Part 40

Caitlin stood in front of her parents and sister. Charlie was sitting to the side while Thomas and Carla sat on the couch facing Caitlin.

"Charlie, I know you will not agree with what am about to do. But I don't care. Dad needs to know." Said Caitlin

Caitlin walked over to her father and placed her hand with the memory ring on his arm. The three women of the Snow family watched as Thomas started to cry over what he had done to his wife and nearly done to Caitlin when Icicle was in control on the old Earth.

"Thomas?" asked Carla

"I am so sorry. Caitlin how could I have tried to kill you?" asked Thomas

"Icicle was in control. In the end you saved my life. But that doesn't mean I have forgiven you for what you did to me on that Earth as a kid. You knew that it was dangerous. But you did it anyway. On this one history repeated itself but it was Charlie and not me that you used an untested treatment on. Didn't you graduate medical school and take the hypercritic oath? From what I remember of it reciting it as a child and taking it myself you have to promise to first due no harm. I think that using an untested treatment on your child is harming them and highly unethical." Said Caitlin

"Yeah dad. Caity is right." Said Charlie

"Mom, I know you didn't find out what he had done until after it had happened. But back on the old Earth you should have told me the truth. If I had known I might have been able to accept Frost when she first started to break free of the mental prison she had been locked in. You shouldn't have frozen me out after we lost dad to Icicle. You should have been there for me. I was a ten year old kid! I needed my mom. Though I due know you weren't as bad about it on this Earth. But that was mostly due to the trouble Charlie tended to get herself into." Said Caitlin

"I was wrong. I know that I should have been there for you. Part of me was scared that I was going to lose you the same way we lost Thomas. The fact is you were the only good thing in my life then. But the truth is by keeping you at a distance I lost you in a different way. Caitlin, I can never make up for being a bad mother. But I do want to be apart of my grandchild's life. I also realized when we were kidnapped by Icicle that I should have been honest with you. But I did do what I promised when you left my lab. I made sure that Nigel never revealed anything about your powers. I reminded him when he came to work for me he signed an iron clad nondisclosure agreement. That anything about you or your powers was covered by it and if he said anything he could face jail time for stealing trade secrets. Caitlin, even though I was poor at showing it, I have and always will love you no matter the timeline. The same with you Charlie. You two are my daughters and I will do whatever I have to, to keep you safe." Said Carla

"Mom, why did you always treat me like a black sheep?" asked Charlie

"I never meant to. Charlie, I think part of me wished I could be more like you. You are such a free sprit. You live your life without caring what anyone else thinks of you. I wish I could have been more like you. But I had to go and prove to everyone that the world of science was not just for men. That women can be successful in anything they wanted to do. I promise you that you are just as important as your sister to me."

"I want to work on our relationship."

"So do I. Now have you considered opening your own art gallery?"

"Yeah. But to do that I need money I don't have. You froze my trust fund until I got my head out of the clouds I believe you put it."

"Well I still don't think that your entire trust fund should be used to open a gallery. But I will let you take part of it to use as long as you get investors too."

"I think I know of a few. Barry and myself, I think Dr. McGee from Mercury Labs could be talked into it. As well as a certain female bat in Gotham. But she might put in a condition to her investment." Said Caitlin

"She has nothing to worry about if I get my gallery I will be more than willing to let any LGBQT+ artist have a showing. Plus once I have enough of them signed on to show June which is Pride month will only be for their work."

"You could also talk to Oliver and Thea. I mean Oliver hasn't made the same mistakes this time so he is still rich. Plus Thea has both her share of the Queen fortune and the Merlyn one." Said Caitlin

"Good point. Now as for you dad. It is going to take a lot for you to earn my trust back. But I guess we should start working on that. But I promise if you even think about using either mine or Caity's kids as lab rats I will never speak to you again" said Charlie

Thomas nodded seeing his daughter's eyes glow a frosty white.

Barry sat next to Jesse's bed holding her hand.

"Hey Jesse, you got to wake up. You are going to have a long road to recover from this injury. But I am going to help you. We got Zoom and he will never hurt you or anyone else. He is locked up in the meta wing of Iron Heights. I want you to be one of those cool Aunts for my kids."

"I am going to be a cool Aunt. Fill your kids with sugar right before bedtime." Mumbled Jesse

"You're awake! Be right back."

Barry flashed out of the med lab only to return a second later with Caitlin. Before making her way over to Jesse, Caitlin turned to the sink in the med lab and threw up. She then turned to her husband.

"Super speed and pregnancy don't mix." Said Caitlin

"Sorry." Said Barry

"Good to see you awake Jesse." Said Caitlin

"Caitlin why can't I feel my legs?" asked Jesse

"Zoom broke your back. Let me take a new MRI and I will see how much it has healed. Even though this is worse than what Zoom did on the old Earth to Barry, I believe that you will heal fine in time." Said Caitlin

"That is why it is hard to breath?"

"Spinal injuries can make it hard to breath but I am sure you already know that. Let's do that MRI and see how your back is doing."

Jesse nodded Barry went to get his dad who had gone to use the rest room. Once Henry was back they did the MRI and found that Jesse's back had nearly healed and would finish by morning.
