Part 39

Henry was not surprised when a streak of lighting dropped Iris West in his examination room. Nor was he surprised that Iris tried to leave before he could check her over.

"You aren't going anywhere until I make sure you are unharmed." Said Henry

"I'm fine. I need to find out if the Flash has stopped that monster."

"That can wait. The Flash would not have had you dropped in my clinic if he didn't want to checked over by a doctor. Now stay still while I do my job."

Iris did as she was told and unhappily sat on the examination table and let Henry look her over. When he was nearly done with his examination his phone rang. Seeing it was Barry he answered.

"Hey Bare, I am with a patient so I can't really talk."

Iris watched as Henry's face clouded over.

"I am coming over there right now."

Henry hung up and turned to Iris.

"Well you look like you are going to be fine. Maybe a little dehydrated. I am sure that someone has called either your dad or boyfriend. I have to go. My daughter Jesse had an accident at work."

"Is she going to be ok?"

"Barry didn't know much. I got to go and check on her."

"What hospital is she at?"

"Uh she is being treated by Caitlin at Star Labs. Caitlin is her primary doctor. Unfortunately you will not be able to see her there. You don't have clearance. Barry and Caitlin who are the new owners will not be granting any reporter or blogger clearance to enter the building past the lobby without a proper security escort. They are still working on hiring the guards."

"Well I hope that Jesse is going to be ok."

"Thanks."

Caitlin looked at the results of the MRI she had done on Jesse. She glanced at her mom who was also looking at them.

"Caitlin this is not good. Her T-11 and T12 vertebrate and L-1, L-2 and L-3 vertebrate are dislocated ." Said Carla

"True. But being a speedster there is a good chance that they will heal completely and she won't be paralyzed. Zoom did a similar thing to Barry on the old Earth and he completely recovered. You met him after that happened. Cicada also broke Barry and Iris's future daughter Nora's back from that reality and she recovered too. So I know first hand that speedsters can heal from something like this. But unfortunately she is going to be paralyzed for a couple days. Probably have a little trouble breathing too."

Just then there was a knock on the door. Caitlin looked over to see Barry and Henry standing at the door.

"How bad is it?" asked Henry

"Worse then what he did to Barry. Barry he just dislocated the T-12 and L-1 vertebrae. Jesse it is the T-11 to L-3 that are dislocated. But I have faith her speed healing should kick in." said Caitlin

"But this is still bad." Said Barry

"Yeah it is. Right now Jesse is paralyzed. I don't know for how long. But seeing as Barry was able to recover she should be able to as well."

"Well at least Zoom didn't get the chance to kill anyone you all care about this time." Said Henry

"True. Though dad Cait and I do have some good news for you. You are going to be a grandfather. Cait is pregnant." Said Barry

"That is great news." Said Henry

"I know that you will be the best grandpa Henry." Said Caitlin

"What about your dad? I noticed that he is out there." Said Henry

"I am not sure right now how much unsupervised contact he will have with my kids."

"Yeah he is kind of responsible for Charlie being a meta." Said Barry

"I understand that but he is still this baby's grandfather and he should be in their life."

"I know. I just need to convince my sister that we need to have a talk with mom and dad." Said Caitlin

"You get your sister and I will take your dad up to lounge. Unfortunately honey, you will be the only one that can't have a drink. I am sure Henry can keep an eye on Jesse while we talk and between, Barry, Jay and Wally there are enough speedsters to get you back here to help." Said Carla

"Ok. Barry if anything changes at all even if she wakes up get me." Said Caitlin

"You know I will."

Barry kissed Caitlin on the cheek. Caitlin then walked out of the med lab and looked at her sister.

"Charlene, we are going to have a talk with mom and dad weather you want to or not. So get your ice cold ass to the lounge now." Said Caitlin

Caitlin walked off without looking at the others.

"You better go babe. You know that your sister can be very scary when she is mad." Said Ronnie

"He is right. She did once mention that she knows how to do a lobotomy." Said Cisco

"Yeah I guess I should get this over with. The bar is still stocked right Cisco?" asked Charlie

"You know that Caitlin isn't much of a drinker and the speedsters that hang out around here can't get drunk. I only get wasted when I get dumped. So it should be unless you have been drinking it all." Said Cisco

"Don't make me freeze your toes off."

"CHARLENE STOP STALLING!" yelled Caitlin

Sighing Charlie headed out of the cortex. Carla walked out of the med lab and just shot a look at Thomas. He just got up and followed his wife out.

"Whipped." Coughed Wally

"Now I know where Caitlin gets that look from." Said Ronnie

"Did Charlie get that look too or just Caitlin?" asked Cisco

"Caitlin is better at it. But yeah she got it too." Said Ronnie

Henry sat next to his daughter's bedside. Jesse have only become his daughter in this new reality. But he loved her as if he never knew a life without her.

"Jesse, Barry and the others stopped Zoom. You just get better." Said Henry

"She is strong dad. Does Tina know what is going on?" asked Barry

"I haven't talked to her. She had a big project she was going to be working on today. Don't worry nothing with tachyons or a magntar. Not that I have any idea what that any of that means. But she said you would."

"Nothing you need to worry about."

"So how do you think it is going to go with your wife and her family?"

"Well from Cait's end Carla will get off easy. They had been making amends before crisis. Thomas on the other hand I am not so sure. They never really got the chance to work past the fact that he used an untested treatment on Caitlin as a child to prevent her from getting ALS. Well he used it on himself first. But that is beside the point. It is the fact that he did it on this Earth too. But he used Charlie as the lab rat. From what I know on the old Earth Carla didn't find out what was done to Cait until after it was done. Carla admits she was not the best mother on either Earth. But she would never let anyone use her child as a science experiment. Back on the old Earth when Cait went to her mom for help with finding a way to suppress or eliminate the powers she was developing there was this lab assistant that saw Cait as a way to make his own name and get out of Dr. Tannhouser's shadow. Cait attacked him. Carla stopped her from killing him reminding her that there was one thing that she had done right. She didn't raise a killer."

"What happened to this assistant?"

"He was black listed and sent to some Tannhouser site so far off the grid that not even ARGUS or the DEO will be able to find it."

"You know what they say you don't mess with a mother's cub or they will go full mother bear on you."

"I know."
