Chapter 353 Finn's Nightmares 1

Finn was walking through a tunnel lite with torches searching for Crimson. The hero had, his hand on his sword ready to fight, when Crimson's voice seemed to suddenly pop up and come from everywhere.

"Hey Finn, what do you think of Bubblegum these days?"

"What do you mean?" Asked Finn looking around.

"I mean, what do you think about Bubblegum after what she did in that Cooler incident in the Fire Kingdom? Thousands of people were killed and a bunch sacred artifacts/weapons were destroyed by Bubblegum. Not to mention she betrayed and hurt your precious princess. You really must hate Bubblegum now and wish her great harm?" Said Crimson.

Finn just clenched his fist and glared at the ground. Part of what Crimson said was true, was furious about what Bubblegum did to Phoebe and Flame Princess. Finn had once thought very highly of Bubblegum, but that had all changed in an instant. He hated Bubblegum now and a part of him did want to lash out at her in retaliation for what she did. The young hero let his anger boil a little more and then he took a calming breath.

"Yeah I hate what Bubblegum did and I'm mad about it, but Bubblegum is going to be punished for what she did. Bubblegum is going to stand trial and get exactly what she deserves." Said Finn.

"Oh really? That's very naive. Do you honestly believe that someone like Bubblegum will get the proper punishment she deserves? The answer is NO! Bubblegum has hired a elite lawyer to defend herself and make sure she gets the minimal punishment. She doesn't care about anything, but herself and her kingdom." Said Crimson.

"That's not true!" Yelled Finn.

"Oh but it is! Think about it. There's an old saying that says keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Bubblegum kept my master the Lich imprisoned in a tree in her kingdom. She kept close contact with the Fire Kingdom and it's citizens, so she could spy on them, learn their secrets, and earn their trust, until she learned exactly how to strike and truly cause them pain. Bubblegum keeps close contact with the Ice Kingdom, Wizard City, the Slime Kingdom, and many others, so she can learn their secrets and strike them down, when the moment is right. She says she's cares about all of Ooo, but in reality she only cares about her kingdom and her citizens. As long as the Candy Kingdom is safe, the rest of Ooo can go ahead and burn and fall into ruin as far as Bubblegum is concerned." Said Crimson.

Finn didn't quit know how to respond to this. A part of what Crimson said was true and it made sense.

"You ever wonder why Goliad turned out to be evil?" Asked Crimson.

"Not really." Admitted Finn.

"Well she was basically a clone of Bubblegum and she reflects Bubblegum's true self. Bubblegum sees herself above all others and she desires absolute control over Ooo. I bet when Bubblegum's little son becomes a teenager, he'll follow in his mother's footsteps." Said Crimson.

"ENOUGH! It was your master who messed Bubblegum up after that battle at his Well of Power! You made her cause the Cooler incident!" Yelled Finn as he stormed down the tunnel looking for Crimson.

The air suddenly grew colder and the voice of the Lich spoke from the darkness.

"As much as I would enjoy taking credit for that, I'm afraid I'm not responsible for Bubblegum's actions at the Fire Kingdom. She caused all that death and destruction of her own free will."

"No...Your lying!" Accused Finn.

"It's the truth." Said Crimson.

Finn was stunned by this revelation. Bubblegum was truly responsible for her actions and there was no outside influence to blame it on. She was just as bad as the villains he was chasing. As Finn continued to move forward and think about his thoughts, he failed to see the waking dream demon creep up behind him and zap him with it's powers. The hero continued to move on unaware of the mental blast, until he entered a large chamber and saw Crimson standing on one side holding a red sword.

"Lets you and me settle this." Said Crimson as he grew to roughly Finn's height.

"Fine by me!" Yelled Finn as he ran at Crimson swinging his sword.

The two blades met with a mighty clash. Finn angrily yelled and attacked Crimson with several violent swings, which Crimson either blocked or dodged. Crimson nimbly danced around and retreated back as Finn continued to attack him.

"My. My. The young hero is filled with anger and bloodlust. I always knew you had in you! You killed those warriors back there with ease. Your a killer and you love the thrill of combat! Just like me!" Taunted Crimson.

This taunt and comparison filled Finn with even more rage and he doubled his efforts. Finn's efforts began to show results as Crimson was only able to block Finn's attacks now. One mighty sword swing knocked Crimson's sword from his hands sending it clattering to the ground. Finn delivered a swift and powerful kick to Crimson's chest and knocked him to the ground on his back.

"Time to see, who you really are!" Declared Finn as he reached down and pulled Crimson's mask off!

Finn looked down at the man behind the mask and was utterly stunned. He had been expecting a demon or some kind of monster, not what was currently looking up at him.

"No...This can't be right!" Yelled Finn as he took a few steps back and dropped the mask.

Crimson grinned up at Finn with a face that looked exactly like Finn's own face. The let out an insane laugh that filled the air and then he just melted into a puddle. Finn blinked his eyes in stunned confusion and then the floor just opened up beneath him and he fell through the hole screaming.

Finn fell for a few minutes and then he landed in a large room that resembled a church. The room was filled with shadowy figures that Finn couldn't tell who they were. The figures appeared to be crying and looking up at a bunch of open caskets at the front of the room. Finn walked up to the caskets and saw the bodies of the monkey ninja, the cheese ninja, the Puckerberry, and the Pistachion, he had recently killed in them. The heads of the cheese ninja and the Pistachion were both stitched back onto their bodies. Finn felt a great deal of guilt go through him as he looked at the bodies. He then turned to see the shadowy figures had taken on the forms of monkeys, cheese ninjas, Puckerberries, and Pistachions and all them, were glaring at Finn with absolute rage in their eyes and began to shout at him.

"Killer!"

"Monster!"

"Assassin!"

"False hero!"

Finn tried to respond to the crowd, but he felt a cold hard touch his arm and turned to see the Pistachion sitting up in his casket glaring at him with dead eyes.

"You did this!" Yelled the Pistachion indicating the stitches on his neck.

Finn stumbled away fearfully from the dead Pistachion and the angry crowd began to advance towards him. The hero backed up to a wall and it suddenly fell apart causing Finn to fall though it. The hole quickly closed up and Finn found himself in a hallway lite up by torches with green neon flames.

"Come to me Finn and meet your end." Called the Lich's voice from down the hallway.

Finn tightly gripped his sword and went down the hallway to face the Lich.
