Having now spent two weeks meeting with Yor during study period, the pair was finally able to study in the presence of each other without getting too distracted. Yes, there was still the occasional moment when Yor stuck her tongue out while focusing or Loid ran his hand through his hair that took the other's breath away, but that hardly counted.

"Sally's boyfriend was caught behaving indecorously with another girl. Sally has been gifted r roses from another suitor. If her boyfriend wants to apologize with 100 times as many roses but is set on destroying the roses from the other suitor, Sally will have 150 roses. How many roses did the suitor give her? Write an algebraic equation and solve for r," Yor read. "Who writes these problems?"

Count Henrick Spiegel IV authored Algebra for Elegant Young People which the pair could easily have learned by turning to the title page, but neither was terribly interested in the correct answer.

Loid looked up from the book. "That reminds me: it's a shame about Dominic and Camilla."

Yor's already wide eyes widened in confusion. "I thought you wanted to see Camilla burn."

He let out an embarrassed laugh. "I guess I did. We've come to an understanding."

She clapped her hands together. "Aw, Loid! I'm so proud of you. Way to be the bigger person."

He felt a bit of heat in his face. 'How can she be so kind to me after what I did?' "In that spirit, I want to play cupid."

Yor smiled even more brightly at him. 'He's becoming a better person by the day. I hope I can keep up.' "That's a great idea!"

"Thank you. I was wondering if you would mind helping me."

"You want me to help you?"

"Of course. We do make a good team after all."

Yor tried to keep her smile from being too fond. "How can I help?"

"Well, under different circumstances, I would suggest we throw them together when she has returned. However, given Dominic's current state, I'm unsure he will survive two weeks without contact from her."

They both thought back to how they had seen Dominic this morning. Gone was the peppy boy they'd known for years. He had been replaced by a sluggish, weeping, snot-filled zombie who couldn't be bothered to tuck in his shirt or tie his shoes. Cecile Hall felt colder with Zominic roaming the halls.

"But how can we get them to talk to each other while she's stuck at the rehab center?"

Loid stood and paced for a moment. 'We could always break him in, but that's risky. If only we had an easy excuse for him to be there.'

"I wish she were being treated at the hospital. Then Dominic could join us for Saturday volunteering," Yor said.

Loid stopped pacing and looked at Yor with a big smile. "You're a genius!" He found himself sweeping her out of her chair and into a hug. "Yes! We'll get Dominic to volunteer at the rehab center. I'm sure Eden will be delighted to arrange it with their constant volunteering initiatives."

Yor found herself hugging him back. 'He's so clever. I'm so lucky to be his girlfriend, fake or not.'

They made plans to talk to the volunteering organizer during their next free period. Neither would admit it out loud, but they were both loathe to release the other from their embrace and return to their elegant algebra problems.

AN: Hi, everyone. Yes, I am adding a Camilla and Dominic subplot. If you like it, great. If not, it will be over soon. Thank you for reading. xo Lolly
