Part 34
Eddie walked into the crime lab and headed over to Barry.
"Hey Bare, have you heard from Iris? She texted me an hour ago saying she was on her way here with some news." Said Eddie
"No I haven't. Are you sure it was an hour ago?" said Barry
"Yeah. I mean I know you aren't the fastest guy around but it doesn't take you that long." Said Eddie
"Eddie, it's ok Patty knows. She and I dated after you died in the old reality. Remember you knew I was going to tell her?"
"Right I forgot. So do you think that you can look into it? I mean before I tell Joe."
"I'll call Cisco and see if he can trace her phone."
"Thanks."
"Eddie, Iris is my friend. So of course I want to make sure she is safe."
"Yeah after we find her maybe you should tell her your secret. I mean you have to get Frost to tell on her own."
"Easier said then done. Charlie and Iris are not friends. Heck Caitlin and Iris aren't really friends. Charlie doesn't really like Iris. Iris kind of at one point took over team Flash in the old reality. It was not the best idea she had and I never stood up to her about it. Charlie who back then was Caitlin's other personality didn't like it."
"Barry, maybe be you should assure Charlie that Iris will not be part of the team in that way this time she might be ok with it. I mean I have met her a few times. I wish I could afford to buy some of her art. She is a bit wild with a short temper but fairly nice most of the time." Said Patty
"Patty, that is easier said then done. Cait couldn't even get Charlie to agree to have dinner with Iris and Eddie." Said Barry
"Well at least Charlie did share her news and send us champagne last night." Said Eddie
"What news?" asked Patty
"Cait's sister is getting married to a guy in the old universe was Caitlin's husband for a few hours before he gave his life to save the city." Said Barry
"Is it me or did that sound really weird?" asked Patty
"No weirder than the fact that my future descendent from over a hundred years in the future is the one that killed Barry's mom." Said Eddie
"Really? I thought that was Harrison Wells." Said Patty
"Yeah Eobard or the Reverse Flash killed my mom, then killed the real Harrison Wells and his wife Tess Morgan taking over Wells's life because by killing my mom he got trapped in the past. He took over the real Wells's life so he could speed up the creation of the particle accelerator and rig it to explode so I would become the Flash earlier to send him back to his time."
"Only Barry didn't send him back and I killed myself in that other universe so that Eobard would be erased from existence. Only it didn't work. Barry and the other science people might be able to explain why. Because I sure as hell have no clue." Said Eddie
"Short and simple version is that in order for past events to happen the Reverse Flash has to exist. So there is always going to be a time remnant somewhere in the timeline. Right now we have banished the one from this timeline to a place called the Phantom Zone. I am friends with Superman and Supergirl. The Phantom Zone is where Krypton sent their most dangerous criminals before the planet exploded." Said Barry
"You going to send any more of your enemies there?" asked Patty
"Possibly Devoe if I can out smart him. He wasn't called the Thinker for nothing. But we also have a back up. We created a meta human cure. Though we really want it to only be used by choice. But Devoe is dangerous in the old reality he planned to turn everyone on Earth into mindless drones. He would then reshape it in the way he saw fit devoid of emotions." Said Barry
"Wait if you are devoid of emotions then you wouldn't know your friends, family or anyone." Said Patty
"True. It would also mean you wouldn't want to seek revenge on Mardon." Said Barry
"Yeah I know that is wrong. I am not going out looking to kill him. If he gets out of prison." Said Patty
"Which Mardon? If I remember right there were two. Clyde and Mark." Asked Eddie
"Mark aka Weather Wizard." Said Patty
"Didn't Clyde have the same powers?" asked Eddie
"Yeah but he didn't live long enough in the old universe to get named by Cisco. This one he is definitely dead. So we only got Mark to deal with." Said Barry
"Barry, I promise not to go rouge on him. I will let you and Frost take him down." Said Patty
"Good let me call Cisco."
Cisco was working on a new and improved version meta cuffs when his phone rang. He saw it was Barry and answered.
"Barry, if you are calling about your wife if she is not in her lab I don't know where she is." Said Cisco
"Actually it's Iris I am calling about. She was on her way to CCPD to give Eddie some news and never showed. That was over an hour ago. She was coming from Jitters."
"And it shouldn't have taken her more than five minutes to get there."
"Right can you try and trace her phone? If that doesn't work then I will get something of hers so you can vibe her."
"Head over with something just in case. But I will start the trace."
"On my way."
Barry grabbed a jacket Iris left in Eddies car and flashed into the cortex. Everyone turned to look at him.
"I got the trace going but it may take a little time. I also talked to Felicity and she is hacking into the cameras in and around Jitters. I also got the satellite looking for any sign of speedsters." Said Cisco
"I brought a jacket of Iris's Eddie had in his car." Said Barry
"Let me have it. I will try vibing in a minute. I just want to grab my goggles." Said Cisco
Just then the computer beeped as Cisco's phone rang. Cisco answered putting the phone on speaker.
"What do you got Smoak?" asked Cisco
"Iris was kidnapped. One minute she is on camera outside of Jitters the next she is gone." Said Felicity
"Yeah the satellite picked up signs of a speedster at the time she is walking out of Jitters. My trace on her phone has led to nothing. I am going to try and vibe her now to see if I can locate her."
"Let us know if you need back up. Oliver and Laurel will be happy to help."
"We will thanks Felicity." Said Barry
Cisco put on his googles and focus on Iris using her jacket. He came out of the vibe and looked at Barry.
"She is in the old Zag's Toy Factory near the river. Zoom has her." Said Cisco
"We will get her back." Said Charlie walking in wearing her suit.
Barry raised an eyebrow at his wife's twin. He knew Charlie had never liked Iris. So the fact she was willing to go on the rescue told him he had been right about her when she shared a body with Caitlin on the old Earth. She was a good person deep down.
