Part 19

Ronnie walked through the halls of Star Labs. It was so different then he remembered. Cisco was busy working on what he called the speed lab. Whatever that was. Barry had told him that he could pick out one of the unused labs for his own. But that could wait. Charlie told him that apparently on one of the upper floors of one of the undamaged towers was an employee lounge. A lounge he had known nothing about. But then again no one else had either before Nora the daughter of Barry and Iris from the old reality had told them about it. He had found it a few minutes ago. He had to admit that the view of the city was nice. He did have some ideas about repairing and improving the building. Well once they dealt with Thawne once and for all. Eobard Thawne was the reason that he had lost so much time with Caitlin in the old reality and that he had died. But looking back at things now Charlie Snow was a much better fit for him. Sure they were literally fire and ice. But Charlie was much more willing to go out and do adventurous things. In the two years they had been together before the particle accelerator explosion the two of them had been rock climbing. They had also gone scuba diving when they had taken a trip to Coast City.

"You ok Ronnie?"

Ronnie turned to see Barry leaning against the wall.

"Yeah. Just thinking. Barry, I am totally cool with you and Cait being together. She is a lot happier with you then she has ever been with me. I mean you two have been together a long time."

"I love her. I think I did in the old reality too. Even thought about asking her out a couple of times. I mean I would have had to be blind not to have noticed how beautiful she is. I mean I had noticed right a way that she didn't smile much in the old reality when we officially met. I mean she had been looking after me for nine months while I was in the coma. Cisco told me once back then I was the one that brought a smile back to her face."

"Cait was always guarded with me at first. But she has always had a good heart. Charlie has the same good heart. But personality wise very different."

"Tell me about. For a while she had a lot of anger management issues. But once you get past her icyness pun not intended. There is no one better to have your back. Though she did make me promise if I survived crisis that I would go white water rafting with her."

"Maybe we should make it a weekend trip for the four of us. You and Cait. Me and Charlie."

"That would be great. Though I am not sure Cait would agree."

"Yeah you are right about that. So after we get Thawne out of the way for good I got some ideas on how to fix this place up."

"Yeah that is great. One of the first things we need to due is fix the hole in the roof and the crumbling tower."

"We will do that. I also think we should move operations for team Flash to the pipeline. I plan to start dismantling the particle accelerator on Monday. That way it can't be turned back on."

"Good. But I want to keep the cortex and that whole area as part of the base. Cait really likes her lab down there."

"That is fine. Cisco has his lab down there and I am going to set up my own."

"I want to keep a dozen cells in the pipeline in case any of us gets whammied by some meta or alien that can control us."

"That is a good idea."

"Cisco, Cait and I have all been locked in the pipeline at least once."

"Charlie told me that when she was sharing Caitlin's body and took over they ended up there after Cisco vibe blasted them."

"There was also the time evil dopplegangers from Earth-X of Oliver Queen and Supergirl along with Thawne crashed my wedding to Iris."

"Earth-X that was the Nazi Earth I was told about right?"

"Yeah. No idea if you, Cait or I had Nazi dopplegangers. Cisco if he had a doppleganger on that Earth would most likely have been part of the Freedom Fighters along with Leonard Snart."

"That is different."

"Yeah I know. But Leo as he liked to be called saved my life so I just go with it. What was really weird is that on two Earths Laurel Lance was a meta and evil. Though Earth-2 Laurel changed so anything is possible."

Ronnie nodded. He then looked at his phone when it went off.

"Charlie and Caitlin are back. I am going to head over to see my girlfriend."

"Ok see you later."

Ronnie left and Barry pulled out his phone and called his wife.

"Hey sweetie." Said Caitlin

"Hey Cait. How did it go with your mom?"

"Better then I thought. It is the same thing as before. My dad is Icicle and should be locked up in the decommissioned Tannhouser site in the arctic. Unless he escaped or was freed some how."

"Thawne might do something like that. Use your dad to distract us like he did when he kidnapped Eddie. Is your mom going to look into seeing if the meta cure will work on your dad?"

"Yeah. We might have to trick him into taking it."

"Like tell him it is something that will kill off his human side?"

"Yeah. It might be underhanded. But sometimes we do have to go into the grey area for the greater good."

"Cait, I know from Oliver that sometimes you have to do things you don't like for the greater good. If tricking Icicle is the only way to bring your dad back then we have to do it."

"Thanks."

"So it's Friday night and at least for now the meta criminals are behaving. So what do you say to me taking my beautiful wife out for dinner? Maybe Mario's?"

"You know I will never say no to Italian. I am just arriving home so come meet me and we can head out soon."

"Be there in a flash."
