Part 29

Barry sat in the car next to Caitlin while she drove out of the Star Labs parking lot.

"What is going on with you?" asked Barry

"I just can't deal with my dad. I felt like I was going to lose control of my powers near him. J'onn recommended that if possible until I get better at controlling these powers in heightened emotional situations that I remove myself from them when possible. Until I pointed it out he didn't even think he had done anything wrong messing with Charlie's genetic make up. He all but admitted that if he had found I had the genetic marker for ALS he would have done the same thing to me."

"I get you need to cool off. But you do know that you won't be able to run from him or your mom forever."

"I understand that. But right now I just need to get away for a while. By the way how did it go with Singh?"

"Good. I caught him up on what happened. Told him that Thawne would not be a problem any more. That he is now locked up in a nearly impossible prison to escape from."

"I am not sad that he is out of our lives. Hell from what I remember from before crisis Frost wanted to turn him into a block of ice. I would not have lost sleep over his death."

"I am glad that Frost never lived up to the name of Killer Frost. I don't count the Earth-X Nazis."

"Neither do I. They would have killed all of us. So that was self defense."

"Cait, what are we going to do if Zoom shows up?"

"Well if it is like last time and he is dying from cellular degeneration let him die. Only because he would be responsible for it. He would be the one that chose to take a dangerous speed drug."

"Very true. You haven't been working on any speed drugs have you?"

"No and I don't plan to. You don't need it. Besides I think you can take Zoom in a race. You are faster than him."

"I am glad you feel that way."

"Well I have faith in my husband."

"That is good to know. Would you be mad if I had to spend a long time in the speed force for some reason?"

"Well I might not be happy about it. But I would understand and work my ass off to find a way to safely bring you home. Of course not repeating what happened before with Devoe."

"Of course. How about we go get some coffee at Jitters?"

"Good idea. We still have to do that dinner date with Iris and Eddie. But I think we should get Charlie and Ronnie out of it. Charlie really does not like Iris very much."

"Yeah that is probably a good idea."

Five minutes later Barry and Caitlin walked into Jitters to find Eddie and Iris sitting together. Barry headed over to the counter to order while Caitlin headed over to the detective and inspiring reporter. Iris spotted her and smiled.

"Hey Caitlin. Is Barry here?" said Iris

"Hey Iris, Eddie. Barry is at the counter ordering." Said Caitlin

"Here have a seat." Said Eddie standing up and pulling out a chair.

"Thank you Eddie."

"So Caitlin did you hear about the Flash and Frost teaming up with Superman, Supergirl and Green Arrow to fight some speedster and an ice meta?" asked Iris

"Yeah I heard something about that."

"I wish I could talk to them and get details."

"Yeah well no one knows who they are or how to find them." Said Eddie

"Who are you talking about?" asked Barry

"The Flash and Frost and their team up with other heroes." Said Iris

Caitlin took her coffee from Barry and the chocolate chip muffin giving him a kiss.

"So what is going on with you two?" asked Eddie

"My parents are in town." Mumbled Caitlin

"Cait and her mom don't get along very well, and her dad who she believed died turned out didn't he just walked out on his family." Said Barry

"That is horrible!" said Iris

"He thought he was doing the right thing. But I don't agree and neither does Charlie." Said Caitlin

"Iris, I think that it will be best if just the four of us go to dinner. Charlie and Ronnie are just getting back to their relationship after he got his memory back. He had been hurt in the particle accelerator explosion and lost his memory." Said Barry

"I totally get that. How about we go out tonight?" said Iris

Barry looked at Caitlin who just nodded that she was fine with that.

"Tonight is fine. How about Mario's at seven?" said Barry

"That works for us." Said Iris

"Barry, I am just going to step outside and let Charlie know she and Ronnie are off the hook for dinner." Said Caitlin

"Ok. I will just stay with Iris." Said Barry

"I got to check in with Joe." Said Eddie

Both Caitlin and Eddie went outside to make their calls. After hanging up Eddie smiled at Caitlin.

"I did try and talk Iris out of this dinner." Said Eddie

"It's fine."

"So did you cure your dad? I was there when Barry told Joe and Singh the real story."

"Yeah. But he did admit that it might not have been the best idea to use that treatment on one of his kids after I pointed out he treated her like an experiment."

"Do you think you will be able to patch things up with your parents?"

"It will take time. I am working on things with my mom. Did Barry tell you that I do have powers?"

"Yes just not what they are."

"I'm a telepath. I have control unless my emotions are heightened. But I am working on it."

"That is good. Think you can convince Barry and Joe Iris should be let in? I mean Kid Flash is her brother Wally right?"

"Yeah. I think he is worried that she will get herself in trouble."

"That is a given no matter what. So are you happy Caitlin?"

"Very Eddie. I have had feelings for Barry for a while. But he had been in love with Iris in the old reality and they got together after you died. While I ended up involved with a crazy murderer that pretended to be our friend."

"That sucks. But that is not going to happen this time. Thanks to you guys I don't have to kill myself, and maybe I can change things so that Eobard never becomes the monster he did."

"Well good luck with that. But you may actually get Iris as your wife. So if that happens his ancestry will change."

"That is true. Come on let's head back in and get our significant others so we can go get ready for dinner."

"That would be a good idea. Barry can take forever to get ready to go out."

"So can Iris."

Caitlin just smiled as the two of them headed in to get Barry and Iris. Neither of them noticed the man across the street watching them. He lowered the camera he was using and smirked. He was one step closer to his plan. He would destroy the Flash and bring this city to it's knees. He then took off leaving a trail of blue lightning in his wake.
