Part 13

Ronnie followed Charlie into her apartment. He watched as she tossed her leather jacket on a chair.

"You want me to order some pizza?" asked Charlie

"Yeah that would be great babe." Said Ronnie

"Go a head and grab a beer from the fridge. I will call and then we can talk."

Ronnie walked into the kitchen and grabbed a beer for both of them. It was odd not seeing a bottle of wine in the fridge. But then he remembered that Charlie didn't like wine. She was a beer drinker. Caitlin was the wine drinker. Oh don't get him wrong in the right situation Caitlin would drink vodka or some fruity drink. But mostly it was wine. Charlie on the other had drank beer or whiskey mostly but did drink mixed drinks too. It kind of made since that she owned her own bar. But he knew she was also a talented artist.

"Pizza will be here in half an hour or so." Said Charlie sitting on the couch grabbing her beer from the table.

"Cool. Oh wait sorry you probably don't like cold references like that." Said Ronnie

"Actually they don't bother me. Just don't bring up anything related to the movie Frozen."

"So don't call you Elsa and ask if you want to build a snowman. Or tell you to let it go."

"Yeah. You ok that Caity is with Barry?"

"Yeah I mean looking back on things now. I can see that when I came back after they restored Stein and me to ourselves in the old reality she was different. I think she had fallen for him by then."

"Yeah she had. I of course at that time was locked away in her head. But there were times I could see and feel what she was feeling. Back then for being in love with other people they sure as hell were willing to do anything to protect the other. Even die for them. There was a time before we knew you were alive in the old reality that Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold and Mick Rory aka Heatwave kidnapped Caity and threatened to kill her in order to expose that the Flash was real. Caity told Barry not to come from her. He did expose himself of course. But that wasn't the only time. When they were dealing with Zoom Caity begged him not to kill Barry. Told him if anything he ever felt for her was real then he would let Barry live. Of course while it did spare Barry's life it also got her kidnapped. Come to think of it. I am pretty sure that Caity was kidnapped or taken prisoner by our enemies more than Iris West was. That does include the time nearly all the heroes got taken prisoner and nearly killed by the Earth-X doppelgangers of Oliver Queen and Supergirl. Thawne had teamed up with them. At that time I was no longer completely locked up. But we had called a truce and weren't in a constant battle for control of our shared body. I mean Caity had control most of the time. But I would take over when she got scared or angry. They were after Supergirl's heart. Their Supergirl who I think was called Overgirl was dying. She had flown to close to their sun and was suffering from solar radiation poisoning."

"Ok I am familiar with the theory of the multiverse but what is Earth-X?"

"Nazis won World War 2 and took over that Earth."

"Not the kind of place I would want to visit."

"Yeah well our Oliver killed his Nazis counterpart and Overgirl blew up so unless they were somehow reborn with the multiverse we shouldn't have to worry about them."

"Anything else I should know?"

"Well there was this evil history Professor that used his super intelligence to try and turn everyone on earth into uncaring mindless drones that he was going to shape into how he thought humanity should be. Oh and there was an evil version of Barry that wanted to kill Iris. I kind of teamed up with him when I was freed from my prison in Caity's head locking her up in my place. But I turned on him when he was going to kill Cisco."

"Sounds like things got a bit crazy after I died."

"Yeah they did."

Just then there was a knock on the door. Charlie got up and paid for the pizza and they sat down to eat together.

Thawne could not believe that he had not been prepared for Cisco and Frost to help Barry. But how they got there that fast before he could kill Caitlin was beyond him. This new universe really did have some major differences from the old one. But one thing he did realize was the same was that he had a hand in turning Dr. Thomas Snow into an ice meta. Of course it helped that Mr. Freeze was also part of it. Not that Freeze would be happy to see him after his double cross. Thawne had promised the man he would help find a cure for his wife's illness. But that had been a lie. Of course Thawne knew how to cure the woman. But he would gain nothing from helping the woman so he never gave it to Victor Fries. Now he just had to track down where Caitlin and Charlie Snow's father was imprisoned and set him free to get those two out of the way. Cisco was going to be another issue. But he had an idea. He would go after the woman that he was in love with. Luckily he had done his research and knew that the woman was destined to be a famous photographer. He knew from experience that Cisco would betray Barry if the life of someone he loves was threatened. He told Leonard Snart that Barry was the Flash in the old reality when the life of his brother who he didn't even like very much was threatened. So by threatening to kill Kamilia Hwang he should fall in line and not get in his way to kill Barry Allen.

Charlie laid in bed next to Ronnie later that night. She was glad to have him back. She truly did love him. She had made so many mistakes when it came to guys in the past. More then one now had a criminal record including Mark. He had broken in and stolen things from Ivo Labs. Not that Anthony Ivo was a good person. But Mark it turned out hadn't just robbed Ivo Labs but killed a security guard. Even in the old universe that was a line she had not crossed in anything but self defense. Yes she had tried to kill Tracey Brand. Not as hard as she could have. If she had really wanted to kill the woman she would have been killed. So the worse she had done was kidnap and stab the people who were Caitlin's friends and for the most part had become her friends. Hell Tracey had even forgiven her for trying to kill her.

"You know your feet are like a block of ice." Mumbled Ronnie

"Not my fault I am a cryogenic metahuman. That if things are the same as in the old universe my dad's fault."

"Maybe I can do something to heat you up some."

Charlie smiled and kissed Ronnie before they started to make love for the first time in nearly a year.
