Part 23
Barry skidded to a stop inside the cortex and handed Caitlin the note that he found in Carla's office.
"I found that right before I left. I think the reason Carla's phone is going right to voicemail is that it is incased in a block of ice." Said Barry
Caitlin read the note with Charlie looking over her shoulder. They exchanged a look before turning to the group sitting around them.
"Icicle has mom." Said Caitlin
"He wants Caity and I to meet him in Riverside park at noon tomorrow or he and Thawne will kill her." Said Charlie
"Hate to say it but we may need back up." Said Cisco
"I'll call Oliver and see if he can come." Said Barry
"We need to call Kara too." Said Caitlin
"What about Black Lightning? He might be able to help siphon Thawne's speed off him." Said Charlie
"That might actually work." Said Caitlin
"I know who we can ask. Someone who knows more about being a speedster than any of us." Said Barry
Jesse smiled knowing who Barry was talking about.
"Let me have the ring and I will go get him." Said Jesse
Caitlin handed over the ring while everyone began making calls. Seconds later Jesse returned with Jay and Joan Garrick with her.
"Well kids nice to see the whole team together." Said Jay
"Well Iris is not part of this, and Joe is at work." Said Barry
"True so what do you need an aging speedster like me for? I mean you got three speedsters in their prime here." Said Jay
"We have a friend goes by Black Lightning. He can pull electricity around him and absorb it to use himself." Said Caitlin
"I am familiar with the man. Haven't had the pleasure of actually meeting him. Let me guess you want him to help you sever the Reverse Flash's connection to the negative speed force to make it easier to capture and imprison him somewhere." Said Jay
"We plan to use a device Supergirl has to send him to the Phantom Zone." Said Barry
"Supergirl related to Superman? I raced Superman once years ago. We tied." Said Jay
"Supergirl is Superman's cousin." Said Charlie
Jay looked at the two sisters and chuckled.
"Well this is new. But then again I still have my memories of this earth so I already knew that Caitlin had a sister who is Frost right?" said Jay
"Yeah. It's Charlie unless we are in the field." Said Charlie
"Yeah we are going to need a way to tell you two Flashes apart. Wally is Kid Flash, Jesse is Quick." Said Cisco
"Well I am referred to as the Crimson Comet." Said Jay
"Let's just go with Comet. Short and to the point." Said Cisco
"Fine with me." Said Jay
Barry called Jefferson Pierce while Caitlin called Kara and Cisco called Oliver. It wasn't long before their friends arrived. Once introductions were done for those that hadn't met they got down business.
"Ray Palmer gave me speed sucking nanites." Said Oliver
"Like we used before good." Said Cisco
"Jefferson, once we slow Thawne down we need you to use your ability to absorb electricity to sever his connection to the negative speed force. Both the negative and regular speed forces more or less are filled with electricity. It is why when a speedster runs you will see a trail of lightning." Said Barry
"Cold can also slow a speedster down. But I maybe a bit busy dealing with Icicle." Said Charlie
"Who is Icicle?" asked Kara
"Icicle would be the evil male version of Frost that has taken over Charlie and mine's dad who it turns out is not dead. He has also kidnapped my mom." Said Caitlin
"Your dad is an evil ice meta?" asked Diggle
"Yeah." Said Caitlin
"Did I mention that my life was normal until I met any of you." Said Diggle
"Normal? I don't think any part of your life was normal." Said Oliver
"What do we need to do to capture Icicle?" asked Kara"
"We need to find a way to get a pair of meta cuffs on him. That should force Thomas Snow back in control. Well at least if he is just like Caity and I were in the old reality. But any way it will prevent him from trying go turn all of us into popsicles." Said Charlie
"Does he have any weaknesses we can exploit?" asked Oliver
"If he is anything like Charlie then while he will be able to absorb some heat to fuel his powers too much heat will weaken him." Said Caitlin
"It is true. Back in the old reality Barry pulled me into flashtime to try and cool this nuke that had gone critical. It was the first time I had felt heat like that and nearly passed out." Said Charlie
"I remember that. That Earth-2 Harrison Wells wanted to chuck it into the speed force. But I told Barry that was a very bad idea. As it could destroy the speed force and sever every speedster through all time from it." Said Jay
"So I guess I am on the take down team for Icicle. Oh that is just great. I got to stop my girlfriend's father's evil meta personality." Said Ronnie
"Bet you never thought you would say something like that." Said Cisco
"Never." Said Ronnie
"You will also get to meet mom. Something you didn't get to do before." Said Caitlin
"Great. Just great." Mumbled Ronnie
"Carla isn't so bad. Just don't hurt her daughter. Or she might find a way to make you wish you were dealing with Eiling instead of her." Said Barry
"Well mom actually likes you Barry. I don't think she liked any of the guys I dated in high school." Said Charlie
"Yeah well Mark did get you arrested for shoplifting. Plus there is the fact he took her diamond pendant that dad gave her on their wedding day." Said Caitlin
"Do I need to remind you of Zack Myers? Didn't he convince you to get him the answers to Mrs. Carter's biology test?" asked Charlie
"Don't remind me. Barry, I will tell you later." Said Caitlin
Caitlin walked off heading into the med bay. Barry started to go after her but J'onn stopped him.
"Let me talk to her. Barry, as someone who has a sibling sometimes you need someone who understands what it is like to be reminded of your mistakes." Said J'onn
Barry nodded and let J'onn follow Caitlin.
