Part 11
Caitlin was in her lab going over some tests when Barry walked in.
"Why didn't you tell me about your powers? I think that you once yelled at me for keeping secrets. But then again keeping your powers secret is kind of a habit of yours." Said Barry
"I don't know why I didn't tell you. When Charlie found out she flipped out a little. She thought I was always going to be in her head knowing what she was thinking."
"You have control?"
"For the most part. I am thinking of talking to J'onn and seeing if maybe he can help me. I know my powers are a little different from his. But as a Martian one of his powers is telepathy."
"That might be a good idea. Do you know what I am thinking right now?"
"I don't need powers to know that. I know you better then you know yourself. Barry it is not your fault I have these powers. Just like it wasn't your fault that Frost exists. My dad is to blame for Frost. The Thawne from this reality is to blame for my having these powers."
"I know. But Cait if our marriage is going to work we need to be honest with each other."
"I know. I promise that I won't keep secrets from you any more. But you can't keep any from me either."
"I won't I promise. So what is it like to hear other people's thoughts?"
"Very disturbing. Do you know that there are guys in this city that have some crazy fantasies."
"Does that include Cisco?"
"Yes! Barry, you don't want to know what he thinks about. I mean it is enough to scar you for life. You will never be able to watch Star Wars the same way again."
"Cait, if it is the thing with Leila in the gold bikini. Most Star Wars nerds have that one."
"That is so not it. His involves a wookie costume."
"Ok I so do not need that image in my head. Think that we should tell Kamilia about that?"
"I would rather not have to explain how I know about it."
"Good point."
"You two done making nice? Cause I need to talk to my sister." Said Charlie
"Sure see you later Cait. Love you." Said Barry
"Love you too." Said Caitlin
Barry gave Caitlin a kiss then left the room. Charlie closed the door and took a deep breath.
"Caity, don't be mad. But I had Cisco vibe Ronnie."
"Why Charlie? I am happy with Barry. I mean it is good to know he is alive. He and Stein fused together?"
"Yeah and just like last time not very stable. But the reason I had Cisco vibe him is because in this reality he and I were dating. I am in love with him."
"Then we need to help him and Stein. So the two of you can be together. I want you to be happy, and from what I know of Ronnie from this reality he is much like the one I knew. Though unlike with him and me you two are literally fire and ice."
"You really are ok with this? I mean I thought maybe you would be jealous that Ronnie chose me over you in this reality."
"Char, you are my sister and I love you. I want you to be happy. Barry makes me happier than I have been in my life in either reality. I want that for you."
"You know you are the best sister in the world Caity."
"I guess it helps that I am your only sister right?"
"Yeah. But still if we had five other sisters you would be the best and my favorite."
Caitlin hugged Charlie.
"How about we talk to the guys and see about getting you your boyfriend back. I may also have an idea on how to break the Firestorm bond and let Ronnie keep the powers if he wants."
"You could always run your idea by that future A.I. to see if it will work."
"I never thought of that. Why we never thought to use Gideon more I will never know. But come on lets go talk to Barry and Cisco."
"One other thing Caity. We need to due something about Eiling. I am not going to get my man back only for him to have to go on the run. But then again he will want all of us too. He might really want you cause you now have the ability to do what he was experimenting on Grodd to do."
"I know. Personally Eiling can join Thawne in the Phantom Zone for being the sadistic bastard he is."
"Right there with ya."
The two of them walked out into the cortex and found the guys waiting for them.
"Ok guys we are going to find Firestorm while we have time before Thawne comes after us again." Said Caitlin
"Do we know which Firestorm we are looking for?" asked Barry
"Ronnie and Stein." Said Charlie
"I can try and vibe them. But are you ok with this Caitlin?" asked Cisco
"I am fine. Besides I am not the Snow that Ronnie is in love with in this reality. It's Charlie. I feel they are a better fit anyway. Ronnie would love to go white water rafting with Charlie. Though I know since Barry promised to go with her before crisis I will be dragged along too. That means you and Kamilia are going too Cisco." Said Caitlin
"Give me something of Ronnie's Frosty." Said Cisco
Charlie pulled a t-shirt of Ronnie's out of her bag and handed it to Cisco. It only took a minute for Cisco to find out where Firestorm was.
"The bridge where we found them last time." Said Cisco
"Barry get the splicer." Said Caitlin
Barry took off and returned a minute later with the splicer. Then the four of them jumped through a breach to the bridge. Remembering how he was before Caitlin spoke to the man that she was once in love with but used the name of a man she considered almost like an Uncle.
"Professor Stein? I know you don't know us. But we want to help you and Ronnie. We have a quantum splicer that will make it so the two of you can separate." Said Caitlin
"Yes a quantum splicer will do the trick. Ronnie says we can trust you. But it is too dangerous to try this in the city." Said Firestorm
"I can open a breach for you to the badlands outside the city. That way if something were to go wrong the city will be out of the blast radius." Said Cisco
"Good idea. The ladies should not come with us." Said Firestorm
"We are heading back to Star Labs. We can keep an eye on things from there." Said Caitlin
Cisco opened a breach for Caitlin and Charlie to jump through. Then opened a second one to send Firestorm and himself to the badlands. Barry ran off to wait on the edge of the badlands. Once in the badlands Cisco attached and activated the quantum splicer before breaching to safety at Star Labs with the Snow sisters. He found Caitlin on the phone talking to someone.
"Yeah Lyla in a few minutes there is a good chance that there will be an explosion in the badlands outside of Central City. It is just us stabilizing and splitting the unstable merge of Firestorm. So if that happens think you could cover it up for us? The last thing we need is for Eiling to show up here." Said Caitlin
"Caity is hoping Lyla will keep the evil General out of our hair." Said Charlie
"I figured. Though I get the feeling that if Eiling were to come after Ronnie you might turn him into a popsicle." Said Cisco
"More like freeze his tongue off and his fingers too."
"Now that is the Frosty I know. Scary but not all bad."
"Love you too Cisco."
Caitlin hung up and joined them at the consul.
"Lyla is going to cover and say any explosion that happens was part of a training exercise for ARGUS. Did you know that she is already Director and that Waller is dead. She was killed a few years ago during a terrorist attack in Hong Kong." Said Caitlin
"Probably Oliver's doing while she was forcing him to work for ARGUS." Said Charlie
"Most likely." Said Caitlin
Just then an alert went off as an explosion was detected in the badlands.
"Barry, check on Stein and Ronnie. Cisco is going to breach us there to help search for them." Said Caitlin
"On my way." Said Barry over coms.
Cisco looked at the two sisters and opened a breach they all jumped through.
