Part 49

Savitar stared at Death Watch not believing that Crystal had failed at not only killing Julian Albert but making this Earth's so called Ice Queen look like the killer she should have been. He still had no idea why so many things were different on this Earth than on every other he had been to in the multiverse. But he was not going to stop until he destroyed the Barry Allen of this Earth.

"So you got a plan B?" asked Death Watch

"Of course. But just remember that you can die just like anyone else. Now tell me have you been able to hack into Star Labs yet?"

"I can't break through the firewall that this Earth's Oracle has put up. She maybe better than any of her counterparts we have come across. But I will keep trying."

"Well I think it is time that I hit the Flash where is heart is. It is time to go after Caitlin Snow."

"How do you plan to get her? I mean sure you look almost like her husband. But I am pretty sure that even she is smart enough to be able to tell the difference between you and him. I mean I am guessing that he is not sporting a face that looks like a burnt thin crust pizza."

Savitar sped over to the hacker and vibrated his hand inches from her chest.

"Make another comment like that and will make it the last thing you ever say. Do I make myself clear?"

"Of course I was just making a point."

"You aren't here to make a point. You are here to do a job that you are failing at."

"It is not my fault that they found someone that is better than me on a computer."

"Keep trying or I will kill you."

Death Watch nodded. She knew that Savitar was evil but she had never had him threaten her before.

Caitlin walked into Tannhauser Industries and for once was able to make it rather quickly past the reception desk. She headed for her mother's office where both her parents were waiting for her.

"Caitlin is everything ok?" asked Carla

"It's fine. But I have a few questions for dad." said Caitlin

"What is it Caity?" asked Thomas

"Barry's Uncle Jay mentioned to me that when he was with the JSA he fought a man that had powers that were a lot like Charlie's. That he called himself Icicle."

Thomas let out a sigh. He knew that he had to tell Caitlin the truth. He had lied too many times in the past.

"It most likely was my brother. Jordan Mahkent. He inherited the powers from our parents." said Thomas

"So you lied about who you are?" asked Caitlin

"I never lied about that. When I left home I changed my name to Snow. My parents and brother believe in doing whatever it takes to achieve their goals, even kill. I wanted no part of that. While I was not born with the ice powers that run in our family bloodline I still had the gene for them. When I came up with my treatment for ALS I found by activating the gene I would be cured. But I never factored in the fact that it would cause a new personality to take over. A personality that shared the goals of the rest of my family. Before I lost complete control with your mother's help I was able to find a way to lock away the powers in your sister. While I found you had the meta gene, you do not have the cryogenic abnormalities that run in our bloodline. That is most likely why you have gotten the powers you have now when the particle accelerator exploded." said Thomas

"So you are still keeping secrets. Dad, you want Charlie and me to forgive you. But how can we when you are still not telling us everything." said Caitlin

"Caitlin, if what Jay told you is true then it is better that you don't know my brother or parents. They would try and turn you and your sister to their way of thinking. While I don't think that you would turn from your husband, I am not so sure about your sister." said Thomas

"Mom, did you know about this?"

"Not everything. But I knew your father changed his name. That he was no longer in contact with his family." said Carla

"I am going to go. I need time to deal with this. If we need your help someone will be in touch."

Caitlin turned and walked out of the office. Carla turned to her husband.

"You better not have any more big secrets Thomas or you are never going to have a relationship with either of our girls." said Carla

"I know. But if Jordan and my parents find out about Charlie's powers they will stop at nothing to try and turn her and the fact that she knows that the Flash from the JSA is still alive would cause trouble for everyone if Jordan were to find out."

Blue Valley, Nabaska

Jay walked into the Pit Stop auto repair and smiled when he saw the giant robot. It seemed that Pat Duggan had not changed in the years that had passed.

"Be right with you." yelled Pat

"No rush Stripsey." yelled Jay

Jay smiled when Pat came into view.

"Jay?"

"How is it going kid?"

"How is this possible? I thought you were dead."

"Probably should be. But it turns out that I am faster than Icicle."

"I take it that you are not going to tell me where you are living now. But if the reports I have been hearing are true I have a pretty good idea."

"Well, I won't confirm where I live now. It wouldn't be safe for my family. My wife or daughter. Or even my brother and nephew and his wife."

"I didn't know you had a family. I mean a wife and daughter."

"Is it really a surprise that most of us never shared anything about our families after what happened to Dr. McNiters daughter?"

"I guess not."

"Well I know that you have a family. Which is why I am here. Why are you letting these kids take up the mantles of the JSA?"

"Well you must know that I really had no control over the cosmic staff choosing Courtney. I mean that thing has a mind of it's own."

"True. I am talking about the kids that are taking up for Wildcat, Dr. Midnite and Hourman."

"Well Rick is Rex's son. That is the only way that the hourglass will work for him. As for the other two, that is on Courtney. Maybe I shouldn't have taken her to show her that stuff at the old JSA headquarters"

"That is an understatement. There are still members of the ISA out there. I wouldn't put it past them to hurt those kids if they get a chance."

"Trust me I tried to stop them. But luckily the most dangerous items have yet to get in the hands of anyone that can use them."

"Well the green lantern is useless without the ring."

"I know but I have no idea what happened to the ring after Alan Scott disappeared."

"No idea on that. Pat, I want you to know that I am looking into something. But I am fairly sure that Icicle has family members. My nephew's sister in law has powers a lot like his. Only she doesn't turn into a giant walking ice cube to use them. She is also far from evil. Maybe has anger management issues at times. But that normally only happens when someone she cares about is in danger."

"Jay, I promise that I am doing everything I can to keep these kids safe."

"I know. I am going to leave you a number to reach me. If I am not able to come to help then my daughter, my nephew, the current Flash or Kid Flash, another speedster on the team will come to help."

"Thanks, that will be a big help."

Jay gave Pat the number to a cell phone and was gone in a flash of lightning.
