"
"Not nearly enough. Not that I got a ton most nights alone in bed."
"Will you tell Barry to call me? I mean I haven't seen him since he woke up."
"I will do that. Maybe you two can get together for lunch one day. Charlie and I have to go see our mom about something on Friday. So maybe you two can have lunch then."
"That would be great. I really see why he loves you so much."
"So how are things with you and Eddie?"
"Good but lately I get the feeling that he is keeping something from me."
"Maybe he is thinking of asking you to marry him."
"It is possible. I mean we have talked about it a little. But I know Eddie. He is going to want to ask my dad for permission."
"If my dad was alive I am sure Barry would have asked him. Iris don't worry Eddie loves you. So just trust him."
"Thanks Caitlin, I will."
Caitlin grabbed her coffee said bye to Iris and headed for Star Labs. She arrived to find the man she knew was really Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash. He was standing waiting for her instead of sitting in his wheelchair.
"Well Caitlin, you don't seem to be surprised to see me standing." Said Thawne
"Well why should I? I mean I know you are not Harrison Wells. You killed him after you killed Nora Allen so you could take over his life."
"That is unfortunate that you know that. I liked you. But now you are going to have to die."
Thawne started to move towards her with a vibrating hand planning on shredding her heart. But before he could she was gone in a flash of yellow/orange lightning. Then Barry stood before him in his Flash suit.
"You aren't going to harm my wife Thawne."
"Well nice to see you found a way to survive crisis Barry."
"So how did you survive Thawne?"
"Once my body was destroyed my consciousness was preserved in the negative speed force. Now I get to end you once and for all."
"Yeah wouldn't count on that happening." Said Cisco jumping out of a breach with Frost.
"Well it looks like the gang is all here."
"You are going to wish you stayed dead." Said Frost
"Frost, this is new. Never thought you and Caitlin would split. But then again in the future I came from you ended up on Waller's Suicide Squad. That is until you quit when she ordered you to kill Superman."
"If I wanted to kill anyone it would be you not a hero. But I am not a killer. Never was." Said Frost
"Too bad because the only way any of you will stop me is to kill me. But Barry you had that chance once. You could have killed me when we fought when I was working with the Earth-Xers. But ever the hero you let me go. Now I am going to end all of you. But first I am going to make you suffer. I am going to kill everyone you care about. I might start with dear old dad. Or maybe that sister you got in this reality." Said Thawne
"You really think that I will let you hurt my family? I may not have been able to stop you from killing my mom. But you will not harm my dad, sister or my wife." Said Barry
"You can't be with them all the time. Poor Caitlin is pretty defenseless now that she and Frost aren't merged. So she will be easy pickings."
Frost glared at Thawne her eyes glowing as she sent a powerful blast at him sending him flying into a wall. Cisco followed with a blast of his own before Thawne could recover. When Thawne was able to get to his feet he took off realizing that he was not prepared to take on all three of them at this time. So he took off in a flash of red lightning.
"Barry aren't you going to go after him?" asked Frost
"Not now. We need to prepare to set our trap for him. Kara will definitely be on board to help us send him to the Phantom Zone for good. She will not have forgotten the bastard that was going to cut out her heart." Said Barry
"Yeah want to go get Caitlin from wherever you took her? Cause there is the little matter of the fact that I heard her voice in my head saying she needed help." Said Cisco
"Uh yeah that was a surprise to me too." Said Barry
"That is for Caity to explain." Said Frost
"Where did you take her anyway?" asked Cisco
"The Arrow bunker. I figured that Oliver and his team would be able to protect her."
Just then Barry's phone rang. He looked to see that it was Oliver. He answered.
"Hi Oliver."
"Barry seeing as Felicity tells me that Thawne is gone come and get your wife. I am getting a headache from her yelling in my head. Dig is freaked out by her." Said Oliver
"Yeah uh I didn't know about her powers until today. I can have Cisco open a breach so she can come back."
"Good though if you need help with Thawne let me know. Though I am coming there with Caitlin. She did explain that Iris is not part of team Flash in this reality."
"Yeah. I actually think that Cait is better for me then Iris was."
"I could have told you that. See you in a bit."
Barry hung up and turned to Cisco.
"Will you go get Cait and Oliver?" asked Barry
"Yeah so which bunker is it?" asked Cisco
"The last one. The one right before crisis."
"Be right back."
Cisco opened a breach and jumped through. He returned five minutes later with Caitlin, Oliver, Felicity, Laurel and Diggle. As soon as she stepped out of the breach Caitlin was in Barry's arms.
"Don't ever do that again." Said Caitlin hugging Barry.
"I will do anything to keep you safe. I love you Cait."
"Love you too."
"Now I think everyone wants an explanation on what happened." Said Barry
"Yeah I guess I owe it to them. Though Charlie already knows."
"Of course you told your sister."
"Can you two can the lovey dovey crap. I want to know why I was in my apartment this morning and heard you Caitlin yelling in my head!" said Cisco
"Because I am a meta. I am a telepath. I can project my thoughts and pick up on others. I have gain fairly good control over it in the last nine months. It's just when I get scared I kind of lose control. That is what happened this morning when I thought Thawne was going to kill me." Said Caitlin
"So you can like read my thoughts?" asked Cisco
"Not unless I want to any more. The first month or so was a bit rough. It was why I was trying to avoid being around you and most people. But it was also how I knew Barry was going to be ok. I could hear his thoughts in the coma. I will spare you the details."
"Why didn't you tell me?" asked Barry
"I didn't know how."
"Not to interrupt but am I the only one seeing double?" asked Diggle
"Sorry Dig. That is a change due to crisis. Frost, or I should say Charlie and I are twins in this reality. She is not just the meta that shares my body." Said Caitlin
"My life was normal until you people came into it." Said Dig
"If you call normal helping a former playboy billionaire take down all the corrupt people in your city." Said Laurel
"So uh Laurel how does it feel to be alive again?" asked Barry
"It is weird. I remember dying. But now I am alive and am not planning on dying again. Though if Darhk shows up I won't be as easy to take down. I don't need tech to make a canary cry any more. I was here in Central City when the particle accelerator exploded. I'm a meta." Said Laurel
"Felicity do you think that you can improve the security here? I mean it would be nice not to have just anyone walk in on us." Said Barry
"Sure just give me a little time."
Felicity moved to one of the computers and began to type away. It took her over three hours to put together a much improved security system. No one was going to be able to get into Star Labs that didn't belong. Well at least through the doors. There wasn't much that could be done about a meta breaching in. But Felicity was able to make it very hard to be able to phase in by creating a pulse that went through the walls roof and floors that changed frequencies. Once Felicity was done with the upgrades Team Arrow returned to Star City.
Yes Caitlin is a meta. No she hadn't told anyone other than her sister.
