Chapter 358 Couples Therapy

In the Ice Kingdom palace, Betty sat in her office going through the files and notes of her therapy patients. A ton of people currently living in the Ice Kingdom had issues that they needed to talk about. Pacifica talked about the emotional abuse she suffered from her father's hand, Dipper, Mabel, and Rain talked about the loss of loved ones, Bendy, Boris, and Alice talked about the issue that they have weren't true living beings, Mimi communicated through a few words and drawings she made about all the physical and psychological pain her father put her through, Lapis talked about her time trapped in a mirror, Patience talked about all the abuse she went through before freezing herself and coming to Ooo, and Lolly and Chicle talked about how they used to be prisoners in their minds and bodies. Everyone of them had issues and Betty was doing everything she could to help them.
Now she was going to deal with a few couples that needed counseling. The first people to arrive were Mordecai the bluejay and his current girlfriend Cloudy J, who simply went by CJ. CJ was a 5'8" cloud-humanoid with white skin and a cloud-like head and "hair" that looks as if it was tied in a pony-tail with a big bushy fringe. She wore an orange and white-striped tank top, brown shorts, and small black boots. Betty welcomed the couple into the office and they sat down.
"Now why don't you tell me about yourselves and what seems to be the troubling your relationship." Said Betty.
Mordecai and CJ began to tell how they first met online and began dating and going on a few crazy adventures. CJ then began to show frustration and her body started to darken and turn black as she talked about Mordecai's ex-girlfriend a red robin named Margaret. Apparently CJ believed there were still romantic feelings between Mordecai and Margaret and there had been a incident at a holiday party where the two had shared a kiss. Mordecai said he was sorry for the kiss and it was a spur of the moment thing pressured by the other party goers and some holiday tradition. He said that he no longer had any romantic feelings for Margaret and that they were simply just friends now.

It was at that moment Mordecai's cellphone began to ring and a picture of him and Margaret appeared on the screen. CJ saw the picture and a look of absolute fury appeared on her face as her body began to morph and grow into a large dark cloud with her face on it. The angry cloud woman rose to the celling and started to thunder and blow great gales of wind in the office. Mordecai looked up at CJ in fear, while Betty looked up at her with calm determination. Betty stood up from her chair, pointed her hands up at CJ, and began firing freezing blast of cold wind at her body. CJ let out a cry of anger and surprise as she struggled to maintain her form and fight against the cold winds bombarding her body.
"CJ you need to calm down and take a deep breath. Your overreacting and your making a mountain out of a molehill. Let's talk and give Mordecai a chance to explain." Said Betty.
"His lying! Mordecai still loves that rotten robin!" Yelled CJ determined not to be beaten and to harm Mordecai.
Mordecai looked up at CJ and then he glanced at the cellphone in his hands that displayed the picture of him and Margaret. He took a deep breath and shouted up at CJ.
"Hey CJ!"
CJ turned her eyes to Mordecai as he raised his cellphone high into the and then he threw it to the ground! The phone cracked a lot and Mordecai raised his foot up and stomped hard on the phone shattering it to bits! CJ was stunned by this action and her anger began to die down as she resumed her humanoid shape and white color as she landed on the ground.
"You destroyed your phone." Said CJ.
"I did. It'll cost me a bit to get a new phone, but I rather lose a phone then lose you." Said Mordecai.
"But...you had a picture of you together with Margaret on your phone. She was calling you." Said CJ.
"Yeah I was meaning to get rid of that old picture and I think Margaret was just calling to talk or ask for a favor or something. We're just friends now and what we had back then is over. Your my girlfriend now CJ and I want to be with you." Said Mordecai with some love in his voice.
"Oh man. I...feel like such a ding dong. I totally overreacted. Sorry about that." Said CJ looking sorry.
"Hey it's cool. I messed up too." Said Mordecai.
"I think you both made a great deal of progress today." Said Betty with a smile.
"We did?" Asked both Mordecai and CJ.
"You did. Look a good relationship is built on honesty, patience, love, and good communication and understanding. You both displayed some of these qualities today and showed you both really care for each other. Every relationship has problems but if people are determined and willing they can overcome it in time." Explained Betty.
"I...guess we did that stuff. Um...sorry about causing a scene there." Said CJ rubbing the back of her head and looking a little embarrassed.
"It's quit alright. I remember having quit a temper, when I was your age. Now my advice to you is to channel that energy of yours into something constructive. Oh I know just the thing! You should join the Peace Protectors, I hear they are looking for new members." Said Betty.
"Become a hero?" Asked CJ.
"You should totally do that! You'd be awesome at that." Said Mordecai giving CJ an encouraging smile.
"Alright I'll do it." Said CJ with a smile.
The two shared a quick hug and thanked Betty before they left the office.
Next to visit the office were three generals from the Puppet Kingdom. They were General Rooster, General Bull, and General Horse. General Rooster was a rooster with a very loud-colored black, red, and yellow plumage. His feathers were red in the main, and instead of a crested head, he had a pompadour hairdo. He wore a corset with heart designs all over it. General Bull a yellow robotic bull humanoid with a shape and pattern that gave the impression of a piece of construction machinery. He had two big horns on his head, a checkered racing stripe that ran down the middle of his face, and a horseshoe shaped magnet nose ring. General Horse was a tall black metal horse with a lanky physique and a red flamenco dress. She had steam gauges on the waist of her dress and arms, hydraulic buffers on her legs, and a red rose on her head.
General Rooster explained to Betty that General Bull and General Horse were married, but recently that got into a huge argument of who was faster and they started to compete in several destructive races with each other. The constant races had become so terrible that both generals had completely abandoned their duties to their kingdom. Puppet King was enraged by this and ordered General Bull and General Horse to go to couples therapy and get them to work their issues out. He sent General Rooster with them to make sure they didn't ditch therapy and to deliver a message from one of the many higher ups in Castle Lemongrab.
"Alright why don't you tell me what your problem is." Said Betty.
"My problem is that overgrown cow thinks his faster then me!" Yelled General Horse.
"Your not faster then me little pony!" Yelled General Bull.
"Then let's settle this!" Yelled General Horse.
The two of them stood up and were about to start racing, but Betty fired a freeze blast at them and froze every bit of the two generals except their heads and necks. General Bull and General Horse blinked their eyes in confusion at their predicament. Betty let out a sigh and faced the couple.
"This behavior is unacceptable. You two are married and high ranking generals of your kingdom and your wasting all your time with these silly races just to see who is faster. A friendly competition is fun from time to time, but if it consumes every bit of your life and marriage it needs to stop. Now here's what's going to happen. Your each going to compliment each other. If you don't then you're going to be stuck in the ice." Said Betty staring the generals down.
The generals saw that Betty was serious and they began to compliment one another.
"General Bull is very strong. I like the sharpness of his horns and how he can smash rocks with ease." Said General Horse.
"General Horse is very beautiful. I like how majestically she runs and how nimbly she is." Said General Bull.
"Good." Said Betty as she blasted the ice away.
The generals moved their limbs and looked at each other.
"I'm sorry." They both said to each other.
"That's enough for today." Said Betty.
General Rooster handed Betty a small metal disk with a button on top of it. Betty pressed the button on the disk and a ten inch tall hologram of Gumbald appeared before her.
"Greetings Ice Queen Betty. I am Gumbald."
"I've heard of you and I know about the things you've done." Said Betty with a glare prepared to destroy the device.
"Wait! Please listen to what I have to say first." Said Gumbald.
"You have two minutes." Said Betty.
"Look I've been thinking really hard lately about the past and my family. I want to set down with my wife, son, and niece and talk things out and reconnect. There's been too much bad blood between us and I want to bury the hatchet. There's enough room for Ooo for all of us and we're all adults, I'm sure we can work things. Blargetha is with me and she wants to work things out with Slime Princess. If it makes you feel any better we agree to meet in the Ice kingdom under yours and your husband's supervision. No tricks. No games. Just tell them what I told you." Said Gumbald.
"Fine. I'll see what I can do." Said Betty.
"Thank you." Said Gumbald before the hologram vanished.
Betty let out a sigh and went looking for her husband to tell him the news.
