Part 46
Caitlin watched as Barry and Bruce began to spar. She had to admit that Bruce's fighting style reminded her a bit of Sara Lance's and Oliver's after he joined the League of Assassins. Barry was doing a good job of keeping up and anticipating each move before Bruce made it. She could see that the older man was not expecting Barry to be so good. Caitlin knew it was because he remembered his training from the old Earth.
"So how is Barry doing?"
Caitlin turned to see Jay had come in.
"Keeping up really well. Even landed a few hits of his own. Bruce is starting to look annoyed." Said Caitlin
"Well from what I know about Batman, that is par for the course. He finds any speedster even if they aren't using their powers annoying." Said Jay with a smile.
"You have something to do with that?"
"Maybe a little. But then again Bruce has never been much of a team player. He feels he has to be in charge even when it is not his city. He was offered membership into the Justice Society of America but declined when he realized he was never going to be the leader."
"From what I hear he has his own team."
"That maybe true. But for a long time he worked alone."
"Well I don't know how much control he has now. He is only here because his cousin made him come and is going to force him to invest in my sister's art gallery."
"Joan and I will give her what we can. We aren't as rich as you and Barry are."
"Jay, Charlie will take anything you can give. This is something she has wanted most of her life."
"We are glad to help. Looks like Barry is holding up pretty well. He is wearing a dampener isn't he?"
"To make it a slightly more fair match. Do you know if Bruce has received any training from the League of assassins?"
"Nothing I can confirm. But it would not surprise me."
"Anything particular bring you by?"
"I have decided to go check on my friend. Well that and give him a piece of my mind. He is letting kids take up the fight of the JSA."
"Clarify what you mean by kids Jay. Because you refer to Barry and Jesse as kids."
"High schoolers."
"How do you know?"
"Well I have watched him and his family from distance for a while. His stepdaughter has Starman's cosmic staff. Hourman's son has his hourglass that gives him powers. Two other girls have Dr. Midnight's costume and Wildcat's costume. While I might by that he had no choice about the cosmic staff picking his stepdaughter. The others he did."
"Why go easy about this cosmic staff thing?"
"It kind of has a mind of it's own. It is not alive but it is a mystical thing. I don't know much about it. But it will only work for someone it picks."
"Well I would say that was not possible. But I am married to a man that can run so fast that he can not only travel through time. But has jumped Earths."
"So can your Uncle in law."
"Very true."
"Caitlin, I know that you are having issues with your parents. But you might want to look into your family tree more. Both your powers and your sister's remind me of members of the Injustice Society. Whatever your dad did to Charlie, I think just woke dormant powers she already had. Same for you with the particle accelerator explosion."
"I will look into it."
"Good. I just want you to know in case…"
"Charlie and I are related to super villains?"
"Yes. But that doesn't mean that you will be come one."
"I know."
"I will be back in a few days."
"Stay safe Jay."
"You know I will. Make sure that husband of yours doesn't go and mess with the timeline. We don't need someone worse than Savitar to show up."
"Like some villain that you and the JSA defeated?"
"Yes there are a couple that I can think of that you would need to call in all your friends to help with and even then they might still be trouble."
"Trust me if Barry even thinks about going back in time to change something I will have Charlie stab him in both legs."
"That is something I have no doubt your sister will enjoy."
"I am sure she would."
Jay took off in a trail of lightning and Caitlin went back to watching Barry. She heard Bruce grunt as he hit the floor. Barry reached down to help the older man up.
"You are better then I expected." Said Bruce
"Well I did learn a few things from the Green Arrow in the old reality." Said Barry
"Well that explains things. Oliver Queen had one of the same teachers I did. Ra's al Ghul."
"I thought that fighting style looked familiar." Said Caitlin
"It wouldn't hurt you to learn to defend yourself Dr. Snow."
"Actually it's Dr. Allen, Mr. Wayne. But that is going to have to wait six to seven months at least." Said Caitlin
"Well congratulations. Now I thought I saw the senior Flash Jay Garrick Allen." Said Bruce
"You did. He was just letting us know he is going to be out of town for a couple days."
"He going to have a talk with Starman's sidekick about those kids he is letting play hero?" asked Bruce
"You are one to talk. Everyone of your Robins have been kids when they started out." Said Barbara steering her wheelchair into the room with Cisco leading the way.
"Point taken." Said Bruce
"So I take it we are secure now?" asked Barry
"Yes. No one is going to be able to hack in." said Barbara
"Thanks." Said Barry
"No problem." Said Barbara
"Barbara, would you be willing to let me look at your medical records in regards to your injury? I might be able to come up with something to help you walk again. I should warn you that my idea will involve the use of meta DNA. Both speedsters and my sister have regenerative abilities." Said Caitlin
"Well if you think it might be possible. I will have my medical records sent to you."
"Great." Said Caitlin
Just then an alert went off. Everyone headed to the cortex.
"Oh frack! No not them!" said Cisco
Caitlin walked over to her station and hit a few buttons to bring up an image on all the screens around the cortex.
"Hello Central City! I'm back and I am not alone! For those that don't know who I am let me introduce myself. I am the Trickster. With me is my lovely assistant Prank and my boy you can call him Trickster Jr. I am hear to call out my old pal Flash and his new sidekicks. Flash Jr., Kiddie Flash and girly Flash." Said the senior Trickster
"Let's not forget the Elsa wannabe and fire bug." Added Trickster Jr.
"We have hidden bombs through out the city. We will not tell where they are. But each has a sensor that will pick up speeds over 100 miles an hour, and temperatures below zero or above 100 Fahrenheit." Said Prank
"Who is Prank?" asked Bruce
"Think of her as our version of Harley Quinn without the degree in psychology." Said Barry
"Barry, Jay went to Blue Valley to see his friend." Said Caitlin
"I think that three speedsters Frost and Firestorm can handle the three of them." Said Barry
"Don't forget your friendly neighborhood bats." Said Kate
"They are in downtown Central City two blocks from CCPD." Said Barbara
Barry, Wally and Jesse flashed into their suits. Charlie changed into hers and Ronnie and Stein merged into Firestorm. Caitlin walked over to Barry and kissed him.
"You come back to me. I don't want to raise a possible speedster without you." Said Caitlin
"You aren't going to get rid of me that easily. I love you Cait."
Caitlin watched as the group of heroes left to take on Central City's craziest not meta criminals.
